Kit Morgan, aka Geralyn Beauchamp, has been writing for fun all of her life. When writing as Geralyn Beauchamp, her books are epic, adventurous, romantic fantasy at its best. When writing as Kit Morgan they are whimsical, fun, inspirational sweet and clean stories that depict a strong sense of family and community. 'His Prairie Princess' is the first of the Prairie Brides books and the first in the series of a long line of stories about Clear Creek, Oregon. One of the wackiest little towns in the old west! Get to know the townsfolk in Clear Creek and come sit a spell!

NOTE: Hi folks, it has come to my attention there is an erotica book floating around out there written under the name Kit Morgan. IT IS NOT MY BOOK! I do not, and never will, write in that genre.

I think I've read three or four of Kit Morgan's Mail Order bride books now. Each time I forget I had ever read any. As I get into the books I realize how similar they are to others I barely remember. Then I look back at the Kit Morgan books I've read, and realize..."THAT'S why it sounds familiar!"

Each one has the same theme...someone from this small town orders a bride for a family member, or for someone they just think needs to be married, and the "groom" knows nothing about it. So the brides have to be kept at someone's home, or find her work, until she can get to know her unsuspecting intended and hopefully get him to marry her.

In this story, the catch is no one knows who ordered and paid for Ellie to move to Independence, Oregon to marry Julian, the undertaker's son. She comes expecting to meet her intended, but finds out he's not expecting her, knows nothing about this arrangement, and no one in town knows who did it.

The original meddling women involved in the other books see her, know that look of a woman getting off the stage looking for THE someone, and head her off to see if they can help. From their peculiar idea of helping her she thinks the town is nuts.

The other catch is Ellie has a secret she's not willing to tell anyone about right away...baggage of sorts.

So, this will definitely be the last of these books by Kit Morgan I will read. It was okay, just not different enough to be unique at all. I don't know if there are any others in this line of mail-order bride ,books but I've read enough for the rest of my life.

Prior books in this series would give you a bit more history on the townsfolk...helpful to know who belongs to whom and why they're significant. I barely remembered so I had to wing it. Not too hard though.

If it's the first of these books you're picking up, you will probably like it. It's cute, often fun, sweet, and romantic.

3 1/2 stars for me.

I love this series and this (book 10) is another fun and funny installment to the Holiday Brides. This time it's Valentine's Day and Julian Smythe is the latest victim of Independence's secret culprit sending off for mail-order brides. Even though Mercy, Martha and Maude started the tradition someone is up to making sure no single men are left in Independence. Our damsel in distress this time is Ellie Sampson who has a pretty big secret of her own! This installment had lots of subplots and the main plot was a little different from the other books which made it a lot more interesting. There's even a new partner in crime for the matrons, Mahulda who is bond to add more spice in the coming books. I laughed out loud at some of the things that were happening in the story especially when it came to Betsy. I do hope she is still an important character in future books even though she got her HEA in this one. As usual, All's-well -that- ends -well.

Simply wonderful! I am totally addicted to this series with the amazing Kit Morgan's writing and the fabulous voice of Michael Rahhal! It truly does not get much better than this, plus the town of Independence that makes me long to be a part of every time we visit there!
This time the matchmaker has struck again and for Julian and Ellie. Ellie answered an ad to become the bride of Julian. But of course when she got off the stage, the three M's got ahold of her with the help of Mahulda and gives her a job as a maid with Betsy for the Vander's! Julian has no idea she is there for him, but it seems they are drawn to each other.
Another mad cap humorous and heartwarming story that I adored. Thank you Kit Morgan and Michael for bringing me hours of Joy.

I found this book on sale at Amazon via Freebooksy
Betsy is no ordinary maid and Ellie has a hard time following in her steps; I don't blame her, LOL. Ellie, even as a survivor, did not impress me. She thinks too often as how Julian would want his own family, and not include her son Davey, without even knowing his values, running away at every turn - or trying to right from the beginning, saying "nothing" when everything is happening, and crying a lot instead of explaining. The town people doesn't disappoint as always, helping each other in times of need, and getting together when hope and joy are resurfacing. Julian is the epitome of a gentleman and it's too bag an epilogue wasn't included a few years after.

It's 1872 in Independence, Oregon; and in view of the lack of women in town, some of the mothers have been bringing in mail order brides. Ellie Sampson has been picked to become the bride of Julian Smythe by his mother. Ellie is a widow and is more concerned about finding work and being able to bring her son to be with her. Will this connection between Ellie and Julian go smoothly or will there be numerous bumps in the road?

Easy, enjoyable western romance that is filled with some humor, a touch of romance, and a group of wonderful citizens all trying to get two people to join together as one.

