Vince Flynn’s #1 New York Times bestselling series continues the American Assassin storyline taking a young Mitch Rapp on his first deep cover mission in which he infiltrates a jihadi organization bent on unleashing a weapon of mass destruction—written by Don Bentley.

Mitch Rapp signed up to be an assassin.

A lone wolf who hunts and kills his nation’s enemies on their turf.

Now, he has a new mission.

When Mitch’s target—a Pakistani chemical weapons scientist for hire—is snatched from the streets of Verona, the American Assassin must penetrate the jihadi cell responsible for the brazen kidnapping before they can make use of the scientist’s deadly expertise.

But Mitch isn’t the only one interested in the scientist.

The Pakistani represents an existential threat. A threat that will fray alliances, force enemies to seek common ground, and resurrect long settled vendettas. As the events triggered by the kidnapping cascade out of control, Mitch Rapp must stop the chain reaction before the Middle East reaches critical mass.

Absolutely loved this book and I truly hope Don stays on and continues to write and continue this path of the Mitch Rapp series. Don truly gets this series and the characters. The origin stories and the build up of characters and the original ideas are amazing. To see Stan in the field and to know what Rapp eventually becomes you can see how Mitch is exactly who Stan wanted him to be. The two men are so similar and cut from the same cloth. I love seeing Irene grow and learn on the job and become the amazing leader and character she is in the future books. The brilliance is to give us the backstories set in real history. It brings us to the story and catches our attentions. You can tell this all leads to Transfer of Power eventually and I hope Don can stay on to lead up to that! I loved this book and am excited for ride.

Mitch Rapp never disappoints! Vince Flynn created the much beloved “American Assassin” hero, and Don Bentley has, once again, proven that he “has the chops” to keep the legacy alive, by adding another outstanding edition to the series. Double Tap is a high-energy page turner, with twists and turns that keep you guessing, and make for a very entertaining read. Highly recommended!

A nod back to Mitch Rapp in his early days and Don Bentley knocks this one out of the park! Classic Rapp in this one getting in the thick of an international incident while fighting to save the work with the help of Irene and Stan Hurley. The details in this one are the chefs kiss because the historical references are simply perfection. I particularly love the building of the Rapp character as insight into who he becomes in later books. It’s really quite brilliant. Thanks to Atria Books for the advance read.

Capture or Kill decorre por volta de 2011, situando-se entre Pursuit of Honor e The Last Man, ambos de Flynn.

Don Bentley has another hit on his hands with “Double Tap”! I’m a big fan of his taking the series back to Mitch’s younger days, and this story takes place between “Denied Access” and “Transfer of Power”. The book is the definition of a page turner — it grabs you from the beginning and it is hard to put down. The action, twists and turns, and overall story is right in line with what you expect from the Mitch Rapp series.

Bentley does a phenomenal job incorporating classic characters like Stan Hurley and Thomas Stansfield into the narrative…and there are more surprises in store as Rapp races against the clock to find a kidnapped Pakistani scientist before his expertise can be used to send the world into crisis.

Vince Flynn created an amazing world with Mitch Rapp, and Don Bentley has done an incredible job taking over after Kyle Mills…for me, Don’s writing style is reminiscent of Vince’s work and this book is a welcome addition to the series. Do yourself a favor and run, don’t walk to pick up “Double Tap” when #MitchRappIsBack this September!

If you like fast paced action and a thrilling ride with some great characters written by a master storyteller then Double Tap is for you. Don Bentley is the scribe behind this adventure and he picks up the story of Mitch Rapp where Kyle Mills left it after he had a go at continuing wht the now legendary Vince Flynn once created. I am a big fan of Bentley and his work as well as that of Mills and Flynn. But Bentley has found a loophole in the saga of Rapp. He finds these periods in Mitch life that is missing in all the earlier books and fills them with great stories. That way he doesn't have to deal with a field operative that is ageing, it's brilliant. I was hooked by this book from the first few sentences and then it was just a matter of staying awake to read and enjoy. It took me two sittings over the weekend and it was well worth the time. The book will be available in mid September this year and you do not want to miss out on this great story. I must thank the folks behind the ambassador program for letting me one of the lucky ones.

I can't believe this is Don Bentley's third Mitch Rapp novel already! Another excellent entry into the series and another throwback to help fill in some of Mitch's early years.

Mitch is sent to kill a Pakistani chemical weapons scientist before he can sell his knowledge to the highest bidder. When the assassination attempt goes wrong, Mitch must unravel the mystery and find out who the other interested parties are. Friends become adversaries and adversaries become friends.

It's always a treat to get a new Rapp novel and even better when it features old favorite characters, Irene Kennedy, Thomas Stansfield, Stan Hurley, and even Scott Coleman are along for the ride. We're even along when Mitch meets a certain Italian fashion model/Israeli assassin.

I can't recommend this one enough, I truly didn't want it to end.

Mitch Rapp is back to his roots, in the new Vince Flynn Thriller by Don Bentley and this is by far not only the best in the series, but by far the best of the genre. Mr. Bentley writes with an understanding and skill that belies his age, I lived through the times he wrote about and yet his perception of the geopolitical forces of the times are so spot on, I’d almost forgotten what I’ve lived through.
This is the 25th Mitch Flynn book and yet the 2nd that he has taken Rapp back to the beginning. At first, I was skeptical, but truly I was sucked right in. This one was a complete masterpiece. I found myself re-reading chapters as the writing was absolute perfection. Oftentimes I get a little bored with combat, but in this case what there is I find easily understandable and compelling.
Most rating programs go up to 5 stars, but I rate this one as 10!

