This is another excellent addition to the Easy Day Hikes series. The book is meant to give easy/doable hikes and so while it won't include every hike you can do in the park (the author provides a book recommendation you can get for all the hikes available), these will be easy to follow, with low elevation changes, and with fairly flat surfaces. The information is cleanly presented and very easy to use and follow.

The beginning of the book is a brief description of what to expect in the Park, how to be prepared/what to bring, and how the author defined 'easy' for the hikes. The types of hikes are described (loop, lollipop, shuttle, out and back), and the hikes are ranked from easiest to hardest.

Each hike has a name, start location, distance, hiking time, best season, a link to online maps, finding the trailhead instructions (driving there/parking), and then the hike information. You'll get a good description of what's on the hike in terms of wildlife, sights, vistas, points of interest, etc. in the description. At the end is a map with directions to get there, parking location, and the trail itself with any waypoints/points of interest shown.

In all, this is a excellent book to help you decide how best to explore the park without needing thousands of dollars worth of hiking equipment and an athletic frame. It's suitable for families and those wanting to experience the park on a casual 1-2 hour basis. Reviewed from an advance review copy provided by the publisher.

The author gives detailed trail descriptions and maps of his favorite short hikes in Yellowstone National Park.

This includes geysers, paint pots, and glowing blue pools; deep canyons with plunging waterfalls; broad river valleys with seemingly endless views; and tall rugged mountains.

This is an easy to read hiking guide to Yellowstone hikes. Mostly suitable for school age kids, depending on their fitness level.
There are 30 hikes described, all in different areas of the park. He also rates the hikes described from easiest to hardest, which is helpful. A small map of each hikes location is also helpful.

This author also has another book called "Hiking Yellowstone National Park", which has longer, more strenuous hikes.

I love this easy day hike book! My family has been doing a lot of these hikes for years. I hope to do every hike sometime.
