This was cute! I loved the hate/love vibe with Charleigh and Court. Plus, you still have all the Seraphina drama and then some family drama and then some office drama.

I love Charleigh and Courtland. LOVED THEM.
My guy had been THROUGHIT. Poor Court. There really is something to be said for a wounded man just trying to carry on with his life. Just make it through the motions. That's what it felt like he was doing until he happened upon a fiesty little pocket rocket whom was not in the mood to entertain anyone. He was sweet, open, protective and loving. He's also funny and well rounded given the trauma he's been through.
Charleigh is hilarious. A short fuse with a wide range this woman took no fools and served absolutely no one. She could absolutely be sweet and loving and very protective of those she loved. However she also had a vindictive streak a mile long and took no prisoners on her path of war. She was unapologetically herself in all the snippy glory and I loved it.
This pair had me hollering with laughter because whilst I wouldn't go as far as to say they were straight up enemies.. there was definitely a clash between them that poured gas on their inferno. The bickering only served as the beginnings of foreplay. The banter? Delectable. The build up... perfection. I loved that it wasn't a straightforward journey because their lives were not linear. They adapted, and together grew into something special but that was with good communication. Those important moments of vulnerability and openness. I appreciated the way Lani brought Laurie in so gently honoring her memory whilst paving a way for Court to live his future. Given just how difficult that situation is i felt like despite others reactions, the way Court spoke of it, trauma aside was sweet and Charleigh gave him the room for that. I loved that for them.
It really was sweet but also hilarious and fiesty in all the best ways.
As per.. Lani brought a slew of characters, both old and new faces to keep us entertained. There was never a dull moment and I for sure cannot wait for what's next!.

If you've been reading this series, you already know Charleigh's history and the accident that changed her life. She lost her best friend because of her friend's sister's drunk driving, was left with massive medical bills, and eventually received shares in the Condors and Cowgirls from her friend's wealthy parents.
Now Court is in Montana trying to start over after losses of his own, and Charleigh does NOT like him when they first meet.
Things get considerably more interesting when Beau comes up with a plan to finally deal with his sister and asks Court to buy him out. Suddenly Court and Charleigh own the majority of both teams and have to work together.
And these two are a powerhouse.
There are side characters in this book who had me ready to pull my hair out. I wanted to scream more than once. We also revisit an incredibly sad moment we've already experienced, except this time we see it from another perspective. I really liked that because it added so much more to something I thought I already understood.
Then everything finally comes to a head and WE GET THAT SCENE.
You know those scenes you immediately reread because your brain has already added dramatic music and turned the whole thing into slow motion? THAT. It ranks right up there with Quaid Carter sliding across the hood of the car in I Can't Even for me.
I read this entirely too quickly and immediately wanted to start it again. And the setup for Black's book? I'm ready. Give it to me now.
Thank you to Lani Lynn Vale and Give Me Books Promotions for providing me with an ARC of the book. All opinions expressed are my own.

This hot little number will leave you wanting more. Courtland Navarro has endured the pain of losing his wife and unborn child. After spending years in prison, his conviction is overturned, and he's ready to start fresh. What he doesn't realize is that he's starting fresh, pissed off, Charleigh Lynn Kensington. Charleigh is one of those characters you immediately relate to. Losing her best friend at a young age has shaped the person she is today. She will never stop fighting for what happened. When Court comes into the picture, she knows he's just gonna continue to piss her off. But when her best friend's brother comes to her with an opportunity, well, she may have to say yes. Court has always found Charleigh laughable and cute, but nothing can replace his wife. But this spitfire has been showing not only her colors but also her protectiveness. As they are thrown together, their personalities come out, and you really see their feelings come to light. When the truth about the past comes to light, what will happen? And can Charleigh finally get her revenge for what was done to her best friend?

