This trilogy really didn’t need to be a trilogy and it suffered for it. Could have been a lot more enjoyable had it been tightened up, lost some of the angst, and combined into one book. Sigh.😔

Another seamless transition coming in from book 2. And a lovely send-off for this cast of characters, but I would be lying if I didn't say I'm glad it's over.

This book struggled in a similar way to book 2: the same situations and arguments repeated 2-3 times before finally reaching the end. I also think Benji started to grate on my nerves a bit by the end. I really liked his brattiness in book one; in book two, I waned a bit. In this one, it just felt overdone and a bit childish.

I was glad we got to bond with Max a bit more in this one, but I swear you could've taken him out of the story with minimal impact. I also agree with the general consensus that this whole trilogy probably could've been one book or a duet. But since I got to enjoy them after the series was already complete, I'm not gonna hold it against the book too much.

Dillion's continued involvement felt unnecessary, and while I don't think he deserves a "happy" ending but I also think the way his character was handled was dumb. Michael was basically the cause of all the major conflicts in this series... and was the main mastermind behind Chet and Dillion... yet he somehow got to be in the hero role at the end while they're forced to apologize to Benji? Make it make sense.

Alas, I was still entertained. This trilogy is short compared to other similar series, so I do think it's worth the read. Just temper your expectations for how much action actually takes place. But what it lacks in plot is definitely made up for in smut, so that may be worth it enough for some people.

Melted Candy concludes Benji and Noah's sugar baby romance. It was sweet and spicy, continuing to address Benji's ongoing insecurities about being with Noah for the long haul. This final installment was a little shorter than the other 2 books, it addressed the last cliffhanger from Salted Candy pretty fast along the other issues involving Noah's brother. The drama was there but I felt like it didn't hit as hard (not that the first two books were very angsty at all but this last one just felt lighter). Overall a cute, spicy HEA, just wish it lasted a little longer or dived a little deeper.

This is just like the Vanilla Baby trilogy by Jett Masterson. I mean, I knew it—that’s why I read it. I thought it would feel like re-reading it without actually re-reading it, you know what I mean?

I loved Max and Benji’s dynamic.
I loved Noah’s sense of humor.
I didn’t love the best friends—Daph and Tia were just… meh.
I hated Michael and Dillon, and not because they were the villains, but because they were so lame and made no sense.
.... Chet.......really???

If you want sugar-baby vibes, go read Vanilla Baby. Aaaaand it’s an omegaverse 😉

I enjoyed this final installment, but continue to stand by the fact this probably would have worked better all as one book rather than a trilogy. It was one overarching story, and all of them were fairly short. Since I got to read them all in a row anyway it didn’t particularly matter for my experience, but was probably pretty frustrating for people when they had to wait for the next release.

I still love all the main characters in these books. I did wish we could have got a bit of a deeper relationship between Max and Benji. Max was around more in this book which was nice, but I would have liked for him and Benji to have had some more serious conversations. Especially with everything that was happening in this book. I understand that would be hard for Benji, but it felt necessary and would have been good for character and relationship development.

I enjoyed the book quite a bit despite this though. I was very happy when Benji decided to let himself believe good things could happen and to let himself have what he wanted even if it did end someday. I also loved how Max and Noah’s relationship developed. They were very sweet and it was nice to see Max get some more stability.

I did enjoy this installment the least of the series, but I was smiling like wild by the time I finished it.

Not happy! Just not!

Again, yes, the bedroom stuff was hot. I do appreciate that.
However, Noah allowed his brother to go way too far with how he tried to interfere with Benji and with that Noah fell woefully short of his job of "taking care of Benji". I was insensed about it. And putting a lot of effort into building a relationship with Benji's brother instead of protecting Benji did not make up for that. Toss in the total confusion about art - the readers still don't know what paints Benji is actually using nor why he is using canvass with a medium that needs to go behind glass.
I felt the book just dragged on.
Then right at the end Noah goes and gives his brother another chance to redeem himself by essentially kidnapping Benji's dad and that guy who gave him trouble and made them kneel and ask for forgiveness as a wedding gift for Benji? WTF???
That was just awful and out of character, and not what Benji would have wanted, and annoyed me so much I took another star off.
1 star only for this end piece of too long a book that was sold to the readers as a trilogy and really didn't deserve to make three times the money the book was worth.

kindle: 3.5⭐️ the longer this went on the less impressed by it i was, but……i still read it all in one sitting so it clearly isn’t much of a complaint. somehow the ending felt rushed even though this trilogy was basically one big too-long novel. idk. tempted to round to four because on one hand i feel like it deserves it but on the other hand I feel like this would’ve been better if it was edited into a better version of itself that was a single book instead of a trilogy
