AngelFall #3

Seraph's Silence

Rate this book
Shadows are all she’s known…until a fallen angel draws her into the light.

Silence has lived her entire life in a cult, following its crushing rules in hopes it would give her somewhere to belong—but all she got was a brutish husband whose death left her grateful for sudden widowhood. When angels appear at the cult, demanding information about a hidden coven of witches, Silence leaps at the opportunity to escape.

All Azrael wants is a path to his world. The last thing he wants is a mate—yet he finds one in the alluring human woman who is the one person who can guide him to a forgotten coven that might be his only way home.

When Silence’s dormant magic blossoms unexpectedly at the hidden coven—along with an unwelcome attraction—ancient monsters awaken, leading to a string of bizarre deaths. When the grumpy angel isn’t scowling, he’s kind and gentle—everything she once dreamed of. Azrael realizes he’ll do anything to protect his mate, but will their newfound love tie him forever to a place where danger destroys all hope for their future?

Seraph’s Silence is the third book in a paranormal romantasy series. Perfect for fans of fated mates, fallen angels, gothic tones, and dark magic.

An ARC review - Thank you so much Anna for letting me be part of this.

Ok, so I read this after doing the ARC for book 2 (Seraph's Blade) - which I thought was really good, I gave it a 4 stars.
So, Azrial and Silence were introduced back in book 2. It's a cosy predictable romance. Short and sweet. Honestly if you need a palette cleansers, this book series is great. It just resets you to get back to the more intense books, with insane world building and conflict.

I didn't enjoy this as much as book 2, but that is because I feel like the author might be prolonging the resolution. In summary, the Angels fell from their realm 50 years ago, and so far across now 3 books, they still haven't found a way home, but they have found homes instead that they are much more happier with. But I was expecting this to be a trilogy, so when they didn't conclude finding a way back to their realm (regardless of them finding new homes that they would rather stay in) I was disappointed.
I will admit, I don't know how many books Anna is writing, so if I knew this was a more than a 3 book series I would have managed my expectations better, but I was really rooting for them to find a way back. Not necessarily for the angels who found a new home, but for the ones who still haven't. I feel bad for the homeless ones. Is that wrong?

Though Anna did good making Silence insufferably submissive. Obviously she has been raised that way and knows no other way, but Az bringing her out of her shell, and being a "wicked girl" - go get it girl!!! Glad to see her come out of her shell somewhat and her abilities. I still think Martha is sus and did they resolve the fampyire issue for real? It just seemed really fast, that I am holding my breath, that it wasn't the end of them. Az's hunger *bites lip* I'm just very happy he caved and ate his delectable meal. We do not hate on a guy who can eat, even if he can come across like a 2 pump chump (iykyk)

Overall this was still an enjoyable read. I am much more of a fan of the Castiel and Lilith's love story, but still decent.
Spice: 1 🌶️ the scenes were descriptive to an extent, but since it was a slow build up, there wasn't much.

Thank you to the author for an e-arc of this book. I’ve been on the arc team for this series since book 1 and have enjoyed it.

This installment was not my favorite. I was pretty excited to drive into Azreal and Silence 1) for their romance (especially him being so grumpy) and 2) looking to dive into more of finding a way “home” for the Seraph’s.

Their romance just fell a bit flat for me this book. Azreal is the one who has never wanted a mate and then finds it in a human. And Silence has only ever wished for someone to love her unconditionally. Something she’s never gotten from her family or her now deceased husband. The story had its moments of their differing personalities but I wanted them to dive even MORE into different backgrounds and lives and have them build more and more into that relationship. It had the groundwork there, just needed a bit more mmmph behind it for me personally. They had some good conversations and I was wanting more of that because both of them have quite the stories. 💔

Overall, we advanced the story but still kind of feel no closer to an end at the same time 😂

I was also looking for more out of the spice 🌶️. Books 1 and 2 had more thought out spice to me. While this book had the foreplay, the actual spice was very brief and just left me wanting more.

I still really like this series and will absolutely continue reading. I am a bit nervous about the next book. If I was reading the epilogue right, the next book’s FMC is going to be like 50? I don’t know how I’ll feel about that but I will give it a shot lol

Returning to the AngelFall series felt like catching up with old friends, and Seraph's Silence was another enjoyable installment in a world I've really come to love.