This is the 10th book in this phenomenal series, and this is Courtland and Charleigh’s story.
Court and Carleigh are both broken by tragedy, as Court lost his pregnant wife, and Charleigh lost her best friend. When Court is released from prison he buts a mechanic shop, not knowing that Charleigh wanted to buy it. Charleigh is dynamite in a small package, but Court is determined to convince her she belongs to him, but he has his hands full with her.
No spoilers: this is a must-read series!
This is a well written easy to read story, with found family, friendships, emotions, drama, secrets, loss, grief, tragedy, grumpy / sunshine, opposites attract, second chances, redemption, humour, witty banter, healing, explosive chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, tragic, and unpredictable small-town romance.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Violent Little Thing😈
Violent Little Thing is a perfect description of Charleigh. She’s small and packed full of sass and dynamite…I definitely want to be her when I grow up😇
Charleigh lost her best friend years earlier in a drunk driving accident, that also caused her to end up in hospital with massive medical bills. The drunk driver was the daughter of a wealthy family and also the sister to Charleigh’s best friend that was killed😢
Court is an ex professional athlete but moved to Montana with a new name to start fresh after he suffered his own losses. Him and Charleigh are teamed up to take over the Condors and Cowgirls from Beau, when he comes up with a way in which to cut his entitled and spoiled sister off🙌 However, weeks after implementing everything they realise they have a connection and what started as a way in which to stick it to Beau’s sister, becomes something…..more❤️🩹
Loved Court and Charleigh and once again devoured the book waaaayyy to quickly but excited to see if Black’s story is next😳 I received an advanced copy and willingly leave my honest review😍

My little junkyard dog.
Court and Charleigh are like oil and water totally opposite. Sometimes that’s what works.
In the last book they were thrown together to stop the woman she hates most in this world. Seraphina an evil rich woman who has hurt so many
“I’m not sure we were ever fake anything,”
Court has not had an easy life at all. Living in a void for years. She brings him back to life.
“I’m a little bit broken inside, but each day that you’re here, you heal a part of me that I didn’t realize was broken.
Sadness and hatred turn into love and HEA in this phenomenal edition.

Nothing makes my little bibliophile heart happier that catching up with old friends and watching what develops between them , I’m so excited to see how things unfold between Charleigh and Court , the Great Dane vs the Chihuahua🥰🤣this is just what I needed after finishing off some heavy reading 😉
I love the honest and vulnerability of the dedication 🥰 and the little notes before each chapter , it’s like this read is hugging me a little each chapter 😜
Carleigh may be little but she’s a little powerhouse and she has her sights set on the mechanic shop that belonged to her grandpa but so has Court , now he's out of prison he needs something to do , he’s already ruffled her feathers without intending to 🫣🫢🤣
Carleigh isn’t a stranger to the the Vanderbilt family , Sonja was her best friend and she was in the car that a drunk Seraphina was driving that cost Sonja her life and left Carleigh in recovery for a very long time 💔 she also inherited 10% the Condors but it would never replace her friend 💔I get upset all over again , Seraphina doesn’t deserve any “ airtime “ she’s mean , selfish , cruel and self absorbed 🤮 whereas Beau has always looked out for her without her knowledge .
Carleigh has Peter and I’ve Squish , just another reason I adore her 🤗 and Peter makes friends with an old feathered friend , Possum 🥰
Court (Emory ) was married to Lauri ,( i must admit I couldn’t see them together because she’s high maintenance ) he was a professional soccer player at the time and they were expecting their first child when tragedy struck and he went to prison for the deaths of his wife and unborn child , but her was innocent and my heart just ached for the pain he’d been through 💔and for everything he had to endure thanks to Lauri’s family 😡
Beau approaches Carleigh regarding his plans with the Condors and she’s on board , anything to get back at Seraphina !
So Court posing as her fiancé goes with her when when she resigns , her boss is the new “love interest “ of Seraphina 🫢🤮and when she sees them together she’s going to loose her mind and that’s exactly the reaction our friends want , it’s just sad that someone else paid the price , yet again for Seraphina’s actions and everything comes back to me from the previous book 💔
So Court and Carleigh go about business and he even wins Peter over 🦜🥰he’s a keeper 😉 I love how Carleigh encourages Court and defends him , stands behind him and bring peace to him and she’s not afraid to use throw punches when needed , she’s a real little fire cracker and Chapter 27 had me in stitches but my heart beat but stopped at the end of it and just I wanted to catch my breath Chapter 28 knocked my wind out 😱and it was a rollercoaster from there but trust Carleigh to bring her wit to the table and calm us all down despite her pain and she’s strong she’ll get through this she made it as a Marine 😉
The 2 people I despise the most got what was coming their way , justice has been served . Two people who love each other got their HEA 🥰 and now I wait for the next trip to Montana 📚❣️

