Death and darkness stained my soul. And it summoned a hive of vampires.
They were no ordinary vampire from myths, but monsters with fangs and beasts living under their skin. They called me a blood mate, a soul touched by death.
They were right. I had come close once. And now, surviving felt like a burden.
They vowed to protect me and claimed I belonged to them. Said their beasts needed my blood to keep from going feral.
It felt like a warning. Like maybe I should run. I was done running. Running from a past that haunted my nightmares.
They vowed that anyone who tried to take me from them would pay in blood. So if these monsters wanted to claim me. Ten let them.
Because with them, being hunted didn’t feel like fear. It felt like being chosen.
FERAL DEVOTION is a standalone, dark, med-burn, paranormal romance featuring possessive vampires and fated mates with a twist. The FMC does not have to choose between her monsters. MMFM+
Perfect for readers who love touch-her-and-die energy, feral beasts, morally gray heroes, why-choose dynamics with MM, found family, and trauma-healing romance. Some of her monsters fall hard, fast, and feral.
Plot: 4/5 • Spice: 5/5 ➡️➡️➡️ Paranormal vampire romance. But all vampires are also shifters 👀.
Sina gets mixed up with four (annnnnnd then five) vampires. They find her in their own way. One at the bar she works at. One transforms into his shift animal. One is her therapist. She has no idea they’re vampires though.
She’s been on the run/hiding from her ex brother in law. The brother in law who drove her to unalive herself. She didn’t obviously get to the 🪦 part, but the attempt did something to her blood. That’s why they’re all feral for her. Her blood sings to them.
Finding out their vampires wasn’t even the big deal. She’s gets more upset over secrets and omissions. Nik, the alpha, has been trying to keep his distance from her because of events that happened with their former blood mate. Elias, Nik’s partner/soul mate/ whatever you want to call him, won’t leave him for anything. Not even Sina.
This circles around keeping Sina away and safe from Keith, the ex brother in law. It isn’t until he decides to attack the living brother of one of her mates does all hell break loose.
There’s shifting, which some of them are all big, beefy animals. We have a raven and a fox included. There’s murder. Blood sharing. MM content. Don/Sub aspects. Lots, and lots of “touch her and die”. I do think Sina could have used a little more character depth. She was so lonely she didn’t think twice about attaching herself to them. This moves quick. Zero to 100, fast.
I received this as an ARC, and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

— tw: check the author’s official trigger warnings before reading. likely dark romance themes, blood, violence, trauma, death, possessive behavior, mental health heaviness, and intense sexual content.
this book was dark, bloody, possessive, and honestly kind of addictive. it had that “she is broken, they are monsters, and somehow this might be the safest place she has ever been” energy, which is exactly the kind of paranormal chaos i eat up.
the whole blood mate concept was so good. i love when the romance is not just “they want her,” but “they physically, emotionally, and violently need her.” the vampires needing her blood to keep their beasts from going feral made the bond feel dangerous instead of soft and cute, and that is where the book shines. it is not trying to be normal. thank god.
the fmc felt haunted in a way that made sense. she is not just randomly sad for aesthetics; death and survival are wrapped around her character. she feels exhausted by being alive, but then these monsters come in and make survival feel like something with teeth. messy? yes. healthy? absolutely not. entertaining? very much.
this is definitely for readers who like their romance dark, possessive, bloody, and monster-heavy. if you want polite vampires who ask nicely and respect personal space, baby, this is not your house. leave the premises.
ᝰ.ᐟ plot summary: after being marked by death and haunted by a past she cannot fully outrun, the heroine becomes the blood mate to a hive of vampire monsters. they are not soft, romantic vampires from pretty myths. they are beasts with fangs, instincts, and darkness living under their skin. they claim her as theirs, swear to protect her, and reveal that her blood may be the thing keeping them from going completely feral. what should feel like a warning starts to feel like belonging. surrounded by monsters who would spill blood for her, she must decide whether being claimed is another kind of cage—or the first time she has ever truly been chosen.

