Blending a family isn’t simple—but with God’s grace, it can be beautiful.
Bringing two families together is one of the most meaningful—and most challenging—journeys a family can take. In Blended & Blessed, Inés Franklin offers hope and practical guidance for families navigating the complex realities of blended family life. Drawing from the timeless wisdom of Jesus’ Beatitudes, this book reframes blended families not as broken stories to fix, but as sacred spaces where God’s redemptive work is already unfolding.
With compassion, clarity, and deep faith, Inés speaks to the real tensions blended families face—co-parenting struggles, step-parent dynamics, loyalty conflicts, and the ache of past wounds that don’t simply disappear. Rather than offering quick fixes, Blended & Blessed invites readers into a slower, deeper transformation rooted in grace, humility, and trust in God’s design.
Inside this book, you’ll discover how
Break cycles of hurt and dysfunction that threaten unity
Build trust in co-parenting and step-parenting relationships
Cultivate resilience and togetherness amid changing family roles
Embrace God’s redemptive purpose for your blended family
Pass down a lasting legacy of faith, kindness, and grace
Whether your family is newly blended or years into the journey, this book provides a faith-centered path forward—one that leads from survival to wholeness.
Your family’s story is not defined by what came before. With God’s grace, it can become a story of healing, unity, and blessing.

Don’t mind me crying as this book ends (pregnancy hormones be like that). But also, this is my mom’s book and all focused on how we’ve spent the last 20+ years blending our family into what has become such a beautiful picture of God’s redemption (and what you can do to be the same as a blended family). It is timely, important, and incredibly helpful. Although it’s through the lens of our blended family, it could truly be for ANY family because what it teaches is universal truths about how we show up. I’m also so proud of my whole family, who truly has put in work. It hasn’t always been easy, but I’m grateful for all my siblings and their willingness to push through for the betterment of our whole family.
No spoilers. This book was written for blended families and from reading this book. I also believe it can be used for couples coming together for the first time in marriage. As it is about healing from past hurt and traumas as a family unit. And learning to do this in the way Jesus wants us to come together and love each other. It goes through the beatitudes and she walks you through how each approach is a step towards healing. I highly recommend this book this book I won this book in the Goodreads giveaway and I am grateful to God that I got to read this book. I can’t wait to read more books from this author. This book was a blessing.
A message that can be applied and re-applied in any season!
I really enjoyed reading Blended & Blessed. This book is anchored in Biblical truth, but it also feels so practical and approachable. Inés provides tools and perspective that challenged me in all the right ways, while also reminding me of God’s grace, healing, and hope for families.
What I appreciated most is that the message can be applied in any season and in any role you have within your family. You will feel loved, seen, and encouraged as you read.
I’m so glad I read this book, and I’m also looking forward to going through it again with family and friends in the future. I can already see how it would spark meaningful conversations, bring fresh perspective, and deepen relationships.
Blended & Blessed is a candid, Christ-centered look at family in a world of second chances. Inés Franklin avoids formulas and grounds healing in real story. Her core point is clear: building a family is hard—especially in blended dynamics—but it can be done.
What sets this book apart is its honesty. It does not avoid the tension; it faces it. In my Ugandan context, blended families are often uneven—women embrace their husbands’ children, while their own are often sent back to their fathers’ homes or extended family. This book challenges those patterns and calls for intentional, grace-filled work.
Franklin’s “smoothie” picture captures it well: family—and even the church—is a blend. When done right, different parts come together into something whole and life-giving. That does not happen by chance—it takes humility, mercy, and effort.
If you want a clear, grounded guide to building family well, this is worth your time.
This book is beautiful! Reading it brought me hope and fresh perspective. If you’re in a blended family, you will feel seen and loved. The storytelling is engaging and the practical tools at the end of each chapter is so helpful. Highly recommend!!
I was able to watch Ines live the stories in this book inincredible ways watching her and her husband continue to work through the journey of blending a family together while trusting Jesus with their story has been a incredible blessing and my wife and I are marriage their dedication to Jesus first and each other second is the only way that any of this is possible for anybody inquiring about this book that wants to learn how to love Jesus and love others and profound ways this book will help you.
Blended & Blessed is a strong God-centered resource for revitalizing family and personal relationships. Although our family has no step-relations to incorporate, we find the book helpful and profoundly encouraging in pursuing harmonious blending with in-law families and family members with varying personalities.
Carefully-selected Scripture guides readers to spiritual growth opportunities.
One of the most touching concepts is to realize while in the midst of relational hardship and strain, Jesus loves, sees, and encourages.
Don't let the title fool you. Blended & Blessed isn't just for blended families. It's for anyone who wants stronger, healthier relationships.
Inés Franklin does something rare here: she brings the Beatitudes into everyday life in a way that feels honest, grounded, and genuinely practical. Her writing is vulnerable and faith-filled without ever feeling preachy or overwhelming.
The heart of the book is this: real change starts with Jesus. Not trying harder, but heart transformation. And that message lands especially powerfully when you're dealing with messy or strained relationships. There's real hope for redemption and restoration woven throughout.
What I appreciated most was the balance of encouragement and action. Franklin doesn't just inspire you. She gives you simple, practical ways to apply what you're learning right away. Her personal stories make the material relatable and keep you engaged.
If you're looking for a fresh, faith-rooted perspective on the Beatitudes and tools to actually live them out in your relationships, this book delivers.
Hopeful, encouraging, and healing! Ines Franklin's writing is both down to earth and immensely insightful!
I really appreciated the many stories scattered throughout the pages of this book and Ines's willingness to be both vulnerable and authentic. I think many readers will find themselves in her stories and gain real tools and wisdom as it relates to the dynamics of blending families. I loved how she used the Beatitudes as a framework for how to go about the complex, sometimes painful, beautiful work of blending families.
This is a great book for anyone who has experienced divorce (as a child or spouse), anyone who is / or has experienced merging families together (in any capacity). This includes welcoming in-laws, etc. when your children get married!
I wholeheartedly recommend this book! Even people like myself, single and with no children, have close relationships with people who are navigating blended family dynamics, and there is wise insight here as to their situations. More importantly, the author has masterfully applied the best wisdom on any subject - the teaching of Jesus in his Sermon on the Mount - to suggest how ANY reader can be a force for healing and unity in their own relationships. A quick read whose brevity and simplicity belies its depth.
I'm not a blended family but this book is beautifully written and great insight and wisdom for all relationships! I love how Ines integrates the lessons from the Beautitudes into practical, everyday life - in any relationship! And I have friends and family in blended families so it gives me more insight on how to love them well. Blessed to read this and I hope you'll read it too!
Through the transforming power of Christ, this book inspires hope for redemption, healing, and renewed family connections.” Highly recommend this book for anyone in a relationship but especially if in a blended family.
