Can’t even read a Lucy Lennox book anymore without tripping over OM action. 😞😞😞😞😞😞
DNF 20% after OM BJ. And it’s after the MCs kiss in the present. Followed by tons of OM drama and Wolfe checking out his options, for angst. 😞
Oh, all you mature sex positive non triggery readers will love it. So healthy and realistic. Honestly, it serves the other MC, Trace, right. Even I can see that. He's a hypocrite-liar who claimed he’d never date anyone as much younger than him as Wolfe is, and then did (Patrick, who confronts him and he kisses goodbye just hours before an incendiary "kiss-off" with Wolfe). Trace is already weak as a hero.
But. The rando sex was gratuitous and disappointing, for me. Romance killed dead in the desert campground. No need for the mention and then play by play at all. Added nothing to plot and detracted from the pining. And I never in a zillion years expected this author to rake me in the face like that with no warning. Which made it so much worse. Is this the bookpocalypse?! 😂🤣😭
Need to find old-school throwbacks who get it. Sigh.

This was not what I was expecting but I enjoyed it so much!
Wolfe is such a sensitive dude and he overthinks everything until he basically traps himself because he's afraid of disappointing anyone. His years long crush / feelings for Trace was kinda creepy when you think about how young he was when it started and when they kept talking about him as a young teen when they were having sex... but outside of those few instances I really liked them together.
Trace is so stubborn but it was kind of funny to see him realise how he actually felt. I did feel he was a little pushy in trying to get Wolfe to open up about his secret, but he also protected that secret fiercely even when he hadn't been told by Wolfe. The scene with him telling Jude and Derek about his feelings for Wolfe was so cute too - typical Jude being all emotional about it! The reveal of Wolfe's alter ego was also really funny when it came to Derek and Jude's reactions.
I loved the support from JJ and Gabe too. I know Gabe's book is up next, which I'm looking forward to, but I'm really hoping JJ will get a book too because I'm so curious and I never want the Marian's to end! I'm also curious about Rosie and what her real concerns about Trace and Wolfe were because they were just brushed over really quickly.

This was fine?
Perhaps I needed to read the other books in this series, though I think this is marketed as being able to be read as a standalone. The problem with books like this is that they have so many characters in the series from previous books, that a lot of of the time it just becomes character name after character name after character name and it’s so bloated and confusing. There were so many freaking characters in this book, and not a single one had a distinguished personality, besides maybe Wolfe’s Papa, Jude. Otherwise, it felt like every character bled into one another.
I found myself very bored while reading this book. Wolfe and Trace spend quite a bit of this book apart from one another, and when they are together, it’s so lackluster. I didn’t get any sort of chemistry between them, and even in the sections when they’re apart from one another, there’s no true angst or tension or anything even remotely interesting.
There’s also so much telling and not showing. I felt like I was getting told and spoonfed all of this information and getting name drops from all these characters that I didn’t know anything about, and instead of being able to feel it firsthand while reading it, I’m just getting told about how in love they are and aspects of their personality. There were so many times in this book where the prose would say something like: “And then we talked about how this happened, and what it felt like when that happened”, instead of actually reading about the conversation!
I don’t want to be told the conversation, I want to read the conversation! I thought that Wolfe and Trace were both kind of boring, and didn’t really have much of a personality, and when it came to their romance/relationship, it was kind of a dud. I wish I had felt more of a connection to them, and I wish I cared about the romance, but I really didn’t.
In fact, the most interesting part of this book was the whole Jake subplot, and even then, I felt like the author could’ve gone into a much more interesting direction with it. Instead of making Jake this cheesy villain that they ended up turning him into, it would’ve been so much more interesting had he felt genuine remorse for what he did to Wolfe. He clearly was backed up between a rock and a hard place, and he felt like this was his only option. Obviously it wasn’t, and he’s not a good person for it, but it would’ve been so much more interesting to read about instead of him being this weird villain that kind of felt like it came out of nowhere!
Anyway, the writing itself was fine, and it wasn’t so boring or terrible that it didn’t hold my attention. I did start waning about 75% into this book, and it was starting to get to the point where I was considering not even finishing it, but I made it! I suppose if you want a very easy going, passionless romance, this might be for you. It just wasn’t for me

this one was, unfortunately, not my favourite lucy lennox book. I was already hesitant when I knew it was father's best friends and, even if the started when wolfe was 30, i felt weird reading about it, if i'm being honest, but i was not really connecting with neither the plot nor the characters, so this is sad, but 2 stars from me.