ᝰ.ᐟ characters:
𖣠 the blood mate ⤷ the death-touched girl she is wounded, tired, and carrying the kind of trauma that makes survival feel more like punishment than victory. but underneath all that pain is someone stubborn enough to stop running. i liked that she did not feel perfectly healed the second the monsters found her. she still felt messy, scared, angry, and guarded, which made the devotion hit harder.
꒰ 🖇 ⊹ ׁ݂“death touched her once. the monsters touched her back.”
𖣠 the vampire hive ⤷ the monsters these men are not “cute vampire boyfriend” coded. they are feral, dangerous, obsessive, and very much one bad decision away from violence. but the devotion? loud. bloody. unhinged. their whole dynamic is giving “we will burn the world down before we let anyone take you.”
꒰ 🖇 ⊹ ׁ݂“they did not love gently. they loved like a warning siren.”
𖣠 the beasts within ⤷ the hunger the monster side of the vampires made the story feel more intense because the threat was not only outside the relationship. it was inside them too. their devotion is romantic, yes, but it is also dangerous because their need for her is tied to hunger, blood, and control.
꒰ 🖇 ⊹ ׁ݂“their beasts wanted her blood. their hearts wanted everything else.”

ᝰ.ᐟ favorite scenes:
🖇️𖥻 [ the blood mate reveal ] the reveal that she is not just some random girl but a blood mate made the whole story click into place. it gave the romance stakes beyond attraction and made the connection feel darker, more primal, and way more dangerous.
🖇️𖥻 [ the protection scenes ] the “touch her and die” energy was doing what it needed to do. every time the vampires acted like her safety was not a request but a law, the book leaned fully into the fantasy.
🖇️𖥻 [ the feral moments ] the beast/feral side of the vampires gave the romance a sharp edge. i liked that their desire was not polished or pretty. it felt instinctive, messy, and a little terrifying.
🖇️𖥻 [ the hurt/comfort ] the emotional core worked best when the book let the heroine be tired, damaged, and still wanted. there is something very specific about a monster romance where the monsters are less afraid of her darkness than she is.
This is the first arc I have ever signed up. This is also is a little bit out of my genre wheel house with the fact she is with multiple men I am use to a love triangle or with one man. What drew me to it was the fact of that they are vampires and shifters. As well as me trying new genres of relationships. Enough about my part of what i'm used to and what draw me to it now up to the good parts.
So we open up with Sine we find out her back story. Her husband was killed by his brother over being jealous of the fact that he couldn't have her. While she is starting over She is a very feisty one , and when one of her bartenders gets harassed by a patron , she can't help but interfere. As this is ensuing, the guy pulls out a knife. And before he could attack her Kiron comes to save her. You find out he was there to watch over his brother and she's so happened to be there. You obviously then runs away and tells his alpha that is found someone help but feel something for her already.
So when he tells the alpha Nikolai he goes to his ex to find out how they can run into her. Because they think they found their blood mate. He then tricks her to go to a therapy session with the four guys. Kiron the guy she already met at the bar, Harlow his brother , him and Rafel. She finds us really weird because of the location of the group therapy. She meets all of them , it doesn't go well and then they leave and don't talk for a while. We find out her blood helps the vampire shifters not go mad.
I liked that there was multiple PO.Vs , so that way we can get everybody emotions and learn more about them. Here are some notes I have on the guys:
Harlow ( my favorite) is a fox shifter he has trama like she does this is why they work. Poor him had a bad experience from their last that was having him struggle. I loved in the scenes when she had no idea, it was him how she got close to the fox and shared her dirty secrets , not knowing it was him. He looks rough on the outside but he is a sweetheart.
Nikolai ( the beginning I was annoyed by him) he is a wolf he was stubborn as hell, he was the leader who wouldnt let himself go near her. He would lead her on then go away, even though it was his idea to get them all together. He acted like he had a stick up his ass. He ended up being probably the freakiest of them all. He still would not go near her even though his male partner told him plenty of times it was OK for him to have her too.
Kion ( he gets her first) he is a dragon who has a wild side owns a motorcycle and is the one that seemed to fall first. He is newly turned so he doesn't know how to keep his dragon in check. He tends to get jealous easy. My favorite part with him is when she takes him to her house and he sees the fox Harlow he acts mean to him by this point, she is unaware of the fact they are shifters and she tells the fox is the big vampire being mean.
