She remembers.

Austea Eve Kette is a Lithuanian-born author who writes in English. A lover of languages, she has studied four, although English is the only one that has captured her rebellious heart.

She shares her life with three feline ladies and is currently a linguistics student, juggling her studies, a long-distance relationship with her partner of four years, and her passion for creative writing and video creation.

Her books, regardless of genre, are woven with magic and romance, inviting readers to escape reality and step into a world that feels like a story unfolding on screen.

I can't believe I've already finished this book. I'm already missing the story of Ettore and Teodora... Not many books can get me out of a reading slump like those written by Austea, both Before and After She Remembers keeping me up at night, as I couldn’t wait to come back to the story the next day. I love the language, which has a real old-world feel to it, and the vocabulary clearly implying that the characters are highly-placed in the society. It’s amazing that a non-native can write such an excellent, captivating story, that engages the reader from the very first pages. Also the way that both POVs are perfectly interlocking with each other, creating a flow in the narrative, is so satisfying. The descriptions used to delineate all the actions, thoughts and situations are so good, that I can see it with my mind's eye, easily visualising everything that is happening. I recommend it to everyone interested in novels set in the 60s that combine romance and thriller, and also anyone that would simply like to have a good read and be involved in a story for days on end!

Ever since I read the first part, I've been dying to dive in to the sequel, so I really appreciate the opportunity to be one of the first people being able to do so <3

I immensely enjoyed this book! Actually read it in two days, I was that hooked up on the story. It's the perfect mix of romance and tension, with characters that are both complex but likeable. The feature I love most about this book is the dual pov, so we can get to know the thoughts of both of the main characters. It's packed with incredible twists and turns, that I definitely not saw coming. It's deep, full of emotions and felt like an emotional roller coaster. I really liked the setting and getting to know more of the life of our characters. Last but not least, I really enjoyed the style that the book was written with, the beautiful and eloquent language.

I loved it ! It took me a sec to get back into it, but once I was, I had to force myself to go to bed instead of continuing my reading !!! We are so rooting for Ettore and Teodora. The relationship dynamic really changes as they uncover their identity. And trust me, prepare some tissues, because we have quite an ending that got me ready to tear up ! I recommended it ! Also, it reads itself so fast since it is extremely well paced, and it has little spice ! So, it is great for non spice lovers like me !