I love these books, really I do, but this was CRINGE. People will give it 5 stars, because they love the series. I’m not because I want the next one to better.
also these two have TERRIBLE communication even at the end. This could have been an AWESOME story about talented secret songwriter and a rough mountain rescuers growing together to face their troubles and instead in was a meandering clumsy wander couple of towns in western America where they just stare at each other from their tents until Wolfe gets outed by a cartoon villain. At the end Wolfe is no more equipped to handle fame than before and Trace’s commitment issues are magically gone and I kind of feel their relationship is going to fall apart in a year.
1. Wolfe and Trace are sooooo destined to be together everyone is taking bets on it but they haven’t actually really talked or been in the same state in SIX years- it makes no sense.
2. Wolfe has been pining for six years while Trace is torturing himself that they can be together…. For reasons??? They explain it a little, but Trace is 35-41 in this timeline while Wolfe is 24 -30 like ok? You both love each other so badly you don’t talk for six years? The second he sees him he kisses him.
3. Trace goes through all that to get Jake to sign an NDA and doesn’t tell Wolfe thus Wolfe reveals himself as famous because he feels forced into it. So what was the point of it. Their communication is barely there and when it is via post it notes.
3. Jake turned into a cartoon villain , and you know what I feel bad for him. Yea he a did a horrible thing, but he was abandoned by his parents, raising a younger sister, about to lose their only source of income and just wanted better for his sister. The drugging was so out of character for him it was almost temporary insanity. Where did he get the drugs last minute?
I found it hard to enjoy the love story with the desperation of the reality of being poor, stuck in a small town, with nothing lingering in background of these rich stars story, Jake did a horrible out of character thing … even then he didn’t simply ask for money, he just asked for a chance for his sister and then what…. Left Wolfe to die? None of it made sense. It’s tragically stupid.

I went into Tracking Wolfe with high expectations, but there was a point early on where I genuinely thought this might end up being one of my favourite Lucy Lennox books in a while.
I absolutely loved the history between Wolfe and Trace. Wolfe has been harbouring a crush on Trace for years, while Trace has spent the past few firmly placing Wolfe in the off-limits category. The age gap, family connection, years of friendship, and Trace's determination to keep his distance created so much tension between them, and I loved watching their relationship finally begin to shift into something more.
As always, Lucy also delivered on the family dynamics and interconnected world that make her books so fun to read. There were plenty of appearances and little references to characters from previous books and series, and I loved seeing Wolfe's relationship with Derek and Jude now that he's an adult -- what do you mean these men are old enough to have ADULT-aged children 😭 There was also that signature flair for the dramatic that somehow works so well in these books!
My only real complaint was the involvement of other people when Wolfe was trying to get over Trace. I completely understood why it was happening within the story, but personally, once I know who the main couple is, I don't particularly enjoy reading about one of them hooking up with, kissing, or contemplating a relationship with somebody else. It took away some of my enjoyment during that portion of the book, especially because I'd been loving Wolfe and Trace's story so much beforehand.
That being said, I still had such a good time with this book. I loved Wolfe and Trace together, loved getting another story within the wider Marian/Wilde universe, and I'm already ridiculously excited for the next book!
In summary:

Nobody does slow burns so deliciously as Lucy Lennox. Hands down, that woman has such a magic touch when it comes to writing slow burns that you don’t even feel them.
I have loved the Made Marian series since I first stumbled upon it and I couldn’t be happier to have the second generation of Marians as a separate series. Every single book in the Made Marian Legacy has been a masterpiece.
Jumping Jude was one of my favorite stories in the series. Ok, fine. They’re ALL my favorites but I have a weakness for bodyguards and celebrities stories and Jumping Jude was outstanding! So to have one of his sons have his own story was nothing short of a delight for me.
And to make it even better, we get an age gap! Another weakness of mine. Lucy wrote Trace and Wolfe’s love story so beautifully and respectfully. She handled Wolfe’s feelings for Trace with so much care, especially considering how young he was when he first started developing feelings for him. It never felt like grooming or was portrayed in a way that could be interpreted that way.
My poor Wolfie was so in love with Trace. He channeled those feelings into the most beautiful songs about yearning and longing as an outlet to express that love. Songs that nobody knew were written by him. He spent half of his life wishing he could have a chance with the most wonderful man he’s ever known and when he finally gets the courage to do something about it, things don’t go exactly as planned.
For Trace, being part of the Marian family is the most important thing. The Marians have been the family he wished he had and Jude and Derek like his brothers. Losing them would be devastating for him and something he’s not willing to do. So when he starts to see Wolfe differently than his best friends’s kid, he gets as far away from them as possible.
Keeping Wolfe at arms length was the safest decision for him but he didn’t take into consideration how that affected Wolfe. He never stopped to think that what Wolfe felt for him went beyond than just a crush. And when Trace confirms what he already suspected, he’s not strong enough to stop it. He knows getting involved with Wolfe isn’t wise. Not only is he too young, but he’s afraid of what would happen if they didn’t work out.
Wolfe gets a taste of what he’s dreamed of for so long, only to have it ripped away. Heartbroken, Wolfe embarks on a self reflection trip in hopes of getting over Trace. Unplugging from the world is the best way for him dealing with the fact that Trace would never be his. But you can’t hide from one of the best trackers in the world and the one that knows you best.
When Wolfe fails to check in, Trace sets out to find him and find him he did. It was supposed to stop there. A wellness check and then Trace would go back home. Instead, confessions were made and lines were crossed.
Trace finally comes to terms with his feelings for Wolfe. He can’t deny it anymore that he’s been in love with him for a while, and for the first time, his only priority is to make sure Wolfe is happy and safe. The rest of the world doesn’t matter.
For Wolfe, to finally have Trace reciprocate his feelings is the greatest thing that ever happened. No amount of awards can compare to having the man he’s love forever. Trace has always been there for him during the hardest times of his life, so when Wolfe finds himself in a dangerous situation, he knows that Trace will be there to find him.
Loving Wolfe is the best thing that ever happened to Trace and even knowing the risks of a fallout with the Marians, he’s not willing to let him go. Wolfe is his to love and protect and he would spend the rest of his life showing him. Wolfe thought he couldn’t have Trace, but Trace had always been his.

I seriously can’t get enough of this series! I loved the audio so much. Michael Dean once again delivered the perfect narration for Trace and Wolfe. He just makes every book even more amazing🥰
Ok, I’ll stop now😆 I just always have so much to say when it comes to Lucy’s books. I’m addicted to her work and I just can’t get enough 😅 I can’t wait for the next book!

I seriously can’t get enough of this series! I loved the audio so much. Michael Dean once again delivered the perfect narration for Trace and Wolfe. He just makes every book even more amazing🥰

Wolfe and Trace were two of the most stubborn men in this Made Marian legacy world. Wolfe in trying to prove how adult he was and Trace trying to not let his true feelings for Wolfe come to life. There seemed to be very little actual Marian family shenanigans in this book, but you still got to see some of the cousins as they helped out Wolfe and Trace through their journey to a happily ever after.