Rafel (doesn't get as much time he should) he is a bear and the empath of the group his powers heightened when he turned. He is very shy and doesn't get much time with her. Reading emotions for him is hard for him so he tends to stay away. I love how he painted all her feelings onto paper who doesnt like an artsy man.
See what I mean great characters these guys all have great qualities. Once you get to know Nikolai you like him . He also has trama from their last blood mate which makes him stand off plus he doesn't want to loose his partner. Which spoiler alert is the reason why everything is in place. His partner was actually her therapist.
One of the things that was kind of threw me off maybe because I'm not used to reading this type stuff. Was the fact she was just straight okay with it. Like she had no hesitation unlike the one beforehand she's willing to just jump in. I didn't want her to totally be against it , but like at least some time to think. This isn't a bad thing just my opinion but ti doesn't effect my rating. It definitely has a quite a bit of spice here as well as lots things happening at one time sexually. It wasnt too much though it went with the plot and wasn't just thrown in to get thrown in. You also have to be ok with a bisexual man. Then we find out ex husband brother ended up being a shifter as well, and that is why he got killed. His brother got greedy. It looks like she's planning a second book and i'm all for it can't wait to read it. I also can't read until it comes out.So I can have it for my bookshelf. Really enjoyed it. It took me a day and a 1/2 to finish. I definitely recommend reading it.
This was a free arc read . These are my honest opinions.

I was sent this for free as a review copy and am leaving this review voluntarily. All opinions are my own.
This was a mixed read for me. There were elements I genuinely enjoyed, but also quite a few things that didn’t fully land.
First off, it definitely needs some editing and formatting work, but that’s not something I factor into my ratings for indie books. That said, the sentence structure did feel a little choppy in places, and there were repeated lines throughout that made me pause with a raised eyebrow. Some scenes also felt jumpy or disjointed, which made it confusing at times to follow what was actually happening and when.
I really appreciated how Sina’s trauma was handled by the vampires. There was clear care there, and it added depth to her character. However, I did feel like it missed some emotional beats in places that should’ve hit harder, which took away from the overall impact. Sina also never really seemed to question much and then when she did, it was immediately pushed aside because she still had the hots for them and that seemed to be all that mattered?
Now… my one real gripe. Nik putting his fingers in his brother’s mouth after they’d been where? And then cleaning up his brother’s… contribution… from Sina? That was more disturbing to me than any of the darker themes in this book. Let’s maybe keep the weird incest-adjacent energy firmly in Game of Thrones, please.
There were also a few moments where I found myself questioning the logistics — especially as a biker for that one scene? The positioning on a moving bike just isn’t physically possible. Thought it did make me laugh over how bizarre it was.
That said, it’s not all negative. The first chapter and the one about a third of the way in between Kiron and Harlow as a fox fighting over Sina were fantastic. They were genuinely 5 star moments, and I wish more of the book had captured that same energy.
I did enjoy the book overall, but around the halfway mark it started to drag. The balance between plot and spice felt off for me. There’s nothing wrong with a spicy book, but when it’s happening almost every other chapter and starts replacing plot progression, my interest dips a bit. By around the 300 page mark, it began to feel very repetitive.
The payoff with Kieth at the end was also a bit anticlimactic. This is someone who supposedly traumatised and terrified Sina for a decade, yet when it comes down to it and there’s a face off, he’s about as intimidating as a wet puddle and that’s before her mates even get involved. I was expecting something much more impactful and dramatic.
Overall, this hovered around a 4 star read for me initially, but the pacing issues, repetition, and some of the writing choices brought it down. There are definitely strong moments here, but as a whole, it didn’t quite come together for me. I won’t be continuing the series, but I do wish the author all the best with future work.
Advance Copy Review | Feral Devotion by Melissa Rene
Okay so this was my first ARC read and I was really excited going into it.
I ended up landing at a four star for this one. What really got me straight away was the author’s note. I was genuinely in my feelings before I even hit chapter one, and for me that’s a big deal. It set the tone for everything that followed.
This is such a different take on paranormal romance. You’ve got vampires with shifting abilities, which isn’t something I’ve personally read before, and I actually really enjoyed that twist. It gave the whole story a different feel compared to the usual paranormal books I pick up.
