The tables turn on two parents who force their kids to be influencers.
Cassie can’t get her new coworker out of her mind until after a surprise visitor comes knocking.
Bella attends a camp for the wealthy and discovers their life or death tradition.
Two girls dancing, two girls dancing, one man dying.
Rowan was betrayed by someone she trusts, so he must feel exactly what she felt.
A slice of life about a cannibalistic woman with delusions of grandeur.
This collection of short stories is soaked in raw emotions, a plethora of drugs, forced self-cannibalism, and more. Some women’s actions are fueled by revenge. Others kill just because. Either way, good for her.
This book contains disturbing themes and graphic descriptions of violence and torture. Reader discretion is advised.
"Realistic, extreme visceral, each story is just as engrossing as the last." - Ryan J. Powell, author of Dollface and Eight Cases of Jane
E. T. lives in Nunya with her cats and plans to adopt more fur babies in the future. She mainly writes in the genres of Splatterpunk, Thriller and Extreme Horror. As a late diagnosed AuDHD/OCD adult, she had trouble assimilating most of her life. Reading and writing became a form of escapism, and now she uses it to try and make reality a better place. Her goal is for others to feel seen and heard.
Story one: don't forget to subscribe 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I have a morbid fascination with family bloggers, the way the parents exploit their children and film every minute of their lives. I used to watch them when I was little, finding it questionable even then. This is the story of the Walsh's; the mother's greed, the father's passivity, and the eldestdaughter'ss revenge. Plus rollerskates 😛
Story two: limerance 3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Obsessive, horny, crazy girlies who are done putting up with men's shit, this one's for you
Story three: a deadly sin 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ??? WHAT. I don't know what I was expecting, but it certainly wasn't that 😭 I really enjoyed the way it was told, disorienting but very immersive, so much so that I forgot I was reading. We didn't get any answers as to why people accepted what was happening, but it also fits the story. The ultra rich live in their own bubbles and often do strange, unfathomable or downright evil things, most of which we don't even know about, but don't feel the need to justify themselves. Very relevant. Thank god I've never been to a summer camp (EDIT: I JUST READ THE AUTHORS NOTE AND SAW THAT THERE'S GOING TO BE A NOVELLA BASED ON THIS STORY. NONE OF YOU UNDERSTAND HOW HAPPY I AM)
Story four: intruder 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A nod to the themes in E.T.'s first book 'swallow me whole'. It's such a short story (☹️) so I won't spoil what it's about, but you'll be very uncomfortable when you learn what 'two girls dancing' actually means. Also the OCD rep is apparently very good, I asked my diagnosed friend to read the story and she signed off lol
Story five: cells 4.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Normally I can't stand pregnancy stuff in books and was advised by the author to skip this one, but I'd been loving the collection so much that I decided to give it a go anyway. I'm very glad that I did. If a man ever put me in that position, I don't think my actions would be too far off from the main characters 😂 also love to see the female friendship pull through
Story six: a simple kind of woman 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The first line caught me off guard, though it probably shouldn't have considering what the other stories were like 😭 Another story about pedophiles, but I don't think I'll ever get sick of seeing them dickless and begging for mercy. The main character is unhinged and I love her for it. She's a cannibalistic serial killer, but still loves her feline companion
WOW....just WOW! This collection was amazing on so many different levels. You get not only amazing story telling but gore, excitement and so much more. I was lucky enough to have the author let me read an ARC of this book and I'm so thankful I was able to!
This collection is quite short being roundly 130 pages with 6 different stories, about different women and definitely about different things each is going through. I loved each story for different reasons, but my favorites were A Deadly Sin, Limerence and A Simple Kind of Woman (I shouldn't have been eating while reading this one, so this is your warning, take that as you will). Now Splatterpunk is not something new to me but I will say E.T. has a great writing style that doesn't feel forced or overdone which can be the case with a lot of Splatterpunk.
I would definitely recommend this book to fans of authors like Mique Watson and Judith Sonnet! This collection is so close to being perfect for what Splatterpunk should be and I say close because, I was disappointed this book ended as quickly as it did...but I mean this in the best way possible. I truly cannot wait to see what E.T. puts out next because this is the kind of writing/story telling that I absolutely love!
