THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT, THE RED STORM, THE PURGE, THE NEXT SET IN HUMAN EVOLUTION?

9/25/26 Review:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Red Storm (Chaos Forever Book 3) by Scott Moon is an action-packed thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat to see how Jason, Maddie, Vicky, Trudy, Buddy - Mud Cakes, the rest of their group work their way from Kansas to California in search of Jason's ex-wife, his two daughters, and a safe place to escape the Red Vapor that was unleashed on the world bringing down governments and taking out the majority of the world's population. You'd think that with the majority of the population killed off that the remaining humans would band together for the survival of the species but that not the case. Around every corner, the run up against bandits, kidnappers, rapists, murderers, and enslavers. If that wasn't bad enough, they still have to fight their way through the group of assholes that sent the Red Vapor loose on the world.

The Red Storm group facilitated the Crimson Purge killing off more of the population that they wanted too but that didn't stop them from killing off more of the survivors with the needle drones because they believed that the remaining population was just to stupid and stubborn to let the Red Vapor take its effect on them instead of running. They didn't care that the majority of the population would be killed and that few if any survived as long as they themselves survived and repopulated the new world after the purge was completed. The Red Storm themselves are also heading to the west coast to board a ship to take them to a mysterious island in the Pacific Ocean they call "Promise", a garden of Eden, a sanctuary from the Red Vapor, a place that they can control and populate the world with those they term desirable.

The characters are well developed and you'll find yourself drawn to see how they deal with each situation they come upon that is trying its hardest to kill Jason and his small group off before they can make it to California. At times, you'll be at the edge of your seat to see if they'll survive and then in the next minute you'll find yourself laughing at the interaction between the cast, especially that of the dialog between Maddie and Jason.

I just love it when an author adds a list of characters at the front of their books or the back. Scott has done both. In the beginning of this book, Scott has included a description of the main cast in his "previously in Red Vapor' while bringing his readers up to date with what transpired in his first book in this series and then again at the end of his book, he's added his 'Chaos People' giving the reader a more detailed description of the main cast. Thank you, Scott.

Book three is a wonderful addition to this series and leads into the fourth book that will only be intriguing, suspenseful, and action packed as the previous. I can honestly state that I am already more than a quarter of my way through the fourth book prior to writing this review. If you're into an action apocalypse thriller with tough as hell characters that will do just about everything and anything to protect each other, protect the innocent along their travels, and put the assholes of the world they run across down for the count, this book and series is for you.

Good Story So Far

This is an interesting story. Finally, the original group is finding each other. I like Jason. He seems like a survivor and protector but he's taking a lot of beat downs. Maddie is a child with a foul mouth but it's only thing's she's gotten from family over the years. I like these characters though, they're entertaining. I know what Mud cake can do but not sure about the dashound yet. This seems like it's going to be a long series but its good so far. My only issue is the continuing introduction of every character. I hope that stops.

Another very good installment in the series. Can't wait to see what Scott does next. Unpredictable and well done Moon man!
