Blood on the Books

Rate this book
A hidden message. A growing attraction. A race against time.
When a box of donated cat books arrives at the Silver Hollow library, Meg Bramwell expects nothing more than dusty paperbacks.
Instead, she finds a warning.
Hidden markings and underlined passages point to someone in danger. As more books arrive, the message becomes clear, someone is trying to communicate, and time is running out.
As Meg follows the clues, the danger grows closer, and so does Brian. What began as an unexpected connection quickly turns into something neither of them can ignore, with a life hanging in the balance.

2. Arson in the Archives - Starting over is hard. Dodging an arsonist is worse.
After being cut out of her father’s will, Meg Bramwell takes her brother’s offer to turn a run-down building into a library. With the help of Brian Hooper, a quiet librarian with unexpected warmth, Meg begins to build a new future, and fast-growing feelings.
When a string of fires sweeps through town and targets the library, Meg and Brian dig into old records and dangerous secrets someone is desperate to hide.
With flames closing in and sparks flying, Meg must stop an arsonist before her second chance, and a promising new relationship, go up in smoke.

Blood on the Books is an interesting, twisted, small town, cozy mystery. It seems Silver Hollow has a wellness institution where no patients ever leave. Meg keeps receiving donations of books with cryptic passages underlined. Who is trying to communicate - and what exactly are they communicating? When Meg, Brian and Dirk tie the communications to Avery, in that institution for continuously lying, they do not know what to believe. You do not want to miss this fascinating book as Dirk goes undercover at the institution and the trio tries to solve a murder or two!

Review of advance copy received from Author

This is my voluntary review of a copy I was given.

This story starts right where the previous story ends. There's a murder mystery in this one. Or is there?
The young woman in town known for telling tales says she saw a murder. Of course Officer Bennett won't take it seriously. That leaves it for the library gang to investigate.

I really enjoyed this tale.
