The night Jade McKallen moves to London, the last thing the self-made business woman expects is to wind up in a dimly lit bar drinking away her troubles. She certainly doesn’t anticipate ending the night fogging up the mirror of the tiny bathroom with a charismatic, tattooed stranger. After a lifetime of being career focused, underestimated, and overworked—the temptation to let loose for once is too good to pass up. Besides, what’s the harm in a little fun when she’ll never see him again, right?
On the rugby pitch, Tieran Stone is a god. That is, until a very public scandal threw him off his game last season, costing them the Premiership. With a change in the team's ownership, the pressure to prove himself has never been higher. All he needs to do is stay focused, get his crushing anxiety under control, and stay out of the tabloids. But keeping his mind on the match proves to be difficult when the new owner of The Legends turns out to be the stunning woman with razor sharp wit he hasn’t stopped thinking about since their electrifying night together.
Jade thought her biggest obstacle when becoming the first woman to own a rugby team would be the men who feel entitled to her job. Instead, it’s the infuriatingly charming captain, and avoiding him is proving difficult when he’s on her tv, at work, and constantly on her mind. As Tieran slowly unravels the woman who’s always had to hold it together, and Jade sees behind the mask of easy smiles he wears like armor, they’ll have to find a way around the forces trying to keep them apart if they want to win the ultimate victory—each other’s hearts.

I was hesitant about this book, a one-night stand trope has never really been my forte, but it was executed better than I expected! I truthfully don’t know what to think about Blindsided because it was good, beyond good even, but it definitely could have been better. The main characters were phenomenal, I loved both of them individually and the representation of a female in male-dominated fields was extroadinary, but the execution of their relationship was a bit iffy.
Surprisingly enough I did enjoy the plot. As much as I disliked the instant smut in the first chapter, Jade’s attempts at completely forgetting the one-night stand after realizing she was Tieran’s boss while Tieran was prone on reminding her at all times had me entranced with this book instantly. I loved seeing the main characters interact with each other while also having individual growth that was developed throughout the entire story. Unfortunately there were no major plot twists (aside from one) as it was pretty obvious what would happen when the main characters got together rather early in the book. It also did start to get boring nearing the middle-end, however it did pick back up after a few chapters! Blindsided has made me reconsider my opinion on the one-night-stand trope so that has to say something about the otherwise pleasing aspects this storyline had.
I do wish Tieran and Jade’s relationship was gone about differently though. It felt like there was a lack of build up, which is confusing as a good portion of the book was based around the events they went through together that made them develop feelings. The few interactions they had felt more drawn out, which is probably why the chapters were so long, causing it to feel like they didn’t really get to connect like they should have. Don’t get me wrong, they had wondrous tension and the chemistry they had when they got together was undeniable. Something was just missing during the development of their dynamic. I do have to emphasize my appreciation for the amusing banter though because this book was filled with it and it had me giggling every chapter.
There was a sufficient amount of emotional depth, especially with Jade’s character, but I wish Tieran had been delved into more. Aside from that, I loved the writing. It didn’t feel the utmost repetitive and it definitely lacked an excessive amount of cringey dialogue. The chapters did feel lengthy, so the book did get boring at times, but I felt the inner monologue and dialogue made up for it. It was the right amount of emotional complexity mixed with compelling romantic feelings, so there wasn’t too much of one or the other. I also enjoyed the side characters playing a big role in the story, it was adorable seeing the numerous development of friendships.

౨ৎ Jade McKallen.
Loved seeing a woman put misogynic men in their places. Jade was so relatable, being independent because she felt others couldn’t be trusted. Also, the fact she was quite literally a millionaire? There have been so many books with the FMC’s being on the poor-side, which there is nothing wrong with, but it was refreshing to read about a successful woman running her own company! I also LOVED seeing her make friends for the first time, it was cute seeing them push Jade out of her comfort zone.
Jade’s blunt yet caring personality was the perfect mix that made me absolutely adore her character. Her witty comebacks were amusing and her emotional complexity was delved into really well. Honestly, my only complaint is how she reacted near the end of the book as her communication skills were thrown out the window, but other than that she was such a relatable, enjoyable, amusing character all mixed in one that made Blindsided ten times better.
౨ৎ Tieran Stone.
Tieran Stone… Ever just look at a person’s name and have to praise whoever came up with it? That’s what I thought of whenever Tieran was brought up. Anyways, UGH I loved this man. Not only was he a British rugby player but his personality? Outgoing MMC’s always have me kicking my feet and Tieran was no exception. He was so kind, patient, and all he did for Jade was the cutest. It was exciting to see someone finally put Jade first when she had always put others priorities over her own.
Tieran’s refusal to give up on the things he loves was extremely motivational, this man was dedicated and I enjoyed seeing him find his spark again, but I do wish he had more depth. I loved seeing the anxiety representation but it felt coasted over. Like, it was mentioned every now and then, yet it could have had a larger influence on the story and Tieran himself. We also didn’t get much closure with his family situation which was disappointing as it felt forgotten about. Either way I adored him as much as I did Jade! Also his tattoos and thighs? Yes please

There were definitely some questionable aspects with Jade and Tieran’s relationship, but other than that this book was really enjoyable! The character’s banter was on point and Blindsided had such gripping tension I couldn’t stop reading. Yes, the chapter length is a tad questionable and I do wish we got more dynamic building for the main character’s relationship, but Blindsided entranced me with the execution of a plot I usually find distasteful. The emotional complexity was a bit iffy on Tieran’s side yet Jade was delved into so well! Tieran and Jade were individualistic and so entertaining, I loved reading about them. I was able to connect with the story and the characters which is monumental because with some of my recent reads I haven’t been able to do so. Violet Page’s writing wasn’t extremely repetitive or cringey (yes, there were times it was) which made reading this book interesting. The individuality plus growth in both characters was wondrous and although Blindsided wasn’t all that impactful, I definitely adored the story and would recommend if you’re looking for a sports romance. (and don’t mind lengthy chapters)

Anyway, a book with the FMC in a male-dominated field? Love to see it 🥹 this is an introduction to Violet Page for me so I truthfully don’t know what to expect
Going into Blindsided, there were already several elements that immediately caught my attention: a female lead working in a male-dominated field, rugby as sport romance, and a London setting. As someone who is curious about rugby romances, this felt like the perfect combination for me, so I decided to give it a try. Plus, knowing the author is indie made me even more interested because I’m always happy to discover new authors and support their work. What I can say is that I ended up enjoying the story, even if I don’t think it fully reached its potential.
