Ate this book up in a day! It started out with the telling vs. showing writing style from the first one but got significantly better as the book went on. I deeply enjoyed the messaging about love throughout and Halle might be my favorite girl! Can’t wait to read the third one. 🫶🏻🫶🏻

If she writes it... imma read it

This book broke me and put me back together all in about 220 pages!!

Lovely Fate is book two in the Lovely Series as we follow the life and love of four friends!! Emerson's story was told in Lovely Lines and this book was the story of Halle and Sebastian! Brittany Ruben is a gem and this book lowkey wrecked me! This story touched on the anxiety of a girl finding her niche as well!!

Playboy × Sunshine☀️! Fake Dating Trope!

I was so honored to be one of the first people with a physical copy of this book! I was blushing and giggling through most of it! (Many tears were also shed as well!)

Lovely Fate Book 2 of 3: The Lovely Series
Author Brittany Rubin
Publication Date February 6,2026

Thank you, Brittany, for sharing this fun romance with me! ❤️

Diving into the second book was kind of like having dessert after a good meal. I was ready for it, and once I started, I flew through it just as quickly as the first book!

Halle Wyatt has always believed in love, fairytales, and, most importantly, the idea that everyone has a soulmate. She sees the beauty in everything through the lens of her camera. To her friends and family, she’s Miss Sunshine, but underneath that cheerful exterior, she feels everything much more deeply than they realize.

Then there’s Sebastian Sullivan.

Sebastian is the COO of the Morgan-Sullivan company. He’s flirtatious, charismatic, confident, and has recently found himself in a bit of hot water thanks to the tabloids. His brother is threatening to take everything away from him unless he cleans up his act.

So when Sebastian approaches Halle with an enticing deal, it seems like they could both get exactly what they need. But what starts as a mutually beneficial arrangement might end up changing both of their lives in ways neither of them expected.

I really enjoyed Halle and Sebastian together! Halle’s belief in love and happily-ever-afters was such a fun contrast to Sebastian’s more complicated situation. There was plenty of chemistry, romance, and just enough drama to keep me turning the pages.

This was another fast and entertaining read for me, and I’m really enjoying this series!

I definitely recommend this book if you enjoy romance with a little bit of a fairytale feel. ❤️✨

I also highly recommend reading the first book before this one. It’s not absolutely necessary, but it really helps you get to know the characters and understand the connections going into this story.

Another fun addition to the series, and I’m ready for the next one! ❤️

I love a good fake dating trope! Halle was my favorite character from the moment she was introduced so to see the world from her own POV was fantastic! Her baking and recipe concoctions were amazing. I was a little bummed because I didn’t fall in love with Sebastian as much as I would’ve liked, he still seemed jerk-y to me even to the end tbh.. but I loved Halle’s perspective and glad she found the one for her🤣🤣🤣 The book was so well written and my favorite moments were from Halle’s diary and how she was perfecting everything in real time writing.

A quick cozy romance! I think Halle is so sweet. It's almost painful watching her deal with what happens. I think Halle may be least like me. Not in a bad way, but I related to her third so far.

I ate this book up. Halle may be the cutest character ever, she’s in love with love. But never the luckiest in love. Watching her navigate the ever charming Sebastian and how to handle him was adorable. But what really made this book for me was Sebastian. His transformation throughout the book and showing that truly love can make you a better person!

I am clearly biased, but I do love this book. Halle is the sweetest friend anyone could ask for. She sees the world in a way I wish I could see it. She may be naive and get burned, but she finds her own strength while still remaining who she is. Sebastian is on the surface level, a playboy with no cares in the world. But if you go deeper, he does care fervently. He just doesn't show it in the best way. The two of them seem to balance each other in the best ways. The friends' found family has been what I have loved most in this series as a whole. Each girl views love differently, as we have already seen with Emerson and now with Halle, but at its core, the love of friendship is the heart of this little series.