I have had a chance to read the ARC copies for the Vince Flynn series books since we lost Vince. They have all been great, as were Vince's versions. #MitchRappisBack indeed and the prequel nature of this book is so perfect.

@bentleydonb has created a #MOAb mother of all Books in the #MitchRappisBack universe with #DOUBLETAP , @VinceFlynnFans @VinceFlynncom team should be excited for September 15. Might be hyperbolic to say this is the best book in the Mitch Rapp universe But WOW!!! #WOW

Great work by team at @EmilyBestler
Trying to avoid spoilers, but to say the funniest line in the book involves Mitch Rapp and Stan Hurley- Mitch thinking to himself, Don Bentley wrote, HOW THE OLD CUSS TRACKED HIM DOWN, RAPP DIDN'T KNOW" Was late in the book after all the great action and surprises.

Once again, Don Bentley has chosen to go back in time to when Mitch Rapp is less than five years into his new life of doing whatever assignment Irene Kennedy has asked of him. Irene is not yet 30, Thomas Stansfield is alive and well, Stan Hurley is still kicking butt and Scott Coleman is C.O. of SEAL Team 6.
Although the year is not specified, it's 20 years after the Israeli Olympic massacre, so it must be 1992.
Now Mitch is tasked with getting to a Pakistani chemical weapons scientist before the bad guys can utilize his talents.
No spoiler, but in the epilogue Mitch and Stan are discussing the good, bad and ugly of the operation and the name of the bomb designer comes up. Looks like Don has a head start on his next novel.
You don't want to miss it when it makes its debut on 9/15/26. Don is carrying on in finest Vince Flynn and Kyle Mills tradition.

This is a prequel to very early in the Mitch Rapp series. I received this book as an Advance Reader's Edition. After the first few chapters I realized that this book was from an much earlier time in Mitch's career so checked and found out it my assumption was correct. I'm not a big fan or prequels. I much prefer to read a series from start to finish or current times than have prequels added which seem to rehash earlier times. Overall the book was an ok read, but it makes me wonder if there isn't enough going on in the world now to have continue the story line rather than revisiting a much earlier time in the main character's career. I'm glad that I got the ARE to read, but not sure I would have paid for it when it is released in September. Just an FYI I generally don't purchase books I read so many, I try to check them out electronically or in print from my local library.

Been a fan of the Mitch Rapp series forever. Starting with the Vince Flynn, to Kyle Mills, and now the third Rapp book written by Don Bentley … DOUBLE TAP. Bentley takes us back to a younger Mitch Rapp, providing additional back stories to characters from the earlier novels. And, as I’ve come to expect from the Mitch Rapp series, plenty of non-stop action, providing another page-turning adventure. And, something tells me, there is more to come. Bentley continues to carry the legacy of Vince Flynn admirably. Don’t miss this one.

Mitch Rapp is back, and this page turner feels like watching a blockbuster movie.

Picking up after Denied Access, Mitch is tasked with taking out a chemical weapons scientist, that is until things don’t go as planned, leaving Rapp to figure out who else is pulling the strings.

Don Bentley hits every mark here. The pacing is fast, every chapter ends with you wanting more, and I flew through the final 100 pages in a single sitting. Bentley has officially found his groove with these characters, and I’m fully along for the ride!

The thing I enjoy the most about Don Bentley's books is that they start fast and that pace continues throughout the pages. The kidnapping paints a picture so clearly it's as if I'm there. I'm drawn in deeply, quickly and there's no way I could set the book down (not that I'd want to).
All 3 books Don Bentley has written in this series are fantastic. I was a little disappointed when he left the Clancy universe but he has been a blessing in Flynn's as well. I'm thankful for his investment.

READ MY FULL REVIEW AT Best Thriller Books

Filled with intrigue and action that packs a powerful punch, Double Tap lets Mitch Rapp off the leash to do what he was born to do. Namely hunt and kill jihadi terrorists. Don Bentley patiently and skillfully sets the stage before releasing the hounds of hell to drive an explosive climax to this latest throwback Rapp thriller.

This is Mitch Rapp at his best and the top in the series since Don Bentley took over. The plot is page turning and will keep you on the edge of your seat. Even the language throughout the book is that of what you expect from Mitch Rapp. As an OIF Veteran, I enjoyed the setting and storyline taking place in the Middle East. It was straight out of a different time in American foreign policy. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

This story was a bit slower than the usual Mitch Rapp stories and didn’t pick up until the last 1/4 so I didn’t love it. It was nice to see earlier versions of the characters that have been with this series forever-Hurley, Coleman and Irene but I missed the fast paced storyline that is usually this series. I can’t wait to see what the next story brings! I hope it’s a new story from current day Mitch!

Another Mitch Rapp book, and once again it's fantastic reading. Filling in gaos of a younger Rapp, author Don Bentley produces another action-packed ride that gives depth to characters and easter eggs for the later novels. The mix of action, intrigue and snarky Stan Hurley comments is a recipe for thrilling success once more. Well done, Don. Vince Flynn would be proud.

I enjoyed this book and felt it was Don's best work in the series. The ending set up a ton of avenues in which Don can explore.