Violent Little Thing is book #10 in the Don’t Hate Him series by Lani Lynn Vale and focuses on the characters Charleigh and Court. Charleigh is former military, a woman who knows her own mind and doesn't deal with fools! We see from the beginning of the story that she has been through her own tragedy, losing her best friend in a drunk driver incident which has shaped how she thinks and deals with people. Charleigh deals with a lot throughout the story, not only the person who killed her best friend, but also her boss, who is all kind of yuck! But thrown in all of this is Court, and their relationship is perfect, it has the right amount of seriousness and playfulness to keep you turning the pages. When you also add in Court's trauma, you kind of get two peas in a pod character wise!
Court, went to prison for killing his wife and unborn child (due to a medical condition), but can’t forgive himself. His wife’s family is making his life hell, and his own family have disowned him. Then along comes Charleigh, a woman who both intrigues him and frustrates him. Believing himself incapable of being in love again he knows his deal with Charleigh will be easy, that is until feelings do get involved!
This was a fast paced read with the usual Lani Lynn Vale snark, great characters and a fast-paced story. There are a few substories going on for both the characters: work, personal life, former lives, but it all comes together to generate one great story about finding love again with someone who doesn’t necessarily needs you but wants you.
ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review 😊

5 She’s Nothing But Trouble Stars!!
Talk about two people that shouldn’t work together it’s Court and Charleigh. The first time he sees her sets the tone for the entire book and their relationship and I loved every single minute of it!
These two have taken on the behemoth job of running two professional sports teams in their small town that have their own unique set of problems but also a common dominator that wreaks havoc throughout both organizations. What’s also apparent is their attraction to each other… but can they cross that line?
I loved getting to watch Court and Charleigh navigate their feelings and what’s going to happen to their teams. Court is a man that takes no prisoners, and everyone is subject to his criticism and his praise. There’s a specific person in this book that I was so ready for them to get their comeuppance and I was not disappointed.
This book had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. Between the slow burn leading to some very sexy times, the people trying to manipulate others, a person in Charleigh’s life that’s not so happy with her and all the family dynamics, I wasn’t able to put the book down. I read it in one sitting which is one of the things I love so much about LLV’s writing. I know when I start a book written by her, I’m going to be taken on a wild ride and this book is no exception. This series is SO GOOD and with each book I fall more in love with Sawtooth, Montana. I cannot wait for the next book cuz it’s going to be a doozy!

Are you looking for a series where every story feels unique, every couple gives you ALL the feels, and the characters are so relatable you can’t help but become invested in their journey?
Then the Don’t Date Him series by Lani Lynn Vale needs to be on your binge-read list!
We’re back in this addictive series with Violent Little Thing, book 10, and once again, Lani Lynn Vale delivers a story that pulled me in from the very beginning.
This time, we meet Courtland Navarro and Charleigh Lynn, and honestly, their pasts are gut-wrenching and heartbreaking. Both are carrying their own scars, and watching these two navigate their feelings, their vulnerabilities and everything standing between them made this such an emotional read.
But, of course, this is Lani Lynn Vale, so alongside the romance we get that perfect backdrop of suspense, danger and twists, keeping the pages turning as you desperately want to see where Courtland and Charleigh’s story will take them.
What I love about this series is that while every book gives us a completely different couple and story, each one still delivers those big emotions, relatable characters and addictive romance that make it so easy to become invested.
Another fabulous addition to a series that just keeps delivering. If you haven’t started the Don’t Date Him series yet, consider this your sign to start binge-reading!
💜 Read it for…
✨ A couple with heartbreaking pasts
✨ Emotional vulnerability and ALL the feels
✨ A romance wrapped in suspense

