In the dark underworld of Ashville, crime, deceit, and blackmail reign supreme. Everyone wants that little piece of leverage—that one small key to getting ahead.
Aubrey would be happy—and lucky—to simply make it out alive. After falling in debt to one of the city's most dangerous men, she found herself caught in a dispute between two brothers who will do anything to see each other suffer. Aubrey knows she's only a pawn in their game and her only hope is to find some key of her own—a way to guarantee her own safety and the safety of her family.
Colt has a long and sordid past with the criminal element. He knows how the game is played and has found himself on all sides more times than he cares to remember. Aubrey is his newest escape route, but their tentative alliance is doomed to crumble if Colt can't find a way to fulfill his end of the bargain with Devlin.
How will Colt and Aubrey handle Devlin's newest threat?
I never expected life to be easy, but this…. It’s no dream It’s no nightmare. It’s the reality of a girl who was determined to make it on her own. I shot for the moon, got fucked by gravity, and landed in the underworld of the city. Caught between two men—brothers—both equally handsome as they are dangerous. Sex, drugs, and alcohol are the only recognized currencies. Stealing and deceit aren’t just a way of life—they’re a survival skill. A requirement to make it through the next night alive. People say that looks can be deceiving, but what they fail to realize is that often, even the truth is deceiving. Devlin promised to help. Colt promised the truth. The only thing they really want is to see me suffer—each in his own demented way.
If you’re looking for rainbows, butterflies, and happy endings coated in chocolate and caramel, turn back now! This is a work of serial fiction, so it will be released in distinct parts with no resolute ending until the end of the series.

Spoiler Ahead This was book 2 in the "Redline" series and it pick up where book 1 left off. Devlin and Colt are working to completely destroy each other and Aubrey is caught in the middle. Aubrey is now living with Colt. She also finds herself in another difficult situation because she's not the only one who's being threatened, now her family has also become involved. Audrey begins to understand Colt's true intentions and continually questions him on all his plans. She's determined to get to the root cause. With Colt’s history with the criminal element he knows how the game is played and has found himself on all sides more times than he cares to remember. Aubrey is his newest escape route, his new high but their tentative alliance is doomed to crumble if Colt can't find a way to fulfill his end of the bargain with Devlin. This was a good book the sex scenes were also hot. This book was well written like the first book with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
OMG!!! Let me go find Callahan and shake her. Another cliffhanger, I'm so glad all these are out and ready for me to devour.
Torque starts right where Ignite ends. Aubrey battling Colt, she traded in one villain for another. The plot thickens in book two. Some of the mystery unfolds and I'm dying for the next big explosion. I'm completely hooked. I have all these theories rolling around in my head, I just can't read fast enough.
Oh, the characters. Aubrey is a strong heroine, fighting to remain unscathed from Colt's deviant ways. Mind you, she's better woman than I am, I'm in love with the freaky bastard. He's damaged, flawed, and unapologetic about his needs. She knows he's using her, and I absolutely love the wall she is trying to keep up. Nothing about her screams, damsel in distress. What a refreshing twist in the dark romance scene.
Two brothers fighting for what? I have to know how this will go. What's the mystery behind Aubrey's past... All their pasts seem etched in mystery. There's so much to discover yet. I need to go, I need to start the third book.
I prefer cars to people. Simple as that. There's nothing like the roar of a V8 engine, especially if I just stole it and I'm barreling down the highway past every oblivious cop in town. I need adrenaline. The rush. The never-ending pull. It's the only thing that keeps me away from my other vice... And then, I decided to bring a stripper home. Someone I can introduce to my love of pain. And even better, a pawn in my ultimate plan for revenge against my brother. Call me cliche. Call me petty. But once this plan is set into action. Ashville will never be the same.
WOW! I 100% recommend you first read 'Ignition'(Redline #1). Torque is the continuation of the dark and seedy Redline Series and it's oh so good!
Aubrey is now residing with Colt. She finds herself in a difficult predicament because she's not the only one who's being threatened, her family has also been involved. Audrey begins to understand Colt's true intentions and continually questions him on all his plans. She's determine to get to the root cause.
"You don't fight to survive a fire by stoking the flames that are out to singe you."
There is much more to Colt's story. His past and his addiction has made him who he is today. He feels nothing, he has only one goal and Aubrey maybe just another pawn in his game.
Aubrey has become pretty ballsy. She's not backing down, she has more than herself to think about and keep safe. Colt reveals his true dominate, vengeful colors. He's scary in his own right, however Colt maybe the lesser of the two evils. The story is moving quickly, bringing us deeper into a dark, seedy, dangerous world. The ending is a cliffhanger and I can't wait to see what comes next.(Slightly cringing with anticipation)
Aubrey has decided to be with Colt for the six months, but quickly she regrets it by the way Colt treats her. When Colt met with Wilson to set a meeting between Wilson and his bother Devlin which was part of the deal between the brothers, Wilson would only agree to the meeting if Colt get something for him that belongs to Merc who is Devlin's father and Colt's step - father. When Colt left Aubrey alone to go to work she got a surprise visit from Devlin.