One of the strongest aspects of the book was definitely Jade. I loved seeing a successful, independent woman owning a rugby team and holding her ground in an environment full of men who constantly underestimated her. Her determination and blunt personality initially make her seem like a cold person, but in reality, it’s a shield she built to survive in her line of work. Beneath that armor, though, there’s a woman who simply wants to live and is beginning to question the life she has built for herself, allowing her emotional vulnerability to slowly come through. I was really happy to see her slowly step outside of her comfort zone and unexpectedly surround herself with friendships and love that made her realize the life she had built for herself up until that moment wasn’t truly making her happy.
Tieran was also incredibly easy to like. Charming, patient, supportive, and a tattooed British rugby player? The author clearly knew what she was doing there. I really liked both him and the way his crush on Jade was portrayed, especially how he simply couldn’t stop thinking about her after their first encounter.
Their dynamic was really engaging to read, especially the banter between them, which kept many scenes entertaining and fun. Their chemistry was undeniable from the start, and even though Tieran was initially the one who seemed more emotionally invested, it was really satisfying to watch Jade slowly open herself up to him and gradually fall in love. The spicy scenes were enjoyable too, although I do think some of them could have been a little shorter.
I also really enjoyed the London setting, but my favorite part was definitely the dates between the protagonists. Since Jade doesn’t have much of a social life outside of work, I loved how their outings weren’t the usual “classic” romantic dates. The places they visited felt personal and unconventional, which made their relationship feel even more unique.
Even though I enjoyed their relationship overall, I still think the development between them could have been stronger. The book spends a lot of time on Jade and Tieran together, but something about their emotional progression felt slightly underdeveloped. The tension was definitely there, but I sometimes wished for more meaningful build-up instead of repeated conversations and inner monologues. Personally, my biggest issue with the book was the pacing: the chapters often felt too long, and certain scenes or thoughts became repetitive, which made the middle section drag a bit.
I also wish Tieran’s anxiety and family issues had been explored more deeply because those moments added emotional depth to his character, but they sometimes felt brushed aside too quickly. Still, I appreciated that both main characters had their own personal growth outside of the romance.
Despite my criticisms, I genuinely enjoyed the story and found it very readable. The side characters were also a pleasant surprise: I loved the relationship between Jade and her father, and Aanya as a sunshine presence and unexpected friend in Jade’s life was really sweet to see. I’d also love to see Jade and Lottie, Tieran’s younger sister, grow closer and develop a friendship in future books. And now I’m honestly curious about the future couples, especially Cavan and Lottie, who completely caught my attention.
Overall, Blindsided was a solid sports romance with great banter, strong chemistry, and a refreshing FMC, even if the pacing and relationship development kept it from becoming a favorite. I’d definitely continue with the series because the world and characters still managed to pull me in.
Many thanks to LoveNotes and the author for the ARC. All opinions are entirely my own.
This book was exactly the sporty London escape I needed, and I’m still thinking about Jade and Tieran.
Jade is such a force, owning a rugby team in a world that is always trying to undermine her, but beneath her tough exterior is someone carrying a lot of hurt. Tieran was everything I wanted in a hero: charming, tattooed, and endlessly supportive, while his struggles with anxiety made him feel even more genuine.
The chemistry between them was so good. Their banter felt natural, the tension was undeniable, and I loved how their relationship developed through thoughtful, meaningful moments rather than over-the-top romantic gestures. Watching Jade slowly let her guard down and realize she deserves love and friendship outside of work was incredibly satisfying.
The pacing dragged a little at times, and some of the inner monologues felt repetitive. I also would have loved more depth when it came to Tieran’s family and mental health journey. Even so, the side characters were wonderful, and the ending left me with the biggest smile.
If you love strong heroines and sweet, supportive athletes, this is definitely worth picking up.

Huge thank you to Violet Page & Love Notes PR for the ARC! 😍 All my bookish thoughts are completely my own. ✨
First, I want to thank LoveNotesPR and Violet Page for this opportunity.
At first, I wasn't sure about how everything was going to be developed because it was instant smut, but as I read, I started liking it, and then I started questioning a lot of things.
I was enjoying the writing a lot, I like their banter and how quick Tieran was to come up with responses, but at one point, it became very repetitive. It was also with Jade; she said the same thing about Tieran, like 5 chapters in a row, all in very similar scenes, which made me feel like everything was very superficial, and we were already around the 20 chapters. There were specific details about their relationship with their families and careers that worked as setups for something bigger, and then it came to nothing. It left me wanting to know more about it. To me is very important that if you are going to mention something, it then ties up to something, and it's not just being thrown around.
I wasn't sure of their relationship at first, but they won me over slowly. I still felt like some of their interactions felt too similar and repetitive because it was the same formula for the conversation, and while I love good banter, and I felt the tension, it's not everything. I really loved when they were opening up more to each other, but I would've liked more deeper moments that showed how they got there, what made them feel that way for each other.
Both characters had things that I absolutely loved. Jade was very strong and fierce. She was putting misogynistic men in place, and we are always here for that. She was very direct and, at the same time, caring, and I liked seeing the balance more specifically within the team. What threw me off was that at the end of the book, she kinda went off character, not being able to communicate directly about what was happening.
Tieran was fun. I really liked that he was not giving up for what he wanted, and I liked his personal growth, but I would've liked to see more about his anxiety from his perspective, and also something related to sports psychology, because I feel like it was right there to be used and was not even mentioned once, and we never saw anything about his anxiety again. Other things that were left up in the air were his family; there was no closure. I do have to say I liked his interaction with the guys, and I would've loved to see more of that outside of the stadium environment because he mentioned them being friends and like brothers, so they must've spent time outside the stadium, and we didn't get to see that as much.
The side characters had a range from being people I didn't care about, to some I got curious about (Lottie and Cavan) to others I hated, and others I loved. I really liked seeing this range, and I really like the girls' dynamic. I would've loved to see more of the three of them outside the games.
Overall, I had fun reading the book; there were some questionable things, like the third-act breakup. From the details of them being well known, and Tieran being in headlines, I expected something different; it was being set up for something entirely different than the thing that really happened. The last like 10% threw me off a lot, and I was having fun with the book.
Blind Sided by Violet Page ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (3.5 / 5 stars)
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🏉🖤 “British rugby romance with black cat energy, golden retriever obsession, and SO much banter.” 🖤🏉 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
💌 First Thoughts
As a British reader? This book felt SO fun and familiar.
The rugby setting, the references, the humour—it all felt incredibly authentic and honestly made the story stand out from other sports romances I’ve read.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
✨ The Dynamic = Elite ✨
🖤 Jade Strong, independent, intimidating in the best way. A woman thriving in a male-dominated field while quietly carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders. Her black cat energy? IMMACULATE.
🐶 Tieran Golden retriever energy through and through. Loyal, protective, emotionally open, and absolutely gone for Jade from the second he sees her.
