Xherdan Chantal is an artist still trying to find his place among the masters of color. He’s a rather independent soul, working at the New York Metropolitan Museum, who lends no time to pretending to be anything he’s not or be involved in anyway other than to stimulate his muse.
However, when a local pole dancer sneaks a shoulder-mount-to-flying-half-flag maneuver into his life, managing to seduce far more than Xherdan’s muse, he’s not sure how to put it all into perspective. Then again, painting is Xherdan’s artistic magic, not words. So, while poetic prose may have failed him, he still enjoys exploring this new sensation with loyal attention that sets Sreven above the rest of the world that’s only purpose is to feed his muse. What Xherdan was never expecting was for Sreven to become the living breath and motion of his muse.
But there’s just one fight a lover should never pick with an artist.

Both Proud Indy Authors: Tarian like his twin, Talon, love to torment their editor with a nefarious world of foreign-language, slang, local dialect, stretched/outside-of-the-box definitions, and have even been known to throw in some new word creations of their own at times. This, of course, is all thrown in there with the dyslexia soup stock they both suffer from that makes editing for them a joy {joy: n. see mental illness}. However, the final product comes out as richly detailed as we believe all stories should be created: holographic worlds of love, pain, frustration, and challenges beyond the every day. We believe a good story should take you on an emotional ride, pluck your heart strings, and zing you about until you’re dizzy and screaming at the antagonist, while cheering for the protagonist before returning you to your cozy reading spot. And we’ve created these adventures within a mix of genres, so you can find the one right for you: Gay & Het Romances, Suspense, Paranormal and Sci-fi Erotic Romances, War-time Romance Fictions, along with Talon’s favorite Space Sci-Fi Frontiers, and Tarian’s favorite works of Post-Apocalyptic Dark Fantasies and Historical Fantasies. All for readers to submerse themselves into and escape from their day when they need or desire, and to whet your appetite for more.
4.5 STARS ARC copy provided by author for an honest review. Review by Jaycee.
I have been waiting for this book and watching the promotional pieces as they have been published; all rich colour and texture and promise…and the story delivers the same. Not in the literal sense, but in the layers and nuances of how the story unfolds.
Xherdan Chantal appears at first, to be an arrogant and maybe somewhat narcissistic ass. He is the kind of person I wouldn't give any consideration in real life, yet as the layers of onion are peeled off the complex and really quite strong core is revealed. He has been hurt by those who should have been his support..and yah, yah we’ve heard it before. We just haven’t heard it delivered to this particular tune. While Xherdan was affected by such treatment and while he may have hid behind his Muse as a matter of personal convenience, it did not stop him, nor as we come to see, did it change the fundamental man. And that true core came to manifest itself in a man I’d call “friend”, any day. Essential story element number one: depth of character. Check.
The unique thing about the story, as it is told from Xherdan’s POV, is exactly how that POV flowed…like paint and painter, revealing itself through sometimes subtle, almost abstract lines and at times with bold, brilliant strokes. In the beginning of the book it was somewhat difficult to understand that, Xherdan’s narrative seeming a bit…schizophrenic at times. But it really isn’t, its wholly fascinating and perfectly understandable in context, when you realize its a recounting as experienced by the artist and told as an artist would tell it. Essential story element number two: a compelling world. Check.
Sreven Maque is also a creative man, who outwardly is a little less hesitant to be authentic, but who has also been treated as less than he is by virtue of the suppositions of the masses. It was a pleasure to read these two through the development of their relationship, because without any major drama, affect or angst, they gelled without even realizing it themselves. Their twosome was authentic by virtue of its supportive nature, each initially getting what they thought they needed out of it by unknowingly being the strength of the other. Essential story element number three: relationship. Check.
Essential story element number four: HEA. While arrived at in a manner I first found a bit precipitous, a re-read of the finale basically revealed what the true artist knows: when the work is finished, put down the brush. There is no control over the subjective nature of the art, and what the audience “gets” will vary, but therein lies the beauty.
A truly beautiful portrait, and worthy of all its colours.
I must say that this book kept my interest from beginning to end I freaking loved it. This is also my first book by Princess so. Her characters was amazing and different than most with very interesting names. We have a talent artist and his muse with hot hot scenes and an amazing love what esle could you ask for. Overall an amazing thanks for giving me the chances to read it I loved it.