I loved that this book continued right on from the previous story in Colt’s POV… damn, his character is drop dead hot. I loved getting to know more about both Colt and Aubrey and what they’ve been through to get to where they were. Their connection with each other just grew and I loved the back and forth between them even in those heated moments. Since Colt knew his cars and was a car thief I’ve been dying to find out what kind of car he actually drives! But no mention of it… yet.
I think it has been to long since I read the first book because I felt lost in this story trying to figure out what was going on. What I get her is that two brothers are feuding and Audrey is caught in the middle but I do not understand or remember how or why she is in this predicament. I will push on to the next book and hope that some answer come.
Another fast paced exciting installment to The Redline series. I am so happy Skye decided to do a series like this. I am absolutely hooked on it. Aubrey is still trying to cope with being trapped between Colt and Devlin and its getting to be too much for her. She is in over her head and the chances of her getting out are growing more and more less likely. However, she has a lot at stake- now more than ever and will do whatever possible to keep the few people she does have in her life safe. I should hate Colt. I really should. He pretty much rapes her. (Although she did overall consent to being his for a period of time) but the forcefulness is still disheartening to read at times. But there is something about him that keeps him just on the right side of the line of hate. I’m not sure what it is exactly but I have a feeling when this storyline is all said and done I may just end up loving him **knock on wood** Colt-despite being an asshole and using Aubrey like he is- he is also trying to help her. As much as he tells himself that it’s for his sick twisted pleasure/pain as well as to get back at Devlin- (which it is), I also can almost feel his fierceness in his protection of her. As much as he won’t admit it I feel like she is getting under his skin. We get a little tiny bit of Colt’s background and reasoning for why he is how he is- especially when it comes to women. The ‘romance’ in this book/series so far is lack- but that’s expected with the nature of this storyline. Skye still brings plenty of emotion with the fast paced/forbiddances’ of the story. I cannot wait for the next installment. We were left with another – seemingly a little bit predictable cliffhanger. But it’s all worth it.
Okay it was a relatively easy to get through the cliffhanger from Ignition because Torque was already sitting on my Kindle ready to be started. I also know that I have Brake since it was pre-ordered and is out now so I know the cliffhanger that was at the end of Torque wasn’t going to be too bad. But, wow what a cliffhanger! I now can’t wait to dig into Brake!
I am a blogger on TaSTy WordGasms and one of my bloggers is to review this series. But, after I saw the synopsis I felt that I needed to read these books. Ignition was free and Torque was only $0.99 so these books were ready to be started and I had pre-ordered Brake. Thank goodness it is out now! I am really enjoying this Redline Series.
If you are thinking about reading these books please do read the WARNINGS because these books are DARK. If you don’t like anything in this WARNING then don’t read these books. But, if you really like DARK books you will love this series! Oh and if you LOVE HAWT books you won’t be sorry! This is about as hawt as it can get without setting you on fire! I am copying and pasting the WARNING here for you to read!
***WARNING*** If you’re looking for rainbows, butterflies, and happy endings coated in chocolate and caramel, turn back now!
This is a work of serial fiction, so it will be released in distinct parts with no resolute ending until the end of the series.
I love these books and it is time for me to start on Brake! These books were not ARC’s. I just had to read these books and I am glad I did. 5 STARS!!!!
This isn't a stand-alone. You must read book one first. The Dark and trigger warning hasn't come in to effect, yet. I'm hoping with that cliffhanger, it's on the way. I still lean more toward thriller genre, as of this book. Okay so the ground work was laid for an interesting book as we came to book two. This book was fast paced with all things criminal. We also get more in-depth into our characters. Aub's is still digging for answers to things Colt has no answers to. If course Devlin the Devil, is still ever present and on a mission to make everyone pay in his adventure to own the city and everyone in it. I was disappointed that this book ended at 83% on a cliffhanger. If book three wasn't out, it would of effected my rating. With that said, I'm off to book three. If you're looking for a fast paced, short read, with character and plot, read these books.
Torque continues where Ignition left us, going deeper into the darkness. This book continued with a fast pace storyline and some adrenaline fueled situations. There were some extremely hot scenes as well as heart-dropping ones. I continued to be on the edge on my seat with book 2.
We learn more about Colt, his issues and get a bit more understanding of his motivations for getting involved with Aubrey. I loved seeing the sexy dominant side, as well as a few vulnerabilities in his character. There is more there than he wants you to see.