And honestly? I LOVE when an MMC is straightforward about his feelings instead of playing games—and Tieran delivered on that perfectly.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
💥 What I Loved
✨ The banter & chemistry ✨ The British humour and rugby atmosphere ✨ The anxiety/stress representation ✨ The found family vibes peeking through ✨ Pebble Stone the blue staffy stealing scenes 🐾
Watching these two slowly lower their walls and become safe spaces for each other was genuinely beautiful.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🏉💞 The Romance
This is definitely a slower burn romance, but the tension, flirting, and obsession made it worth it.
From their first meeting, you can FEEL how drawn they are to each other—even when both are trying to keep their emotions under control.
Tieran especially? That man was down horrendous from day one.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
⚖️ Why 3.5 Stars?
While I really enjoyed the story and characters, there were moments where I wanted a little more emotional depth and pacing balance in certain parts. Some sections felt stronger than others for me personally, but overall it was still such an entertaining read.

Jade is the CEO of her own business as well as a fashion and beauty influencer. Jade's work-life balance is nonexistent when she moves to London to be closer to her dad and also buys a rugby team. Jade's new role as the majority shareholder comes with some conflict with colleagues and we see a lot of struggles she has to overcome being a woman in a male-dominated field. Most assume that she has no idea about rugby, let alone running a team. What Jade is not prepared for is Tieran. Tieran is fresh off a bad season and hoping to redeem himself for the English National Team. He has put a lot of pressure on himself, leading to a mental block he cannot break through.
Sometimes in sports romances, I find that the sport aspect is overlooked. I was happy that there were many scenes of Tieran playing rugby as well as Jade watching the games, so it wasn't glossed over. When Tieran is underperforming at the beginning, it was refreshing to see that dating Jade didn't fix him. He had to work through the mental block, and she supported him through it.
I am an absolute sucker for the black cat x golden retriever dynamic Jade and Tieran have. Both Jade and Tieran were great main characters—rarer and rarer to say these days—and their chemistry was palpable. They were truly meant to be together. My favorite part was their more unorthodox dates that started because Tieran wanted Jade to be able to experience new hobbies. Since she was a teenager when she started becoming an influencer, she missed out on many opportunities and Tieran is more than willing to introduce her to activities like crochet (iykyk).
One thing I wish had been explored more was Tieran's anxiety. It was a present force in his head and physically manifested as well, but when we find out about his family dynamic, I would have liked to see it developed outside of rugby more. There were also some parts of the book that felt dragged out in the middle, but I'm not too mad about that. I will say that the ending is pretty predictable, but I was glad the third act breakup wasn't out of character.
The side characters have so much promise for future books; I ate up the crumbs of the couple for book two. Can't wait!
ARC REVIEW - thank you to lovenotes PR & Violet for this ARC!

Me 🤝🏻 sports romance
I loved this. I eat up sports romance every time. I think with this one what i loved about it, was how British it is, and as a British reader i loved all the references and the fact it was rugby made it even better.
I loved the dynamic between the FMC & MMC.
Jade our strong & empowering female character in a male dominated field, with the black cat energy, and Tieran our loyal & protective male character with his golden retriever tendencies.
Both characters deal with stress and anxiety from other parts of their lives but seeing how they grow together and deal with it all was lovely to read. Jade supports Tieran in the most beautiful of ways. The way Tieran was obsessed with Jade from the minute he laid eyes on her was 🤌🏼. I love when an MMC is upfront and honest with his feelings, and Tieran DELIVERED on that front.
The found family vibes peeking through as well were making me giddy.
I think i was just really in the mood for a decent sports romance and this delivered for me.
I am sensing some crumbs of future couples for future books??? 👀
'Apparently, the joys of men underestimating women is a global epidemic, not limited to back home.'
A hot rugby captain looking at me like I hung the moon and occasionally calling me 'love'? I've got wobbly knees just imagining it 🤭
First of all, a huge thank you to the author and Love Notes PR for sending me an early copy of this book and trusting me with her work 💙 Even before I started reading, I had a feeling that this was gonna be good - but it still somehow exceeded all my expectations. I had such a fun time with these characters, and the writing was absolutely stunning!!
I'm not big on rugby, but after this… I might have to reconsider, because DAMN 🏉 Jade and Tieran are both so freakishly hot - truly a great day to swing both ways. This book simply has it all, tension, banter, spice… you name it.
Jade's character development - from being closed off with no friends, and a workaholic to someone who makes time for people and actually enjoys her life - was lovely to witness. Her friendship with Aanya and Lottie was so heartwarming and exactly what she needed. I love strong female friendships, and this book delivers. Watching her realize that she deserves happiness and begin to live for herself was so rewarding. The same can be said for Tieran's growth 🗻
Tieran, I fear, is the new standard 🛐 His golden retriever energy, his eagerness to help, and especially his friendship with Jade's dad absolutely melted my heart 🏹 I swooned every single time he claimed Jade as his girl - he's just so incredibly sweet to her. And his dog is named Pebble Stone 🐶 Hello? How cute is that?
Also… do I see a Cavan and Lottie book in the future? And maybe Aanya and Miles too? 👀
“I love your fire Jade. Don’t ever douse it for anyone, least of all me. Burn me for all I care, I want all of it, all of you.”
Blindsided by Violet Page completely caught me off guard in the best way. Officially going down as one of my favorite sports romance books i’ve ever read i fear!! I had a really good feeling about this book when i originally saw the blurb and i KNEW i had to read this book in one way or another & it don’t disappoint in the slightest!
This was my first Violet Page novel and I absolutely LOVED the writing style & pacing that Violet presented here — it was nothing but addictive and easy to sink into, especially during the emotional & tender moments that really started building the story & the character’s relationship. Actually cannot wait to read her other book (her debut) and fall in love with her writing all over again.
Rugby & rugby players are the one sport & sportsman I haven’t read much of yet it was so cool to finally read a romance novel that incorporated that sport!! I literally know nothing about it so it was nice to learn about it while also learning about Jade & Tieran all in one. I will now be on the looking for my own sexy rugby player fyi — blame violet for that!
I can’t wait to reread this book again & am already eagerly anticipating what violet has in store for us readers next! 🦋
What to expect in blindsided: 💙 workplace romance 💙 one night stand 💙 forbidden romance 💙 she’s his boss 💙 rugby player mmc 💙 set in london 💙 he’s obsessed with her 💙 anxiety rep 💙 black cat x golden retriever
Thank you to Violet Page & LoveNotesPR for the amazing opportunity to read this arc!!!
First, thank you to Love Notes PR & Violet Page for this ARC!