The why choose, blood mates, found family vibe really works here. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t completely sold on the “hive” idea at the beginning, but as the story went on and Sina became the centre of everything, it clicked. I liked that she felt like the anchor for them all rather than it just being about power.
The writing is super easy to read. It flows well, the pacing is steady, and I never felt confused about what was happening. It’s one of those books you can just fall into and keep turning the pages.
I also really appreciated how the heavier themes were handled. There are elements of domestic violence, sexual abuse, mental health, and suicide, and they’re written with care. Sina’s story in particular felt raw and emotional without being overwhelming.
This is definitely a spice heavy book, and if you love that, you’ll have a great time. The chemistry between the characters is strong and there’s a lot of tension, but what I also liked was the banter. There were genuinely funny moments that balanced everything out.
Harlow and Kiron were my favourites, no question. They had me the whole time. And Keith… someone needs to kick that man in the dick. I don’t think I’ve hated a character that quickly in a while.
Overall, this was a really enjoyable read. It’s different, it’s engaging, and it has a mix of spice, emotion, and character dynamics that a lot of readers will love. It might not be exactly what I usually gravitate towards, but I still had a great time with it and I’m really glad I picked it up
I am obsessed with Feral Devotion Blood Mated to Monsters: Book 1,
I Love a good reverse harem, but i don't really understand the dynamic between two of the MMC and the FMC,
Sometimes i became so frustrated with the push and pull of the one mmc and the fmc although it did make their relationship a little more interesting, it still didnt make sense as the dynamic between them didnt fit. It would have just been easy if the fmc was part of the pack but she was with just three of the mmc's.
There were flashback momens that could have rather been left for a later chapter as it would have left a little bit a suspense.
I also noticed that there were quiet a few blank pages between the chapters which I felt were not needed it felt like a unnecessary disruption.
I liked how after everything the Fmc had been through she is still strong and kept going, the only thing for me is that it would have been nice just to have a little background of her life story ( like if she had more flashbacks), then as she gets to know all the Mmcs the rest comes to light.
The spice was spicing in this book, there were quiet a few favorite scenes were i have have wanted to jump into the story as say yes please…🤤.
The personalities of the mmc's are really captivating,
You have the golden retriever type yet he also loves teasing the fmc as well as flirting with her every chance he gets, then there is the Alpha male who is very bossy yet has a soft side to him that he hides, there is the also the brooding possessive, touch her and die type.
You also have the Intellectual yet omega type vibes all the mmc wants to do is please and praise the fmc, im saving the best for last the big silent teddy bear type who is always calm before the storm hits.
I will mention that I thoroughly enjoyed this book and could not put it down i was really entranced by the flow of the story.
Hear me out. This book was by no means perfect but I ate it up. I read an Advance Reader Copy and it was a hot mess of typos and formatting issues. I really hope the author has it cleaned up for release. But the fact is this book was a good time, despite all of that. Sina has survived a near death after a terrible trauma which has changed her blood and made her very attractive to certain underworld creatures - unbeknownst to her. A year later she is hiding out from her former attacker in a small town when she meets a group of men she is instantly drawn to. The catch is that they are vampires who shift into magical creatures, one of them has a boyfriend and all of them have lied to her. But she is a real tough little thing so she doesn’t let that get in her way. I believe this is the authors first book and she shows so much potential. There are plenty of things I could pick at - the world building is a bit light on detail, the conflict between Sina and her Alpha becomes a little repetitive and the final conflict doesn’t land quite as dramatically as I’d have like. But the vibe of this book is great. The characters are all appealing. Sina is a ballsy little firecracker with a funny internal monologue and a sweet side that just wants to belong. Her mates are a great range of broody, wounded men, with of course the one unhinged funny one. I liked how the author let her have time with each of the men and build the individual relationships as well as the group as a whole. Plus the big twist/character reveal was a genuine surprise that really contributed to the conflict and tension. And to answer the eternal question of “is it spicy”? Yes. Pretty darn spicy but not in a way that is detrimental to the plot. I’d like to thank author Melissa Renea for the chance to read and review an ARC of this book. I can’t wait for the next one.