Finding out more about Aubrey gave me understanding of her situation and therefore I liked her more. I love how feisty she is and how she questions everything. She is able to hold her ground quite well with Colt, despite his dominance.
After choosing Colt, Aubrey is fighting hard to remain immune to Colt's depraved games after learning she's no more than a pawn in the fight between Colt and Devlin. Colt and Aubrey manage to rile each other upon their alliance, but it is a unhealthy alliance - maybe so but it makes it more interesting, freaking hot with Colt's depraved thinking.
There is something about both Colt's past fuelling his feud with Devlin, while Aubrey is fighting for freedom for her and her family. Aubrey is a strong willed determined heroine but how will she fair after that ending? so starting book 3 is a must with a need to know what's gonna happen.
I love the car boosting, it makes for another dimension of thrills.
Following on from Ignition, Aubrey is still piggy in the middle of Colt and his brother and her situation doesn't look like it's going to improve any time soon. Colt is fighting his own battles, he does things he shouldn't do, regrets it, then does what he does best and behaves like an ass (I LOVE this man). Fighting his addiction and plotting his revenge, while been pulled in different directions and dealing with Aubrey, he's struggling to cope. With enough drama, tension, sex and loads of attitude i highly recommend you read this book if you like a dark romance, preferably after you've read book one. Can't wait for more from Colt and Aubrey.
Loved this follow up book.It is a dark and gritty romance that has the characters dealing with a lot of personal issues, issues with their family and loved ones and outside pressures. If book 1 was the ignition of the relationship of Colt and Aubrey, then this is the one where relationships are being stretched and tested to the limit for these characters. But Aubrey is no meek bystander she stands up as best she can, but there is more to Colt than just meets the eye. I know i may sound vague but this book is full of so many amazing surprises and the writing is phenomenal. This series is amazing.
I liked it! I just did not love it! But a lot of that could be me! I'm not fond of these chapter type books! I don't mind them when they are done well , released on time and when each one adds to the storyline!!! How ever when they are just filler, take forever between releases or the good old bate and switch, you know when the price just keeps going up! Those I hate!! And I'm almost positive this author made a dedication to never to do that, that she herself was an avid reader and hate when authors did that! Well I could be wrong or the appeal was just to stronger!!!!
I thought book 1 of this series was good... Torque is just as good, if not, better! This is a really great dark series. I find it even more appealing because of the fact that it actually has a decent storyline behind it! And while I'm still not super attached to Aubrey, I'm starting to get attached to Colt. Especially in that last chapter, you start to see a different side to him.
I got the set of the first 2 books in the redline series free, and I'm glad I took the chance. Not all free books are as good as they seem to be. I will definitely be checking out the third book in the series! I need to get over this cliffhanger! Wowza.
This between Colt and Aubrey are not getting off to a very good start.
Colt has plan for his brother Devlin but he needs the help from someone that he doesn't know if he can trust. When that wants him to do a job and turns around throws the past in his face it makes him paranoid. Then things get heated between Aubrey and him just because he wants to know why. What is revealed between the two make Aubrey rethink things. When things are going good and you think things can't turn for the worst they do. But will Colt be able to do anything for Aubrey?
Colt has me on edge. I am fearing for his recovery and hoping to find answers. His past is dark and his heart is full of pain. I am rooting for him to find some peace. Aubrey is having such a hard time accepting her choice and now with added threats from Devlin her world is spinning out of control. There seems to be no escape for her, if Devlin isn't torturing her with his threats Colt is torturing her with himself !! Again Colt's kind of torture seems to be the better choice. You really don't know which way things will go BUT of course we are left with a major cliffy !!
Wow! I was given this ARC for an honest review. I highly recommend reading Ignition first because it's the start of the series and besides...it's free (no-brainer!!) In this continuation Aubrey is now living with Colt to "pay off her debt". She is being pulled deeper into a dark and dangerous world trying to not only protect herself but her family as well. Colt has many of his own issues but will he be able to save Aubrey? I can't wait for Brake!!
This book continues on where the first book left off. Aubrey continues to wonder if she will ever get out of the mess she has gotten herself into. In this book Colt seems like there are so many surprises that you did you really know about him that he never shows anyone else. Of course Devlin is just waiting out his time to strike and get Aubrey back to hurt Colt in the end. I was screaming at the end with how the author left the book hanging and can't wait to find out how everything ends.
The continuing story of Colt and Aubrey. This book lets you a little further in their lives and you see more about what drives Colt. I 'm patiently waiting for the next book. By the way my rating is a 4 and 1/2 stars. The story's getting better.
Now things are starting to get going! I really love Aubrey she has a lot of fight in her and do what she has to, to survive and protect her family. The ending almost killed me I was like "NOOOO!" can't wait to see what happens in book 3.