THIS! WAS! SO! FUN!!!!!!! Gosh I love a good sports romance that’s swoony and angsty and pining and sexy! Violet Page, a new to me author, delivers all of that in spades! This follows Jade, an Internet influencer turned business mogul, moving to London and buying a rugby team. On her first night in town, she has a steamy one night stand who we find out is the captain of said rugby team. Jade is a boss queen who runs circles around any man but the one man that she can’t get out of her mind is our golden retriever mmc Tieran.
The chaos and tension work SO well. Violet does such a good job at the push and pull at the right moment. Making the reader scream JUST DO IT ALREADY AGAIN!
The side characters??? AMAZING! I am in love and Anaya and LOTTIE AND CAVAN!! Hehe next book better be the best friends little sister book! (May or may not have the confirmation it is hehe). And I know Myles and Anaya are technically together but I would LOVE a book for them!
And as someone who isn’t familiar with rugby, this was kinda easy to follow. My only small critique is maybe explaining the sport and some key positions to those who may not get sports but love to read sports romances! I had to google some terms and positions and that takes me out of the book when I have to do that. Otherwise, FREAKING LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEE. I am so sat for this series!
Firstly thank you so much to LoveNotes PR & Violet Page for my ARC of Blindsided. I read Silver Linings last year and absolutely adored it, so I was desperate to get my hands on this book.
Violet Page is now officially an ‘auto-buy author’ for me. I absolutely adore her writing style, and Blindsided was no different, it had me laughing and crying, sometimes at the same time. Violet is able to write characters with such depth and does so in a way that makes them so relatable. I felt like this group of people were real and were very much my friends by the end of it, the same way I did with Silver Linings. I also found it so easy to empathise with the characters and their struggles, understanding why they made the choices they did. I loved learning about their experiences and families.
I spent so much time highlighting quotes, re reading lines and giggling. The romance between Jade and Tieran was so wholesome but also filled with so much tension. I adored Jade, my strongwilled girl, who never let a man talk shit. Tieran is a new god tier book boyfriend, his thoughtfulness throughout had me so emotional. The scenes with him and Jades Dad (IYKYK). I adored the found family, the female friendships, the banter, the setting, everything. Easiest five stars I’ve given this year. READ THIS BOOK. And if you haven’t read silver linings READ THAT TOO💙🩵
Omggggg Jade McKallen is this total self made queen who moves to London and in a moment of screw it has a scorchin hot bathroom encounter with a tattooed stranger. But plot twistttt he's Tieran Stone, the captain of the rugby team she just bought😬
The tension is literally insanneeee. It's this perfect push pull of we absolutely cannot do this and we absolutely need to. Tieran’s our golden retriever rugby god on the surface, but he's secretly battling anxiety and pressure from some past scandal. Jade has this sharp wit and control but you can totally see the exhaustion underneath. She's been underestimated her whole life and is sooo over it.
Their chemistry is ridiculous like every glance has me screaming, every boardroom meeting feels like foreplay. I loved watching them slowly break down each other's walls. He sees the real her behind the girlboss armor and she becomes his safe space when his anxiety is spiraling.
The rugby world is actually really well done and the side characters especially Jade's friendship with Aanya, were such a vibe. It's giving found family energy 🥰
This book is a total touchdown.
🏉 sports romance 👩💼 girlboss fmc 🐶 golden retriever mmc 🏫 workplace romance 🤫 forbidden love 😩 tension 🥰 found family 🇬🇧 british setting
Thank you to Love Notes PR and author Violet Page for allowing me to read and review the ARC of Blindsided. As someone who absolutely loves sports romances, I went into this with high expectations and it completely delivered.
Jade McKallen is determined to make her mark after moving to London, and after a spontaneous one-night stand, she never expects to see the gorgeous rugby player again. Fate has other plans though, and she suddenly finds herself owning the very rugby team he captains. The chemistry between them was instant, but the tension that builds once their worlds collide again made this impossible to put down.
From the very first page, I was hooked. This book has everything I love in a romance: a strong, confident female lead who knows her worth, a tattooed rugby captain with layers beneath the tough exterior, incredible banter, undeniable chemistry, and plenty of tension that kept me turning the pages late into the night. The found family dynamics added so much warmth and heart to the story, making the characters and team feel incredibly real and lovable.
The balance between emotional moments, humour, and spice was done so well, and the relationship development felt both addictive and satisfying. If you love sports romances packed with tension, swoon-worthy moments, strong characters, and a romance that keeps you invested from beginning to end, then Blindsided is definitely one to add to your TBR!
Blindsided is rugby romance that tackles hard and scores every point. Violet Page delivers a scorching one-night stand between self-made businesswoman Jade McKallen and tattooed team captain Tieran Stone that explodes when she becomes owner of his team. Enemies-to-lovers tension? Off the charts. Their bathroom hookup chemistry lingers through boardroom battles and pitch-side stares, turning "never see him again" into "he's everywhere and ruining me." Jade's arc as the first female owner fighting entitled men shines—fierce, underestimated, razor-sharp. Tieran's public scandal and hidden anxiety peel back his charming mask beautifully, making their slow unraveling feel raw and real. The rugby world pulses with authentic stakes, banter snaps, and spice builds to tackle-you-against-the-wall heat. Half-star off for a few convenient plot sidesteps, but this HEA hits like a game-winning try. Sports romance fans, especially rugby lovers—don't miss this touchdown. I received the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
You've probably heard me rave about violet's first book already. There's a reason. She's insanely talented This is her second book and wow, if I didn't already love her after her debut, l'a be a fan for life after this one (honestly, she's stuck with me).
She creates characters you fall hard for, with friendships and found family that pull you all the way in.
This is the first book in the Legends of London series and what a way to start. Rugby, London, and top tier banter. Jade is that woman. A self made boss who's been called cold simply because she's guarded and hasn't had the space to choose herself.
Tieran is strong and steady on the outside, but quietly carrying everything on his shoulders.
And the way he sees her. The way he shows her she's not cold, just waiting for someone worthy of her warmth. Yeah, I cried. Not just at how he saw her, but how deeply he understood the parts she keeps hidden.
Thank you so much to Violet for sending me an ARC of Blindsided. This is my honest review of this book and thank you for the advance copy. I have to say it was my first time reading a book about rugby and I enjoyed every single minutes of this story. I loved so much the characters: Jade a strong and fierce woman, who owns a strong personality and a rugby team and Tieran, such a good boy and OMG A BIG BIG GREEN FLAG. Honestly I truly loved the book and personality it was a great journey to do. Discovering these characters as individuals and as a couples was significant for me. Hope to have soon the second book, because I HAVE FAITH that the next couples will be the death of me. Big mentions also for Pebbles the dog, she was a very cutie pie to see in actions .
It took me awhile to get through this initially because I felt the beginning felt a tad slow in terms of repetition of Tieran during games and how Jade had her back and forth pattern. I can’t knock that as much tho because in real life most people are hypocrites and have patterns when they want something, yet know the risks of having it so they continuously go through an internal struggle.
