An Air Force brat, Mageela Troche landed in New York City and wanted to leave the same day she arrived. Yet, with her stubbornness, she learned to like the place and the libraries were the main reason. Once she learned to read and write, she decided to be an author and an actress. Once in college, she changed her life plan in the pursuit of money. After all, college loans must be repaid.

With life’s twists and turns, she returned to writing and focused on the romance genre. She joined RWA (Romance Writers of America) in 2004 and soon discovered RWA-NYC. At her first meeting, Keynotes Editor volunteered her to write an article and she knew she found her group. She placed second in Best Love Scene contest and in 2012, RWA-NYC annual award ceremony, the Publisher of the Year, Secret Cravings Publisher, held a contest. First place winner would have their novel published.

Mageela lost, placing second however, the publisher wanted her book, The Marriage Alliance. She signed the dotted line a couple of weeks later. Her debut novel is out now.

~~~~~~~~~~Dee's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Rowan and Lachlan have an epic romance surrounded with secrets, murder, mystery, clan battles, superstition and a disregard for the intelligence, value and competency of women. Lots of action and intrigue to keep the reader interested. Twists and turns, surprises and a tugging at heartstrings to keep you hanging on. The battle between the clans toward the end was graphic and well written. It was easy to see the action. The struggle to kidnap little Kenny and the heroic actions of his mother determined to rescue him was exciting. I found the epilogue to be very amusing. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Great story and very well orchestrated. Five Stars.
I am lucky enough to get a copy to review for SNS review group. This is a story set in Scotland where duty comes first no matter what. Rowen MacKenzie is in love with Lachlan but he is a bastard and will never be good enough for the clan. So Rowen has to marry someone else from the Murray Clan to strength the clans. She is given no choice so she goes with her new husband and starts a new life. They both go on with their lives Rowen has a son and Lachlan is now Laird. Rowen's husband is killed so she runs with her son Kenny as she is not safe as the Murray want her dead. There is only one place she knows that she will be safe. Lachlan is so happy to have her back abut he does not why she is running. There is unrest coming as many want to see Lachlan destroyed. Can he keep Rowen & her son safe from his clan & his enemies. Who can he trust as there are so many stories but what is the truth. Can they get their happy ever after. I really enjoyed this book I had to fall over the names but I could almost smell the countryside & picture them both. The book has it all war, scandals, death and undying love
Rowen MacKenzie is forced to marry Eacharn Murray by her brother. She has to marry him because it is a good tie for the clans. Lachlan Gordon is in love with Rowen but because he is a bastard can not have her. They love each other and try to spend as much time together as possible before Rowen is wed. Rowen marries Eacharn and they have a happy marriage though it is a short marriage. Rowen ends up being a widow after 4 years with a son to take care of. She has to flee from her home for fear of her life and her sons. She tries to make it back to her brothers lands but after being attacked by wolves Lachlan rescues her from the woods. He brings her to his newly acquired lands. His father has been murdered and Lachlan is voted to be the new Chief. Lachlan is trying to gain the trust of his new clan and discover who murdered his father while making Rowen a permanent part of his life this time. Rowen is afraid that she will make things more difficult for Lachlan because word has spread about her being a banshee and the people fear her.
This book has a great story line. There are lots of little twists and turns and plot twists that keep it moving along and interesting. The characters are well written and well liked. You just want Lachlan and Rowen to have their happy ending. Rowen's little boy Kenny was so adorable you just wanted Lachlan to take care of the little guy. The only thing I did not like was the author seemed to jump around a bit. I had troube following some spots in the book and would reread areas thinking I missed something.
I would recommend this book to an adult who enjoys Scottish Romance.
>Review - Highland Scandal -
>I received this book from the author and from Paranormal Romance and Authors that Rock. I am an independent reviewer. This is a stand alone novel that ends in an HEA.
>Rowan is a highland lass, resigned to her fate of an arranged marriage to the Murray clan. She is in love with Lachlan, the bastard son of the Gordon clan, but his status prevents them from marrying. Before Rowan's wedding, she and Lachlan submit to their feelings. In those times, women had no say in their futures. The love between Lachlan and Rowan was so bittersweet because it was forbidden, but their love was pure.
>Fast forward 4 years. Rowan's husband is dead and Rowan and her son are in danger. Some higher ups in the Murray clan realize that her son, Kenny, is not a Murray at all and are trying to kill both her and Kenny. Rowan flees to Lachlan, now a laird.
>This is a fine second chance romance, set in Scotland with all the things I love: kilts, highlanders, romance and alpha males. There is a bit of a sinister plot throughout the story that twists and turns to keep the reader on edge. The romance is wonderful and the love Lachlan has for Kenny is wonderful to see.
> This book is for an adult audience. This book is a must read for lovers of all thing Scottish.
Rowen has been known as the MacKenzie Banshee. Where she goes, death will surely follow. Marriage was something that she would have no say in, even after the death of her father. During her life, women were still thought of as pawns in the world of man. Even though she is loved by her brother, he arranges a marriage for her to better her life and their clan. Unfortunately Rowen's heart belongs to another, someone that she can never marry based on his status. She is apprehensive going to a new clan because of her reputation. Her future husband promises that no one will mistreat her around him. But can he always be there? What does this change hold for her and can she ever get her love Lachlan out of her heart?
Normally I love historical books, but I had a hard time with this one. The story line was good and full, but it felt like the scenes jumped from one to one too quickly. I found myself missing a pieces of information that I felt I needed and even re-read passages several times to try to ease the rocky jumps.
I loved Lachlan he was such a passionate man, "Rowen I will protect you with my heart. You are part of me...the only part worth anything." Having a son is a joy especially little Kenny, "Kenny climbed between him and Rowen. He peeled an eye open. "That is the only thing that shall be getting up." Kenny was my favorite character he was so pure and innocent and such a joy, "morn, ma, we're going fishing. You cannot come because you are with bairn and bigger than a castle. That's what da said." I enjoyed this book a lot, especially little Kenny.