Really enjoyed this style of paranormal romance, where the vampires are actually shifters. Normally in the lore they are either one or the other, but not combined, and it was nice to have this woven through the story.
We are introduced to Sina, who has suffered abuse from the hand of her former husband, and she’s finally starting to live a little, and it’s a very small little. She had been attending regular therapy sessions, started working at a bar, made friends with the other server and the owner of the bar. She even has a small apartment, that she can call her own, but shes plagued by horrific nightmares.
One night at the bar Sina has decided that stepping up to help her friend is the best thing to do against a group of unruly patrons, but even with her determination she isn’t a match for them, but when a tall built like sin man comes to her rescue then its all over. She’s introduced to Kiron, and he now has decided that she is his, but shes not having it.
Sina has now decided that because her therapist has left, and given her an opportunity to join a new therapy group she should take up the offer, nightmares are getting worse, and shes terrified of her past. The new therapy group isn’t what she expected, shes introduced to 3 more people (Rafael, Harlow and Nikolai). Nikolai is pretending to be her new therapist, and the other guys are part of the group.
After some back and forth between the characters, and some really cute banter, Sina learns what she is, how she plays a role in the group and how/what the guys truly are.
While I loved the quirky personalities of many of the characters, this book contained an extreme amount of typos, misspelled words, incomplete sentences, and missing words to whole sentences and scenes.
There were many times I had to re-read sentences because I couldn't understand what the author was trying to say.
I would describe this book as a longer erotica and not so much a fantasy romance due to the plot surrounding mostly sex and only a little back story.
It was also odd that the heroine of this story was whinny and then in the next scene change into a strong-willed female character, constantly back and forth.
There was also no time to emotionally build in any of the scenes (male or female) as they would fly through about fifteen emotions within the span of five paragraphs.
There were many times that I almost DNF'd this book, I'm not even sure an editor looked at this book due to the sheer amount of typos in and of themselves.
I really feel like this book could have gotten there if the author would have locked down on the emotional scenes and took us through each emotion one by one instead of every emotion coming out every other sentence.
I had the pleasure of being an ARC reader for this new series!
This book was a wild mix of claws, fangs, chaos… and surprisingly heartfelt moments. Feral Devotion throws you straight into a world of vampires, monsters, and bonded devotion, with an FMC tied to a whole group of dangerous beings who slowly become her family, her protectors, and her source of strength.
Now—I’ll be honest. The sharing/reverse harem aspect isn’t usually my thing. I tend to get emotionally attached to one MMC, so having five or six bonded to the FMC wasn’t my favorite dynamic personally. BUT. What really worked for me was the plot and the emotional core beneath all the monster chaos. The story shines most in the FMC’s growth and the way she slowly finds power, safety, and belonging through this strange found family of creatures. And honestly? That emotional support system gave the story a lot more heart than I expected.
The monsters each bring something different to the table, and while the romance dynamic wasn’t fully my taste, I still appreciated the way the bonds strengthened her instead of diminishing her individuality.
Verdict: 🖤 Vampires and monsters done in a fun, chaotic way 🖤 Strong found-family themes 🖤 FMC growth through connection and support 🖤 Reverse harem dynamic may not work for everyone
Not my usual romance setup, but the emotional depth and monster-family energy definitely kept me invested. There’s something beautiful about finding strength in the very things meant to terrify you.
Trauma and secrets, leading to love, found family and a lot of hanky panky!
I couldn’t get enough of this book. Plenty of drama, an edge of danger lurking throughout, lots of secrets…and plenty of SMUT!
Starts of strong, inviting intrigue from the prologue. The guys aren’t conventional vampires, but shifter vamps which initially threw me but was an interesting twist…the only other time I’ve read anything with a similar twist was The Vampire Diaries.
First chapters show there’s always been danger in Sinas life and she’s running from abuse. There’s also a lot of mystery around the hives past. Plenty of secrets unfold throughout the book, with sensitive topics like abuse and attempted suicide handled with care. Although it does take a while for the guys to be honest with Sina about who and what they are, and in the end she works it out herself and is understandably annoyed and hurt that they didn’t share it all with her.
