A lot of things were happening, either sloppily developed or supported.
The story was distracted from its main focus by subplots, which made it longwinded.

Too drawn out for me!
This duet would have been better as one book. It was a good enough story but I found myself skimming a lot. Never had a real connection with Ronan. Too much hate sex, make up sex and not enough true feelings until well into the story. 3.5-4 drawn out stars.

I liked the first book better than this one. Ciara made me crazy and she was so annoying. I rarely dislike the FMC but she was dumb. The book was ok otherwise, if not predictable.

Book 2 starts with a big bang mafia style, the fierce Ciara goes out alone, to save her best friend Mira from real danger. Ronan when he finds out, goes feral trying to save them both.
His family, and friends are being targeted, there's a mole inside his most trusted circle. Danger, death is all around them, nowhere is safe. His family reputation is held by a thread.
Kira Cole keeps you guessing, who's betraying the brother's Sullivan's trust, and putting their business in serious trouble, especially the ones they love the most. Mafia is a dangerous business.
The story gets more interesting when Ciara finds out she is pregnant.
The plot thickens as we go, and I have a feeling that we have a lot more to discover as the series continues with this Mafia Family some of the threats are still around them all.
Kieran is the next target!!! He is the 2nd eldest and an important part of the business. His story is the next one book 3.
To be honest I am not the biggest fan of cliffhanger books. I prefer longer books within a series, but That's just my preference.
This book ends a bit too abruptly in my opinion, I would have liked to see an epilogue on the couple and the ongoing pregnancy.
I'm assuming that book 3 in the series will pick up where Avenged Vows left off. The steam & spice🌶️ 🔥 continues with our hot Ronan & Ciara. They definitely have some ups and downs as they become a real couple, and fall in love.
This was a fast pace read. You do need to read them in order.
We get to know each of the brothers a little better in this book.
I definitely recommend this duet! 🙌

Ciara’s thinking about texting Ronan her location is definitely what saved her from being hurt and saved Mila from further hurt.
I agree to hiding the pregnancy until the doctor can do a scan but anything beyond that is I think too far. Seeing how Ciara has reacted to things in the previous book, I’m thinking that she will try and do just that. Especially since her and Ronan are fighting right now.
You’d think Ronan is pregnant with how possessive and hiring is constantly is around Ciara. But she is reaping the benefits that come with it even if she has a guilty conscience about not telling Ronan about the baby.
And Ronan isn’t helping himself by keeping information to himself about him going to beat Max up the night be was killed. And now, OF COURSE, Ciara has found out and feels betrayed. Both Ronan and Ciara have information that they are keeping from each other that will break or severely damage the trust that they have within each other.
Also, Ronan has a problem with delegating tasks. I get that he is the leader now but he is taking in too much and is wearing himself thin. He should take advantage of Ciara’s education at the very least—even if she works from home. Things are going to blow up in his face.
BBBBUUUTTTT the Celtic tattoo is significant from Max’s surveillance video. Isn’t that what Angie had on his hand?? Is Angus the one pulling the strings?? Or someone within his organization??? Or maybe Lorcan, he was Ronan’s dad’s second but he hasn’t really been around much to help with Ronan’s ascension to the “thrown”…
Okay, so Ronan thought the guy that killed Max was dead…so he knows who it is. This Finn character is suspicious as well as the fact that Lorcan hasn’t contacted Ronan back AND that he isn’t at his “favorite” residence. Some things aren’t adding up.
I really hope that Stephen isn’t the leak. That means that he had access to all of Ronan’s things, security, the intel that Ciara unknowingly gave, the secret computer that Max had. EVERYTHING! And Ciara felt safe with him. Ugh he was a nice guy. I really hope he actually is getting Ciara medical attention for her abrupt pain and not just taking her into a hostage situation.
UGH WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE STEPHEN!!! Declan obviously knew where to press. Stephen is torn between his two families and is obviously choosing his own over Ciara—rightfully so but it’s still heartbreaking. But damn, Ciara has survival instincts for sure. And tbh, I’m glad that Ronan went back to get Stephen. Even though he felt like he had no choice, it would have weighed on Ciara if he died because she veered the car off the road. But I think that by Ronan killing him after confirming that Stephen set up the drop location and that his family would be safe is not something that Ciara will forget anytime soon. I’m sure that the baby is going through some sort of negative stress event since she is under so much stress and fatigue. Her body is on high alert, I don’t really have much positive thoughts that threat baby is okay…
Soooo Finn was working with Declan. Clearly there are multiple parties at work here considering Finn alluded to the fact that Ronan has already lost and he doesn’t know it yet. But the real question is, why did Finn feel like he wanted to betray the only family he ever had with Ronan’s uncle? Or perhaps his uncle is in on this too?????
I’m confused too why the hit on the safe house was meant for Kieran. I mean I get that he is an essential part of the Sullivan empire but why him? The more this goes on the more I think that Lorcan is behind this or somehow Callum is involved since he told Ciara that he had something in the works. I’m so confused about the whole thing now. It kind of feels like Declan was a decoy. And Angus hasn’t been brought up again, did he ever find anything or get back to Ronan?????