His Mail-Order Valentine

A brilliantly written book with lots of miischief and mystery and of coz those adorable meddling women whom you can't help but love. The secret matchmaker strikes again this time for Julian Smythe. Ellie finds herself bewildered turning up in Independence and having 3 women fussing over her but not the husband she came for as he hasn't a clue she is acutely his Mail-Order Bride. This story is charmingly funny, romantic and most of all we meet all our old friends again.

Kit Morgan writes a sweet holiday romance full of second chances, friendship, family and a little mystery. Ellie arrives in town as a mail order bride, but finds some crazy old women instead of her intended. Will she find love or disappointment in Independence? Read this fun love story with a Valentine title that isn't too over the top. Though this is book 10 in a series, it still makes a delightful stand alone story you won't want to miss!

A Sweet Humerus Romance Story

This book was so fun and lighthearted to read. I love all these characters and the small little town of Independence where everyone knows what’s going on with everybody. This series has been so much fun to read so far. Kit Morgan has a lot of talent and it shows in each book she writes. This book made me feel like I was right there in the middle of everything. I laughed so hard. On to the next book.

Why can't the meddling matriarchs let love take its course? But no, they have to "protect" Julian, the unsuspecting groom who is the latest victim of the Mad Matchmaker, and devise a crazy plan after Ellie's sudden appearance. Only, after seeing his best friends happily married, he's ready for a bride himself. And there's a twist with a "My Fair Lady" subplot.

His Mail Order Valentine

After becoming widowed with a young boy, Ellie, became a mail order bride. The only problem with that is, her groom had no idea she was coming. In fact, no one knew she was coming.
Through several weeks of mix ups and schemes, it looks like things might just be looking up only to have a disaster at the Valentine's dance.

Another fun chapter of the Holiday Mail-Order Brides series. The books in the series are very similar, but I just love the stories anyway. A bit of a twist towards the end that I didn't anticipate, but was a good addition. I'm looking forward to reading the next one.

Great Story!

This is the story of Ellie and Justin Smythe. Slowly the story unfolds to tell you why she's reluctant to get involved with Justin. Eventually the story has the loose ends tied up. All very enjoyable.

My Favorite One of Them All

Getting Betsy’s backstory so we’ll peppered in for a duo romance was such a joy to read.

I started out of order with the series and so, I didn’t know some of the histories. Loved this one.

Once again, Ms. Morgan has blown us away with this tender tale. Finally free of her abusive husband, Ellie finds herself in a bit of a situation when she travels to Independance to be a mail order bride, especially since her intended has no idea why she's there or who she is, but not because he doesn't want to. As time passes and Julian falls more and more for the beautiful Ellie, the secret she holds slowly eats away at her conscience even though she finds herself also falling for the man she hopes to marry. Will she ever manage to tell him everything? Will he accept her even after he knows?
Packed full of action and humour, as well as a couple of love matches just in time for Valentines Day, this well written tale will take you back in time when life seemed simpler but tales of the heart were just as difficult. Beautifully done!

An amazing Valentine

Ellie arrives at Independence to find out that her husband to be doesn't seem to know that she existed. The matrons of the town decide to disguise her as a maid. Julien has seen both of his friends getting married and is a little envious of their happy lives until he discovers a charming new woman who came to be a maid. It is a great story.

Mail Order Valentine by Kit Morgan is a delightful western romance filled with mystery and mischief. It is told in a way that endears the characters to the reader. Ms. Morgan possesses an art in the use of descriptive language as well as the ability to make the reader laugh.
Like most mail-order bride tales, the female protagonist comes west for the explicit purpose of finding a husband. The same holds true in this tale in Ellie Sampson who expects to be greeted at the train depot upon arrival to Independence, Oregon. Jillian Smythe, one of the three remaining bachelors, however, is unaware of her arrival. Ms. Morgan creates suspense by keeping the reader guessing as to the identity of the requester.
We do meet a strong set of supportive characters with the introduction of Mercy, Maude and Mercie---three independent matriarchs. This trio adds to zany scenes with their hilarious antics. Morgan builds complex motives for the actions of her characters. They are all multifaceted thereby giving dimension to them. To solve the mystery of who ordered the bride and whether or not Ellie and Jillian are destined to be together you must read this book.

Brides keeps showing up in Independence

Since there were three young bachelors in town, we have a third story of mail order brides in Independence. The main characters actually have a pretty straightforward courtship. It's local girl Bernice you have to watch out for with the local bookseller playing Professor Higgins. More on the ongoing relationship between Cecil and Betsy.

I like the familiarity of the character set, but maybe I have read too many in a short period of time.

still laughing!

I love Kit Morgan Books they are wonderful, sweet and full of romance and mischief. This last book had me laughing out loud, Ellie and Julian were excellent. Even the annoying Bernice was very well written in this book and her part in the story was welcomed. This is one of her best books so far and I can't wait for the next holiday bride. If you want to read a great historical try Kit Morgan she's a wonderful author.
