I kept my life, my business, and my peace intact, never planned to let a man who wasn’t clean cut and didn’t work a nine to five come in and flip things upside down. I was solid before him. Focused. Protected.
But when I prayed to God to send me a real one, somebody who could stand next to me and not behind me, He sent me Ghost.
He wasn’t the man I wanted. He was the man I needed. Ghost came from the streets, lived by his own rules, and carried danger like it was second nature. Nothing about him was polished or predictable. He moved different, thought different, loved different. And that should’ve scared me away.
Instead, it pulled me in… in a way I wasn’t ready for.
Ghost walked into my life and shifted everything without even trying. He saw me, really saw me, not just the business, not just the strength, but the soft parts I kept buried and forgot anybody could love. He challenged me, tested me, pushed me past limits I didn’t even know I had. Every time I told myself I didn’t need him, I found myself wanting him closer, wanting the way he made me feel when it was just us and the world went quiet.
The more he disrupted my world, the deeper I fell for him.
He wasn’t safe. He came with a duffel bag full of baggage and skeletons that rattled loud. But somewhere between the chaos and late night talks with smoke in the air, my love for him grew roots. Slow at first, then deep. And Ghost, reckless and hard as he was, became crazy about me in a way that surprised even him. Protective. Locked in. Like I was the one thing in his life he wasn’t willing to gamble with.
For the first time, I didn’t want safe. I didn’t want easy. I wanted Ghost. All of him. The danger, the devotion, the love that felt like fire instead of peace. And somehow, in the middle of all that madness, he became my choice… and maybe the best risk I ever took.
If you're a fan of African American romance and love stories filled with passion, danger, and unforgettable chemistry, then A Good Girl & An Unhinged Savage by Indica is one you'll want to read.
I really enjoyed the overall development of Tia and Taj’s love story. Watching them build and grow together felt natural, and I was invested in their journey.
Where it lost me a bit was the ending. The final turn didn’t feel aligned with the Taj we had come to know. I understand that the shock factor was probably the point, but based on how deeply he felt about Tia, it just didn’t ring true for me. That shift pulled me out of the story.
Still, it was a solid read overall. Just not one that fully stuck the landing for me.
Tia told herself she’s not getting involved with a man in the streets, but in walked a man who goes by the name of Ghost. Tia doesn’t know what hit her since he was relentless in his pursuit.
Ghost is like an onion with many layers to peel off. An unfortunate tragedy occurred and both Tia and Ghost didn’t know how to handle this delicate situation, so they both crashed out, but Ghost took it too far and I was so upset with him, since that was not the way to handle this situation!!!!
Take a wild ride with this couple for outcome and what bad decisions were made (wipe brows). Did they get their HEA!
Ok, let me just say this!!!! I loved this story. I loved how Ghost moved and how he knew what he wanted and how to go about getting it. Tia made him WORK for HER heart! He did fumble the ball and messed up. It was only a gift from above that he was able to recover and get her back. He truly put Tia through some things and I was pissed. He is lucky her brothers ain’t try to get with him behind her… There is just something about an Alpha male… WHEW! Tia is a real one though. The story also showed how not all of your girlfriends want to see you elevated. Jealously is real and you handle yourself accordingly. Indica, keep doing your thing, Sis💜💜💜
This is my first book by Indica. Tia was getting on my NERVES! I get your values or whatever… but she wasn’t giving Ghost a single shot and it was getting me so mad… but once she did, baby girl did not want for NATHING! Ghost was the perfect gentlemen. He loved Tia unconditionally. Thuggish and all. But bayyyyybeeee when isht hit the fan, Tia was nothing to mess with. The ending had me on edge, heart pounding. This was a great book. I’ll def be on the lookout for more books by Indica.
This was a good read. Tia was kinda tap dancing on my nerves a lil bit but I was glad when she finally gave Ghost a chance. He should her how a real man treated his woman. Now he did disappoint me for a second but I'm glad they were able to work it out.❤❤
Damn this was a good book. Ghost and Tia was THAT couple. I loved how he went after what he wanted and got her. I don’t think I could have forgave him as quick as she did though. But when you love like they did, anything is possible.
Oh, hell yeah, Ghost was a straight up savage! He eradicated a couple of bloodlines during this story. He was, however, a different man when he was with Tia. And as savage as he was, he made some dumb decisions!
From the first chapter I knew I was in for ride, and let me say I was not disappointed!!!! First time reading on of her books and I’m headed to check out the rest of her library!
A good read with a storyline that is full of drama, lies, secrets, and trauma. I definitely love the characters, despite their issues. This is definitely worth the read.