Good for Her is a splatterpunk symphony of feminine fury sharp, unrelenting, and soaked in righteous blood. Every story feels like it was written with teeth bared. This isn’t rage for shock value. It’s rage born from dismissal, gaslighting, entitlement, control and it erupts in ways that are visceral, grotesque, and deeply cathartic. E.T. takes the “good girl” narrative and rips it apart. These women are not here to be likable. They are here to survive. To retaliate. To reclaim. And sometimes? To absolutely annihilate. The body horror hits hard. The revenge arcs feel earned. The emotional undercurrent that simmering, culturally ingrained silencing of women makes the violence feel symbolic rather than gratuitous. It’s extreme, yes. It’s splatterpunk. But it’s also smart. There’s something almost sacred about watching suppressed fury become monstrous. The transformation isn’t pretty and it’s not meant to be. If you love: • Feminine revenge horror • Extreme splatterpunk with purpose • Stories that make you uncomfortable in the best way • Cathartic brutality This collection delivers. Rage never looked so beautiful.
Amazing work from one of the brightest new voices in extreme horror. The only story that didn’t click for me was the last one, but it’s bound to click for someone else. It’s perfectly crafted—like the whole thing. My favorite was the Summer Camp one that is getting a Novella spin-off, so, yay me! (Shout out London Tipton)
Visceral deliciously disturbing vengeance. Had me clutching my pearls and cringing all while squealing "YOU GO GIRL!!" In credible collection, not one story disappointed!
A short and sweet collection of stories about women who get their lick back at the men who have wronged them (either personally or not). All of the protagonists have different circumstances and personalities, making each story fresh and exciting; you never knew where you were going to read next in the best way. My favorite story had to be the summer camp one (iykyk)!!
Thank you to E. T. for the ARC in exchange for a review (again)! I always have fun reading your work!
I thought this was wonderfully put together. I thought it was a great collection to read if you love Feminine revenge horror , Extreme splatter punk with purpose. It made rage look so beautiful. The body horror aspect was incredible. I found these stories to be both enjoyable and disturbing at the same time. This was a wonderful collection I had a great time reading this.
This book was the most female rage, weird girl, extreme horror, splatterpunk book I’ve ever read. On that note. I loved every minute of it. This amazing short story collection was the perfect amount of story to really end each one saying “hmmm… well good for her”. If you’re a lover of strong female characters, love a little gore, sex, and a decent helping of ick, then I highly recommend this one. I have read a small amount of splatterpunk, but out of everything I’ve read this is the first one that made me gag and cringe. Check your trigger warnings first and if you still want to read it, enjoy!
If you want extreme revenge horror that unsettles and empowers, this collection delivers. I really enjoyed this book! every story is unapologetic and unforgettable. Splatterpunk at its most intense, it captures feminine fury in ways that linger long after the last page.
Good For Her was an amazing anthology of revenge full of torture, dismemberment, and gore! E.T. did an amazing job creating these stories, making me want more from them after the end. I gotta say that “A Deadly Sin” and “Cells” were by far my favorite stories in the collection. As a huge animal lover, I also enjoyed that the author made a note for everyone that while there may be brutal, save, gory, and extreme torture scenes, no animals will be harmed. Can’t wait to see what E.T. Has coming next
I received a copy from the author in exchange for a review. I just realized that I previously posted it as a rating without the review. Whoops!!!
Score: 3.5, rounded up
Right off the bat, I will say that author "ET" is already shaping up to be a unique voice in horror after debuting only last year. They (she?) display a lot of skill in incorporating modern social and gender issues into horror stories in a way that feels natural rather than awkward/shoehorned. I would call call it "woke horror" in a positive way if the W-word hadn't been run into the ground by now.
The author's debut novel Swallow Me Whole was decent but I felt it suffered from a lack of editing, not only in terms of grammar but length and overall continuity as well. This short story collection is a better showcase of their talents while minimizing the weak points. My favorite parts of most of these stories were the first half which laid out the character motivations and backgrounds, most of which were very engaging and relevant to our modern world. The term "feminine rage" is being tossed around a lot lately, but I think this story collection nails it better than anything I've read lately.
I will say some of the stories kinda lost me when they got to the violence and torture bits. Part of this is because I find torture porn to be pretty boring if it doesn't involve on-screen special effects, and part is due to the nature of this collection. As you might guess from the title, most of the stories are themed around women getting righteous revenge against abusive and/or perverted men. That's fine--great actually, we love to see it! The problem is that the stories lose tension when it starts to become obvious what's going to happen in the second half. I also was mildly put off by some of the revenge scenarios because they seemed unrealistically complicated and it took me out of the story a bit. My final complaint is there were a number of weird grammatical flubs, mainly the author's refusal to use the past perfect tense (i.e. "she had said" or "he had done") but my copy does say that it hasn't been proofread yet, so hopefully the final version is more polished!
One final note: I read the author's afterword and they made a passing comment saying "I didn't want to linger too much on the traumas prior to the revenge scenes." Personally, I found the writing about trauma to be much more interesting and meaningful than the revenge scenes! I hope in the future the author focuses more on characters and scales back the torture a bit, because they have a real talent for the former and the latter is most effective in smaller doses.