I love this series so much!
Charleigh and Court’s story does not disappoint!
Charleigh is a firecracker of a heroine and one I will not be forgetting any time soon. She’s five foot nothing but her attitude makes up for where her height is lacking. After losing her best friend in a tragic car accident her attitude on life changed drastically. She’s afraid to lose anyone else she loves so refuses to get close to anyone outside of her family.
Courtland Navarro has experienced tragedy and got the short end of the stick due to his body betraying him. The result was the loss of his wife and unborn child. He went from being a professional soccer player to running a mechanic shop with a new name. He has a unique disease where his body turns carbs to alcohol and now he refuses to eat unhealthily.
When he and Charleigh are asked to take over the running and owning of two professional sports teams they find each other in close proximity to one another. They find along the way that they have more in common. Court helps Charleigh through some tricky situations and Charleigh’s little firecracker personality starts to shine when she stands up Court.
This is a fantastic book with some unexpected plot twists that I absolutely loved! The writing is just as good as ever and I cannot wait to read the next book!

Violent Little Thing is one of those books that grabs your attention and unable to move from it. Courtland and Charleigh's story is filled with drama, witty banter, secrets, suspense and sizzling hot chemistry. These two definitely walk the line between love and hate, showing us just how intense the passion is between us. Charleigh was a little spitfire that was full of sass and vinegar and had you falling hard for her character. The protective nature they had towards each other steals your heart showing just how deep their love ran even when they hadn't faced up to their own feelings yet. The suspense and drama keep you on the edge of your seat unsure where this storyline will take you. The heat and steam between them will definitely keep you warm on a cold winter's night. A storyline and characters that draw you into their world and have you feeling like you are a part of it. Your emotions will go from one extreme to the other and at times will have your heart pounding and your pulse racing. Your heart will ache for what Court has been through and what he has lost but the way Charleigh stands up for him will have your chest bursting with pride. As always, the author gives us a beautiful glimpse into the future for this couple with a great epilogue.

Undeniably entertaining! Filled with angst, heartache and healing, the next book in Vale’s Don’t Date Him series is non-stop drama and worth every single minute of your time. Courtland and Charleigh have sort of been drawn to each other with neither admitting to the fact, so when their mutual hatred of Seraphina puts them in close contact things become all too real in no time flat. He’s newly released from prison and thinks he’ll never get over his late wife’s death. She’s sassy and independent and doesn’t need a man. The back story for each of them is brutally angsty and hooks the reader to each of their stories right off the bat. I connected easily with both of them. The storyline is well developed with surprises we don’t see coming around several corners and a love story heating up quickly but with a deep connection to hold our attention. I loved every minute of Court and Charleigh and can’t wait for the next book in the series.
I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone who enjoys seeing an intense character with lots of baggage overcome their heartache and achieve love and happiness with a great supporting cast around them.

Court has a tragic past and instead of being able to grieve his loss he was found guilty of a crime he wasn’t responsible for and was ostracized by those who should have supported him. Now that his charges have been overturned he moved to Montana and has taken a control position in a woman’s soccer team and a men’s football team to help out Beau, a friend, by ensuring that his toxic sister doesn’t destroy them.
Charleigh has a tragic past of her own and wants revenge against the woman who was responsible for the death of her best friend. She is willing to ensure that happens even if it means working with Court despite the grudge she holds against him. As she spends time with him she soon realizes that a grudge is not what she feels for him despite all the challenges they are facing.
Although the situations from their pasts are different it also gives them a great understanding of each other. The interactions between them are humorous, the twists keep coming and the back story of these characters will draw you in and the love and support they have for each will touch your heart.

