Blindsided

Rate this book
The night Jade McKallen moves to London, the last thing the self-made business woman expects is to wind up in a dimly lit bar drinking away her troubles. She certainly doesn’t anticipate ending the night fogging up the mirror of the tiny bathroom with a charismatic, tattooed stranger. After a lifetime of being career focused, underestimated, and overworked—the temptation to let loose for once is too good to pass up. Besides, what’s the harm in a little fun when she’ll never see him again, right?

On the rugby pitch, Tieran Stone is a god. That is, until a very public scandal threw him off his game last season, costing them the Premiership. With a change in the team's ownership, the pressure to prove himself has never been higher. All he needs to do is stay focused, get his crushing anxiety under control, and stay out of the tabloids. But keeping his mind on the match proves to be difficult when the new owner of The Legends turns out to be the stunning woman with razor sharp wit he hasn’t stopped thinking about since their electrifying night together.

Jade thought her biggest obstacle when becoming the first woman to own a rugby team would be the men who feel entitled to her job. Instead, it’s the infuriatingly charming captain, and avoiding him is proving difficult when he’s on her tv, at work, and constantly on her mind. As Tieran slowly unravels the woman who’s always had to hold it together, and Jade sees behind the mask of easy smiles he wears like armor, they’ll have to find a way around the forces trying to keep them apart if they want to win the ultimate victory—each other’s hearts.

Definitely started to lose me near half way through but it picked back up immediately, Tieran and Jade were chef’s kiss 😚

₊˚ ౿ 🏉 pre-read !!
Signed up for this arc not realizing if I was accepted I’d get it during exam-prep season but we push through 😫

Anyway, a book with the FMC in a male-dominated field? Love to see it 🥹 this is an introduction to Violet Page for me so I truthfully don’t know what to expect

Me 🤝🏻 sports romance

I loved this. I eat up sports romance every time. I think with this one what i loved about it, was how British it is, and as a British reader i loved all the references and the fact it was rugby made it even better.

I loved the dynamic between the FMC & MMC.

Jade our strong & empowering female character in a male dominated field, with the black cat energy, and Tieran our loyal & protective male character with his golden retriever tendencies.

Both characters deal with stress and anxiety from other parts of their lives but seeing how they grow together and deal with it all was lovely to read. Jade supports Tieran in the most beautiful of ways. The way Tieran was obsessed with Jade from the minute he laid eyes on her was 🤌🏼. I love when an MMC is upfront and honest with his feelings, and Tieran DELIVERED on that front.

The found family vibes peeking through as well were making me giddy.

I think i was just really in the mood for a decent sports romance and this delivered for me.

I am sensing some crumbs of future couples for future books??? 👀

'Apparently, the joys of men underestimating women is a global epidemic, not limited to back home.'

A hot rugby captain looking at me like I hung the moon and occasionally calling me 'love'? I've got wobbly knees just imagining it 🤭

First of all, a huge thank you to the author and Love Notes PR for sending me an early copy of this book and trusting me with her work 💙 Even before I started reading, I had a feeling that this was gonna be good - but it still somehow exceeded all my expectations. I had such a fun time with these characters, and the writing was absolutely stunning!!

I'm not big on rugby, but after this… I might have to reconsider, because DAMN 🏉 Jade and Tieran are both so freakishly hot - truly a great day to swing both ways. This book simply has it all, tension, banter, spice… you name it.

Jade's character development - from being closed off with no friends, and a workaholic to someone who makes time for people and actually enjoys her life - was lovely to witness. Her friendship with Aanya and Lottie was so heartwarming and exactly what she needed. I love strong female friendships, and this book delivers. Watching her realize that she deserves happiness and begin to live for herself was so rewarding. The same can be said for Tieran's growth 🗻

Tieran, I fear, is the new standard 🛐 His golden retriever energy, his eagerness to help, and especially his friendship with Jade's dad absolutely melted my heart 🏹 I swooned every single time he claimed Jade as his girl - he's just so incredibly sweet to her. And his dog is named Pebble Stone 🐶 Hello? How cute is that?

Also… do I see a Cavan and Lottie book in the future? And maybe Aanya and Miles too? 👀

First, thank you to Love Notes PR & Violet Page for this ARC!

THIS! WAS! SO! FUN!!!!!!!
Gosh I love a good sports romance that’s swoony and angsty and pining and sexy! Violet Page, a new to me author, delivers all of that in spades!
This follows Jade, an Internet influencer turned business mogul, moving to London and buying a rugby team. On her first night in town, she has a steamy one night stand who we find out is the captain of said rugby team.
Jade is a boss queen who runs circles around any man but the one man that she can’t get out of her mind is our golden retriever mmc Tieran.

The chaos and tension work SO well. Violet does such a good job at the push and pull at the right moment. Making the reader scream JUST DO IT ALREADY AGAIN!

The side characters??? AMAZING! I am in love and Anaya and LOTTIE AND CAVAN!! Hehe next book better be the best friends little sister book! (May or may not have the confirmation it is hehe). And I know Myles and Anaya are technically together but I would LOVE a book for them!

And as someone who isn’t familiar with rugby, this was kinda easy to follow. My only small critique is maybe explaining the sport and some key positions to those who may not get sports but love to read sports romances! I had to google some terms and positions and that takes me out of the book when I have to do that.
Otherwise, FREAKING LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEE. I am so sat for this series!

Firstly thank you so much to LoveNotes PR & Violet Page for my ARC of Blindsided. I read Silver Linings last year and absolutely adored it, so I was desperate to get my hands on this book.

Violet Page is now officially an ‘auto-buy author’ for me. I absolutely adore her writing style, and Blindsided was no different, it had me laughing and crying, sometimes at the same time. Violet is able to write characters with such depth and does so in a way that makes them so relatable. I felt like this group of people were real and were very much my friends by the end of it, the same way I did with Silver Linings. I also found it so easy to empathise with the characters and their struggles, understanding why they made the choices they did. I loved learning about their experiences and families.