Overall, a solid collection with some flaws from a very promising new author. ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!
First, I need to offer an insane amount of thanks to E.T. for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Below, I’m going to provide some spoiler-free opinions on my story.
-Don’t Forget to Subscribe. -A fantastic story about a YouTube family, where the parents are given the punishment they so dearly deserve. Graphic, dark, and visceral.
-Limerence -A story about an autistic girl, with the classic line, “Guys could be so weird.” Spoiler: That’s the default setting. The representation of the neurodivergence is expertly done and provides a glimpse into that psyche, without being obnoxiously overt about it. Feminine rage is on full display here and I’m 100% for it.
-A Deadly Sin -A story about attending camp as a teenager with your best friend. This one was a lot more psychological than the previous entries, showcasing the ability of E. T. to branch out from the more traditional EH/Splatterpunk tropes.
-Intruder -This one felt like a momentary glimpse into the mind of a writer, where they make up stories for the people they see, the sounds they hear, and the things that happen around them. Intermingled with those thoughts are also the basic tenets of grounding, pulling the main character back from the brink. Favorite part was someone getting stabbed in the bum. This is quickly followed by feminine rage and revenge.
-Cells -The beginning of this one made me cringe. Hard. Men truly are idiots. I apologize on behalf of my gender. Also, the medical care for females in this country is absolutely horrid and represented in it’s full glory here. This has all the facets of a Rayne Havok story and I am 100% for it. This one takes that mentality and turns it up to 11. Also, great movie mentioned in this one (I Spit On Your Grave). The remake was phenomenal and so was this story.
-A Simple Kind of Woman -The absolute best introduction to a story ever. The first paragraph is perfection. The rest of it feels very much like a Satanic version of American Psycho. This one has a lot of sexual tension within and plenty of blood to go along with it. Probably my least favorite of the stories, but enjoyable none the less.
Overall, I adored this collection of stories. I think that “Limerence” was my favorite of the six, with “Don’t Forget to Subscribe” and “Intruder” in a tie for second. I’m fairly certain that has to do with my own struggles in life and seeing a bit of myself on display made me feel things.
Highly recommended collection of stories (especially for those that want to support a new author!).
Let me start by saying I have nothing but praise for E.T. and their writing style. I’ve had the pleasure of receiving ARC copies for not one, but two of their books, and I can confidently say you won’t be disappointed.
Good For Her is a collection of six short stories, each taking around 30 minutes or less to read. Every story is steeped in splatterpunk, and if you’re reading this review, I’m guessing that’s exactly what you’re looking for. What sets E.T. apart, though, is that the gore is never gratuitous. Beneath the blood and brutality are well-developed backstories and meaningful themes, elevating the collection far beyond shock value alone.
I won’t dive too deeply into each individual story because this is one you truly need to experience for yourself. However, the themes touch on contemporary issues such as social media, women’s healthcare, and neurodivergence, all explored in ways that challenge perceptions and encourage you to rethink how the world frames these topics.
Overall, this is a strong 4.5/5 read and, as always, an absolute pleasure.
E.T.- you’ve knocked it out of the park yet again.
The premises (primarily settings and setups) in Good For Her were diverse across each short story, and I really enjoyed the creativity laid out.
What I disliked: the men throughout this collection didn’t feel layered or complex in comparison with the women and girls. Often, male characters were used as mere devices in a “perp” versus “victim” narrative—with them being antagonists or weak and passive. Empowerment was certainly a motif (hence the title), but as a reader, the lack of gray area, depth, and believability to male characters got stale.
Favorite short stories: Don’t Forget To Subscribe and A Deadly Sin. There’s something in Good For Her for all to enjoy. Thanks to E.T. for the arc!
This was an extremely enjoyable and disturbing collection of short stories, all based around women being the bad ass.
The second story has the most unique and depraved way of using someone I have ever read. Honestly, I didn’t know if I should enjoy the scene or be horrified that ET came up with that!
I would like to thank the author for letting me Arc read again. Typically anthology’s aren’t not my thing. Good for her held my attention and kept me engaged in the stories. I enjoyed every story and at times I let out a wow. One story in particular I feel there is more meat left to create a whole book of the author chooses. To summarize I’d like to say good for her
Really awesome collection of short stories that splatterpunk horror fans will love. Who doesn't love a good feminine rage/revenge story? This book is full of them. I don't think I can pick a favorite (if I had to it would probably be a tie between Limerence and A Deadly Sin), but all of them are unique and have their own twists. Readers beware, this collection holds nothing back!
Beware of the warnings with this book! The stories are BRUTAL! Everything you could want from a good for her though. The gore was very well done and left me CRINGING! Can’t wait to see what else the author puts out!
