She played it safe once. Then he walks in and changes the rules.

Emma builds a life that works because it asks for control, not risk. She runs her coffee shop, keeps her guard up, and avoids anything that might crack open old hurt. Then Trent arrives in Wylde Mountain, older, wealthier, and far too steady for a man who looks at her like he already sees past the armor. What starts as a simple drive to a remote ranch turns into sharp banter, loaded silence, and a pull neither of them can talk down.

Trent isn’t just passing through, and Emma isn’t interested in being impressed by money or charm. But the more time they spend alone on the ranch, the more their tension stops feeling easy to ignore. When a storm traps them overnight, every boundary gets harder to hold, and what grows between them feels intense, intimate, and a lot more dangerous than either of them is ready for.

Emma starts out guarded and determined, mistaking safety for peace, but being with Trent forces her to admit she wants more than a carefully managed life. Trent begins as a controlled, self-made man who’s used to holding himself apart, and falling for Emma pulls him toward honesty, devotion, and a future that actually feels lived in.

Trent meets Emma’s caution with patience instead of pressure, and Emma makes him want something deeper than success, control, or a place to disappear. Together, they move from friction and restraint into trust, surrender, and a connection that feels as emotional as it is physical.

A hot, emotionally intense age gap romance built on forced proximity, sharp tension, and a love that asks both people to stop hiding behind what feels safe. It’s about vulnerability, desire, trust, and the difference between protecting your heart and never really living from it at all.

The Elevator Pitch: A guarded coffee shop owner agrees to drive a self-made billionaire to a remote mountain ranch and ends up trapped in a snowstorm with the one man who makes safety feel like its own kind of loss. As the walls between them start to crack, desire turns into something more dangerous because he doesn’t want a moment, and she doesn’t know if her heart can survive being chosen that completely. Set against a winter-locked landscape, it’s a tense, intimate romance about what happens when control gives way to longing and two lonely people are forced to decide whether real love is worth the risk.

Sometimes love arrives when you least expect it… and sometimes it arrives in the middle of a Montana snowstorm.

Trapped in the Wylde by Cindy Smoke is a fast-paced, steamy mountain romance that blends forced proximity, an irresistible age-gap dynamic, and a setting so vivid you can practically feel the cold mountain air—and the heat between the characters. This third installment in the Wylde Mountain Rescue series proves that sometimes getting snowed in might be the best thing that could happen.

Emma Morgan has worked hard to build a life that feels stable. After learning the hard way that “perfect on paper” doesn’t always equal happiness, she now focuses on running her coffee shop and protecting the peaceful life she’s created. Safe, predictable, and drama-free—that’s how she likes it.

Then she meets Trent Davenport.

Trent is everything Emma isn’t looking for. A self-made billionaire who built a tech empire before turning his attention toward building a legacy in the Montana mountains, he’s confident, composed, and used to getting exactly what he wants.

What he doesn’t expect is Emma.

When Emma’s brother—who works in real estate—asks her to show Trent a remote ranch property, it’s supposed to be a simple tour. Instead, a sudden Montana blizzard traps them overnight at the Morrison Ranch, turning a routine outing into something far more complicated.

Because the tension between them? It was already there.

Now, with nowhere to go and nowhere to hide, every glance, every lingering touch, and every moment of quiet conversation starts to chip away at the walls both of them have carefully built.

Trent is an especially compelling hero—commanding, protective, and surprisingly vulnerable beneath his controlled exterior. While he’s used to negotiating billion-dollar deals, Emma is the one thing he can’t treat like a business decision. She challenges him, matches his intensity with wit and warmth, and forces him to confront feelings he didn’t expect.

Emma, meanwhile, is a woman who knows her own worth. She may feel the spark between them, but she’s also cautious about risking her heart again. Watching her navigate that push and pull between attraction and self-protection makes their romance feel authentic and emotionally satisfying.

The snowy Montana setting adds the perfect atmosphere—isolated ranch cabins, roaring fires, and the quiet intensity of being trapped together while a storm rages outside.