Loved this book! If you like hot M/M stories with a touch of stellar sex and the cycnical hero who has to be won over, this is a winner. Inter play between Xherdan and Sreven is very passionate and keeps you page turning.
I definitely recommend and will be reading more of Princess S.O.
I sometimes wonder if I am beginning to sound like a broken record when I say I love these books from Author Tarian P.S. but it’s hard to get around that because she never fails at delivering some incredibly evolved characters. From broken soldiers just trying to get through the war, to mature Bears trying to keep family together, or survivors of a long ago holocaust. This time it’s a snobby painter that finds most relationships frivolous and he doesn't waste his time with them.
It’s not the first time a blurb has said such and such character isn't looking to get hooked up and then right there on page one he meets someone and its love at first sight. Ruins the entire pretense of the story. It didn't happen here.
Xherdan has found a local dancer that stirs his muse for his paintings, but he also hints that maybe, just perhaps, his interest has the potential of going deeper. He just doesn't see it because, for him, while guys are looking him up and down as a meal, he’s looking them up and down only for the purpose of his next painting. The lines never blur. That is until he invites Sreven to come pose for him. In a rather erotic display to define how Xherdan sees the world, the two find themselves in a hot romp on a fallen canvas then go tumbling into a relationship that has no announced title.
What I liked most about the book was its separation from the common erotic romance, and Princess' ability to break stereotypes. While both Xherdan and Sreven are artists, neither are the typical queer personality given to these types of professions. Though she does give the readers Dimitri Charming, who is, to fill out the playing field as a contrast. Another characteristic I enjoyed was that Xherdan is far from perfect and to some comes off rather strong. (the ass-ism as he described himself). Yes, he is an ass, but it’s more of a 'don't waste my time with dumb shit' kind of ass-ism, rather than just being an all-out ass-hole. As the story progresses, we discover our anti-hero isn't an ass to everyone. There is always that one sneaky character who manages to get past the shields.
Now for the overall author’s voice in this: It’s very potent, like strong coffee with a shot of Baileys. It flows really well, but bear in mind it reads more poetically than it does as a campfire read. And since it is written in first person it derives from Xherdan’s slightly stuck up personality to the fullest, never getting watered down, not even for the sake of winning over the readers who might be put off by him at first. You either love him or you don’t. I loved him, then again, I’m an ass myself, so I guess I had a soft spot for the guy.
FAVORITE SPOT #1: Have I mentioned that somewhere in all that sexy aphrodisiac body candy sitting on top of me, there is the ability to look completely boyish and naive? Probably not, because until now I had never seen it, but as his face scrunched up with the vexed thoughts over solving the puzzle of my life and character, it was absolutely adorable. But brief. It was gone when his hand produced the very item he had originally gone searching for. A single square foil containing the object required for our continued romp, should we ever get back on that ravishing ride.
FAVORITE SPOT #2: “I’ve just witnessed a whole new side of you in those last thirty or forty minutes. I liked him.” “Tell anyone and they’ll never find your body.” I half joked. “Hmmm, can I put in a last request then?” I turned my head to meet his gaze. Sreven’s chin rested on the back of my shoulder while he looked up at me playfully, then wrapped his arms around me. “I suppose I could consider one.” “I want my final resting place to be stashed in your bed.” “I might be able to arrange that.”
Wow! First off I have to tell you the next time you encounter an ass, take a second look. Yes I know this story is fiction but Tarian P.S. did such a wonderful job with his character development that *sighs* this story, Muse Me Only, will add one or two more fantasies/day dreams to your list. *wink*
I love how this story is told. Xherdan Chantal is an artist, a painter; he also works at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art. We get to experience this story, his story, through his eyes. We get to know what he is thinking and feeling as the story unfolds. Which I think is an added bonus especially if you like to get into the heads and hearts of your characters.
I love Xherdan; yes he is a self-centered, eccentric, artist who is also an ass. I guess because I have a lot of asses in my life he became my favorite to start with. In his mind everything is so simple and if everyone just fell in line with his way of thinking there would be no drama to distract us from our goals.
Xherdan’s most important goal is the care and feeding of his muse. After all he is an artist and what could be more important than his muse. When he enters the Corona Club he finds a full course meal for his muse. As he watches Sreven Maque perform on stage his muse is enthralled. Srevens body and the way he moves transforms into brush strokes of vivid color. Here is where being in Xherdans head combined with Tarian P.S. way with words paint the beginning of a beautiful work of art.
