Two powerful males. One forbidden bond. A destiny written by the Fates.

Feylin was supposed to die in the crushing depths of the sea—the Fates had demanded it. But Olron had dared to defy them, pulling her from the brink and binding her to himself in a way neither of them can escape.

Now, Feylin is caught between two worlds and two men who would burn the realm to possess her.

Storm, the First Commander of Gravindale. He is her Fated Mate, the man promised to her by ancient law. His touch ignites a fire she can’t ignore, but his loyalty is to the crown she’s meant to fear. To keep her, he must betray his kingdom.

Olron, Dark Mage, the man who holds her from death. He is cold, lethal, and ignites a connection that defies the mate bond itself.

The Fates still demand a death. They will settle for a price.

Perfect for fans of ACOTAR, From Blood and Ash, and Throne of Glass.

A dark, angsty fated mates romance with morally grey heroes, forbidden magic, and a heroine who refuses to be fate's pawn.

Tropes: Forbidden Bond, Destiny, Fates, Die, Dared to Defy them, Binding her to him, Caught between two Worlds, Fated Mates, Ancient Law, Touch Ignites a Fire, Loyalty to a Crown, He must betray his Kingdom, Dark Mage, First Commander, Cold/Lethal MMC, Dark Romance, Angsty, Dark Paranormal Romances, Spice, Action, Tough Choices, Fantasy, Age Gap, Other Man/Woman, New Adult, Enemies-to-Lovers, Grumpy x Sunshine, Paranormal, Magic, Military, Fated Mates, Love Triangle,

Sought by Spirit is the 3rd book in the Chronicles of the Fates Series by Monica Ageno. If you like sexy, dark paranormal romances with fated mates, steam, action, and tough choices, this is for you.

Dang, what can I say about this third book in the Chronicles of the Fates series? I love how we get to continue to follow Feylin’s story. She’s already tampered with fate twice and she’s at the point now where she has to make her next choice very carefully…

Storm and Olron continue to fight for Feylin’s heart, but you can tell that there’s more going on than just a mate bond. While reading we think that there should be a clear and easy choice for Feylin to make, but after a lifetime of abuse, neglect and rejection and those are all factors in that decision that have to be made.

Sought by Spirit is so full of angst, longing, and there’s so much confusion for Feylin. And I found myself rooting for Feylin who happens to be the underdog here, I just kept hoping and waiting for a redemption arc. And honestly, I found it rather refreshing to see characters struggling with all these decisions and then once those decisions are made, they have to deal with the repercussions.

I really enjoyed this storyline along with the plot and sub-plot. The world building, the character development, the character arcs were so enjoyable. I loved that we got some more character descriptions like what they were wearing, their bodies, hair, even if they had tattoo’s or not were described and I found that I really enjoyed that.

I do have to admit that Sought by Spirit left me blown away. Monica has given us this brilliantly written series, the world-building, the dynamics between Feylin, Olron and Storm was just stunning. The imagination and creativity that Monica has and the plot twists that she used were exceptional.

I quickly realized when I started this book that I needed to stop and put it aside and go back and read the first two books in this series. And I have to say that I am really glad that I did. To start with, when I got back to this book all the events made more sense, I had a better sense of who all the characters were and what they had been through previously, and I understood what brough our three main characters to this point.

I’ll confess that by the end of each book I was enthralled and I wasn’t ready for any of the books to end and I am so glad that it seems that Monica isn’t ready to stop writing this series yet.

From the very first page of the very first book to the last page of this book, I never found a moment of relief from any of the events that kept exploding around our main characters. One after another, it seemed like it just kept getting worse and worse with each explosion and eventually it just got more and more devastating till it came to this final one that you’ll never see coming like a gut punch.

I really enjoyed this journey that I found to be well-written and I highly recommend it. I hope that Monica continues it like the ending suggests.

The third book in the Chronicles of the Fates series that follows Feylin’s story. This is our FMC who has meddled with fate twice already and now has to make her next choices very carefully...

Our MMCs, Storm and Olron, continue to vie for Feylin’s heart, but there’s more at play than a mate bond. While we think there should be a clear choice, a lifetime of abuse, neglect and rejection will all be factors in decisions that are made.

