When the world crashes down around your ears, sometimes all you can do is punt and hope for the best. That’s exactly what James and Micah decide to do when one of them is diagnosed with cancer, and the other discovers a serious heart defect. When the doctor tells them to start working on their bucket lists, the two take a trip in an effort to create some good memories, and forget the ugly truths, while they focus on their time in each other’s arms.

Their vacation turns into much more than they anticipated when they find themselves drawn to a club like sailors to a siren. Several sexy waiters, some unforgettable lap dances, and one whip-wielding stud later, they stumble upon the answer to their prayers. Their sex is wild again, and the pair find themselves living for tomorrow. But with every answer comes questions, and Micah’s search for more may destroy them both.

Will they be able to recover from his thirst for the truth? Or will the men always live walking on the edge of a Razor?

3.5 stars bumped to 4 because there was Felching!!! And I don't come across that nearly as much as I'd like too!
I grabbed this book because I was told it was kind of bazaar. Well bazaar was what I was in the mood for and this one did deliver.

This was pretty much PWP. I think there was a plot line that tried to come thru but just didn't quite make it shown and i'm ok with that. I did really like Micah & James and I enjoyed seeing the playful side of them as well as the down n dirty cheesy side.

If you're looking for something quick, fun, hot and bazaar...grab this up! You'll have fun with it, i'm sure!

This story is just one big wow! However, you are probably going to need your tissues on hand. We go on a roller coaster of life threatening illness, miracles (healing powers of cum??) and lots of steamy sex.

This is part of a series of books (Beyond Fairytales) which adapt fairytales of the Grimm brothers. Razor is based on the Little People’s Gift. Little People are essentially the faeries/elves of fairy ring mythology. The story is basically two poor, weary travellers are lured in by music to a group of fairies/elves. However, reading the interesting twist put on the tale by Jon Keys, I can’t help but think of the song Hotel California (at first I had the Foo Fighters song Razor in my head).

This is about married couple Micah and James. Their world is crashing down and instead of coal in their pockets (like in the fairy tale) they have life threatening diseases to contend with. The topic of basically being told you have a few months to live is a touchy one for some readers, but here it kind of works as a sort of fairy tale to embrace life because you don’t know how much time you have, much like the original was a fairy tale telling people don’t be greedy and don’t alienate your friends because they help when times are tough.

Although thinking about it, I don’t think this story would have such a positive impact if you’re not aware of the material it’s adapted from. It’s a very short story (maybe a page), so just Google it. Grimm's Fairytales "Gift's from the Little People"

Writing a review for this is a small challenge– this is a novella that nearly slipped through our reviewer net. I’m not a great fan of novellas, which is why I — personally — hadn’t considered this on release. However, I do like the idea of adapting fairy-tales for the modern age, so I’m glad I read it, and the length is correct for this tale. There is a lot to like about this contemporary tale, and I suppose if there is a moral it would be be happy with what you’ve been given – The tale concerns a happy, loving married couple, James and Micah, and at the tender age of thirty-five they discover Micah has terminal cancer.

I started reading this short story with no idea it is an erotic tale. I was reading with quite a lump in my throat — for personal reasons — and expected a sad read, anyway I learned quite speedily that there is a strong erotic element. The definition of erotic is very flexible, and for this reader just having a lot of sex is not it. There are a couple of truly hot and erotic sections, and the story is well constructed and thought out. A very contemporary idea — with some juicy questions left unanswered. I have one point I really would like to discuss, but I can’t or I will give too much away. :)

There were a few times when who is talking to whom, is a bit confusing, but not too distracting. Overall, an original take on an old tale. I like Jon Keys style of writing, maybe some editing issues but nothing too major. I want to go and read the Grimm’s original tale now and see how the author adapted it.

What an intense, gorgeous story. On the surface, it starts out with a tone that's both sad (both Micah and James are facing terminal illness) yet almost light-hearted as they look for a way to make the most of their remaining time together. What follows is both sensual and deep, though the story retains its sense of playfulness.
I can't say too much without giving spoilers, but this is an absolutely marvelous story. Though the situation has magical elements, the range of emotions is realistic. Even in such a short space, we see just how deeply these men love each other. I particularly liked the way their sexual give-and-take mirrored the other aspects of their relationship and how that fit together so well with the fantasty.

As for the sex...let's just say that if you like a lot of intense heat, this is a story for you. For me, what made it even hotter was that it was graphic but realistic--nothing that had an over-the-top, bad-porn feel to it at all. Their encounters ranged from desperate to tender to humor, sometimes almost at the same time. Beautifully written.

5 stars (wish I could give it more!)

I originally gave this book 2 stars. I would only give it 1 star now.

I didn't like this book at all I found it very weird and strange. I do not like fairytales in any form but I thought I would give it a go. What I got was a mixed up short story that seemed to have no point at all. Even the sex didn't fit well with me.
I reread it because I was sure I had missed the whole point to the story I also made sure I read the fairytale the book is very loosely based on before the reread. No I didn't miss anything if anything it was much worse the second time around.
Sorry I can't recommend unless you like books that's bazaar. This one truly is.

*This book was provided to me by the author/publisher via Decadent Publishing in exchange for an honest review*

I honestly wasn't sure what I was getting myself in for when I picked up this book. I was braced for a tear fest. These two men, Micah and James are both sentenced to death. Micah by Cancer and James by Heart disease. Instead of sitting at home they decide to live out their lives with as much fun as they can in the time they have left before the final curtain drops and the stage goes dark. Taking a week long vacation in paradise is just what they need.

There isn't a lot I can say about this book and not gives things away, so all I will say is crack it open an be ready for a wild and scorching hot ride! Micah and James will smoke up the pages of your ereader with the love and chemistry they have, and the hot sex they share!

This is a short, quick, well written and well paced book. It's sweet, sexy, and hot as all get out!!!

what was the point???

and before you ask, I have even read the fairytale "The Little Folk" and tho short there was a point, don't be greedy - or reach for more, right, which I even understood while READING this book, but the thing is, with this story... he reached and still got everything in the end

so again, I ask, what was the point??

I found I would have enjoyed it more had the whole "the little folk" point not been there, that just confused me and made me wonder ... well I've said, above. Had it just been about two men reconnecting, or one last shebang, maybe, but the time line was weird, and they seemed to jump cities from one chapter to the other, which took me away from the story as I try to understand why I was back there when I should have been home...
