What a fun book! Mollie Gynn's characters come to life in Pine Creek, Texas! Primrose Tea Shoppe is owned by Rose Peterson with Jane as her tea shop baker and right hand "woman". When Jane discovers Rose dead in the apartment above the shoppe, the community is in shock. Who would want to kill Rose? Jane and her friends narrow it down to a handful of suspects. Life goes on but Jane is worried that there is a murderer among them. Gynn describes the characters, places, and events so well that they are very easy to imagine. This book has a good pace and a surprising ending. I liked the platonic relationship Jane (48) has with her dead husband's friend Ben (50), who has also lost a spouse. I like older characters in cozy mysteries. There are hints of romances to come and I look forward to seeing what happens next!

I feel in love with Pine Creek after reading the prequel to this novel and Darjeeling Deception didn’t disappoint. The mystery was developed well, so it keeps you guessing until the end! The characters are fun to get to know and I can’t wait for the next book to see how they develop. Super fun, cozy read!

This book is like the first sip of hot tea on a cold morning, it warms you all the way to your toes! I loved my stay in Pine Creek and kinda wish I could move there. I loved visiting with Jane and her family and feeling like I was hanging out with old friends. The mystery kept me guessing and the ending was satisfying; everthing you want in a cozy mystery! Cannot wait for the next book!

My niece gifted me with this book. She knows I love cozy mysteries and she was right on the money with this one. It has all the elements I love - a quaint little town in Texas, a tea shop, a group of knitters, and, best of all, a precious cat. Eagerly awaiting the next installment!
P. S. I can’t wait to try out the recipes in the back.

A solid start to (hopefully) a fun cozy tea shop mystery series. Likeable characters that I’m interested in seeing grow with a solid plot. It works as a standalone while also being a good foundation to start a potential series. Fingers crossed we get more from Jane and the Primose Tea Shoppe.