There were early suspicions that Keith is a vampire shifter too, so that reveal doesn’t come as a surprise…unlike the true identity of Elias!
There are tense moments, particularly when the guys realise Sina is a blood mate and they all want to claim her. But they all have a need to protect her, particularly when they find out about her past, and have the showdown with Keith.
It’s not all tense though, there are funny moments both between the characters and in their own monologues. Such as this from Sinas POV “Oh goodie. Even my inner bitch was keeping score.”
I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

ARC Reading The brain cell has left the chat. This is how I felt when it came to main character, Sina. A lot of her choices are questionable. Yes this is a dark romance with vampire shifters. Yes the main character will always end up accepting things , typically. Though it seemed like the brain cell she has doesn't work properly or is infected with the community hive brain cell. I thought the concept of vampire shifters was interesting. Typically the two are separate entities. Vampires or shifters, rather as being both. I did like this concept. I do not mind spice, but when it feels like the plot doesn't really exist and it is just some cheap porno. It is a little bit too much. These scenes seemed to consist of a large majority of the book , going through multiple chapters at a time. Yes given it was different POVs of such, but still. It was excessive and the 500+ page book could have been half of this without the overly horny rabbit hive. The book gave off Diabolik Lovers vibes. It had its interesting moments, though I feel like the balance of plot verses rabbit scenes was largely unbalanced. A lot was skimmed, as once I was on what felt like chapter twenty of a smut scene I just couldn't get myself to fully read the scenes out. So content might have been skipped by skimming through the 'rabbit scenes' Concept could have been much better without so much horny mate mentality.
4⭐️ I received this ARC from BookSirens. All opinions are completely my own.
I've never had this much fun reading a book before!!! For an almost 600 page book, I finished it in 2 days. I genuinely couldn't put it down. Is it an amazing book? No. Did I have fun? Absolutely!
I've never read anything like this before, and now I fear I need to read more immediately. While some parts were a little cringy, I honestly didn't mind too much. The story had me completely hooked from start to finish, and I was never bored for a single moment.
I'm also very pleased that I genuinely liked all five MMCs. When I read why choose romances, I usually end up having a favorite, but this is one of the few times I liked them all equally. Each of them brought something different to the story, and I found myself rooting for all of them.
The romance and chemistry were insane!! And don't even get me started on the smut... 😮💨
What I loved most was that I could genuinely feel the love they all had for each other. With five MMCs, I expected to have favorites or feel like some of them got more attention than others, but somehow the author made me fall in love with every single one. Everyone had their moment to shine, and no one felt overlooked.
UGH, I'm actually unwell. I love them so much and need book 2 immediately! Overall, I had an extremely fun time reading this and I totally recommend!!!
"Mine. My mates. My monsters." "Call me selfish. Call me greedy. I didn’t care. I wanted all five of my mates’ bites across my throat like a fucked-up claiming necklace."
Feral Devotion is a story about survival, fighting pain and darkness and finding the ones who complete your soul.
I loved Sina's character,so broken and damaged but a survivor finding her inner strenght.
Nic is the alpha of their hive, dominant and stoic, fighting to keep the hive whole even with his past traumas.
Kiron the vampire/dragon that falls for her with one look.
Rafe, the empath vampire/bear who soothes her pain.
Harlow the sexy tattoed vampire/white fox with equal parts of mischief and unhingedness.
And Elias,vampire/crow is sweet and submissive and brings a plot twist that I really didn't see coming.
Melissa Renae is a daring lady, the idea of vampires that are also shifters and live within a hive weird me a bit but it works . The author knew how to keep me in a total engagement with a blend of dark romance, scorching hot steamy scenes, danger, twisted villains and a dash of humor. Well written with good world building and unexpected twists ,this story gave me all the feels and I highly recomend.
This book needs some major edits. The plot is strung along with not much explanation or reason. The main character questions absolutely nothing and is just along for the ride. Actually it appears all the characters are along for the ride. None of their motivations make any sense (if they even exist). It feels like a bunch of scenes the author wanted to write that were thrown together without any thought as to why they would be happening. It is an entertaining read but poorly written.