This was a huge letdown. I was so excited for this book and really looking forward to Wolfe’s story, and I’m bummed.
We less than a week with Wolfe and Trace and their developing relationship. They have a fight, where Trace tells Wolfe he’s not interested, Wolfe goes on a camping trip to find himself and 8 weeks late Trace finds Wolfe. From there we spend 3 days together before Wolfe gets kidnapped (a completely predictable plot line) a day once he’s rescued and then Wolfe leaves to go “home” and reveal his secret identity. A week where we’re supposed to believe Trace has completely moved on from being so worried about this relationship ruining his familial relationship with Jude and Derek, and with Wolfe totally forgiving Trace from disregarding his feelings for 10+ years. It was wayyy too fast.
There were also an uncomfortable number of mentions back to Trace being integral to Wolfe and his childhood. I don’t mind father’s friend tropes and age gaps don’t usually bother me but this was a bit much. Repeated stories about Trace being there when Wolfe was 8, 11, 16 and so on. Obviously important to the conflict of their relationship but strange to bring up over and over once they’re in a romantic relationship.
I’m so disappointed with how predictable the plot way and frankly what they did for Shay just feels like a reward for what Jake did. Yes he’s going to jail but when he gets out his sister will have a relationship with Wolfe and his family is Jake just going to slip in there too? She was said to not have much talent, a dime a dozen but now with her place at music school and her proximity to Wolfe and Jude I’d say it’s inevitable for her now.
I wanted more Wolfe and Trace, more than a week of togetherness, more than what was given.

I wanted to like this more, but ultimately, it was kind of a boring read. You could see the plot "twist" coming from a mile away and I just didn't buy the pining of Wolfe for Trace over the years. I mean, crush, sure, but to keep so much of his life a secret from both Trace and his family, who he is so close to? Just didn't work for me. Also, Wolfe is thirty, and his character was written like he was still a little kid. I typically like this author's books, so maybe just a misstep of a read for me.

I usually love the Made in Marian series but this one felt underdeveloped compared to the rest. Whilst yes, it was likely obvious Wolfe had a crush on his dad’s best friend growing up I still find it unrealistic they would just be fine with their relationship. This was delivered with little to no conversation towards the end of the book which I would’ve liked to have seen more from.

Emotional, heartwarming forbidden love romance!

For three books now, we've heard different things about Wolfe. Some have called him quiet and an old soul, and how he tends to keep to himself. But one thing that's always mentioned is his love for his dad's best friend, Trace. It's the worst kept secret among the Marian cousins and we finally get to dive headfirst into all that yearning and forbidden love in Tracking Wolfe.
"because you’re…” Precious. Important. Mine. I didn’t speak the words, but I thought them. Felt them."
After years of pining, when Wolfe finally broaches the topic of dating to Trace, he's shut down hard. It makes both of them run far away from each other. Six years later, they barely interact with each other but the love has only grown in their time apart. But after a totally secret professional win and a personal heartbreak, Wolfe disappears on a quest to figure out what he actually wants from life, and Trace finally finds the courage to chase after what he wants.
"He looked down at me with this… fond expression on his face that made me feel cared for in a way I hadn’t for a very long time."
Growing up in his superstar father's shadow, Wolfe has always been taken advantage of and compared with his dad, to the point where he decides to launch an anonymous music career to chase his dreams. But Trace doesn't see any of that. He's not here for the money or the fame. He sees Wolfe for exactly who he is and loves him so completely.
"His laughter filled my lungs like clean mountain air. Like everything I’d ever needed."
Trace has his own issues that he works through in this one. After being kicked out as a teenager, he found pure love and acceptance with the Marian clan and his loyalty to them is unmatched. When he falls for Wolfe, thinking he has to choose between family and his love for Wolfe scares him. But when it comes down to it, it's no competition at all because Wolfe makes him happier than he ever dreamed he'd be.
"I wanted to freeze time and watch him here in his element, in his comfort and happiness, in the safety of his anonymity, until he’d drunk his fill. Until he felt whole forever."
I also loved the journey of self discovery that Wolfe went on. Watching him find himself and learn that it's okay to let people in was so special. He's such a sweet soul who brightens the lives of everyone he touches so it made me so incredibly happy to see him get his HEA.
"Sometimes I just wanted to crawl beneath his skin and burrow right against his heart so we could move through the world together and never have to be apart."
I'll admit that initially I was concerned about these two because Trace was a big part of Wolfe growing up. But as I watched them tiptoe around each other and finally give into their feelings, it just cemented the fact that they're meant to be together. Wolfe stirs up all those protective instincts in Trace and gives him someone to shower in love and care. And Wolfe has always needed someone who'll want him for just him and Trace gives him that. From chasing each other around the country to connecting through music to a little life threatening danger, these two prove over and over again that they're meant for each other and I loved every second of their journey! And I'm so glad that Gabe is next because this book just made me even more excited for his story!

