Maza vilšanās jau pašā ievadā, kur minēts, ka grāmatas autore nav nedz ārste, nedz uztura speciāliste.
Lai arī daudz kas bija zināms, guvu arī noderīgas un vērtīgas zināšanas, kas, cerams, palīdzēs mazināt milzīgo cukura atkarību :)

iespējams, ka tiešām
cukurs ir daudz
stiprāka narkotika
par visām citām lietām, kas tā
patiesi varētu būt -

kādreiz cukurs bija luksus prece, ko atļāvās lietot tikai bagātie ļaudis, bet nu tagad cukurs ir visur visur visur visur visur VISUR -
un mērķis nodzīvot dienu zem 6 tējkarotēm cukura (ap 25-30 grami dienā) - ir nereālāks mērķis mūsdienu sabiedrībā par saņemšanos sešos no rīta skriet...

aizdomājos, ka tieši cukurs gan jau ir vaininieks pie manas enerģijas milzīgā zuduma, jo tā jau īsti vairāk nezinu, kas būtu pie vainas - vai nu ne tikai vienīgi šis “jaukais” draugs!

no šodienas sāku atturēties -
tad jau redzēs, kā būs

pēc atsauksmēm vajadzētu atjaunoties enerģijai, kļūt saldākam miedziņam un izdzīvot dienu daudz jaukāk -
cerēšu, ka tā arī būs!

Ļoti ātri izlasāma grāmata, no kuras katrs var sev paņemt sev noderīgo. Daudzas lietas jau bija zināmas, bet viennozīmīgi varēja iemācīties arī ko jaunu. Ļoti patika, ka grāmatā tika ievietotas arī konkrētas receptes un ieteikumi ar produktiem, kādi ir jāizmanto veidojot ikdienas uztura plānu.

Katherine Bassford was a personal trainer for over 10 years and this shows throughout her writing. Oh Sugar! is backed up with scientific research that implements mindfullness which engages the reader in several new areas that can help you curb your sugar intake.

I really enjoyed the passion Katherine has for living a well balanced lifestyle. I now have learnt a lot about meal times, mindful eating, reading labels and exercise. This book is life changing indeed. I will be now passing it onto family and friends as it will definitely open their eyes. If I were a teacher at a school I could see myself recommending this to teenagers as well. It's amazing how compact the read is at only 172 pages. I can't stop thinking about Oh Sugar! I am reading to make changes.

An informative read about the sugar and how our consumption of it in all its forms is to the detriment of our health. This book explains why and how the consumption of sugary foods is addictive and plays a part in so many health issues. It also gives some great advice on how to start eliminating sugar from our diets and break the cycle of sugar addiction and regain better health. A must read for anyone still undecided about the negative costs sugar is having on all of us. Väga hea ülevaatlik ja kiiresti loetav raamat suhkru mõjudest ja suhkrusõltuvusega võitlemisest. Kui oled vähegi uuema toitumisalase kirjandusega kursis, siis midagi väga üllatavat raamatus pole. Küll aga on head näpunäited kohe oma elu paremaks muutmiseks ja suhkrukoguste vähendamise lihtsustamiseks.

Ir lietderīgi apzināties, cik daudz mēs uzņemam, kādas ir sekas, kādos uztura avotos sastopams galvenais grāmatas varonis. Motivē ieviest reālas izmaiņas. Ne milzīgas, neesmu naivs, bet ir lietas, ko rodas vēlme uzreiz izskaust no ikdienas. Sāku ar košļenēm. Izlasīju Orbit sastāvu pirmoreiz dzīvē. Saldās augļu sulas ir nākamās rindā.

It kā jau viss grāmatā apkopotais ir zināms, bet ir vērts ik pa laikam to sev atgādināt. Patika autores padoms - lai izdotos, jāiet soli pa solim. Un pirmais solis jāizvēlas tik vienkāršs un drošs, lai izgāšanās nebūtu iespējama.

كتاب رائع فتّح عيوني عن اضرار السكر الابيض المكرر ، من بعد قرائتي لهذا الكتاب قطعت اسهلاكي للسكر الابيض + العصيرات خصوصاً الجاهزة المعلبة ، وصرت اعتمد على ملعقه عسل يوميا و ستيفيا فقط

Grāmatā nedaudz informācijas par cukura slikto ietekmi uz cilvēka veselību. Ievietotas arī receptes. Par grāmatu varu teikt, nekas īpašs.

Tā kā grāmata iznākusi pirms laika, daudzi "vēl nav pētījumu" vairs nav aktuāli. Bet vienalga bija atklājumi un atgādinājumi.

Man ļoti norezonēja šī grāmata (kuru pamanīju bibliotēkā nejauši!). Ja varētu - 10 zvaigznes :D Tā kā saldumu atkarība man ir aktuāla tēma, principā šīs grāmatas lasīšanas laikā sāku jaunu dzivi:) Pietiek ar dažām spilgām atmiņā palikošām frāzēm vai līdzībām, kas uzreiz liek aizdomāties, ko / kad un kāpēc liec mutē.

This book provides information on why and how to reduce the amount of sugar in your diet.

There were some good points in this book but it lacked depth – the advice is basically ditch the junk / highly processed food, get some sleep and exercise. The focus on fruit as containing significant amounts of sugar seemed disingenuous - a 58g chocolate snack bar has 260 calories and 35g of sugar, a 158g apple has 95 calories and 19g of sugar (according to Wikipedia).

This is an eye opener if I ever seen one. When you finish this you'll decrease your sugar load for sure...
Insane how much sugar we eat!
No excessively long intros with science blabber. Straight to the point!

Concise and to-the-point.
Excellent advice, without labouring points. I will be taking up some of it.
The recipes look good and very usable, although I haven't tried any yet.

Much less pseudoscience than I expected, honestly. Some good, simple, common sense advice with reasonable evidence to back it up. Some things may not be entirely on point, but nutrition advice goes so far in so many extreme directions that this seems quite measured in comparison to others.