If you enjoy:

forced proximity romances

confident older heroes

strong, independent heroines

small-town charm mixed with billionaire energy

cozy winter settings with sizzling chemistry

then Trapped in the Wylde is a delightful, quick-read romance that delivers both heat and heart.

Because sometimes the storm you didn’t see coming…
is exactly the one that leads you to where you were meant to be.

Trapped in a snowstorm at a remote Montana ranch with a devastatingly hot older billionaire? What could go wrong?

This was not on my 2026 bingo card.

Emma Morgan doesn’t make reckless mistakes.

Not after the last time.

At twenty-six, I own my own coffee shop. I built my life exactly how I want it: quiet, predictable, safe. I almost married a man who looked perfect on paper.

But I’ve learned something important.

Safe doesn’t equal spark.

And Trent Davenport?
He’s all spark.

Thirty-eight. Self-made. Broad shoulders wrapped in expensive wool and quiet authority. He built a tech empire and sold it for more money than most people see in ten lifetimes.

Now he wants land.
A legacy.

He’s never met a woman who made him hesitate.

Until me.

When a snowstorm slams into the Morrison ranch and traps us overnight, the tension we’ve been pretending isn’t there snaps.

The way he watches me.
The way his hand lingers at my waist.
The way he says my name, like he’s already decided something.

But Trent Davenport doesn’t do temporary.
He doesn’t do casual.

And when he decides something is his…

He doesn’t let it go.

Now I have to decide.

Am I strong enough to risk my heart again?

This contemporary, steamy, snowed-in billionaire mountain man romance novella steamy, age-gap, slow-burn insta love romance is page-turning with exceptional world-building at a remote Montana ranch, and characters who are a possessive, controlled hot alpha older mountain man, who is a self-made billionaire rancher who previously built a tech empire that he sold for more money than most people see in ten lifetimes, a sassy female heroine who owns her own coffee shop, and is considered the small town's coffee Queen, who are both captivating and realistic. Their journey is enthralling with being trapped in the wylde, explicit, steamy romance that is consumed by steamy sizzling passion, lust, desire, and spice with all the feelings to leave readers breathless and begging for more, being trapped in a snowstorm at a remote Montana rance with a devastatingly hot older billionaire, guaranteed short read with a HEA, humor, chaos/drama, heartfelt emotions/emotional depth, action, adventure, and more. Emma Morgan has her business and her life just how she likes it, so showing a billionaire around a remote property definitely isn’t on her to-do list. But when her brother, Jake calls in a favor, she agrees. After all, Emma knows the Morrison ranch better than anyone. She and her best friend spent their childhood there, racing across open fields, exploring every hidden corner, and filling long summers with sunshine and laughter. That nostalgic return to the ranch was the first thing I loved about this story. You can feel how deeply the place is woven into Emma’s memories, and her affection for it shines through as she guides Trent Davenport across the land that she holds so close to her heart. Every nook and cranny carries a story, and it’s impossible not to get swept up in Emma’s love for it all. And Trent definitely notices. A self-made billionaire with charm and confidence to spare, Trent arrives looking for land—somewhere to finally put down roots. What he doesn’t expect is to be completely captivated by the woman showing him around. Emma’s warmth, passion, and spark are hard to ignore… and that includes her fierce devotion to her coffee. When Trent casually describes it as “surprisingly good,” I laughed out loud, because Emma absolutely does not let that slide. Their banter is sharp, playful, and genuinely fun from start to finish. Things take a turn when a sudden snowstorm traps them together at the ranch. The simmering tension between them quickly becomes impossible to ignore, and I loved watching their walls slowly come down. Forced proximity brings out confessions and vulnerabilities that might never have surfaced otherwise, and inside that cozy ranch house they begin to truly see each other and like what they find. Emma is warm and passionate, but she’s also cautious. She’s chosen “safe” before, but realized that she’d rather be alone than settle. She wants the kind of love that tilts her whole world. Even though their connection builds quickly, the characters feel authentic and emotionally grounded, which made it easy to root for them every step of the way. By the end, I was completely invested in their story and quietly hoping the ranch, and the love growing inside it, would become the source of many more new memories for years to come.