There were so many times that I was just left truly confused. Why is she mad? Why is she suddenly fine? How did he draw that conclusion out of literally nothing? All conflict seems to be resolved with a quick.. well I still like you so it’s fine
This book would benefit from SEVERAL more edits both for content, clarity, and grammar. Characters contradict themselves within the same paragraph and tulips at the beginning of the book are now lilies at the end.
The ending was super anticlimactic. I didn’t even really want to read the epilogue. I was ready for it to be done.

🐺 Mixed Shifter vampires 🖤 Brave FMC 🌶 DVP 👀 Compulsion Kink 💀 Touch her and no longer exist 🚩 Red flags are green 🩸 Unique twist 🔥 Good mix of MMCS
Firstly, the authors story on how this world was created was truly inspiring. Thank you for the chance to ARC this book.
I absolutely devour all kinds of books. This was truly a unique take on alot of tropes I love. Shifters check, Vampires check, new kinks check, and even the take that comes from the change of blood was super neat.
Some of the hive are all in right away and some have some major walls to let down. The chaos junkie that is Harlow was my favorite. You have the soft empathetic Rafe who just wants to help everyone. Kiron is a man who wants to be loved and happy after his life has changed. Nik is a dominant alpha who already has a relationship but wants Sina. The push and pull is tough with him and Sina. Elias is a smart man who factors in more later on.
This is a story of healing for all in involved. It was amusing to see how the beast side of each of them reacted to Sina and I hope to see more in this world in the future.
I was excited for this book because hello, vampires? Multiple vampires? Yes please!
The story and premise were definitely unique, and I appreciated that. The guys were hot - each one very different, but hot. Unfortunately this is the most praise I am able to muster. We really needed ANY backstory for the MMCs, like seriously just a crumb of personality and what makes them THEM. Where did they come from? Why is this world the way that it is? What are the rules, the hierachys? I did not find the FMC insufferable as often as they can be in romantasy worlds, however I almost believed vampires were just a common run-of-the-mill occurence when she had 0 reaction to discovering they exist. That was odd. I couldn't tell you much about the setting itself, so essentially we were severely lacking on world building and character development.
If you're just here for the smutty smut, then even that was about a 3.5/5. Possibly a good read for fans of Amy Pennza who especially liked her The Dragon Lairds series.

Feral Devotion by Melissa Renae was such an addictive read. This is definitely an 18+ dark paranormal romance, so check trigger warnings before diving in.
One blood mate. Five vampire shifters. And a strong FMC carrying a deeply traumatizing past.
Melissa Renae did an amazing job portraying trauma and the ways it can shape a person — the self-sabotage, low self-worth, pushing people away before they can hurt you first. It felt emotional and believable instead of glossed over.
One of my favorite aspects of the book was how it highlighted the impact a support system can have while navigating trauma and healing. I also loved watching the growth within the entire group as they slowly realized they weren’t just finding one missing piece — they were all each other’s missing pieces. The relationships and emotional development kept me hooked just as much as the romance did.
Dark, emotional, spicy, and full of found-family energy. I’m definitely looking forward to book 2.
This was a good time. That said - I have some... slivers. Things that got under my skin and I couldn't let go. The balance is off, the world/character/plot/relationship building is massively unbalanced and you can tell. 2 of the characters felt flat and 2 dimensional. Like they were just... there. They had rolls and large ones to the plot but they felt unfinished. The villain also fell flat for me as the ending felt rushed with additional spice that was not important to the relationship development. The relationship of 2 of the characters felt forced due to the plot line, and beings that he is one of the characters that fell a little short of expectation - I was hoping for more relationship building toward the end instead of spice. Things to note - this does need another round of grammatic edits, some scenes feel choppy due to these errors. Overall : I did enjoy this book, I loved the general idea even if some of the execution fell a little short. So still a 4 star read for me.
This was my first time reading something with vampire–shifter hybrids, and I didn’t expect to like it this much… but I was hooked. Its so different in the best way possible!!
I really liked the whole hive dynamic,it felt different and kind of intense in a good way. Having multiple POVs made it even better because you actually understand each of them, not just the main relationship. And the bond? Wow!! It’s not just attraction, it feels deeper, almost like they’re all connected in a way that makes sense for the story.