I spent so much time highlighting quotes, re reading lines and giggling. The romance between Jade and Tieran was so wholesome but also filled with so much tension. I adored Jade, my strongwilled girl, who never let a man talk shit. Tieran is a new god tier book boyfriend, his thoughtfulness throughout had me so emotional. The scenes with him and Jades Dad (IYKYK). I adored the found family, the female friendships, the banter, the setting, everything. Easiest five stars I’ve given this year. READ THIS BOOK. And if you haven’t read silver linings READ THAT TOO💙🩵

Thank you so much to Violet for sending me an ARC of Blindsided.
This is my honest review of this book and thank you for the advance copy.
I have to say it was my first time reading a book about rugby and I enjoyed every single minutes of this story.
I loved so much the characters: Jade a strong and fierce woman, who owns a strong personality and a rugby team and Tieran, such a good boy and OMG A BIG BIG GREEN FLAG.
Honestly I truly loved the book and personality it was a great journey to do. Discovering these characters as individuals and as a couples was significant for me.
Hope to have soon the second book, because I HAVE FAITH that the next couples will be the death of me.
Big mentions also for Pebbles the dog, she was a very cutie pie to see in actions .

the TENSION!!! 😩🥵 I loved this book. Jade is the ultimate IT girl but is everything as great as it seems?! I thought the character building of Jade and the boss bitch she is but whats underneath all of her success was done so well! Tieran was not backing down, he wanted Jade and he was going to show her what she’s missing!! This was my first rugby romance and I think i need to read more bc i LOVED it!

Also i am SO excited for book 2 and the small glimpse into that book couple in this book made me so excited!! 🤩🫶🏽

Publication date: 6th May 2026

Book 1, Legends of London

A spicy sports romance for readers who enjoy -
🏉 6ft tall rugby players with thigh tattoos…
🇬🇧 A bad-ass girlboss FMC
🏉 A man who is DOWN BAD & totally owns it
🇬🇧 Banter, wit & sarcasm for days (weeks & months)
🏉 Black cat FMC x golden retriever MMC
🇬🇧 Open door spice (from the jump!)

~ plot ~

Fiercely independent self-made business woman Jade McKallen doesn’t do one night stands. The exception? A 6ft tall, God-like mystery man in a London pub bathroom. It’s one night, he’s hot, she needs to let her hair down before starting her new job & London’s a big city, it’s not like she’s ever going to see him again.

Rugby player Tieran Stone has had it rough. His last season was a bust, as was his last relationship & while his mind should be solely focused on the game, he just can’t stop thinking about his pub bathroom escapade & the mystery woman he shared it with.

When Jade turns out to be the new majority owner of Tieran’s rugby team, their worlds are thrown into chaos. But while he’s openly obsessed & she’s trying/failing to fight it, the world around them seems determined to keep them apart.

~ review ~

I don’t really know where to begin but I do really want to know where I can buy a Legends shirt??
Violet Page, you broke my heart & mended it in one fell swoop & I absolutely adore you for it.

Blindsided is a heartwarming, heart-racing, soft but spicy, banter filled rugby romance that reels you in & doesn’t let go. It’s an emotional rollercoaster with a brilliantly impactful push-pull relationship. It’s witty, full of banter & british humour that will have you laughing out loud but on the flipside, it’s tense, emotional & I suggest getting your tissues ready.

Violet’s writing is so immersive & enthralling that it totally envelops you. Whether it be characters, plot, setting, or something else, every single aspect is so well thought out & perfectly explained/explored.
Both London & the world of rugby are brought to life. I didn’t just find characters likeable & the connection I made with them wasn’t just surface level. I FELT with them, laughed with them, grew with them & became part of their circle.

Romance wise - 10’s across the board, 4 yes’s & golden buzzer. I mean talk about starting off with a bang!? 👀… Jade & Tieran’s journey delivers heat, tension, angst, yearning, banter, palpable chemistry, vulnerability, growth, tender moments & a slow burn that does in fact, slow burn. The payoff however? Major. (While you’re grabbing tissues, maybe grab a cold flannel too).

Do I recommend Blindsided? HELL YES! But take my advice, don’t sit down at night to read a ‘couple of chapters’ because next thing you know, you’re bawling - happy & sad tears - & you have to be up for work in 2 hours.

~ characters ~

Jade McKallen is the definition of girl-boss & has worked ridiculously hard to get to the level she’s at. Male dominated field you say? Ha! This girl chews ignorant men up & spits them back out & it’s GOLD. It seems like she has everything a person could want but beneath her strong willed, got it all figured out armour there’s something missing. I absolutely love her fierce side but her soft, vulnerable side is just as impactful. She helps Tieran find himself again but she finds herself too & the Jade we start with & the Jade we end with have 2 very different outlooks. A fantastic character with so many layers, the best banter & a heart of gold, please be my BFF 💖

You know those videos where the guy runs around waving a massive green flag? He’d be needing oxygen by the time this book is done. Forget book boyfriend, Tieran Stone is a book HUSBAND. There’s SO much more to him than meets the eye. A 6ft tall, charming, ridiculously hot, tattooed, giant puppy who’s loyal, protective, caring, wants the best for everyone around him, is a DOG DAD & don’t even get me started on his relationship with Archie! Are you trying to end me Violet!? His struggles with anxiety & self doubt broke my heart, but seeing him & Jade come together ultimately becoming each other’s safe space stitched it right back together again ❤️‍🩹

Cavan, Lottie, Aanya & Myles are fantastic side characters. This isn’t just a fantastic romance, it’s a heartwarming display of found family, Sisterhood & Brotherhood too. The way Jade opens up to the girls & lets them in is a huge part of her journey & I love how much respect the boys have for Tieran. It’s so refreshing to see big, burly guys be so open with their feelings! When I say I’m itching for the continuation of this series, I truly mean it.