I have to say, I’m really really enjoying this series, the guys of the Marian next generation are awesome and I love their stories very much.
This time is Wolfe’s turn to finally have his HEA with the man he has loved for decades.
Wolfe is Derek and Jude Marian’s son and he has lived his whole life under the public scrutiny, despite his parents’ effort to raise their children out of the spotlight. When the story starts, Wolfe has just turned thirty and he’s a bit lost about the direction of his life, both regarding his job and his love life.
As a matter of fact, Wolfe has been keeping secrets from his loving parents, he has built a career no one knows of and he’s been very successful, even if anonymously. Now he’s been finding it harder and harder to keep this secret to himself and he’s struggling to finally reveal it to Jude and Derek.
His secret career is connected to the heartbreak he suffered six years prior, when the love of his life rejected him because he was too young and their age gap was too big.
Trace had a very difficult life: he had been a homeless teen with no money or home or caring parents (they kicked him out because they found out he was gay) until a lucky night during a shift in a bar brought Derek Marian in his life. Trace owes Derek and Jude everything: not only they helped him financially, but they also supported him in building a career and included him in their family.
So when he got the hint that Wolfe had a crush on him, Trace shut him down immediately and he left San Francisco to go to Legacy to work at SERA. In the following years, though, he realised that he was attracted to Wolfe too, not only physically, but also emotionally: they’ve always been friends, they’ve known each other deeply but despite he missed Wolfe greatly, he still couldn’t let himself imagine a future together.
After a wonderful kiss followed by a devastating second rejection, Wolfe finally gives up and decides to get over Trace for good. He leaves without telling anyone and stops every contact with his family, making his parents so worried that they ask Trace to track him down.
During the following weeks, when he finally finds him, Trace realises he missed a lot of things during the years they spent apart: Wolfe is no longer his best friends’ kid, the one he often saw like a sweet teenager. Wolfe is a man who built something great for himself without anyone’s support, he’s resourceful and brave and he’s very much the person Trace wants to spend his life with.
I adored the physical scenes: they were Wolfe’s dream come true but it was Trace the one completely overwhelmed by the intimacy they shared. The close proximity in the van was deliciously sweet and amazing.
I also appreciated very much how the author handled the age gap and the fact that Trace had known Wolfe since he was about 10 years old. There’s never anything inappropriate in their closeness: to quote Jude “Of course not. Jesus, Trace."
The epilogue is very good and, as usual, Lucy Lennox gives us a hint about the MC of the next story: I’m very much intrigued, since Gabe seems to have unique abilities. I wonder if they caused him trouble.
Lastly, thank you so much to Lucy Lennox for providing the bonus novella about Brennan and Val and the one about poor Patrick, I was very curious about them and I’m very happy about how things turned out for them!

It's the fourth book in her Made Marian Legacy series, which is a spin-off series from her Made Marian series and her Billionaire Brother series, and this book is set in the same area as her Aster Valley series (the first and the last are also connected to her Forever Wilde series).

Lucy is always SOO good at making the mutual pining so incredibly sweet but also so incredibly painful. The angst is somehow romantic and we're okay with that. It blows my mind each and every time.
The utterly dedication after the MCs get through their angst? The utter devotion? The no-holds-bared out-loud obsession? The pure fluff? The perfect amount of spice? Allllll of the yyyeeesss.
I could live without the live-or-death situations in each book on this series, while in the middle of nature, with nature doing what nature does best. *sigh* I only mean that a little bit. It adds so much danger and suspense to the novel, but it also highlights how fucking competent the MCs are. It also further highlights that dedication and the protection (without smothering the other).
Am I thrilled that we get a bonus story for Val and Brennan? Hell yes. Am I thrilled that we have to wait months and months for Gabe's HEA? Not so much (tis the life of a reader though).