Court & Charleigh: triggers- alcohol abuse, DUI, sexual harassment, family discord and abandonment, stalking, grief and loss. Oooh, I've been waiting for this one. Not only to see which couple would get their love story, but to see what happens with Hux’s sister from the previous book. This story follows Court, the new majority owner of the male and female soccer teams and Charleigh who used to be best friends with Hux's sister. Court spends his time watching Charleigh and running his teams. He's definitely got a thing for her but everyone knows she doesn't like him. Court just doesn't know why she doesn't like him, until they set a plan on motion to become majority owners in the team and also having Court be the buffer against Charleigh’s boss. Once again LLV attempts to rip your heart out while simultaneously making you want to blush and yell in anger. Charleigh and Court are cute and extremely hot. ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 I loved it.

I've been eager to read Court and Charleigh's story and Violent Little Thing does not disappoint. Court has such a sad past and he carries a heavy weight of guilt. As a reader you really understand why he doesn't want to take emotional risks. Charleigh is a feisty tiny ball of rage and prickliness. She has suffered loss and has never really found her place.
These two are sort of adversaries. But you never really feel any heat behind their enemies energy. Instead there is a genuine bond of understanding. They have both suffered and find a level of healing in the other. Court never believes the prickliness and sets his sights on wooing and protecting her. And once the spark is lit these two have better chemistry together than they do as half hearted enemies.
This book is sassy, funny, emotional and with a perfect level of LLV suspense. There is always an element of risk that underlies the narrative and we always get a super satisfying conclusion to both the romance and intrugue.
Another great addition to this series with a protective MMC and his feisty FMC.

This is the tenth book in the series. Right off the bat the prologues were rough for me to get through because I knew what was coming. Just rip my heart out right from the start. Reliving a certain part all over again damaged me all over again. The emotions this book pulled out of me. Both Court and Charleigh deserved some happiness. Life has really thrown everything at these two. This is a great enemies to lovers romance. Charleigh is not a fan of Court, but soon she sees the man beneath it all. I loved Charleigh's bird Petter. Such great comedic relief with him. There are several nasty characters that need to see some justice. I was hooked on this book and finished it in a day and a half. I really liked Court and Charleigh. The epilogue was the chef's kiss for this book. This book delivered on the heat, heart, humor, and suspenseful moments that had me gripping my kindle. I can't believe there are only two more books in this series.

Love love love love loved this book. I had to force my self to put it down at night and go to bed.
My favorite genre to read is enemies to lovers. It makes for the best foreplay. Charleigh does not like Court at all since he bought her grandfathers auto repair shop and she had her sites on buying it from him. Needless to say their encounters have been anything but friendly even when he is helping or saving her. Realizing they needed to come together due to the same enemy and stop her from ruining two sports teams and others lives with her recklessness. After awhile Courts closed off heart starts to open and warm up to Charleigh something he thought would never happen after his wife died.
But oh boy do the sparks fly between these two when there is no hatred and avoidance going on.
Court is just the sweetest and most attentive and protective man….swoon

Absolutely loved it, once again Lani has kicked it out of the park! See my sports reference there haha. I love this series and getting to know more of the characters each month, make me feel like I’m apart of the group. Well I want to be haha.
This book follows courtland and charleigh. There two have a mutual dislike for drink driving for obvious reasons and I whilst they might not like each other, these thing can change when your come together to fight a force you don’t like.
This series has me in a chokehold and I need it to continue forever. I recommend picking it up asap if you love small town romance with a side of crime haha.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of Violent Little Thing and for that I am very grateful.