“Avenged Vows” is the second book in “The Sullivan Mafia Series.” The story continues….features brutal payback, possessive devotion, high-stakes fallout and a hard-won happily ever after. Ronan Sullivan has just taken over as head of the Sullivan Irish Mob after his father was recently assassinated. Ciara McCarthy is the daughter of the deceased head of the McCarthy Family, that is now disgraced. “The McCarthy name was once a force to be reckoned with, a reference. Now, it is a curse.” Now it is just herself and her brother Callum that are left. The life her father worked so hard to build for them has crumbled before their very eyes. The Sullivans dismantled her family and its legacy piece by piece until there was nothing left.
The story continues…. When Ciara’s best friend Mila is kidnapped and her brother killed, instead of waiting for Ronan, she goes by herself. “If Mila’s life wasn’t at stake, I would have listened. I would have gladly waited for him to come and play hero.” Ronan is angry at her for no waiting but “can’t deny that part of me is fiercely proud of what she did to save her friend. She’s braver than anyone I know. Stupidly brave, but brave all the same.”
The Sullivan family is under attack, from inside and outside. They have a traitor within the ranks that is putting the families name and reputation that his father spent years building at risk. “Whoever orchestrated this is behind my father’s assassination. It’s clear they want to destroy what’s left of the McCarthy legacy, but mine too.” With Ronan being so cold and distant, she finds out that she is pregnant with his child. She knows that he wants children, but does he want them with her….”He’ll probably just think it’s some ploy to fix things between us.”
Ciara is getting angrier at him, he locks himself away in his office or out with his brothers, ignoring her, cutting her out….emotionally and physically, she is drained. Not knowing what to do, where she stands anymore, if he even cares. “I’m tired, Ronan. I’m tired of being your emotional punching bag. I’m hurting too, but you only seem to care about how any of this affects you.” Their relationship is at a crossroads….but everything comes to a head when Ciara is kidnapped and he finds out that she is pregnant! “I was scared, Ronan. Scared of what this would mean for us, scared of how you would take it.” Their relationship is complicated and confusing….”I want you to know that I would burn the world for you too, Ronan.”
The story is full of passion, humor, intrigue, betrayal, vengeance, power, control, twists and turns around every corner - most of all love ♥️ There is never a dull moment - you will be hooked! The book goes from pages that sizzle, to extreme violence, to the most beautiful tender moments! You will fall in love with Ronan and Ciara, hoping that everything with work out for them and that they have a future together.

I love these two characters! The story is full of passion, intrigue, betrayal, vengeance, power, control, twists and turns around every corner. There is never a dull moment - you will be hooked! The book goes through moments of the thoughts or possibilities that it could happen to, to extreme violence to the most beautiful tender moments! I’m very happily hooked! I did not want it to end! From page to page, chapter to chapter, I could not put it down - you will metaphorically be on the edge of your chair! Overall, I would highly recommend this book and you will not be disappointed 😊