~ final thoughts ~

Is it time for the next book yet??

A huge thank you to Love Notes PR & Violet Page for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC. This is my honest opinion & I’m sharing it voluntarily❣️

[Initial reaction - I’m fully in love. It’s 2am & I need time to process this masterpiece. RTF 🥹🥹💖💖]

First Impressions: An influencer and a down-and-out rugby player find companionship and forbidden love, which each mi h navigate their own changing goals and priorities.

Pacing: The book takes place over about a year, and the pacing feels very authentic for that passage of time.

Character development: Tieran (MMC) and Jade (FMC), while in completely different professions, both find themselves at crossroads. At the beginning of the book,Tieran's prowess on the field has significantly declined after being publicly dumped by his ex-girlfriend. He desires nothing except to go to the Olympics, but can't seem to get out of his own head. Jade, a wildly successful influencer and brand steward, longs to be out from under her manager-mother's thumb and believes investing in a rugby team make be her opportunity to pivot.
Through lots of bumps and hurdles (and lots of unhelpful meddling) Tieran and Jade join forces to set their lives on the right paths. Tieran regains his confidence and a healthier self image, and Jade finds freedom from gilded cage.
Also, I absolutely adore Aanya is a total girls' girl, and becomes such a wonderful friend to Jade. Too many romance books miss this critical relationship.

World Building: I've never been to the UK, but the book paints a gorgeous pallete of metropolis with endless food, art, and experiences. It contrasts with the quieter life Jade's father has found in retirement, just a stone's throw from Tieran's family home. Together the two locations create a rich tapestry upon which the narrative is crafted. And "Flick the Bean" is the best cafe name for a romance book.

Romance: Who doesn't love a saucy, forbidden workplace romance? I wouldn't call it an enemies-to-lovers, but Jade and Tieran have some fun oil-and-water banter throughout the book. Jade eventually realizes that both she and Tieran have deeply bruised hearts that need to be treated with tenderness and patience. Tieran sees how overworked and unhappy Jade is, trapped by her mother's ambitions. The romance is sweet, smart, and healing.

Spice: While not a terribly slow burn, good things come to those who wait. But author, Violet Page, does deliver on the naughties. The spice is sensual and deeply loving, but there is a notable scene atop the Eye of London.

Errors and Consistency: Four hundred and forty-two pages, and I found a single incorrect punctuation that I'm sure a good editor or beta reader will find.

Overall experience: I've never seen a single game of rugby, but I might be a fan for life. This was a wonderfully fulfilling romance with great banter, memorable side characters, and some truly touching and relatable moments.

🌶 4.5

And the secret main character, Pebble, is well and happy (possibly happier) by the end of the book.

I’ll just start by saying… if you were ever going to take a book recommendation from me, I hope it would be this book.

I’ve been so lucky to chat with Violet about this book for almost six months, and I cannot believe that in less than a week it will be in everyone’s hands and they’ll get to see just how incredible it is. I’ve sent her what would probably be considered an unhealthy number of messages and voice memos about how much I love this book… so much so that I cried...audibly...on public transport

I think I experienced every emotion under the sun while reading this (please see the slides for my message crashouts) but my GOD did this book wow me on absolutely every level.

There is genuinely nothing about this book that I can fault. I would enthusiastically give it stars. Everything Violet writes turns to gold for me. She is so intentional with her writing, and every character is built with a level of depth that I genuinely cannot comprehend in a book of only 400-odd pages. I feel like I know and care about these characters as if they’re my own friends and family.

This book kicks off with Jade and Tieran meeting and hooking up in chapter one, and when I tell you the tension that builds between them in the chapters until they FINALLY give in to their feelings… it is the sweetest kind of torture. I love smut as much as the next bookish girl, but when it’s paired with emotion and intimacy like it is here? THAT’S how you get me replaying scenes over and over long after I’ve finished reading.

Jade, my perfectly imperfect girlboss FMC who’s been told she’s cold and unfeeling, leaving her riddled with self-doubt. A type-A, perfectionist workaholic. I LOVED her journey to finding her confidence and her own self-love. There’s a reason she has catapulted to the very top of my favourite FMCs list. Tieran was never bothered by her thorns, and neither was I...she’s an absolute queen 👑

Tieran… THIS MAN. I genuinely don’t even have the words. He’s book husband material of the highest order. A walking green flag. He has his own hurdles in this story, and his battle with anxiety was handled so respectfully at every stage.

I loved the side characters so much - Cavan and Myles, who I cannot wait to read about in their own books. The love these men had for Tieran in his hardest moments had me on the floor. I love found family more than anything, and give me men who can talk about their feelings and stand behind them and I am ruined.

As soon as I finished reading this, I wanted to go straight back to page one and start again because I already missed these characters.

Thank you Violet and Love Notes PR for the eARC, reading this book was the biggest privilege.

Blind Sided by Violet Page
⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (3.5 / 5 stars)

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🏉🖤 “British rugby romance with black cat energy, golden retriever obsession, and SO much banter.” 🖤🏉
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

💌 First Thoughts

As a British reader?
This book felt SO fun and familiar.

The rugby setting, the references, the humour—it all felt incredibly authentic and honestly made the story stand out from other sports romances I’ve read.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

✨ The Dynamic = Elite ✨

🖤 Jade
Strong, independent, intimidating in the best way.
A woman thriving in a male-dominated field while quietly carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders. Her black cat energy? IMMACULATE.

🐶 Tieran
Golden retriever energy through and through. Loyal, protective, emotionally open, and absolutely gone for Jade from the second he sees her.

