I don't usually keep things on my desk unless they are going to be useful in the close future and the moment I picked up the book I knew its place was going to be on my desk for the next weeks. Don't get me wrong, it's a beginner's book but it packs quite a wide range of info in it. I think at first I had kind of bigger expectations, I was expecting a more advanced type of information but then I read the title again and just dove into it, keeping my thoughts for the end. And it was a very good choice.

The book has illustrations and it's written quite well. You can get information on a lot of aspects of blog writing like: platforms, monetization, attracting a community, how to act with your audience, how to attract investors and advertising and lot of ideas about increasing your traffic. Though most of the technical details are about WordPress and Blogger, these are not the ones that give the book value, so don't worry.

And if there is one thing that this book reaffirmed, is that blogging (successful blogging that is) is everything but easy. It requires planning, wit, inspiration, training, marketing, sales and most of all - perseverance.

Bottom line: Yup, I liked it and I recommend it. Read it (make sure you also have others on the topic) and keep it close when you plan to start a blog as it will prove quite useful.

This book was thorough, yet easy to understand. The format makes it easy to find information when you need to refer back to it.

A lot of the technical information is about WordPress or Blogger, but if you happen to be using something else, this book still includes helpful information on content and design.

This will be a great reference book over the next few weeks as I'm designing my blog.