4 Stars
Violent LIttle Thing is book ten in Lani Lynn Vale’s Don’t Date Him series and is Charleigh and Courtland’s story.
After the last book with all the Seraphina drama, I was excited for this one to play out. Courtland and Charleigh are great and their chemistry is spot on. I definitely loved the whole “enemies to lovers” vibe they have going on and when they finally give in, it’s magnificent. I have to admit I was a little disappointed with how things with Seraphina went down. It was very anticlimactic for me lol. I would have liked a different ending for her, but it worked out. Overall, I really enjoyed these two and at the end of the day, it’s another great LLV story and I can’t wait for more from this series.

Violent Little Thing was far more emotional than I expected. While we were introduced to the tragic loss of Charleigh’s best friend in the previous book, Well Aware, experiencing it firsthand through this story was truly heartbreaking. Court’s journey as he navigates the grief of losing his wife and unborn child is equally heart-rending.
Charleigh and Court are absolutely perfect for each other. I loved watching them protect and fight for one another as Lani Lynn Vale took them on a journey filled with dark secrets, workplace drama, and the ongoing confrontation with Seraphina, the drunk driver responsible for the death of Charleigh’s best friend. This series only gets better with every installment, and I’m genuinely sad to see it nearing its end.

Violent Little Thing by Lani Lynn Vale delivers everything I love about her writing! The Don’t Date Him series features some of her absolute biggest villains—when they’re bad, they are really bad—making it so satisfying to root for the good guys. Finally seeing Beau’s evil sister, Seraphina, get her just deserts was worth the wait alone.
Court and Charleigh are pure magic together. Court is the ultimate quiet, grumpy hero with a tragic past, while Charleigh is a 5’0” former Marine who is basically a feral chihuahua in the best possible way. Watching this grumpy-meets-grumpy duo fall in love just felt so right.
Lani’s books are like a delicious monthly treat—a fast, addictive snack of a read that you savor from cover to cover while immediately looking forward to the next one!

Please note my rating is based on how I felt reading compared to other books in this must read series, although personally I felt like one of the plot threads I was looking forward to was let down and only briefly mentioned a few times.
BUT I could almost forgive that considering what all else happened between the pages.
So much happened that my brain and heart felt like they were both running a never ending obstacle course (and I don't run!)
One major thing (finally) gave the book huge plus points and another made me sad all over again.
I adored this couple together and how they gave each other strength no matter what was thrown at them (and it was a lot!)
Definitely recommend this book if you are up to date with the series.

I think I have found my favorite book by LLV!!! And it’s all because of Charleigh!! Lord help but I love that pint size woman and it’s because I see a lot of myself in her. She maybe small but she’s fierce is all that came to my mind the entire time I read the book. And the Court oh Court he was put the the wringer over something that he had no control over. And I’m so glad that all of that story came out. I loved the love/ hate relationship that Court and Charleigh had at the beginning. The pull they had towards each other was undeniable and I loved watching it play out!! I can’t wait for the next book!! I highly recommend this series!!!

I read & listened to audiobook. Both were awesome.
Charleigh and Court’s story was full of drama and twists I didn’t see coming. Couldn’t read this book fast enough.
After reading this series, I knew some of Charleigh’s story. Court hasn’t has easy time either. So these two have more in common than their realise. Even if they haven’t gotten very well so far. Now they are both co-owners and have to spend more time together. Sparks fly!
But you will know, if you’ve followed this series, things are never that simple.

This is Court's book and when I found out I screamed in excitement! YEEEESSSS!
Lani Lynn Vale has been leaning into slow burn romantic suspenses lately and I am HERE FOR IT. She has incredible character development/build up that makes the BEST tension, suspense and spice! So good. Also her books have such great plots with twists that surprise me and leave a lasting mark.
This book hooked me from the start and had me on the edge of my seat. You HAVE to read it!

Court and Charleigh!
I loved them both so much!
Both have gone through an unimaginable pain in similar situations and it really brought them together in a way.
Charleigh is angry. Angry at everyone, angry at life for being unfair and Court. He peed her off without even knowing or trying.
Court thought he had all but given up and was just going through the motions when he got offered a second chance.
This series is amazing always a binge read!