Hello, Sunshine! ☀️

Halle is a baker and photographer who dreams about her perfect rom-com moment.

Sebastian is a wealthy playboy who needs to clean up his image.

Sebastian enlists Halle to play his fake girlfriend. Will his plan work? Will this fake relationship fix his reputation?

Rubin has done it again! She had me absolutely hooked from page one. I was glad I had read book one first because the characters from Lovely Lines are still very much a part of this story. Knowing their backgrounds wasn't just helpful—it felt necessary. There were also themes from the first book that carried beautifully into the second, particularly the idea of making choices for yourself rather than living according to someone else's expectations.

As with book one, Rubin gives her characters plenty of opportunities to grow. Halle and Sebastian challenge each other, learn from each other, and change because of it.

I also really appreciated how distinct Halle's voice was from Emerson's in Lovely Lines. Halle didn't feel like another version of the same FMC. She had her own voice, personality, dreams, and way of looking at the world, which allowed this second book to shine on its own.

I went into Lovely Fate without really knowing what to expect, especially since there wasn’t much of a description, but it turned out to be a pretty emotional and reflective read.

What stood out to me the most was how much the story focused on the characters and their feelings. It leans more into the idea of love, choices, and how timing or fate can shape relationships, which I found interesting. Some moments felt really genuine and relatable, especially the inner struggles the characters go through.

That said, the pacing felt a bit slow at times, and I found myself wishing certain parts had a bit more depth or clarity. Still, I appreciated the overall tone of the story and the way it tried to capture the emotional side of relationships rather than just the surface.

Overall, it’s a decent read if you enjoy character-driven romance and something a bit more thoughtful than fast-paced.

This was a fast read! I think because i knew most of the characters from the first book it was easy to fly through! I haven’t read this trope before and it was good!

Halle is a sweet girl who loves, love! Sebastian is a rich socialite.. what could go wrong? Or right?

I felt every bit of Halle being so down in the dumps after finding out about the guys bet. Plot twist. I mean i thought they’d be off into the sunset honestly.. Oof. I mean it hurt.

It was nice to see Sebastian really be down about her too. In sweat pants and all disheveled. It was nice to bring him down a notch or two in his flashiness. It felt more realistic.

I’m glad it wasn’t a an immediate HEA. After that type of hurt it wouldn’t have felt real. This felt real and I’m glad Halle decided to trust again after being hurt bc sometimes that’s when the real thing comes along for good.

The Lovely Series: Sebastian and Halle

Book two in this series, and it follows Arden’s brother Sebastian and Em’s best friend Halle.

I fell in love with their story. The progression of the relationship was sweet, and absolutely gorgeous. But then, the other show dropped, and that twist absolutely broke my heart!
I couldn’t believe that Britany Rubin would do this to her readers…. I felt so betrayed on behalf of Halle!
Halle’s belief about love, already skewed due to contant gallery rejections, is decimated and it was a section of the story that definitely brought out some strong emotions.

I do think, in a way, that the ending felt a little rushed and perhaps a little vague, but it was still a very enjoyable story.

Quick, Easy Read

This could be read as a standalone or in order, whichever you prefer but it doesn’t hinder the backstory. Halle is a sweet soul that loves love. Sebastian is a work in progress and trying to better himself but sometimes makes mistakes.

Solid read.

Definitely a quick and fun summer read that hits home.

A cute fake dating romance with Halle, who is sweet and a ray of sunshine, and Sebastian, flirty and charismatic COO in need of cleaning up his reputation.

The growth of Sebastian had me hooked. As he fell for Halle, his change showed falling for the right person can motivate a person to become a better person.

Halle was adorable and I loved how she challenged Sebastian. She hasn’t been the luckiest in love but she has tremendous strength.

Halle and Sebastian were great in this. Complete opposites on the outside, but Sebastian is one of the most caring people ever. He just doesn’t show it in ways that are understood. These two together were wonderful. And I loved seeing them come together. This was such a sweet story.