This book throws you straight back into the action, with Ciara risking everything to save her friend Mila. It’s an intense opening, and you can feel her internal battle as she tries to find the courage to take that final plunge. Thankfully, Ronan arrives just in time.
Once the danger has passed, the adrenaline fades, leaving nothing but grief, guilt and heartbreak. The weight of what happened to Max, Mila’s brother, hangs heavily over both Ciara and Ronan, and you can almost feel that guilt radiating from them.
Things quickly become strained between Ronan and Ciara once again. Just when she needs him the most, he shuts her out. Then Ciara discovers something that could change everything, but she can’t bring herself to tell him.
The worry she carries throughout the book is almost tangible. Her secret follows her through nearly every chapter, and if I’m honest, it became a little frustrating. I found myself shouting at my kindle, “Just tell him already!”
The deception continues to build, creating more tension with every page. And… can we take a moment for Stephen? I was absolutely gutted.
As the danger escalates, the brothers come together to uncover who’s pulling the strings. But while they uncover one threat, it becomes clear someone else is still quietly manipulating events from the shadows. This si the continuation of Shattered Vows which is book 1 of the Sullivan Mafia Series. Book 1 left us on a cliff hanger with our very brave but very hardheaded Ciara walking into a dangerous situation with no back up.
Ronan begs her to stay out until he get there to help but Ciara has always taken care of herself and this time will not be the exception.
This book follows their journey of figuring each other out, realizing that they indeed love each other and that the Sullivan organization has a mole.
I loved this story and I love these characters. As frustrating as Ronan is, I appreciate the encouragement the rest of the family and staff give Ciara that he does love her and they have never seen him this crazy before about anyone or anything. But don’t twist it, dude has some serious possessive and over protective issues.
The betrayal to the family is still ongoing and I have a feeling I know who it is but Kira has a way of keeping you on your toes throughout all her books so I will just have to keep reading to see if I am right.

Avenged Vows is the second book in The Sullivan Mafia Series and it starts right where the Book one Cliffhanger left us, which was where Ciara was going to Mila’s rescue, and Ronan racing to get there. After rescuing Mila, she moves into Ronan and Ciara’s house for protection. The Sullivan name is in danger of losing its good reputation and loyalty that Ronan’s father spent all those years building, there is definitely a mole releasing information and they can’t figure out who it is yet! Ronan and his brothers are working all hours, and it’s making Ronan short tempered and fearful for Ciara’s safety.
Ciara’s is keeping her pregnancy a secret from Ronan because he is completely on edge, not sleeping, out of the house so often, because every time she has tried to tell him he has cut her short because he is working, or going out! Ronan and Ciara are facing more danger, betrayal and at the same time their relationship is constantly changing. The chemistry between them is absolutely off the charts. It this is not enough to get them through the other issues, do they get their happy ever after!

Conflicted is how I feel. There was spice there was drama there was character development and it was well written. But some things felt lacking, the spice after book 2 felt repetitive there was nothing new that they did like there was different types of bondage but nothing else too crazy and I feel like they were the type of characters to want to do that stuff. The mmc is really unreasonable at times and what he said would be different to what he just thought, it was nice to see him change though but there was something missing. The fmc has back bone but then she also forgives some stuff too easily so it’s like one moment I loved the interactions and the next I was frustrated but maybe that’s the point.
The mmc forces the fmc to marry as a power move and to save their family name. She hates him but they start having s. He has enemies and a mole and he’s really protective over her too much sometimes, they start to developed feelings she gets pregnant and threats are getting worse at some point her friend gets killed and her friend mila gets kidnapped, she puts herself in danger and he keeps fucking things up with her and apologising.

This was supposed to be a business arrangement nothing more but a strategic plan...until it wasn't. Ciara knows what she wants, knows what she deserves. She's an outspoken MFC which I love, too often they're soft spoken & don't speak their minds but Ciara does. When Ronan is hot one minute & can't keep his hands off her & the next he's pushing her away. He wasn't raised with love or knowing the importance of a loving relationship; he was raised to lead the Mafia, to break others, & not to build them up. Ciara is at a crossroads with a major decision when she finds out she's unexpectedly pregnant with Ronan's baby. She doesn't know what he wants because he doesnt communicate well. And let's be honest they've been together for such a short period of time. Ciara & Ronan each keep their own secrets but what happens when Ronan's world is flipped upside down & Ciara is in danger what will he choose; will he burn the world down & put the Mafia aside to choose her Or will he put the family business first? Ciara & Ronan burn hot & its a beautiful relationship you watch them build. Definitely recommend!.