This book is so full of angst, longing, and more confusion for Feylin. I found myself rooting for the underdog here, hoping there would be a redemption arc. It’s refreshing to see characters that struggle with decisions and then have to deal with the repercussions.

Overall, the story itself was really good, there could have been better world building and less descriptions of the characters, i.e., their clothing/bodies/hair/tattoos that were described numerous times throughout the series and the book.

The writing isn’t next level; there’s a lot of repetition of feelings, descriptions, etc., within a single page of reading. There is a disconnect in the theme of writing, as well; some of the phrases used by the characters don’t make sense. I have a hard time gauging what this world is like; it seems medieval for the most part, but then there are more modern references.

The ending… definitely appears that the author has more to write in this series!

What. A. Read.
At this point, Monica Ageno is an automatic click and read author for me. I don’t even know how long I’ve been waiting for this book - the last one left me absolutely hanging, and I’ve been counting down ever since. And I can confidently say… it did not disappoint.
One of my favourite things about this series is that I genuinely cannot predict where the story is going. Just when I think I have it figured out, the rug is pulled out from under me. The twists are well blended .
And Storm. I did not expect to feel sorry for this character. I was not prepared for that emotional shift. I didn't even realise it until towards the end. caught me completely off guard. That kind of character development is what makes this series so hard to put down.
The tension, the emotional stakes, the unpredictability, chef's kiss. I really hope for the next one soon.

SOUGHT BY SPIRIT is a masterclass in Romantasy. Even jumping into Book 3, I was immediately swept away by the cinematic world-building and effortless descriptions. As someone with very limited rest time, I usually avoid the stress of love triangles. However, Monica Ageno has done the impossible! She wrote a dynamic so balanced and empathetic that I actually understood the FMC's indecision instead of feeling frustrated. It provided the perfect escape without the usual trope-induced headache.

I absolutely loved the ending and am now officially obsessed with Feylin’s journey. If you want high stakes, vivid magic, and a fated mates story that feels both epic and intimate, put this on your radar!

Many thanks to BookSirens, the publisher, and Monica Ageno for providing me with an ARC of Sought by Spirit. It was such a privilege to dive into this world before its release!

A strong follow-up from the second book. I am completely invested in this story - I genuinely could not put it down.
Rejection tropes absolutely undo me, and this book delivers that tension perfectly. When rejection is done right, the stakes feel sharper, the emotions hit harder, and every interaction carries weight. That’s exactly what happens here. The angst is real, the longing is palpable, and yes — the steam? Absolutely worth it.
One of the biggest highlights in this book is seeing real growth between the characters and not just the main ones; all the other supporting ones, too. There is humour, tension, passion, and moments that make your heart ache in the best way. Each of the Major characters brings something unique to the table. Very satisfying. Don't know if there are enough words to express how much I love this series. This book was exactly what I didn't know I wanted. I have loved this author's writing style since I first read her books; she is the queen of crafting complex, engaging stories.
I love the world that she has created with the Chronicles of the Fates series. The way she writes just evokes an emotional reaction in you, whether it's anger, frustration, or sadness... And the characters are everything. I absolutely have favourites.
I was reading for hours without realising how much time had passed.
I highly recommend Sought by Spirit. But maybe read the first 2 books. If you love fantasy and unique stories, you absolutely will love this.

Just Wow! I am totally blown away. The series is brilliantly written, with the world-building and the dynamic between the characters being awesome. This is one series that imagination and creativity of the plot twists are exceptional.

I had to stop and go read the first two books, and I am glad I did.

I found myself captivated towards the end of each book.

From page one of this last book in the series, there was no refuge or relief from the events that exploded, one after another after another, each more devastating than the last, piling up and snowballing towards an end I still didn't see coming.

A well-written journey, I enjoyed reading this. Highly recommend.

The triangle continues, and how?!
This story will keep you on your toes, that is for sure! This third book has lots of twists and turns, some predictable, others not so much. I feel like this was the book where all 3 MC'S really go through character development and we get to see a different side of them. I really liked that element.
While a love triangle isn't a thrope I typically love, this one was done in a way that I actually understood the fmc in her indecision.
Had a great time reading this story, I flew through the book in 2 days. I would recommend this series to all fantasy lovers.