Both of these characters were super complex which made a good plot for me. The representation of anxiety was done so well; kudos to the author.
the TENSION!!! 😩🥵 I loved this book. Jade is the ultimate IT girl but is everything as great as it seems?! I thought the character building of Jade and the boss bitch she is but whats underneath all of her success was done so well! Tieran was not backing down, he wanted Jade and he was going to show her what she’s missing!! This was my first rugby romance and I think i need to read more bc i LOVED it!
Also i am SO excited for book 2 and the small glimpse into that book couple in this book made me so excited!! 🤩🫶🏽
Blindsided was my first rugby romance but won't be my last. I even watched a match. I adored these characters. Tieran Stone was embarrassed in front of the whole country and his game has suffered since. Jade McKallen moved to the UK and bought a rugby team to feel closer to her dad. The connection between these two is strong and the forbidden factor just ups the fun. This was a slow burn in the best way. I loved the side characters as well. I can't wait for more in this series. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🌶️🌶️
A spicy sports romance for readers who enjoy - 🏉 6ft tall rugby players with thigh tattoos… 🇬🇧 A bad-ass girlboss FMC 🏉 A man who is DOWN BAD & totally owns it 🇬🇧 Banter, wit & sarcasm for days (weeks & months) 🏉 Black cat FMC x golden retriever MMC 🇬🇧 Open door spice (from the jump!)
~ plot ~
Fiercely independent self-made business woman Jade McKallen doesn’t do one night stands. The exception? A 6ft tall, God-like mystery man in a London pub bathroom. It’s one night, he’s hot, she needs to let her hair down before starting her new job & London’s a big city, it’s not like she’s ever going to see him again.
Rugby player Tieran Stone has had it rough. His last season was a bust, as was his last relationship & while his mind should be solely focused on the game, he just can’t stop thinking about his pub bathroom escapade & the mystery woman he shared it with.
When Jade turns out to be the new majority owner of Tieran’s rugby team, their worlds are thrown into chaos. But while he’s openly obsessed & she’s trying/failing to fight it, the world around them seems determined to keep them apart.
~ review ~
I don’t really know where to begin but I do really want to know where I can buy a Legends shirt?? Violet Page, you broke my heart & mended it in one fell swoop & I absolutely adore you for it.
Blindsided is a heartwarming, heart-racing, soft but spicy, banter filled rugby romance that reels you in & doesn’t let go. It’s an emotional rollercoaster with a brilliantly impactful push-pull relationship. It’s witty, full of banter & british humour that will have you laughing out loud but on the flipside, it’s tense, emotional & I suggest getting your tissues ready.
Violet’s writing is so immersive & enthralling that it totally envelops you. Whether it be characters, plot, setting, or something else, every single aspect is so well thought out & perfectly explained/explored. Both London & the world of rugby are brought to life. I didn’t just find characters likeable & the connection I made with them wasn’t just surface level. I FELT with them, laughed with them, grew with them & became part of their circle.
Romance wise - 10’s across the board, 4 yes’s & golden buzzer. I mean talk about starting off with a bang!? 👀… Jade & Tieran’s journey delivers heat, tension, angst, yearning, banter, palpable chemistry, vulnerability, growth, tender moments & a slow burn that does in fact, slow burn. The payoff however? Major. (While you’re grabbing tissues, maybe grab a cold flannel too).
Do I recommend Blindsided? HELL YES! But take my advice, don’t sit down at night to read a ‘couple of chapters’ because next thing you know, you’re bawling - happy & sad tears - & you have to be up for work in 2 hours.
~ characters ~
Jade McKallen is the definition of girl-boss & has worked ridiculously hard to get to the level she’s at. Male dominated field you say? Ha! This girl chews ignorant men up & spits them back out & it’s GOLD. It seems like she has everything a person could want but beneath her strong willed, got it all figured out armour there’s something missing. I absolutely love her fierce side but her soft, vulnerable side is just as impactful. She helps Tieran find himself again but she finds herself too & the Jade we start with & the Jade we end with have 2 very different outlooks. A fantastic character with so many layers, the best banter & a heart of gold, please be my BFF 💖
You know those videos where the guy runs around waving a massive green flag? He’d be needing oxygen by the time this book is done. Forget book boyfriend, Tieran Stone is a book HUSBAND. There’s SO much more to him than meets the eye. A 6ft tall, charming, ridiculously hot, tattooed, giant puppy who’s loyal, protective, caring, wants the best for everyone around him, is a DOG DAD & don’t even get me started on his relationship with Archie! Are you trying to end me Violet!? His struggles with anxiety & self doubt broke my heart, but seeing him & Jade come together ultimately becoming each other’s safe space stitched it right back together again ❤️🩹
Cavan, Lottie, Aanya & Myles are fantastic side characters. This isn’t just a fantastic romance, it’s a heartwarming display of found family, Sisterhood & Brotherhood too. The way Jade opens up to the girls & lets them in is a huge part of her journey & I love how much respect the boys have for Tieran. It’s so refreshing to see big, burly guys be so open with their feelings! When I say I’m itching for the continuation of this series, I truly mean it.
~ final thoughts ~
Is it time for the next book yet??
A huge thank you to Love Notes PR & Violet Page for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC. This is my honest opinion & I’m sharing it voluntarily❣️
[Initial reaction - I’m fully in love. It’s 2am & I need time to process this masterpiece. RTF 🥹🥹💖💖]
For fans of Liz Tomforde’s “In Her Own League”, meet your new favorite rugby romance! This 4.7⭐ sports romance delivers a new high-stakes, toe-curling trope: club owner and player love interests.
Jade McKallen finds herself in London, the new majority shareholder of the Legends rugby team, drinking at a pity party for one in a dimly lit pub. What’s the harm in climbing the charming, tattooed stranger like a tree in the pub bathroom when she’ll never see him again, right? WRONG. To Jade’s surprise, she comes face to face with the stranger’s icy blue eyes the next day as she looks out over her team.
Tieran Stone is a force to be reckoned with - on and off the rugby pitch. That was until a scandal caused him to lose his drive in the game, and the sharp woman he can’t stop thinking about just happens to be his boss. Forced proximity takes center stage as Tieran unravels the woman who’s always had to hold it together, and Jade sees behind the captain’s stoic mask. They’ll have to find a way around the forces trying to keep them apart if they want to win the ultimate victory - each other’s hearts.