In the previous book in the duet, Ciara pulls a TSTL by going to perform a rescue mission without backup. This picks up where that left off.
Ronan and Ciara were arranged as a business plan, but you’d never guess that from the heat level. Really good sexytime, but there’s energy they have between them whenever they’re in a room together is intense, and not just sexxual. I think they are actually well-suited.
Now Ciara is pregnant, because of course she is, and she doesn’t tell Ronan because of course she doesn’t. SMH. The man is incredibly stressed, granted. There is definitely an enemy within and it has pushed Ronan to the edge. He’s a J/P hero at the best of times, and I have no idea why that’s so sexxy in books because IRL it would make me crazy. Well, crazier. There’s something about an Alpha, that je ne sais quoi…
I enjoyed this book, partly because of this same je ne sais quoi, and partly because together they are fire. There’s a bit too much manufactured drama/TSTL action in this duet for me to be giving it five stars, but it was entertaining as heck and Kira Cole is a very good writer.

Wow, the story of these two was simply steaming. It's not just the intimate frisky scenes between the two of them either, they can talk pretty dirty and then he's got a temper. You absolutely must read the first book before reading the second one or you will be lost and confused. This second book is a continuation of Ronan and Ciara's story and their stuggle with their relationship with each other and with the mafia. The story starts right off with a pretty intense event and then continues on from there. The story has several twists to it. One in particular I didn't really see coming. Like with most mafia stories there's usually a "rat." I thought about who it was and thought, no its not him then thought hmm maybe, then thought no its someone else. . . then bam we find out who it is. Good amount of violence, drama and suspense in the story for me, it kept me reading the story all the way through in one sitting.

My biggest issue was Ciara. Her stubbornness went on for waaaaay too long and was a character flaw she WASNT going to grow out of. She hid her pregnancy from Ronan for an ABSUUURD amount of time, and even after almost “miscarrying”, she only told her brother-in-law because she needed to go to the hospital. Ronan didn’t even find out from his own wife—his brother had to tell him while she was “kidnapped” 🤦🏻♀️ - “Congratulations, your kidnapped wife is pregnant.”
Then, despite being pregnant and having just gone through all of that, she still wanted to join an armed fight🔫. At that point, her stubbornness crossed into recklessness and a complete lack of consideration for her circumstances in being pregnant
The external plot didn’t help either. The mole storyline spent far too much time going in CIRCLES 🙄 without enough meaningful progression. There was a lot of searching and discussing who the mole could be, but it was REPETITIVE vs. the story actually moving “forward”

I really enjoyed the layers of mystery, betrayal, and the constant feeling that something was about to explode. The mafia elements, possessive devotion, and looming consequences kept the pages turning. While some moments were frustrating in that “just talk to each other” way, it fit the chaos of their situation.
Overall, Avenged Vows delivers a suspenseful, emotional continuation that wraps up Ronan and Ciara’s story while setting the stage nicely for what’s to come next in the Sullivan Mafia series.

Avenged Vows is book two of the Sullivan Mafia Series and centers around Ciara And Ronan. Every word, every moment, held my attention and was beyond gripping, having me rushing from one page to the next to learn what happens.
Ciara and Ronan had unbelievable chemistry between them. The spice was beyond hot. Their story was filled with emotional ups and downs that really accentuated on how raw, real and undeniable their connection is. The mystery surrounding who the murderer was had me nearly pulling out my hair in suspense to learn who it was, and though the book ended on a cliffhanger, it was written and fleshed out so perfectly. I can't wait for more of this series!!
Ciara and Ronan had unbelievable chemistry between them. The spice was beyond hot. Their story was filled with emotional ups and downs that really accentuated on how raw, real and undeniable their connection is. Avenged Vows, book two in the Sullivan Mafia series continues from the ending of book one, with Ciara going to rescue her best friend Mila. As Ronan digs deeper into what’s been happening behind his back, he discovers that not everyone is as loyal as they seem and the Sullivan name is on the verge of being ruined forever when a mole targets Ronan, messing around with his shipments and causing chaos. All while this is happening, Ciara discovers she’s pregnant, but with everything that is happening, she worries about telling Ronan the truth. Can she keep her pregnancy a secret, even when all of their lives are in danger? And what happens when the mole begins to target the rest of the Sullivan brothers?

