In her first novella, Isabella Jinks does an incredible job at making the reader connect so deeply with the main characters that you feel as if they were your own best friends. And by the end of those packed, emotional 82 pages, you’re left sitting with a pit in your stomach…wondering what would you do if you were in Harper Green’s shoes (which is not an easy question to answer). I think Jinks dives deeply into the world of addiction, loss and generational trauma and crafts a story that even the most seasoned writer would have trouble successfully writing about.
5 Stars, no doubt about it. 100% recommended by me.
Short read that hits so thoroughly deep into a lot of feelings and thoughts of grief, loss, anger, betrayal, friendship, family, love, disappointment. Definitely be aware of the trigger warnings! But absolutely loved how this was written. I’m definitely eager to read more by Isabella! I was finishing the book at the park and cryyyiinnnggg. Bring the tissues!
