This book is an electrifying, highly addictive, and utterly essential read for fans of the hockey romance genre. From the very first page, the narrative grips the reader with a passionate, intense connection and truly explosive chemistry between the two main characters, Layla and Griffin. The author masterfully crafts a love story that is both steamy and deeply emotional.

The deeply fascinating central narrative revolves around the six-year separation of the protagonists, Layla and Griffin. This significant period apart was not merely a pause, but a crucible for profound personal and professional growth, ultimately leading to significant success for both individuals.

The story excels in its pacing and conflict resolution, particularly in its handling of the external conflicts with the antagonists. These issues are resolved effectively and with satisfying emotional payoff. Furthermore, the narrative includes a pivotal and emotionally overwhelming birth scene that serves as a powerful peak moment in the couple's journey, testing their bond and solidifying their future.

Overall, however, this romance is a powerful exploration of second chances, enduring love, and the complex journey to true emotional vulnerability.

A really fascinating read, The villains of the story were easy reprimanded by the end. 6 years apart definitely became a good bit of growth for both of them, even if they had to meet again due to one person's bad behavior putting his career at risk. Deciding to stick up for feelings, love and each other won out for Layla and Griffin, in life and career. Oh, I balled after the baby was born. I can see the realism in the not quite being together in a legal commitment and afraid for one another leaving, but it really wasn't addressed that because he has been on the other side of his dad leaving it gave him more reason to stay.

I have read this author before and I did enjoy some of her previous books. This book was good but it did feel a little repetitive at times and the time jumps were so confusing as well. It was a quick read. I’m honestly not 100 percent sure how I feel about it. That isn’t to say someone else wouldn’t like it. Thank you for the opportunity to read this before the release date.