Avenged Vows is the second part of The Sullivan Mafia series. It is well-written and suspenseful.

This is book 2 of the series and the continuation of Ronan and Ciara. I loved everything about this couple. They definitely had a lot of ups and downs. There was a whole lot of suspense and heat. When people are after Ronan and his family all they can do, is stick together to keep themselves safe, their reputation safe and the newest member of the family alive and well. I love the Sullivan Brothers and can’t wait to read the rest of the series. I still have questions….the one person I thought was the traitor all

this series is amazing
Love it when the FMCs are anything but traditional and you never know what you are going to get from them. I truly loved that in the mafia world chaos, these two gave real and genuine human responses to their surroundings and life events.
Listened and read to this one and and after reading two books narrated by him, why did I wait so long to listen to James Cassidy narrate?!? The gasps, chuckles and full out laughs make it such an immersive experience you never want to finish. The mix of his dark charismatic voice with the soft but strong willed female narrator mixed so beautifully with Kira Cole’s writing. If you like mafia romances that aren’t by the numbers or need a change up, this is the story for you.
Can’t wait to see what happens next in this family.

I wanted more…
This review has SPOILERS…..
Book 2 left a lot of holes and inconsistencies. Granted the story isn’t over, but I’m confused why Ronan makes such a big deal about Ciara’s father’s past dealings and said he spread rumors to protect her. There is nothing mentioned after that bit of the story. Ciara has video of someone opening an account in her brother’s name, but never shares it with Ronan. That could have explained early on who the mole is. Her brother is involved in “something” but again it’s dropped. The uncle is never around and we just blindly believe it’s from grief. Then Stephen is a mole, but he’s never told anything. Lastly, the brothers all seem very soft and they are always chasing their tails.
I want to like it so I will see what the next book is like. Just expected more!

Unfortunately book two didn’t hit the mark for me. The relationship is so toxic it’s hard to stay invested and keep reading. Every time Ronan and Ciara argue, he kisses her and says ‘I need you’… It’s all bs to avoid actually communicating. They either have sex mid argument or straight after, it’s so unrealistic and they’re just sweeping the problems under the rug until they explode again. Annoying….
I got half way through then started skim reading as it became very repetitive. Ciara is also a crappy friend to Mila. She never checks in on her after her brother max was murdered, and Mila just went on in her daily life like it was forgotten about but realistically she was probably struggling. It seemed like a one sided friendship with Ciara making it all about her and the secret pregnancy.
I didn’t connect with the main characters at all, which led to me not being whole heartedly invested in the story. Both books had so many plot holes and left me scratching my head.
The next book in the series follows Ronan's brother, Keiran Sullivan.

At the end of the previous book, Ciara was going to Mila's rescue. Ronan was right behind her. They are able to rescue Mila and kill her kidnapper. Ciara and Mila are under Ronan's roof for protection.
The Sullivan family is under constant threat which makes Ronan short tempered and fearful for Ciara's safety. They know there is a mole but can't figure out who it is.
There is a spectacular surprise ending which is somewhat of a tragedy, but in the end part of the threat is neutralized.
I loved this story, it was complex, with lots of surprises with plenty of heat between Ciara and Ronan.
I look forward to the next book in the Sullivan Mafia series.

This is the 2nd story in The Sullivan Mafia Series where we find Ciara and Ronan navigating their marriage with Ronan set on running his Mafia against those out to take him down and destroy his life. Ciara does the one thing she never wanted to do…fall in love with her husband and hold on to her pregnancy that she’s unable to share with Ronan. The connection these two have is spicy that has its ups and downs. Ronan cherish’s family above all so when he includes Ciara he’ll do whatever is necessary to keep her safe while figuring out their mole who is betraying family for revenge. Kira keeps you turning the pages with all the twists and turns that you dont see coming. Ronan is trying to find out who the mole is in his ranks, and Ciara is on lockdown with full protection, even at home. Will Ronan be able to find the mole in time and keep his family safe? Will Ronan and Ciara ever get their HEA?