And honestly?
I LOVE when an MMC is straightforward about his feelings instead of playing games—and Tieran delivered on that perfectly.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

💥 What I Loved

✨ The banter & chemistry
✨ The British humour and rugby atmosphere
✨ The anxiety/stress representation
✨ The found family vibes peeking through
✨ Pebble Stone the blue staffy stealing scenes 🐾

Watching these two slowly lower their walls and become safe spaces for each other was genuinely beautiful.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

🏉💞 The Romance

This is definitely a slower burn romance, but the tension, flirting, and obsession made it worth it.

From their first meeting, you can FEEL how drawn they are to each other—even when both are trying to keep their emotions under control.

Tieran especially?
That man was down horrendous from day one.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

⚖️ Why 3.5 Stars?

While I really enjoyed the story and characters, there were moments where I wanted a little more emotional depth and pacing balance in certain parts. Some sections felt stronger than others for me personally, but overall it was still such an entertaining read.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

🔥 Tropes

• Rugby Romance 🏉
• Team Owner × Captain
• One Night Stand → More
• Black Cat × Golden Retriever
• Forbidden Romance
• Millionaire FMC
• He’s Obsessed™
• Anxiety Rep

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

💭 Final Thoughts

This book was fun, emotional, spicy, and surprisingly heartfelt.

If you love sports romances with:
✨ Protective MMCs
✨ Strong FMCs
✨ British humour
✨ Slow burn tension
✨ Found family vibes

…then you’ll probably eat this up like I did.

And honestly?
I already need the next couple’s book immediately. 👀

All-consuming romance with a forbidden twist. Because what could possibly go wrong when he works for her?

Give me a tattooed rugby player and a young, wildly successful social media mogul turned club owner and I was invested from page one.

Tiernan is tall, sexy, swoon-worthy, and effortlessly charasmatic... but beneath that calm controlled mask he wears? He’s fighting an internal war. Self-doubt, pressure from every direction, the fallout of a failed season, and a messy public breakup that left its mark but not how you would think.

Jade is running, looking for change without knowing truly knowing it. She is powerful, driven, and completely in control...at least that’s what it looks like to everyone around her. She’s built an empire and often has to fight for her space in male-dominated worlds. She owns every room she walks into.

But success doesn’t cancel out loneliness - and the cracks are starting to show. She’s the definition of a badass...but even she’s searching for something more.

He pushers her. She pushes him away. He challenges her. She challenges him right back.

But what she doesnt expect is for his mission to become her. His goal to become knocking her off balance and tearing down all those walls.

And in the midst of it all...she has become his calm. His peace. His anchor when he can’t find solid ground on his own. He’s absolutley gone for her. Completely.

The banter? Elite
The chemistry? Immediate.
The tension? constant.

And Aanya and Jade’s new blossoming friendship? Obssessed. Their friendship is unexpected, layered, and honeslty one of my favorite parts of the entire story!

Cav and Myles? Tiernan’s best mates and two of the ost fiercely loyal, protective friends he could ask for. The kind of guys who show up, no questions asked, and stand in the fire with you. They bring brotherhood energy that balances everything out and makes Tiernan’s world feel real, grounded, and solid.

This was my frist Violet Page read and it absolutely did not disappoint! The writing flows effortlessly, the dialogue feels natural, and the witty back-and-forth with have you smiling over and oveer.

This one started off with a bang and went right to the spice...slows into a burn...and then - BAM. We escalate (yes there may be an accidental visit to a sexy club involved).

Secretly hoping book 2 is Cav and Lottie’s story!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️– easy 5-star read for me!

I am actually OBSESSED with this book 😭🏉🖤 Blindsided completely tackled me to the ground emotionally and I loved every chaotic second of it. Violet Page really said “what if I gave you insane chemistry, emotional vulnerability, workplace tension, AND a tattooed rugby captain with anxiety?” and I simply never recovered.

Jade McKallen is THAT woman. Smart, driven, self-made, intimidating without even trying, and so used to carrying the weight of everything herself that she barely lets anyone close. Watching her walk into this male dominated rugby world and own it anyway was SO satisfying. She wasn’t written as cold either. You could feel the exhaustion underneath all that control and competence and it made me love her even more.

And then there’s Tieran Stone 🫠🥵
This man had me giggling and kicking my feet one second and clutching my chest the next. The contrast between his cocky charming public persona and the anxiety quietly eating away at him underneath absolutely wrecked me. He felt so REAL. The pressure, the panic, the fear of failing again after the scandal… my heart honestly hurt for him.

But together??? THESE TWO. Dear god.

The tension was immaculate from the very beginning. That first night together had sparks flying everywhere and then finding out she’s the new owner of his rugby team??? The DRAMA. The awkwardness. The longing. The constant push and pull between professionalism and wanting to tear each other’s clothes off at every opportunity 😂🔥

What I loved most though was how emotionally intimate this romance became. Tieran slowly seeing through Jade’s walls while Jade learns the man behind the easy smiles and flirting? UGH. It was soft in all the right places without losing the heat. They challenged each other, comforted each other, and genuinely made each other stronger.

Also the rugby atmosphere was SO good. The team dynamics, the pressure of the season, the media scrutiny, the ownership drama… it all added so much tension without overshadowing the romance. Everything blended together perfectly.

And the chemistry??? Absolutely ridiculous. Every glance felt loaded. Every argument felt like foreplay. Every vulnerable moment hit me directly in the soul. Violet Page wrote them with so much heart that I felt completely consumed by their story.

This book felt like standing in the middle of a storm under stadium lights while your heart does backflips. Sexy, emotional, empowering, funny, and deeply romantic all at once.

If you are looking for a book with a strong, independent FMC with an Obsessed MMC in a sports romance set in London, then this is the book for you. Blindsided is book 1 in the Legends of London series by Violet Page; this series will be an interconnected standalone following different couples for each book. I would firstly like to thank Lovenotes PR and Violet Page for giving me this ARC. Importantly, this book contains some triggering content, so please check the trigger/ content warnings before reading.