Jade is me. I am Jade. I loved her character so much. The face she shows to the world is this high-powered, put-together businesswoman, but behind closed doors she’s overwhelmed, she faces imposter syndrome, and she tries to protect herself through her hyper-independence. The added layer of her father’s Parkinson’s Disease and the tumultuous relationship with her “mom-ager” makes you want to give her a forehead kiss and an “I’m proud of you”. Tieran’s character is also written beautifully, especially in the author’s drive to highlight the dichotomy between expectations for professional male athletes and the behind-the-scenes mental health hurdles that they encounter. Tieran also may be top-tier book boyfriend material; he emphasizes with Jade, he actively practices emotional intelligence, and he sets up “hobby hunting” days for Jade, which they experience together. SWOON.
Sometimes in sports romances, the sport aspect is overlooked. I loved that there were many scenes of rugby games and descriptions that aided in the explanation of the game itself, so it wasn't glossed over. With Tieran’s underperformance, it was refreshing to see that Jade didn't fix him. He had to work through the mental block, and she supported him through it. However, I think the plot would have been stronger if we got to explore Tieran's anxiety. It was a present force in his head and physically manifested, in addition to his family dynamic, I think this would have been a hard-hitting sub-plot for his character development.
I’ve read a lot of other reviews that say how the middle felt like it dragged. I will once again climb onto my “these are mature, emotionally intelligent love interests” soapbox, but save the word count. Jade and Tieran’s chemistry was unmatched, and their relationship progressed realistically!
🏉 Sports Romance (Rugby) 🏆 Parkinson’s Disease Rep 🏉 Club Owner x Player 🏆 Hobby Hunting 🏉 Found Family
Violat Page, genuinely thank you so much for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinions! If I’m half the detective I believe myself to be, I think there were some crumbs for future couples scattered throughout the book - if you need an ARC reader for those too, I would love to be of service!!!
Having skyrocketed to fame as a teenager, Jade McKallen is now an extremely successful influencer and businesswoman who lives and breathes work. She has no time for anything else-- something her ex-boyfriend had no qualms pointing out before he broke up with her.
Then, the perfect opportunity fell into her lap, and she snatched it up: the opportunity to become the majority shareholder for the Legends, a London rugby team she grew up watching with her Dad (who now lives in the iconic city himself). The team recently fell from grace due to its captain, Tieran Stone, suffering a severe case of the "yips".
So Jade moves across the world to take up her new position, making it her mission to rebuild the Legends' skills and confidence. She is determined to give the team everything they need to climb back to their former glory. Even if it means facing relentless antagonism from the other shareholders, who are determined to see Jade fail.
The catch, through all this? Jade and Tieran had an intense one-night stand the night that Jade arrived in England, but before they knew who they were to each other. Jade wants to move on and pretend it never happened-- pursuing a relationship could cost both of them their jobs-- but Tieran has other ideas. And, it turns out, they may just be exactly what each other needs... For Jade, to learn how to live the life she wants again; and, for Tieran, to overcome the demons eating away at more and more of his confidence.

MY THOUGHTS
This book, in all its sports-laced glory, conveys the true meaning of "living to work" instead of "working to live". It shows you how trying so hard to live up to others' expectations, and for so long, can mean you forget who you are. That you forget what you're even living and fighting for in the first place. Violet beautifully writes Tieran into Jade's life so she can learn to live and enjoy it again. I particularly loved the archery scene 🤣 (iykyk).
I also FROTHED over how Tieran and Jade were, due to conveniently (FOR ME) inclement weather, forced into an environment where they had no choice but to grapple with their own attraction to each other... AKA the sex club scene 🤣
One of the biggest highlights for me, though, was the camaraderie of the Legends team. The way they could empathise with Tieran without any words being exchanged. How loyal the team were to him, and how they trusted him, even when Tieran felt like he was letting them down again and again. I particularly loved how Jade became an honourary Legend herself, by being the only shareholder to steadfastly advocate for the team and give them what they needed.
This book embodies what it means to live instead of survive; to enter an environment filled with toxic masculinity and to make it your bitch.
Thank you for the ARC, Violet ♥️🏉 I wish you and this book every success, and I am so happy I could be even a small part of the journey.

4⭐️ 2-2.5🌶️ ARC REVIEW 📖 BLINDSIDED 📖 by Violet Page ✨ This is book 1 in the Legends of London series. Jade just moved to London. She meets Tieran, a professional rugby player (but she doesn’t know that), at a pub and they have a ONS. A week later he sees her at work because she is the new owner of his team. Oops. 🤫 They both fight their attraction, and she tries to avoid him but he’s infuriatingly charming. I love their banter and so does Jade - it makes her feel alive. He’s a bit of a green flag (draws her a bath, cooks for her, adopted a rescue Staffy 🥹) but don’t worry, he has a deliciously dirty mouth. 🤌🏻 But the best thing to come out of his mouth is ‘women first’. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Jade is a badass - she’s confident and used to being alone. Tieran gives her a safe space to give up control and for the first time feel like she doesn’t have to do everything by herself. She can shut off her brain with him and just be. Meanwhile, he carries the weight of a championship and is scared to let anyone see him struggle but Jade sees through the act and gives him the freedom to enjoy the game again without the pressure.
After a disastrous last season, Tieran is ready to focus and prove himself. He’s under a lot of pressure and scrutiny to win matches - he had the yips last season and feels like a failure as captain because he let down his team and coach. He puts on a brave face/front, but he feels inadequate. She sees through it.
Her ex said she was cold and hard to love; she doesn’t think she’s likable. She’s built an empire by making smart, logical choices but she’s tired of playing it safe. He brings her balance, she brings him peace. His father is quiet and provides for his family but isn’t affectionate, so Tieran thinks his dad will praise him/find him worthy only if he does well in rugby. He wears a mask but she sees through the false bravado. He’s hot and nice - a walking green flag.
❤️ He calls her ‘Hellfire’ ❤️ Thigh tattoos ❤️ ‘Good girl’ ❤️ He cleans his fingers ❤️ He adopted a shelter dog - blue Staffy named Pebble ❤️ 🐱👋 ❤️ He pushes it back in ❤️ ‘Open your eyes’

Content warning: parent with Parkinson’s, panic attack
Thank you to Violet and Love Notes PR for letting me read/review. All opinions are my own.
First Impressions: An influencer and a down-and-out rugby player find companionship and forbidden love, which each mi h navigate their own changing goals and priorities.
Pacing: The book takes place over about a year, and the pacing feels very authentic for that passage of time.
Character development: Tieran (MMC) and Jade (FMC), while in completely different professions, both find themselves at crossroads. At the beginning of the book,Tieran's prowess on the field has significantly declined after being publicly dumped by his ex-girlfriend. He desires nothing except to go to the Olympics, but can't seem to get out of his own head. Jade, a wildly successful influencer and brand steward, longs to be out from under her manager-mother's thumb and believes investing in a rugby team make be her opportunity to pivot. Through lots of bumps and hurdles (and lots of unhelpful meddling) Tieran and Jade join forces to set their lives on the right paths. Tieran regains his confidence and a healthier self image, and Jade finds freedom from gilded cage. Also, I absolutely adore Aanya is a total girls' girl, and becomes such a wonderful friend to Jade. Too many romance books miss this critical relationship.