I think most readers will fall in love with Sreven first because he is the perfect man. He is open, honest, smart, sexy and full of life. Getting to know him through Xherdans eyes, heart and soul was so much fun. It also shows us how sometimes you don’t have the full story. Relationships take time and communication to work. It isn’t only the ass in the relationship that has history that affects their feelings and actions.
Tarian P.S. does with words and paper what Sreven does with his body and music as well as what Xherdan does with paint and a canvas. He created an artistic masterpiece that I will feast my mind and heart on more than once.
Don’t forget to continue flipping the pages at the end of the story. Tarian P.S. has left us a special treat in the back of the book. *grins* he always leaves us a little something from our beloved characters!
This is a new author for me and the blurb had me so very intrigued. I loved the idea of an artist falling for a dancer and the dancer becoming his muse.
Xherdan Chantal is this really talented artist who is his own words is an ASS. I love how he has these ass-isms that he throws about. Xherdan does have asshole-ish tendencies, however, he’s also so very in tuned with art. He’s got this really good heart that he hides behind so much wit and sarcastic remarks. Xherdan has some issues with his family as he hasn’t spoken to them in 10 years. I like that Xherdan has always believed him himself and his muse.
Sreven Maque is the pole dancer who has aspirations that are bigger than just dancing in the bar. Sreven is this young man who is just so very talented and he wants to be loved for who he is, not what he looks like and how he moves his body. Sreven is just this great guy who is a bit battle hardened from his experiences. Sreven finds this wonderful guy who he just seems to fall for. They fit so well that Sreven just can’t believe the ease of it all.
This story was at first so odd to me. It took me a bit to get into the POV of Xherdan. The way his thought process worked and to be able to really get into his head. Once that was all good in my head, the pace and flow of the story went smoothly. There were references of professional dance terms that threw me and I had to re-read the sentence to kinda figure out what was meant. I even looked up some of the terms on Google to really get the feel of what the author was trying to portray. That being said, that part took me out of the story a bit, and then I had to work my way back into the correct frame of mind.
There was one real secondary character in my opinion and that was Dimitri. He worked with Xherdan at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Dimitri was the friend/little brother/colleague that helped Xhredan. They had this wonderful rapport that just flowed. I really liked how they got along with each other. The other characters came in and flowed out again without really causing any ripples. They were a part of the story, but the main focus was Sreven and Xherdan.
I have to say that I really liked our main characters. I liked how these two guys flowed so easily into a relationship. They were really good for each other. I liked that each character had the chance to grow not only as a couple, but as individuals. They both had to see that not only were they worthy on their own, but they were worth fighting for as a couple.
I will say that I liked how Xherdan’s Muse is almost a living thing. For him is and I liked that he treated it as such. I liked that his Muse knew what it needed and it must have it’s way, but I love the way that they co-existed together. How they needed each other and it wasn’t one of those fight the Muse stories…the Muse is present, it just needs to be fed regularly.

I was given an ARC from the Author in exchange for my honest review. A Rich Explosion of color and feelings..... The cover of this book, Muse Me Only, seduced me immediately and made me want to jump right in and wallow around in the vividness of the love story between the two main characters, Xherdan (the artist) and Sreven (the from-the-heart performer masquerading as a pole dancer). Though I eventually realized that the first couple of chapters would come to represent the writer's actual style that would continue throughout the entire novel, I will admit to being slightly overwhelmed by the loquaciousness of the story at times. I was able to eventually settle into the tale, and though I read other reviews that portrayed Xherdan as narcissistic and unevolved, I could feel his lack of self-worth, stemming from his parents mistreatment and their unwillingness to even attempt to understand him. I fell in love with him and the feeling only went deeper, the longer I read. Sreven, though very talented as he attempted to be a serious dancer while wasting himself in a strip joint, was really a product of his surroundings, prone to emotional histrionics and lack of trust and was enriched by his association with Xherdan, though their relationship was fraught with underlying anxiety and misunderstandings. Both characters were rich with intelligence and the accompanying uncertainties that often plague those who exist on a different plane than those around them. Neither Xherdan nor Sreven really "fit" where they were in their lives and it was very interesting to watch them grow, both of their own accord and as a result of their interactions with one another. Dimitri Charming was the perfect counterpart to Xherdan, in that he was the exact opposite, both in style and personality. Therefore, it made them superb companions, in that they both were completely devoted to the friendship they had with each other. They were both intensely loyal as well, which only made them both more irresistible to me. This book was certainly a sweet love story of cinematic proportions and as I read it, I would see it playing out on a stage in a theater somewhere to a packed audience. Princess S.O. did a great job bringing me into their world and leaving me with a canvas colored with copious amounts of "feel-good".