This was one of my most anticipated reads for the month, and it did not disappoint. The story was a mix of character and plotdriven, and I had so many intense moments that had me glued to my Kindle. I loved seeing how Jade adjusted to her new life in London , and seeing her meet new people who didn't take advantage of her for once, especially her next-door neighbour. As you read further into the book, I felt we did not just learn a lot about the main characters but also the side characters and what they are dealing with, leading to a good background for the next few books in the series. I do have to say that the tropes were done really well. I loved seeing the black cat and golden retriever. Each part came together really well, and the build-up to certain events also had me scared many times.

Jade and Tieran's story will be one that I will always remember. It showed so much tension and yearning from these characters, but sometimes in a way that was not really seen in romance books through Jade's side. Tieran showed so many times that he would do anything for her and was in it for the long run, and you could see how much he truly cared for her. Seeing his struggles as a professional rugby player was done really well, showing that sometimes the fear of failing can take over not just your mindset but also how you play, especially with the media and the public. Jade showed how even when you have it all, people will just take you for granted or use you. I do love how she found a really good friend who did not take advantage of her and helped her out so many times. Seeing how Jade would mask herself as being strong and working to make everyone happy made me really relate to her. Overall I love this book and hope you pick it up on release day ( 6/05/2026). Happy reading

Okay… this book surpassed my expectations!! 🤍✨

Before picking it up, I had just finished Silver Linings by Violet and completely fell in love with her writing style. Then Blindsided got me even more hooked.

Let’s start with the setting… London aka perfection 🇬🇧 I absolutely love London, and I’m familiar enough with it that I felt really immersed in the story. But even if I wasn’t, the descriptions made everything so easy to visualize. Also, rugby sports romances aren’t as big as other sports in the genre, so as a huge rugby fan, I was so happy 🏉 I’m Irish, so I’m very familiar with the sport in general, and I completely ate this up.

I also loved the contrast in American vs English vernacular. The characters had such distinct voices, and it was always clear who was American and who was English. The slang was PERFECT 🇺🇸🇬🇧

As someone who struggles with friendships, the bond that developed between Annya, Lottie, and Jade was so beautiful to read 🤍 Watching Jade finally find her girl gang felt really healing, and I loved seeing those connections grow naturally. At the same time, Jade as an FMC was everything. An influencer turned businesswoman, okay go off 👏 I loved how the story explored that typical influencer image and then showed the deeper, more vulnerable side of who she really is. She was strong, unapologetic, and didn’t shrink herself for anyone, especially men, and I loved that she was actually the more powerful and successful one. We need more FMCs like her in books ✨

Now the MMC, Tieran… HOT HOT HOT 🔥 If you know anything about rugby players, you already get it. But beyond that, his redemption and personal growth, especially as he finds comfort in Jade, was so good. His relationships with his friends and family felt raw and real. Their banter never felt cheesy, and that first night they met set everything up perfectly 👀

All in all, I cannot recommend this book enough!!! It’s your turn to swoon over rugby men for a change 😌🏉

✨ Tropes: ✨
• Forbidden romance
• Workplace romance
• She’s the boss
• Opposites attract
• Black Cat x Golden Retriever

Thank you so much to Violet for sending me an ARC of Blindsided 💌 I’m so excited to get my physical copy when it releases on May 6th 📚✨

Ooohhhhh. This one was goooood. From the very first chapter I was all in. There was no going back. I finished this book and I immediately want to reread it again. Saying I loved these characters and this story is a huge understatement. I’m at a loss with words on how to describe my obsession with it. But I’m going to sure as hell try. But understand—you HAVE to read this. Shelf trophy will be acquired—no joke.

Immediately I loved both characters—Jade and Tieran. Jade being a successful businesswoman, determined, beautiful, and sassy—who wouldn’t love her. She’s fought and worked hard for what she has. And the way she carried herself throughout was perfection. She may have a hard exterior but deep down she’s sweet and caring. But that hard exterior has some bite to it. She does not go out without a fight. Tieran—a man of many flirtatious words. And we are HERE FOR IT. Not only is he a handsome man, but he’s Captain of the Rugby team and cares more about his team than he does himself. He puts on a mask to cover how he’s truly feeling to make sure the team is at their best. But internally he was struggling. And who comes to give him confidence and break him out of that mindset—Jade.

The way they balance each other through setbacks, dates that are not actual dates, and making each other both actually be seen and heard. Absolutely beautiful and it makes my heart swell with happiness. Throughout, the slow burn was BURNING. And that always keeps me intrigued because I obviously have to see how it plays out. And it did not disappoint 🥵. Their dialogue was everything from sweet, sarcastic, flirtatious, serious, and everything in between—and the banter—*chefs kiss*.

Not only did I love Jade and Tieran, but the supporting characters—Archie, Jades dad; Lottie; Aanya; Cavan; Myles; and sweet cutie patootie little blue staffy, Pebble. I just wanted to squeeze her through the pages. Everything about this story was perfect to me. The characters, the plot, the reality of life and work, the emotions—all of it. I did not want this book to end, but knowing that there’s going to be more to this series, makes me so freaking excited. And I. CAN’T. WAIT.

Thank you Violet Page and Love Notes PR for an ARC of Blindsided for an honest review!

Drop everything you’re doing and read this book immediately! “There’s a high probability the man next to me is dead.” Immediately pulled me in from the very first sentence and I never wanted to stop reading. When I say I loved the characters, I’m not kidding. Tieran is a god of a man, which is why his contact name is appropriately named God of Sex. He is a caring, compassionate, loyal, and hardworking man who is deeply damaged from past trauma and loud thoughts inflicting so much self doubt that it affects his career and happiness. Jade exudes beauty, power, sass, fierceness, and independence, but is often feeling isolated and worn out from her constant work schedule running her own business and continuing to be the face of the company while an entire ocean away. Both characters put on a mask when they’re in the public eye, putting on a fake smile (or a serious and stern face for Jade) so everyone will believe they’re happy and have their act together, but as the book goes on, you see their walls start to come down and all their insecurities come to light before learning to overcome them. Tieran and Jade perfectly balance each other out and you will love to see their relationship blossom.

