Lockwood Falls #2

Web of Sins: A Dark Why-Choose Mafia Romance

Rate this book
“The body is planted. My dental records, altered. Come dawn, the news crews will be abuzz at Ransom River, everyone will think I’m dead, and I will be far, far away from Lockwood Falls.”

I escaped. My loved ones think I’m dead, and I need it to stay that way. I have been on the run for months now, never staying long enough for people to notice when I leave.

Everything is going well until I’m chased out of my current home. While I’m fleeing, desperately trying to keep myself hidden from the monsters who want to keep me, I run into two unlikely protectors. One of them makes me an offer that I can not refuse. My body for their protection. It’s hard to say no to him.

That is, until they bring me home. When my past catches up with me, I have no choice but to face it head-on.

The twins with an unsavory relationship.

The cold, unfeeling, quiet one, with a sweet side.

The man who saved me.

The man who condemned me.

Will I be able to survive in their Web of Sins?

Web of Sins is book two in the Lockwood Falls Universe. It can be read as a standalone; however, I recommend reading it after Three Psychos. This book is a why-choose romance. This means that the main character will have multiple love interests and will not have to choose between them. The men in this book will also end up with each other. This book is considerably darker than the first in the series. Please check all content warnings before proceeding.

I went into Web of Sins without reading the previous book, Three Psychos. Even though this is part of a series, the author notes it can be read as a standalone—and I completely agree. I never felt lost when it came to the characters or the storyline. While this isn’t usually my go-to genre, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The story pulled me in, and the pacing kept things engaging throughout. If you’re curious about stepping outside your usual reads, this one is worth checking out!

Spice level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

A huge thank you to the author for selecting me as an ARC reader. I’m grateful for the opportunity—this review reflects my personal opinions.

Faking your death should set you free. Unless the men who owned you refuse to let you go.
Web of Sins opens with a prologue that immediately sinks its claws in—our FMC, Liana, faking her death while watching her brother’s best friend drive past, unaware it’s the last time she’ll ever see her family. From the jump, the tension is sharp, emotional, and heavy with sacrifice. She’s not running for drama—she’s running to survive.
Liana has already escaped one cage, and she’s determined not to trade it for another. Even when Ghost—mysterious, protective, and deeply entangled in the same empire she’s trying to flee—offers safety, she knows better than to trust pretty promises. Freedom comes at a cost, and this book never lets you forget that.
When Liana is found again, the story shifts into full survival mode. New identities. Constant movement. A woman who owns nothing except her fear and her will to keep going. The anxiety is palpable—you feel how close she always is to being dragged back to Lockwood Falls.
Enter the men.
Ghost. Darwin. Quantum. Catalyst. Arctic.
Each POV adds another thread to the web tightening around Liana, and watching them slowly realize just how deep Ghost’s involvement goes is delicious. Catalyst’s POV especially stood out—cold, observant, and the only one not immediately falling apart over her… which somehow makes his interest even louder.
And yes—the tension is immaculate.
Lingering stares. Almost-touches. The slow realization that every single one of these men wants something different from her—and gives her something different in return emotionally.
Let’s talk spice 🌶️
Because when it hits? It HITS.
Group scenes? 👀 Absolutely.
Chemistry? Off the charts.
Emotional payoff mixed with filthy moments? Exactly what a reverse harem should deliver.
The plot twists kept me locked in, and I loved that Liana isn’t just collecting men—she’s reclaiming pieces of herself through each connection. Control. Safety. Desire. Choice.
Final thoughts:
If you love reverse harem, morally gray men, found-family tension, and a FMC who refuses to be owned again—Web of Sins is absolutely worth your time.
Dark, addictive, and unapologetically spicy. 🔥

Twists, Turns, and Top-Tier Spice: An Unforgettable Standalone.

Web of Sins is an absolute whirlwind! Even though this is part of a series, I jumped in without reading the previous book, Three Psychos, and I can confirm it works perfectly as a standalone. I never felt lost; the character dynamics and the storyline were clear and engaging from the very first page. While this isn’t my usual genre, the fast-paced storytelling and unpredictable twists kept me completely hooked.
The writing is so immersive that I actually had to put the book down to fume for a few minutes because I was so emotionally invested in the characters' journey. Just when you think you have the plot figured out, a new turn catches you off guard! The spice level is top-tier and definitely had me blushing, but it never overshadowed the high-stakes plot.
If you love "why-choose" or reverse harem books that balance intense chemistry with a gripping story, this is a must-read. Even if you’re looking to step outside your usual genre, this one is well worth checking out!
A huge thank you to the author for selecting me as an ARC reader. I’m grateful for the opportunity—this review reflects my honest personal opinions.

This book was dark and twisted and VERY spicy. I LOVED every page, but it has quite a few spelling and grammar errors that were distracting.
the first book of Lockwood Falls (Three Psychos) - Liana was missing, taken by the skin trade and chained, she was eventually found dead, her family buried her, they grieved.
In this book - Liana was on the run, going from city to city as soon as she felt like she was being followed, she turned to the only person she thought could help and ended up in a house of 5 men, one of them being her "protector" while captive.

The twist and turns… you just don’t see them coming! You can feel the emotions of the characters so much so that I had to put the book down for a few minutes because I was fuming at certain parts! I couldn’t let the book sit though. I had to know what happens next. And the SPICE! Oh goodness, it had me blushing and I loved it! I highly recommend this book to those that love why-choose and reverse harem books with an amazing plot!

This was amazing and had me hooked! I would read again. I read it in about 8 hours because I'm a fast reader and couldn't put it down. I'm still obsessed with with quantum months later!