Lucy is always SOO good at making the mutual pining so incredibly sweet but also so incredibly painful. The angst is somehow romantic and we're okay with that. It blows my mind each and every time.
The utterly dedication after the MCs get through their angst? The utter devotion? The no-holds-bared out-loud obsession? The pure fluff? The perfect amount of spice? Allllll of the yyyeeesss.
I could live without the live-or-death situations in each book on this series, while in the middle of nature, with nature doing what nature does best. *sigh* I only mean that a little bit. It adds so much danger and suspense to the novel, but it also highlights how fucking competent the MCs are. It also further highlights that dedication and the protection (without smothering the other).
Am I thrilled that we get a bonus story for Val and Brennan? Hell yes. Am I thrilled that we have to wait months and months for Gabe's HEA? Not so much (tis the life of a reader though).

Trace Bishop owes everything to the Mirians...their support, his business, and their longtime friendship changed his life. He is strong, smart, capable, and a protector. And the way he’s tried to protect Wolfe for years is just to ignore the big question and forbidden thoughts between them, so he moved away to stay out of reach and runs a Search and rescue business.
But when Wolfe pushes him past his breaking point and he reacts strongly, that sets Wolfe off for a voyage of self-discovery and to figure out how to move on and ehat to do about his life. And eventually, it sends Trace on the path to find him. Trace has always been able to figure him out and find him when needed. And once he finds him, it might be time for them both to actually try to figure out if there’s any potential and if the risks are worth the rewards. But there is a lot for them to get through, and their intertwined lives have the potential to get messy and hurt feelings.
Sometimes I have a hard time with age gaps, especially when an adult has known this person as a child. But he was appropriately respectful as far as the ages went, and in the present, they were thirty and forty six and so it didn’t really bother me. I felt like Wolfe was an old soul and knew what he wanted. And Trace always showed that he cared about Wolfe and that he was special to him, even when he was afraid to admit to the truth to himself, let alone anyone else.
I enjoyed more time with other characters from Lucy’s world, especially Wolfe's parents, Jude and Derek. And I am looking forward to the next book in this series with Gabe.

I read this in one day. It was so good I didn't want put down beside the required food breaks I didn't.
Wolfe is Derek and Jude's oldest child. He's been in love with his dad's best friend Trace for half his life. Their 16 years difference in age and 6 years back he'd asked Trace if would date someone younger by that many years he was told no. Not long after SERA was born and Trace left to go to Legacy with the foundations help.
Trace was thinking it was a crush that Wolfe had on him and it would go away. Wrong, now six years later they both are still wanting because Trace had them too even though tried force them down.
When Trace gets message about Wolfe being MIA after he gets back from a training mission he goes in search of Wolfe. After a kiss over a month back they shared when Wolfe showed up at Trace's place, Wolfe didn't go home. He hit the road trying to find himself because he doesn't want do what been doing anymore. He wants do more.
Wolfe had a secret he's been keeping that is a whopper. He's been writing and singing songs under an alias but he's never been in public. Their some personal things he keeps to himself about the why too. When he's in this road trip which I thought was awesome btw he's having so much fun and getting to be his self.
Trace, as he always has, finds him. He sticks around too and they work on what they want. I was glad when they stopped fighting it. It's seriously awesome and romantic.
There is of course drama with a person that Wolfe meets who figures out who he is first that he's Jude Marian's son then that he's Fletcher Coe. That's when things got complicated near end because this person. Thankfully Trace is there, but Wolfe was also saving himself by using all that not only Trace taught him but Derek as well to get back.
The ending was perfect. We got see some the Marian's in this and can't wait for Gabe's book. I loved the side characters that were good. I wouldn't mind a book with Clay if he's gay or something in the LGBTQIA world just a hint maybe.

