The author is an advocate of the Montessori teaching system. It seems to me that this only works if you have unlimited time, space and money, and thus is out of the reach of most parents. Some of her ideas are also rather dangerous, like allowing an 18 month old to play with real bricks instead of toy ones. I'd take her advice only after serious consideration.