Not only will you be obsessed with the characters, but you’ll also fall in love with the overall story. From their very first meeting, to Jade joining the team, to every little interaction they share, you’ll fall more and more in love. This slow burn rugby romance is filled with banter, sass, flirtation, seriousness, sarcasm, and humor and amazing character depth and growth for not only the main characters, but also the side characters and the true main character, Pebble Stone, a cutie pie little blue staffy. I genuinely loved this book and would very highly recommend it to everyone!

Tropes:
* rugby romance
* she owns the team
* he’s the captain
* one night stand
* black cat/golden
* she’s a millionaire
* he’s obsessed
* anxiety rep
* forbidden romance

Spicy Microtropes:
* Mirror play
* He keeps her panties
* Accidental s*x club
* He pushes it back in
* Semi exhibitionism

Blindsided 🏈
Firstly,I want to thank LoveNotes PR & Violet Page for trusting me with this amazing ARC!🩵
Jade McKallen is moving back to London,and the last thing she expects is to drink her way problems away nor that the handsome man over there will notice her.
Tieran Stone is a rugby god...Until last season,when a big scandal almost took him out for good.Now he only needs to regain focus,and be on the field again.
Starting this beauty,I though that I was just gonna read a beautiful FEMALE centered romance.YET,I WAS LITERALLY SPEACHLESS due to how good and addictive this story was.From the magnetic Jade to a forbidden romance that had be giggling me feet,this one is definitely what I BLOODY needed today.
Jade has become one of my favorites,due to her attractive aura,strong personality,passion and generally she showed me what a BUSINESS WOMAN M E A N S.That girl had money,connections and dream that came true.We saw a lot,that being ruthless on the office and a absolute cutie pie on your social life can co-exist beautifully,and not one eliminate the other.Women in real life,tend to "have" to choose either the first or the second and it is believed that you certainly cannot do both,so seeing Jade character was such a healthy model to look up as a reader!Also,I said previously that book was really about Jade,so am I able to say that our,beloved,boy Tieran was being dragged away by his woman all the time?He was just being a boy,and trust me he does not need saving,he is were HE WANTS TO BE.🙈
Yes,a wonderful love story if you ask me!Jokes aside,their romance was so sweet,because those two found home in each other's eyes,and tell who does not want a romance such as that to read!
Continuing,we had action (more towards the end),that was exactly what you needed for a strong closure,which personally made me put that 5 star rating!✨
So if you absolutely love women,love,finding home and magnificent books Blindsided is the perfect for you!🥂

"-Something tells me you'll get over it
+Oh, I highly doubt that. Since I've thought of nothing else but you since that night."

What to expect:

Forbidden romance
Sports romance (rugby)
She owns the team
He is the captain
One night stand
Black cat 🖤 x Golden retriever 🐾
So much banter
Found family

⚠️ Reader to reader warning: be prepared to laugh out loud AND to shed a tear or two.

Jade McKallen is one of the best written female characters I've read in a long time. A woman who has EVERYTHING: success, money, power... and who suddenly realizes she has no idea what she wants from life or who she really is. Everyone thinks she is an ice queen but she has the most pure heart. And she is a badass! I love her so much, how she doesn't let any man to tell she who she is.

“Nice of you to keep my seat warm.”

Tieran Stone is going through a rough patch. He has lost his confidence, his spark, everything that made him great. But he is also the biggest green flag you will ever read. The kind of man who calls your dad every week without telling you, who shows up when it matters, who makes you believe in people again.

And together they are everything. She gives him back his confidence, he shows her that life is so much more than work. They balance each other in the most beautiful way.

"Laugh — smile. London just lit up for a few seconds in the wake of that smile."

The humor is perfectly dosed, the dialogue is sharp and full of banter, and the drama — because there is plenty — feels genuine, never forced. And the secondary characters!! Aanya, Lottie, Cavan.... I am already counting down the days for Lottie and Cavan's book.

And the DRAMA. Violet Page does not hold back. There are villains you will truly hate, betrayals that will make your jaw drop, and moments that will have you screaming at the pages. But it never feels like too much. It all serves the story.

And maybe I sob a little bit.

"And me — well, I'll be alone, loving him from afar, because for me, what we had is everlasting."

Thank you Violet for the ARC.

this book had me FROTHING AT THE MOUTH from chapter one and i did not recover ONCE 🫠📖

after silver linings i genuinely thought “there’s no way it gets better than this”… but violet page said hold my drink and absolutely outdid herself 💅🏼🔥

💙 Blindsided by Violet Page 💙
new city. new job. accidental one-night stand with a dangerously charming stranger in a questionable bathroom.
what could possibly go wrong? 🙃🙃

turns out… everything. because he’s not just a stranger, he’s the scandal-prone rugby captain of the team she technically now owns 🤭🏉

meet jade: the black cat fmc who RUNS LAPS around men 🖤

meet tieran: the golden retriever mmc who’s yearning HARD 🤍

blindsided is giving powerful woman enters her boss era 👠, emotionally repressed athlete with issues 😮‍💨, and a whole lot of “we absolutely should not be doing this… but we will” energy 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

thoughts i had while reading:
* where’s my nearest pub? 😅
* eyes 🤎💙
* dimples, fml
* EYESSSSS 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️
* why don’t more authors take us on impromptu visits to sex clubs? 😩
* HELLO CHARLES LECLERC HAS BEEN MENTIONED?!?!?!? cool, so i’ve ascended 🏎️🫶🏼
* i too would not be opposed to being bashed over the head by a sickeningly sweet rugby player 🥰🏉
* i LOVE love (and eyes) 💙🤎
* should i start following rugby?? for research purposes??? 🧐

the romance?? the tension?? the chaos?? i ate it UP 🫶🏼 if you’re after a book that’s equal parts swoony, spicy, and wildly addictive, this is it!!!!!

violet page, respectfully… what did you lace this with??? because i inhaled it and immediately need more 💉💖

huge thank you to @violetpage & @lovenotes.pr for the ARC. you really just enabled this level of unhinged behaviour and for that, i’m forever grateful 🫶🏼📖

5/5⭐️

If I have to define this book in one sentence it would be “finding your home”

Let’s just say that having an empowered business woman plus the biggest walking green flag men athlete it’s just the perfect recipe to binge a book sooo fast.