I absolutely adored this romance, I couldn't put it down and managed to read it in a few hours because I loved Wolfe & Trace so much.
We've met Trace before, in Tommy Marian's Rescuing Dr. Marian because he owns and runs the SARS training centre, but Wolfe Marian's been a bit more of a mystery until this book.
He's Jude and Derek's son and he's a wonderfully vulnerable soul, with an incredible musical talent that he's hidden away under a false identity because he doesn't want people to think he's trading on his dad's name.
Throughout this narrative, Lucy slowly lets the reader see inside Wolfe's head and how the crush he's had on his dad's best friend Trace has shaped his life since his sexual awakening when he was 13 and realised he was attracted to men.
The age gap, although 17 years, never feels like it's that big because both men have known each other their whole lives and there's a history between them that brings depth to the relationship, even when Trace is determined to ignore the way his own feelings ignited six years previously, when Wolfe was 24.
He's been running away ever since, a mixed up sense of loyalty to Derek, his own thoughts of inadequacy due to his own background and the feeling that Wolfe has just a crush that will go away, all combine to provide excellent tension points within the story.
The secondary plotline, about Wolfe's secret identity and his fears over discovery, also worked well for me. I felt the situation, after Wolfe's headed off incognito in a Mercedes camper van and joined up with a bunch of vanlifers, seamlessly fitted into the storytelling and gave the right amount of perceived danger to justify it.
Overall this is another brilliant entry in the Marian Legacy series and I'm so stoked to hear Gabe's up next and will we get a best friends to lovers romance with Hunter?!

Tracking Wolfe is the fourth book in the Made Marian Legacy series by Lucy Lennox. I'm really enjoying the series always look forward to the next set of characters while still reading the present book. Wolfe and Trace's story is complicated. There's not only an age-gap, Trace is Wolfe's father's best friend. So he's off-limits. Wolfe has always had a crush on Trace and pretty much everyone knew except Wolfe's dads and Trace (at first). But Trace feels too old and not good enough. Wolfe finally can't take it anymore and he kisses him and reveals his feelings. And when Trace gets scared he leaves town and they don't see each other for six years. It's crazy to me how that could happen with them being so close for all of Wolfe's life, but here we are. When Wolfe goes off the grid, Trace is the only one who can find him. Not only is search and rescue his job, it's Wolfe. It's like Trace woke up one day and realized his feelings, but it had been happening for years. He's decided he's not going to let Wolf get away again. Wolfe is off camping and making new friends and trying to move on with his life, all while having a secret identity. His father is a famous rock star and he never wanted to take advantage of that. So he writes songs under a pseudonym and they are all about Trace. He doesn't expect to see Trace at his campground and things don't go as planned. But it's Trace and he can't not want him. He's tried. Wolfe needs to stop thinking Trace thinks of him as a child and Trace needs to be honest about his feelings. There's some communication issues, but the love is there. When Wolfe goes missing for real this time, Trace does everything in his power to find him and protect him. They have some decisions to make about what their future looks like, but once they are all in, it's easy. Just love each other! I loved seeing our old friends again and already looking forward to Gabe's story! Woo Hoo!

In this reader's opinion, Ms. Lennox has truly outdone herself with this one.