Anna Evernight continues to build an intriguing fantasy world filled with angels, danger, and emotional moments that kept me invested from beginning to end. I especially enjoyed seeing the characters continue to grow as they faced difficult choices and new challenges. Their relationships remain one of the strongest parts of the series, adding plenty of heart to the action and mystery.

The story kept me turning the pages with its steady pacing and a few twists I didn't see coming. That said, there were a handful of moments where I wished certain scenes had been explored in a little more depth, particularly some of the emotional conversations and newer plot developments. I would have loved just a bit more time to sit with those moments before moving on.

Even so, I genuinely enjoyed the journey and found myself eager to see where the series goes next. It strikes a nice balance between action, emotion, and fantasy, making it an engaging read for fans of angelic fantasy and character-driven stories.

A heartfelt thank you to Anna Evernight for the opportunity to read an advance copy of Seraph's Silence. I'm so grateful to have been trusted with an ARC, and it was a pleasure to continue this series. As always, these thoughts are entirely my own.

Seraph’s Silence completely sucked me in and refused to let go. Anna Evernight absolutely nailed the gothic atmosphere, the creepy magic, and the emotional journey of Silence. My heart broke for everything she’d endured and watching her finally discover freedom, her own power, and a love she deserved was so satisfying.

And Azrael… whew. Give me a grumpy fallen angel with a soft heart any day! 🖤 He acted all stern and scowly, but underneath he was so gentle and protective with Silence. Their fated mates romance had me kicking my feet and grinning like an idiot. The chemistry between them was chef’s kiss and I loved how their relationship developed amidst all the danger and chaos.

The hidden coven, the awakening magic, the ancient monsters, and the bizarre deaths kept me glued to the pages. Every time I thought things might slow down, something new happened and I just had to keep reading one more chapter… which turned into half the book. 😂

This series just keeps getting better and Seraph’s Silence might be my favourite so far. Dark, magical, emotional, and incredibly romantic with a hero I absolutely adored. If you love fallen angels, fated mates, gothic vibes, and heroines finding their strength, you need this book in your life. I devoured every page and already can’t wait for more!

A journey shrouded in mystery, encasing us in Book 3 of the Angelfall series, after complete pandemonium has Azreal, a brooding dark seraphim who seems to be hiding far more than he reveals, joins forces with Silence.

A girl descended from an ancient witches' coven whose deep magical roots are entwined with the fallen in search of a portal home, uncovering long-buried secrets. Silence's transformation is one of the novel's strongest elements. Raised within a religious occult and burdened by self-doubt, she is thrust into a world of mystery alongside the enigmatic Azreal.

Azrael and Silence’s story was a mix of mayhem, raw angst, and fiery chemistry. Layered with sharp twists, and a thick plot unraveling ancient secrets, while forging new bonds and pulling fresh faces into the fray. Promising an epilogue with even higher stakes, new revelations, and an irresistible pull toward the next chapter of the Angelfall series.

I think this is my favorite one thus far!

Silence has been taught to blend in, avoid asking questions, and take up as little space as possible. We’re immediately pulled into an interesting adventure when she and Azrael—a grumpy seraph who believes humans are no better than ground worms—are paired to travel to Raphael and Judith’s witch coven. Their mission to uncover what happened to the mysterious black-winged archangel takes a backseat when local villagers continue to be found drained of blood.  HMMM..

This story took a spooky and intriguing turn with new creatures being introduced to the plot!  I’m wondering, but I think we’ll learn more about them later.  They casually dropped vague hints that might be helpful later to learn what exactly caused the seraph’s fall.

Watching the character growth between these two characters is magic.  A true partnership compliments each other, and these two learn to do that a lot easier than you would initially think.

This is book 3 in the AngelFall series and I feel like we got so much more from Silence than previous FMCs, we’ve seen Silence appear in previous books, having been Eva’s bestfriend and forced to marry Lilith’s horrible brother. To pair her with human-hating, antisocial Azrael was a good example of being paired with those who bring the best out of us. We see Azrael soften towards Silence pretty quickly and Silence come into her own strength. The added plot of the witch coven and dangers lurking in the shadows added an interesting twist to their growing romance.