Let’s start with Jade, what an amazing woman who has been working her way through the top and doesn’t let anyone belittle her. For me seeing that representation made it feel so real because you get to see all the ups and downs of her life and how she deals with being a woman in a ruthless world.

Tieran is just the biggest green flag walking but lost his confidence and it’s trying to gain it back. I love that the author gave us such a strong mental health representation because it show us that even the more successful people deals with that at some point.

The chemistry between these two is so strong that even though we have two people dealing with a lot on their plate they just keep gravitating towards the other because of the peace they find in each other presence.

This book remind me the meaning of a found family and how the people who really wants to be in your life are not going away so easily and will keep showing up even though you push them because you’re afraid of getting hurt.

Thank you Violet Page and Love Notes for this incredible opportunity it was my first time reading one of your books and let’s just say that now rugby is doing it for me. Really looking forward to your future books.

Dear Violet, today your SECOND book baby releases into the wild and I am so so excited for people to fall in love with Jade and Tieran (maybe nearly as much as me).

This journey has been a labour of love and I feel so grateful to have been along for the ride!

Jade is such a power house of a woman but I loved seeing her gentle side blossom as she starts to trust the Tieran is a safe place to land. I loved her story arc of finally going after what she wants. As for Tieran…the man, the myth, the legend….he is a walking green flag wrapped up tattooed muscles with a mouth on him that will have you sweating!!

I could have go on and on about this book but I won’t because I want people to read it with as little spoilers as possible. What I will say is that Violet has once again woven humour, spice, warmth, big feelings, vulnerability and plot perfectly together which is beginning to very much become her signature style that I will devour for years to come.

Honorable mentions
✨Aanya & Miles | these two are going to be fun!
✨Cavan & Charles | the yearning I already feel in my bones (🪦RIP ME)
✨Crocheting | unexpectedly hot
✨Aerial Silk Ropes | the best kind of foreplay
✨S*x clubs | still not over it and doubt I will ever be 🫠😮‍💨

🏉🏉🏉🏉.5 and 🌶️🌶️🌶️ : keep in mind the star review is based off of MY interests!

Omg scandal, wealthy influencers, strong female main characters. What more could a girl want?! Ohhhh wait, a tattooed rugby player 😍! This book has drama and explores the power shift of a woman in charge and men who believe they rightfully own something they don’t.

I also really liked that both MC had struggles in their life that they had to overcome, whether by themselves or together, they learn so much about themselves.

I really liked how the main characters, jade and Tieran meet, it sets up the forbidden romance in a more natural way. The flirtation throughout is great, little bit here little bit there. Realization that totally shouldn’t be doing what they are doing… ✅.

This was my first book by Violet Page and I will 100% continue to read her books!

The sex club scene.. if you like a tease, this is for you!

Side characters, loved them! Loudly hoping that we have some more books coming out 👀🙏🏻! And yes I hope multiple!

I don’t know a tonnn about rugby so some of the sports talk (which I LOVE) was a tad lost on me, but guess I’ll be reading up on that now!

Read this if you enjoy: forbidden romance, public and spicy romance, he’s the captain and she owns the team.

⚠️: scandals

I am voluntarily leaving this review and all thoughts are my own!

Thanks for the chance at reading an advanced copy @violetpagewrites and @lovenotes.pr! This was my first rugby romance and loved that it wasn’t set in the US!

It was refreshing to read a book that touches on today’s social media–driven world and the influence influencers have on society. While that is not the main focus of the story, it highlights something important: no matter how many followers you have or how much money it brings in, it does not guarantee happiness.

Blindsided, the first book in the Legends of London series by Violet Page, is a strong start. It follows Jade, a social media mogul who needs to escape her empty life in Los Angeles. She moves to London and becomes the majority shareholder of a rugby team.

Enter Tieran, the team’s captain and the man Jade had a one-night stand with just before her first official day as owner. From the moment he meets Jade, he is completely taken with her and knows he wants more. I loved that dynamic, especially how Tieran is the one pursuing her while Jade is the one holding back.

This is definitely more of a slow burn romance, but when it starts to heat up, the spice really picks up. The chemistry between Jade and Tieran kept me invested and made their relationship feel worth the wait.

Even though the book is on the longer side and slows slightly in parts, I still really enjoyed it. The side characters, especially Lottie, drew me in, and I cannot wait to see more of her story.

⭐️ 4/5

Thank you Violet Page and Love Notes for the opportunity to read an ARC of this book. I am already looking forward to book two and really hope it is Lottie’s story!