Tracking Wolfe is book 4 in the Made Marian Legacy series, and while it can technically be read as a standalone, these books are all interconnected, and a lot of the family has cameos in it, so even if you start with this book, I'm pretty sure you'll want to read the others at some point.
I loved Wolfe, and I wanted to coddle him and make it all better. Having to live under the shadow of his very famous dad, Jude Marian, while wanting to have a career in music himself, was difficult for Wolfe. So he decided to create a new persona, Fletcher Coe, a Grammy-winning songwriter who remained anonymous. Add to that his unrequited love for Trace, his dad Derek's best friend, and he's had enough of everything, making him buy an RV and join a caravan, losing time without contacting anyone, and making his dads ask Trace to track him down. While I liked Trace, I also wanted to deck him because of his mixed signals at first. I do get that 17 years is a large age gap, but Wolfe was 30, not a teenager. And Trace was the one who crossed a line by kissing Wolfe and then saying they couldn't do it again because of Trace's friendship with Wolfe's dads. At least he made up for it.
Wolfe and Trace definitely had lots of chemistry, and they were super hot together. They also seemed to mesh well and fit with each other, despite their age difference.
I devoured this book; it had a bit of everything: angst, suspense, lots of Marian characters, pining, enough chemistry between the MCs to start a conflagration, love, and fun. I'm already looking forward to Gabe's story. Very recommendable!

Dare I say... I WANTED MORE ANGST!
The first 30% of the book was perfectttttt!!! But once Wolfe goes on to the van life, I feel we left aside much of the initial tension and angst. From there, it was a rush of fun side characters and sexual encounters between Wolfe and Trace (who folded like a fucking plastic chair as soon as he was inside Wolfe's van), plus the side story injected about Wolfe being blackmailed and in danger.
Ahh, I wish the author would've picked between 'age gap'/'dad's best friend' VS 'hidden identity'/'pop star'. One plot would've been fine, but here we have a bit of everything, and while the hidden identity made a bit of sense because Wolfe was writing about his one-sided love for Trace, I think that plot took over the book more than the 'I want Trace to love me and see me as the adult I am,' which took from the story, the tension and angst and turned into 'how can I tell him about my secret and how can I come clean to my family'....
Why did I still rate it 4 stars? Because I think it was better than the previous book and because I loved the first 30-35% of the book. Also because I love the small bits we saw of the other Marian, which is a change from the previous book where we basically didn't see anyone until the last minute. I also loved Lennon, JJ, and Gabe, and hopefully we will get a book for everyone; plus the other campers were kinda cool. The extra stories were also cute.
Truly, this was more of a 3.75-star rating. I guess sentimentality won.

One plot would've been fine, but here we have a bit of everything, and while the hidden identity made a bit of sense because Wolfe was writing about his one-sided love for Trace, I think that plot took over the book more than the 'I want Trace to love me and see me as the adult I am,' which took from the story, the tension and angst and turned into 'how can I tell him about my secret and how can I come clean to my family'....
Truly, this was more of a 3.75-star rating. I guess sentimentality won.
9/4 edit: I have been thinking about this book lately, and I get irritated at how the whole 'hidden identity' hijacked the 'age gap/dad's best friend' and the 'one-sided feelings' and took the angst away, and I'm arghhh. So changing the rating to 3 and will leave it at that because if I keep thinking about this one, it will continue to go down.

Finally embracing your heart
Wolfe and Trace in this age gap, father’s best friend, secret identity romance with a side of double pining was so heartwarming, swoony and spicy. The added suspense and slight danger was just the cherry on top of this story’s delicious perfection. Be still my soft heart. Wolfe is 30 years old and the son of a famous singer. He has a secret identity as a famous songwriter who has never been seen. Trace is 46 years old and an instructor and director at a SERA school. Trace is also best friends with Wolfe’s two dads and been part of his family as an honorary uncle since Wolfe’s childhood. There are feelings but Trace is holding back and after he drew an imaginary line in the sand two months ago following an epic kiss, Wolfe decides to go off grid to get over him and reset his life. Oh the feelings got me. Unfortunately, not everyone Wolfe meets during his wanderings have his best interests at heart. The journey to their HEA has been long and winding but to finally get there, Trace will need to do what he does best to find Wolfe along with both of them taking leaps of faith and embracing the truth. As always with this author’s books, this well written story included engaging dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and a captivating storyline. I am excited to read more in the series since this one made my romance loving heart extra happy. Who wouldn’t fall in love with Trace and Wolfe and their love story? Also, I really wish I could be adopted by the Marians, they’re such a great big happy, loving example of found family.