Xherdan Chantal is an artist still trying to find his place among the masters of color. He’s a rather independent soul, working at the New York Metropolitan Museum, who lends no time to pretending to be anything he’s not or be involved in anyway other than to stimulate his muse.

Truthfully, I had a hard time getting through the first 2 chapters of this book. It is artfully written. The authors loquacious use of words had my eyes crossing sometime. If one reads it like poetry it is easier to understand. Once the story got started in earnest, I found it easier to read. THe font change, to let us know when the characters are talking or thinking to themselves, was interesting. If one has insight into the art/dance world you will have an advantage in reading the technical aspects of the book. The whole boy meets boy, boy loses boy, boy and boy realize they screwed up and actually do love each other, was well done. Those that enjoy the M/M genre will enjoy this offering from Princess S.O. I read it in one sitting and wanted more by the end. The bonus at the end of was very cool.
I was gifted this ebook in exchange for an honest review.

Met Princess S.O though Facebook and was offered a chance to read her latest book. I have to say I am FLOORED! Got this book tonight and polished it off in just a few short hours of private time. I am SO glad my husband was busy in the other room so i was left alone! i totally loved this book. While reading i laughed really loud a few times and my hubby yelled from our living room asking me what was so funny.
Xherdan & Sreven totally came to life within minutes of meeting them. Amazing flow of the book from start to finish. My only complaint is it ended to soon for me! I want to hear more from these to passionate men. Now i am wondering if this could become a series? I really want to hear Dimitri's story.
Love the artwork at the end of the book. I would love to see even more of it. Just the description of Xherdan's art made me so curious to see it in person, and i was pleasantly surprised to see a few peeks in this book!
Fantastic read, and i did not stop once i got started.
When someone shows you who they are, believe them, because actions mean a lot more than words. Xherdan says, on many occasions, that's he's an ass, but as the book unfolds, it becomes clear that there are reasons behind that statement and events that will pull that side out of him. I loved the way art was addressed throughout the book, who and what a muse is, and what it means to each individual. The merging of music, dance, and painting was a visual symphony that drew me in and wrapped me in their world. if there was one important lesson to take away from this read, it was that learning to see people as individuals and not look at them with glasses colored by previous experiences is paramount to cultivating a healthy relationship. Zherdan was like fire, drawing moths to him, burning those who tried to contain the flames,, unique, passionate, he truly is an enigma and this was a positively enjoyable book.
Xherdan is a painter who defines himself as…well I can't really swear….a BUTT! He loves his painting and his art work. However he is always missing something. His Muse. He needs to find it and the only place that he seems to be able to find something to Muse him only is a strip club.
Sreven is a stripper at the club Xherdan visits often. Will he be the one muse that will make Xherdan settle down? Or will he just be another notch on Xherdan’s muse belt?
This book has a lot of imagery, a lot of details of colors, paints, strip club moves and lots of hot sex. I’m not an artist so half the time I felt kind of lost with all the colors and terms. However if you are an artist, or love colors the pictures that were trying to be described were wonderful. This is a MM romance, and it was really hot! I would give it 4 stars. The romance was what kept me into the book.
I was given this book as a arc in return for my honest opinion
We meet artist Xherdan Chantal who is very independent person. Who is trying to find his way.
He meets pole dancer Sreven, sparks soon fly between the 2 when they get together. If you enjoy reading m/m books I can highly recommend this book as not only is it red hot but it is a brilliant story and nice easy read.
Lush, passionate, sexy, hot.....these are just a few of the words that come to mind after reading this fantastic book by Princess S.O. We get a fascinating glimpse into the mind of Xherdan Chantal, an artist still trying to find his place in the world. It takes meeting exotic dancer Sreven Macque to shake Xherdan's life up, and make him realize there's more to life than what exists on his canvas.
I almost stopped reading just because the first chapters were a little strange? But I kept going based off another reviewer who said it got better after the first few chapters and it absolutely does, maybe around 15% in. Definitely give the book a chance if it doesn't grip you right away it ends up being very worth it :)
This book was hauntingly good - so much so that I checked in with Tarian to see if it was one that he had started with his brother. The imagery was brilliant and the story compelling.