Cindy Smoke delivers an irresistible romance in Trapped in the Wylde. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Montana mountains, this novella brings together a sizzling age-gap romance and the allure of forced proximity. The chemistry between Emma and Trent is palpable from the start, and their journey from tension to passion is beautifully written.

Trent Davenport, the self-made billionaire with rugged charm, is a standout hero—confident, driven, and fiercely protective. Emma’s lively spirit and wit spark against his serious demeanor, resulting in witty banter and authentic emotional moments that make their relationship feel genuine. The snowed-in scenario ramps up the tension, creating the perfect setting for hearts to collide and sparks to fly.

From steamy moments to heartfelt confessions, this novella keeps the reader hooked with its fast-paced plot and engaging character dynamics. Smoke’s storytelling shines through creating a world where getting stranded in the snow isn't just a challenge—it's an opportunity for love.

Fans of possessive heroes, spicy winter romances, and sassy heroines will find Trapped in the Wylde a delightful escape. The authenticity of the characters and their emotions makes the story deeply satisfying, and the happily-ever-after ending brings warmth to even the coldest Montana night.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for a well-written, short read romance that delivers sizzling chemistry, memorable characters, and a satisfying conclusion. Trapped in the Wylde is proof that sometimes being snowed in is exactly where you want to be.

Together by MeemsAngel82

This is another solid read by Cindy! I was curious about how this would go and I love that it is in such a gorgeous setting! The scenes are so vivid and sounds so beautiful. If you have to be stuck somewhere with a handsome stranger... Both leads are likable and this was a entertaining read.

She promised her brother to take this man out into her friend's family's land. They get trapped and their feelings grow.

The attraction is very much there. They are a match for one another and when you have them stuck together things are bound to get even more heated. The two are alike in some ways and respect one another. Then things take it's natural course and they find themselves appreciating one another even more. He breaks down her walls and they are really good for one another. A lovely mountain love story.

A funny gentle romance, like hot cocoa with marshmallows

This is a short novella about Trent, a wealthy businessman who is looking for a home and Emma, the local coffee shop owner who does her realtor brother a favor by showing Trent a ranch to buy. Let's see. Instant world tilting when they meet, long drive into the mountains to the ranch, snow storm that strands them and voila, a funny, snarky, spicy, loving relationship is born. I loved this story. It made me happy and soothed my soul. I highly recommend you get some good coffee, a comfy chair, relax, and read this book. Life is too short not to.

This is book 3 in Wylde Mountain Rescue series. Tropes: age gap, business man, coffee shop owner, and forced proximity. An instalove novella with an older business man looking at buying land and the coffee shop owner who loves the land like it's her own. Trent and Emma both feel the connection but neither were looking for love. Enjoyed their interactions and how they were vulnerable with each other. Good addition to the series.

Book 3 of Wylde Mountain Rescue story of Emma Morgan and Trent Davenport. Now that’s hilarious from the start it seems these two are going to be on each other’s nerves, had to say I thought these two would not make it work but they find true happiness and a place that calls to them together on land that is special to both characters in its own way. I loved how both characters have hidden depths to each one. The past helped shape both characters in ways that makes them perfect for each other.

This is a fast paced, fun and steamy read between two characters that found love in a unexpected place even though they weren’t looking for it. Trent the mmc is looking for a place to buy in Wylde mountain and Emma is showing him the place she practically grew up in. Soon enough they are stranded and falling for one another. Both apprehensive about the relationship but also in love. Liked the story, the characters and the outcome. Can’t wait for Sarah’s story, Cole sounds an interesting fellow.

I loved the connection between Emma and Trent, the way they just clicked, could be so open and honesty with each other and the way they saw each other was written well. Their chemistry was good and I believed in them as a couple. Their story made me smile and I liked the happy memories the Morrison Ranch gave Emma and the respect that Trent had for the history of the place and the people who came before him. I am looking forward to reading what happens between Sarah and Cole next.

An exciting read as Emma and Trent head up the mountain to the Morrison Ranch for her to show him the place for her brother a real estate agent. But an early snow storm came in faster and worse than original broadcasted, so they ended up snowed in for a few days. There was a little more than snow in the air with Emma and Trent finding a smitten of love in the air too.