World Building: I've never been to the UK, but the book paints a gorgeous pallete of metropolis with endless food, art, and experiences. It contrasts with the quieter life Jade's father has found in retirement, just a stone's throw from Tieran's family home. Together the two locations create a rich tapestry upon which the narrative is crafted. And "Flick the Bean" is the best cafe name for a romance book.
Romance: Who doesn't love a saucy, forbidden workplace romance? I wouldn't call it an enemies-to-lovers, but Jade and Tieran have some fun oil-and-water banter throughout the book. Jade eventually realizes that both she and Tieran have deeply bruised hearts that need to be treated with tenderness and patience. Tieran sees how overworked and unhappy Jade is, trapped by her mother's ambitions. The romance is sweet, smart, and healing.
Spice: While not a terribly slow burn, good things come to those who wait. But author, Violet Page, does deliver on the naughties. The spice is sensual and deeply loving, but there is a notable scene atop the Eye of London.
Errors and Consistency: Four hundred and forty-two pages, and I found a single incorrect punctuation that I'm sure a good editor or beta reader will find.
Overall experience: I've never seen a single game of rugby, but I might be a fan for life. This was a wonderfully fulfilling romance with great banter, memorable side characters, and some truly touching and relatable moments.
⭐️ 5 🌶 4.5
And the secret main character, Pebble, is well and happy (possibly happier) by the end of the book.

Okay guys- I don’t want to write a review that gives a ton away for new readers but I’m gonna do my best to be honest and insightful and hope it makes sense. I want to start off by thanking the author for sending me an eARC even tho I was a bad girl and didn’t get around to it for a little bit (friends with long TBR’s…you feel me?)
Introducing Violet’s second work of art- Blindsided. Dare I say I enjoyed this more than her debut book (see Silver Linings)? Both pieces are 5 ⭐️’s for their own reasons, but in this second book of Violet’s career I feel like her growth as an author is prominent. Not only did all of our characters have emotional depth and interesting backstories, the plot of the book itself felt mature and multifaceted, which contributed to the ability to hook me in as a reader. Our characters here deal with mental health struggles and burnout that not only made them relatable but human as well. One thing about me, I LOVE when a book makes me feel seen. Violet did a fine job of incorporating real life challenges with fun, lighthearted banter and turned it into a dimensional story. Knowing that this is going to be a series that circle backs to other stories involving other characters within the realm of rugby has me excited to see what Violet comes up with.
Speaking of rugby, props to Violet for writing a sports romance and for writing it well!! I don’t know diddly squat about rugby, but I wasn’t lost within the plot. I was able to use a lot of context clues to fill in the blanks about what I thought was going on during any specific sports scenes. I know for other readers their opinions may vary, but personally I liked that she didn’t take about 12 pages every time to over explain what was going on. If I wanted to learn the entire ins and outs of rugby I would have read a sports manual for it. This is a romance. Get to the romancing, you know what I mean?
And when I say romance, I mean smut. Plainly speaking. My girl did not disappoint! There were some SPICY and SEXY scenes in here, but there was also emotional development too. The main characters’ romance wasn’t just centered around their physical attraction to each other- they shared vulnerability and an openness that strengthened their connection throughout the book.
Overall, this was a beautiful, fun read for me (and hopefully for everyone else). I’ve said it to Violet many times over, but I’m not usually one to go out of my way to read romance. I am a fantasy, sci-fi, historical fiction girl through and through. I don’t normally like cheesy, gushy, love stories…but once again Violet has shown me the light. Thank you for sharing your work with readers around the world, it’s an honor to know you and an honor to be able to write this review (and I promise I’m doing this objectively…if anything wasn’t up to standard I would say so) 💗💗
All-consuming romance with a forbidden twist. Because what could possibly go wrong when he works for her?
Give me a tattooed rugby player and a young, wildly successful social media mogul turned club owner and I was invested from page one.
Tiernan is tall, sexy, swoon-worthy, and effortlessly charasmatic... but beneath that calm controlled mask he wears? He’s fighting an internal war. Self-doubt, pressure from every direction, the fallout of a failed season, and a messy public breakup that left its mark but not how you would think.
Jade is running, looking for change without knowing truly knowing it. She is powerful, driven, and completely in control...at least that’s what it looks like to everyone around her. She’s built an empire and often has to fight for her space in male-dominated worlds. She owns every room she walks into.
But success doesn’t cancel out loneliness - and the cracks are starting to show. She’s the definition of a badass...but even she’s searching for something more.
He pushers her. She pushes him away. He challenges her. She challenges him right back.
But what she doesnt expect is for his mission to become her. His goal to become knocking her off balance and tearing down all those walls.
And in the midst of it all...she has become his calm. His peace. His anchor when he can’t find solid ground on his own. He’s absolutley gone for her. Completely.
The banter? Elite The chemistry? Immediate. The tension? constant.
And Aanya and Jade’s new blossoming friendship? Obssessed. Their friendship is unexpected, layered, and honeslty one of my favorite parts of the entire story!
Cav and Myles? Tiernan’s best mates and two of the ost fiercely loyal, protective friends he could ask for. The kind of guys who show up, no questions asked, and stand in the fire with you. They bring brotherhood energy that balances everything out and makes Tiernan’s world feel real, grounded, and solid.
This was my frist Violet Page read and it absolutely did not disappoint! The writing flows effortlessly, the dialogue feels natural, and the witty back-and-forth with have you smiling over and oveer.
This one started off with a bang and went right to the spice...slows into a burn...and then - BAM. We escalate (yes there may be an accidental visit to a sexy club involved).
I am actually OBSESSED with this book 😭🏉🖤 Blindsided completely tackled me to the ground emotionally and I loved every chaotic second of it. Violet Page really said “what if I gave you insane chemistry, emotional vulnerability, workplace tension, AND a tattooed rugby captain with anxiety?” and I simply never recovered.
Jade McKallen is THAT woman. Smart, driven, self-made, intimidating without even trying, and so used to carrying the weight of everything herself that she barely lets anyone close. Watching her walk into this male dominated rugby world and own it anyway was SO satisfying. She wasn’t written as cold either. You could feel the exhaustion underneath all that control and competence and it made me love her even more.
And then there’s Tieran Stone 🫠🥵 This man had me giggling and kicking my feet one second and clutching my chest the next. The contrast between his cocky charming public persona and the anxiety quietly eating away at him underneath absolutely wrecked me. He felt so REAL. The pressure, the panic, the fear of failing again after the scandal… my heart honestly hurt for him.