Overall enjoyed the book. There was one section towards the start to middle where I felt like the FMC was getting very repetitive with her feelings and ideas surrounding the two MMCs and I struggled a little, but the story really picked up after that.

I do enjoy the world building but I hope that the story comes to a resolution soon and a happy one, otherwise it may start to feel too forcefully drawn out. I am pleased with who the FMC has partnered with as of the end of this book so far, I feel it is more realistic (would love to say more but trying to avoid spoilers).

Wow. Just wow. (In a good way). I came across Sought By Spirit via email when I was given an opportunity to be an arc reader. At the time I received it, I hadn’t even read books 1 or 2 because I’ve never seen this series before. Boy was I in for my first best series read of 2026.

Sought by Spirit was everything I needed it to be with a dash of utter frustration. It had yearning, “touch her and die” x100, and some questionable decision making that took me on an emotional roller coaster from awe to a bit of annoyed rage. I absolutely loved this book though and I can’t wait for the fourth!

OH MY WORD. Monica Ageno has left me shook, speechless and out of sorts because holy MOLY this book. Maybe I waited way too long for the third book to come out, and maybe I had an idea of what I thought would happen in this book, but none of what I imagined happened.
This is the third book in the series, and it is jam-packed with so many happenings that my brain is still trying to process some things....Like, why do I like Storm now? Well, he is still annoying, but...
Enjoyed every moment of this.
Thanks for the ARC copy

This was a very satisfying third book. I love this series! Do I forgive the absolute torture of waiting this long for the third book....a little. But did I inhale this book like it was oxygen? Absolutely.
I finished this in one sitting...all night. What I enjoy about this author's writing is how tight the pacing is and how jam-packed it is with action, reveals, and chaos. I was annoyed with the MC at times... but yes, I think the Queen is now my favourite character. Probably because I just like cruel characters.
Highly recommend this series.

Would definitely recommend to others! Best for those that have already read Books 1 and 2.

To be able to really connect with the story I will be going back to read books 1 and 2. So take this review with a grain of salt. my initial thought was I'm going to be too confused to stay with the story. However, understanding became more clear as the story progressed. The tension and history between Olron and Storm was done well and played well into the storyline. I really enjoyed the meeting the fates in the early part of the story. The information and choice given to our FMC was a good way to force a choice and see where the story would go. Well written and engaging for most of the story

Loved this love triangle built on fates and chosen mates. The way this story focused more on the journey and less on the spice, was perfect. The world building was some beautifully and the description was perfect. There was a bit of repetition in areas, but overall it wasn’t distracting at all. I really loved the storyline itself ands enjoyed being pulled into this world for a little while. I can’t wait for what comes next.

Well… that ending. I can’t wait to see what happens next. If you love love triangles, angst, yearning, and morally grey MMCs, then this is the jam. While there is spice, the story focuses more on the journey, the slow burn, and the grovelling. I really enjoyed this read—nothing wildly new, but the writing was addictive and the FMC was someone I truly rooted for. Happy reader here.

I love how descriptive the story is with places, people and happenings. It let's your mind picture it but not wander too far from the authors imagining.

Makes you think for yourself fated or chosen which is better. Story is full of intrigue and the feeling of what's going to happen next. Very emotional.

Devoured this book in a week. So glad I received a copy of it. I loved how engaging it was. I had thought this would be the end of the series, but the ending has given me so much hope. I love series like this where each book feels better than the previous.

This was a very interesting love triangle with fated or chosen mate bonds. The characters were very different from each other but mashed well together. This kept my attention and made me want to read more in this series.

First, let me start by saying that I’m an “I’m here for a good time” type of reader. That being said, I loved this book! I enjoyed pretty much everything about it, from the plot to the chemistry between the characters. I read this book as an ARC reader and have not read the first two books, but did not feel lost at all. Instead I craved more - and I will now be reading books 1 and 2 to find out more about why these characters were in the situations they were in.

Can’t wait for the next one!