I did find some of the language around spicey seems off putting, personally dislike the use of “Cunny”, “maidenhair” and “nubbin” 🤷🏼‍♀️ also, could Silence not trip everytime they walked somewhere 🤣 she needed to watch where she was going

3.5 stars because of the MMC

Angel Fall: Azrael and Silence

This is a dark(ish) and angsty romance with a fated mate, angels, witches and new enemies….

Azrael is grumpy and guarded, and very, very judgmental. While Silence is trying to survive her past, and just doing her best to keep moving forward.
Both have secrets in their past, and the reveal of his, while pretty out there, wasn’t as shocking as I would have thought due to some foreshadowing throughout.

Not a fan of the MMC at the start, and it took a long time to warm up to him; this is a little angsty at times, steamy at others, and does a great job continuing the series while setting up the next.

Thanks, Anna Evernight, for the advance copy.

I absolutely loved Seraph’s Tears so when given the opportunity to read the ARC of Seraph’s Silence, I was beyond excited. Let me tell you, book three in this series did not disappoint. I devoured this book in a day because I had to know what would happen for Silence and Azrael. Our MMC is grumpy but a lovable teddy bear underneath all the grunting. Our FMC is a sweet baddy. It is hard not to fall in love with them. There is yearning, fated mates, and a slow burn plus ~ 4 spicy peppers. I loved the characters, plot, and spicy moments. Can’t recommend this series enough. Now I impatiently wait for book four because all the seraphs need to find their person!

I've been lucky enough to be an ARC reader for all three books in the AngelFall series, and it is quickly becoming one of my favorites.

In each book, the story continues by following another set of characters from the previous book. I am absolutely loving this writing style.

If you love fated mates, fallen angels, myths & legends, and gothic vibes...please add this series to your TBR.

Highly recommend! I can't wait for the next book!

Thank you to the author for the gifted eARC in exchange for my honest review!

I was so excited for Azrael and Silence cause I wanted her to break through his super grumpy walls. And boy were those walls thick, because of course he’s stubborn (and an idiot 😉). I loved seeing Silence find her voice and find her inner strength.

It’s always fun to learn more about the world where the angels come from and what happened to them in the past. I’m excited to see and learn about the other angels in the group and get to know their stories.

I have been lucky enough to be on the ARC team from the beginning of this series. I have looked forward to each new installment.

This one was not my favorite so far but I did enjoy it. It felt a little rushed and I didn’t connect as well with either character. That being said I love the series as a whole and can’t wait to see where it takes us!

Obsessed with this series! Azrael is the grumpy angel who has no time or patience to deal with Silence. Silence is the timid woman with no real world experience. What could go wrong? I loved to follow them on their journey to find themselves and each other. This book had me hooked right from the beginning. Thank you for this 5 star read!!

🪻I received an ARC from the author so the thoughts are my own 🪻

Seraphs Silence reminded me why I love Elide and Lorcan from Throne of Glass. The dynamic between Azrael and Silence is what I've been needing for a while since i read "So Lorcan did." I love Silence! She is what I would imagine Rhiannon would look like in the song with the same name by Fleetwood Mac.

3.75 ⭐'s rounded up
The story continues on in Seraph's Silence. This book follows Azrael and Silence in their hunt to find more information on how to find the Seraph's way home. I was really looking forward to Azrael because he has been so stand offish and grumpy in all of the previous books. I loved seeing Silence grow stronger within the book. There was some angst and slow burn, as well as the "F it" moment that we all love! Looking forward to seeing what's to come!

Loved Azrael and Silence. Their connection is everything. And in their journey to hero Az get home, there’s so much that takes place. I loved the twists and turns. This is the type of story that pulls you in and keeps you turning the pages. I absolutely loved this one with these two.

This is the third story in the AngelFall series. I think you should read the first two books in the series in order to understand the initial plotline of this story.

This is the story of Azrael and Silence. They are tasked with travelling to a far off witches coven to discover more information about the royal Seraphim that fell centuries ago.

This is a grumpy x timid mouse story. Azrael doesn't like humans, or seraph's beyond his sedgemates...or anyone really. Silence has just been widowed from a violent man who thought nothing of her.

As they trek through woods, villages and mountains, Azrael and Silence learn more about each other. They find the witches a trouble they weren't looking for.

I love the this third book in the series. I love the growth arc for both characters. I can't wait to read the fourth book.