But together??? THESE TWO. Dear god.
The tension was immaculate from the very beginning. That first night together had sparks flying everywhere and then finding out she’s the new owner of his rugby team??? The DRAMA. The awkwardness. The longing. The constant push and pull between professionalism and wanting to tear each other’s clothes off at every opportunity 😂🔥
What I loved most though was how emotionally intimate this romance became. Tieran slowly seeing through Jade’s walls while Jade learns the man behind the easy smiles and flirting? UGH. It was soft in all the right places without losing the heat. They challenged each other, comforted each other, and genuinely made each other stronger.
Also the rugby atmosphere was SO good. The team dynamics, the pressure of the season, the media scrutiny, the ownership drama… it all added so much tension without overshadowing the romance. Everything blended together perfectly.
And the chemistry??? Absolutely ridiculous. Every glance felt loaded. Every argument felt like foreplay. Every vulnerable moment hit me directly in the soul. Violet Page wrote them with so much heart that I felt completely consumed by their story.
This book felt like standing in the middle of a storm under stadium lights while your heart does backflips. Sexy, emotional, empowering, funny, and deeply romantic all at once.
Give me tats & THICC THIGHSSS😮💨🤤 I did NOT think I would love this as much as I did, but wow did Vi surprise me with this one! It was fun, "cheeky" & definitely had some spiceee🌶️🌶️🌶️. and there's like starting us off with a pub bathroom scene. A classic case of 2 strangers meet in a bar, have a connection & indulge in a night of fun. Keeping the intrigue of anonymity, both Jade & Tieran keep everything light- except the building fire/desire for each other. Having just landed in London less than 24hr prior Jade's arrival definitely needed a handsome & welcomed distraction in form of walking sex god that is Tieran. Fast forward Tieran's ready for a new season out on the pitch, but no one knows who the new majority owner is of the team... In walks the boss bitch Jade McKallen. The woman that Tieran hasn't stopped thinking about, but now she's the one signing his paychecks. In a constant battle of being a workaholic, moving to a new country to be closer to her dad & fight the urge to jump a hot rugby captain, Jade's learning to steal "every morsel of joy out of life" she can. And who can deny a confident man that would be on his "hands and knees" if he was told to... but also makes time to spend with your sick father🥹. Tieran also dealing with his own internal struggles that have bled into all aspects of his life, affecting the one thing that matters most- his love of the game. Having been publicly dumped & ostracized for leading his team into a losing streak, Tieran is fighting to get back to the top & maybe that vision is with Jade right there with him. But is all fair in love & war? I was BLINDSIDED by how much I enjoyed this book, with innuendos, witty banter, fun side characters & also the seriousness of a having a sick parent. Honestly cant wait for Book 2! If your for: 💘Strangers to lovers 🖇️Boss X Employee 🇬🇧Intercontinental settings (London vs West Coast) 🏉Sports 🔥🥵HOT RUGBY PLAYERS ❤️🩹Love of a sick parent-Parkinson's Disease recognition Do yourself a favor & pick up this book! Thank you Violet & LNPR for sending this ARC 4.3⭐️
If you are looking for a book with a strong, independent FMC with an Obsessed MMC in a sports romance set in London, then this is the book for you. Blindsided is book 1 in the Legends of London series by Violet Page; this series will be an interconnected standalone following different couples for each book. I would firstly like to thank Lovenotes PR and Violet Page for giving me this ARC. Importantly, this book contains some triggering content, so please check the trigger/ content warnings before reading.
This was one of my most anticipated reads for the month, and it did not disappoint. The story was a mix of character and plotdriven, and I had so many intense moments that had me glued to my Kindle. I loved seeing how Jade adjusted to her new life in London , and seeing her meet new people who didn't take advantage of her for once, especially her next-door neighbour. As you read further into the book, I felt we did not just learn a lot about the main characters but also the side characters and what they are dealing with, leading to a good background for the next few books in the series. I do have to say that the tropes were done really well. I loved seeing the black cat and golden retriever. Each part came together really well, and the build-up to certain events also had me scared many times.
Jade and Tieran's story will be one that I will always remember. It showed so much tension and yearning from these characters, but sometimes in a way that was not really seen in romance books through Jade's side. Tieran showed so many times that he would do anything for her and was in it for the long run, and you could see how much he truly cared for her. Seeing his struggles as a professional rugby player was done really well, showing that sometimes the fear of failing can take over not just your mindset but also how you play, especially with the media and the public. Jade showed how even when you have it all, people will just take you for granted or use you. I do love how she found a really good friend who did not take advantage of her and helped her out so many times. Seeing how Jade would mask herself as being strong and working to make everyone happy made me really relate to her. Overall I love this book and hope you pick it up on release day ( 6/05/2026). Happy reading
Before picking it up, I had just finished Silver Linings by Violet and completely fell in love with her writing style. Then Blindsided got me even more hooked.
Let’s start with the setting… London aka perfection 🇬🇧 I absolutely love London, and I’m familiar enough with it that I felt really immersed in the story. But even if I wasn’t, the descriptions made everything so easy to visualize. Also, rugby sports romances aren’t as big as other sports in the genre, so as a huge rugby fan, I was so happy 🏉 I’m Irish, so I’m very familiar with the sport in general, and I completely ate this up.
I also loved the contrast in American vs English vernacular. The characters had such distinct voices, and it was always clear who was American and who was English. The slang was PERFECT 🇺🇸🇬🇧
As someone who struggles with friendships, the bond that developed between Annya, Lottie, and Jade was so beautiful to read 🤍 Watching Jade finally find her girl gang felt really healing, and I loved seeing those connections grow naturally. At the same time, Jade as an FMC was everything. An influencer turned businesswoman, okay go off 👏 I loved how the story explored that typical influencer image and then showed the deeper, more vulnerable side of who she really is. She was strong, unapologetic, and didn’t shrink herself for anyone, especially men, and I loved that she was actually the more powerful and successful one. We need more FMCs like her in books ✨
Now the MMC, Tieran… HOT HOT HOT 🔥 If you know anything about rugby players, you already get it. But beyond that, his redemption and personal growth, especially as he finds comfort in Jade, was so good. His relationships with his friends and family felt raw and real. Their banter never felt cheesy, and that first night they met set everything up perfectly 👀
All in all, I cannot recommend this book enough!!! It’s your turn to swoon over rugby men for a change 😌🏉
✨ Tropes: ✨ • Forbidden romance • Workplace romance • She’s the boss • Opposites attract • Black Cat x Golden Retriever
Thank you so much to Violet for sending me an ARC of Blindsided 💌 I’m so excited to get my physical copy when it releases on May 6th 📚✨