*ARC REVIEW*

I was kindly given an ARC of Blindsided and this was amazing! I loved Tieran from the start, he was a golden retriever and I fell in love with him, he was perfect! he was so caring and considerate and protective and was such a good person. he was so hardworking and I loved his dynamic with Jade, their banter was so funny. I loved Jade, she’s strong and hardworking, I loved her dominating in a typically male dominated field. I really enjoyed the book being set in London, it felt so close to home, especially since most books are based in the US. Aanya was hilarious, she was so fun and I can’t wait for her and Lottie’s books (already have a feeling who it’s going to be with for Lottie…) Tieran was so sweet, I loved how he wanted the best for Jade and wanted her to have a break from work, their activity dates were so fun, it was hilarious. the tension and spice between them was palpable, I was obsessed and their chemistry was so good. they understood each other well and could read each other well after such a short time and I loved to see it. the way Tieran proved his love and showed Jade constantly, it was so beautiful how he loved her and would do anything for her. it was such a good read, loved how it ended. definitely recommend! (thank you to Violet Page and Love Notes PR for the ARC, all opinions are my own)

I really enjoyed this book! It was a fun rugby romance with a forward mmc and a fmc who was learning to take back her life!

This book was great for sports romance lovers as it actually featured scenes of said sport taking place! 🤣 that being said, as someone who isn’t familiar with how rugby works - this all went over my head lmao!

Typically I don’t love when a book has spice too early in the book, but I oddly didn’t hate it in this book. I think it was written well, and there was still a good amount of yearning to keep me invested in the main couple!

Speaking of invested … obvs wanna know what’s going on with sister and best friend ??? Hope we get their story next lmao !

this is my first violet page book and I would like to compliment her writing. I though the book was well written, detailed and engaging! 👏🏼

The one thing in this book that I kept thinking was that the main couple went on SO many public dates for a secret relationship, especially considering she was a famous influencer! That’s the main reason this book had a 4 and not a 5, because that felt a bit unrealistic to me! I know she was more famous in USA but she still was recognized in London!

Overall the book was fun, quick paced and enjoyable! Book comes out on May 6 and I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did :)

Thanks lovenotes pr and violet for the ARC! Very appreciated :)

Before diving into this review, I just want to preface that I was very fortunate to receive this book as an ARC from Love Notes PR.

As someone who lives in England I know surprisingly little about rugby but had the best time reading this book and seeing London through someone else’s eyes. Both of these characters had so much depth and I loved exploring their dynamic as the book progressed. The anxiety representation being shown through Tieran was refreshing and I feel its important to have this type of representation with male characters. Additionally, Jade’s character being an over-achiever and a people pleaser hit very close to home and I loved seeing each of their character developments throughout the book.

One of my only critiques was that this book was very smut heavy, but that is just a personal preference of mine. It didn’t make me enjoy the book any less, but I just would’ve preferred a scene or two less to be heavily focused on the smut. Despite that, these characters had such an emotional connection and their relationship was believable and authentic. Overall, I had a really good time reading this book and would definitely recommend to my sports romance girlies who enjoy smut! Thank you so much to Love Notes PR and Violet Page for giving me this opportunity to read this book early.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book so much!! I must say the first page had me annoyed because instantly the song got stuck in my head (don't worry I won't say it so it doesn't get stuck in yours too) but I must say at that moment I instantly knew I would love this book. I loved that the MMC was british. The fact that Jade tries her hardest not to fall for Tieran because she's his new boss, makes it super thrilling. Like you just know she's gonna fall at some point. Tieran is so cocky, I love it. Jade is such a girl boss thinking she can do everything only her own, only to end up burnt out when she realises that maybe the life she has isn't what she really wants. When she finally cracks and honestly just starts to seem a little more human, I love that her friends are ready to tease her.

I loved seeing a book where the FMC is the successful, wealthy boss and not the other way around for once. Everything about Jade and Tieran's relationship is wholesome. I also enjoyed the epilogue and love when authors add the yrs later cause I don't just want but need to know what they're up to in the future.

Oh and if you're wondering, there's definitely some plot twists along the way, that may shock you. When I saw that there's gonna be another book on the Legends of London series, I immediately subscribed to the newsletter.

Thank you Love Notes PR & Violet Page for this truly amazing eARC.

ARC REVIEW – Thank you to Violet Page and Lovenotes PR for this ARC! 🏈

I’ve just finished Blindsided and I honestly don’t know how to move on from it.

From start to finish, this book pulled me in completely. The writing is so easy to fall into but still deeply emotional, and Violet Page really nailed that balance between soft, comforting moments and intense emotion.

Jade is strong, confident, and so real—never feeling like a “perfect” character, which made her so easy to connect with. And Tieran is the definition of a book boyfriend done right: patient, loyal, and quietly intense in all the best ways.

Together, they just work. Their relationship feels natural and earned, and their banter was honestly one of my favourite parts—funny, effortless, and full of personality.

This book made me feel so much, and I was fully attached by the end. It’s one of those stories that lingers with you long after you finish.

If it’s on your TBR, move it up. You won’t regret it 🤪

Favourite quotes:

“I have wondered if your pillows are thick enough to effectively suffocate you.”

“I’m speaking right now, love. You can yell at me when I’m done.”

“I like you too, boss, but I’m about to fuck you like I don’t.”

“Are you crazy?” I shout, devolving into a fit of giggles.

“For you? Most definitely.”

I love a good sports romance and even better when it's my favourite sport of Rugby.

This booked had me hooked in from the beginning. I loved Jade's character, a successful woman, online influencer and now owner of a rugby team. The portrayal of how hard women have to work to be successful and the workload she takes on, plus surviving in a male dominated world, it's no wonder she has to be self sufficient.

Tieran is a professional rugby player at the top of his game, but suffering a lack of confidence following a public personal disaster.

These two meet there is instant connection but this is a forbidden love and I love the slow burn where Jade is denying her feelings due to the position she is in and Tieran's continued presence, being their for her, slowly showing her how to live and love.

Their is push and pull, angst, will they, won't they and it is a lovely moment when they do finally get together.

This has a great storyline. I love the side characters that we meet. You can see the relationships developing between them all and the potential for future books.

I loved reading this story and I look forward to reading future books in the series.

I received an ARC copy of this book. Thank you to Violet Page and Love Notes PR for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.