I didn’t feel overwhelmed by the number of characters like I thought I would. Instead, I got attached… especially to certain ones 👀
Overall, it was such an easy, addictive read for me. Definitely something I’d pick up again, and now I’m kinda into this whole vampire–shifter type. Can't wait for more!

The story kept me hooked from the start to finish with enough twists and turns. Loved the banter and humor between characters. The spicy scenes were chefs kiss 🤌🏼🌶️🔥 I was so turned on while reading them 🥹
I love vampires and shifters so what's better than to have vampire-shifters and so many of them! 🤩 But Harlow stole my heart 🥺🤍 I would love to have my own little furball Ghost 🤍
Atm the book needs one more round of editing. There was one chapter twice in a row, once it was mentioned that Harlow has a wolf rather than a fox inside him, and several typos here and there throughout the book — but these did not take away my experience with the book ❤️
ARC Review—From Author Star Rating: 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pub Date: June 6th, 2026 Book One of Blood Mated to Monsters Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Format: Digital
This was a very in depth character driven story. Why choose paranormal shifter romance. We follow Sina the FMC and the guys she comes across has POV’s in the story. Harlow, Rafe, Kiron, Nikolai and Elias. I really liked the story a lot. Sina had a really fire attitude and she her relationships with each guy is very different. So spicy and raunchy scenes I loved that! But it wasn’t just mindless spice it was deep and I love a vampire/shifter romance. Sina has a traumatic past with her dead husband and the character Keith keeps haunting her. When she came across the guys they will do anything to protect her and they did. This is book one of Blood Mated to Monsters. The only thing that I was kinda off put by at first was the length but it didn’t affect me at all cause I loved these characters so much I could read their stuff for days!
This book follows Sina and her five vampire mates, and there was a lot I enjoyed about it, though a few things felt a little off to me.
One of my favorite aspects was that the vampires were also shifters, which is something I don’t come across often. It added a unique twist to the story and made the world more interesting. I also loved how protective the MMC’s were towards Sina.
That said I wish the male characters have been given more backstory. It was a bit difficult to fully connect with them because they lacked some depth and development. I was also surprised by how quickly Sina accepted the fact that they were vampires - her reaction felt a little too casual for such a revelation. 😅
Overall, the plot was engaging and the spice definitely delivered. 🥵 I’m excited to see where the story goes in the next book!

Feral Devotion was like getting wrapped in velvet and fangs at the same time. Melissa Renae delivered a deliciously dark paranormal romance packed with possessive vampire hybrids, chaotic feral energy, and a heroine whose pain felt heartbreakingly real. The monsters in this book? Absolutely unhinged in the best way. Protective, obsessed, touch-her-and-die levels of devoted, yet each of them still had distinct personalities that made the why-choose dynamic work. I especially loved how the story balanced the darker themes with moments of humor, comfort, and found family warmth hidden beneath all the claws and bloodlust. The trauma-healing elements gave the romance emotional weight, and watching the FMC slowly stop surviving and start feeling wanted was honestly the strongest part of the book for me. The chemistry was intense, the feral moments were chef’s-kiss chaotic, and the emotional bonds kept me hooked.
I have read sooooooo many paranormal/fantasy romances. The plot lines all start blurring together and I don’t even know what I’ve read at this point. That being said, this one hit different. The plot outside of the romance could probably have done with a little more development. I’m just so relieved to see a new view on shifters and vampires. It is really refreshing.
For those who are hardcore spice readers, it’s probably a moderate to high. It lives more in the dominance realm than other spice types. For those who aren’t heavy spice readers, it’s a why choose. What do you expect?
Overall, I found this read ranking highly in my list. I would read again. I highly suggest this one for those in a why choose fantasy rut. It can be read as a standalone and it’s an easy read. Why not give it a try?

I’ll admit, the sheer size of Feral Devotion was a bit intimidating at first, but the gorgeous cover art kept calling to me—and I am so glad I listened. From page one, the writing style just clicked. I actually found myself getting anxious checking the page count because the characters were so vivid and the story was so gripping that I didn't want it to end!
This isn't just another shifter story; it’s a raw, heavy journey that tackles suicide awareness and deep-seated trauma with incredible heart. I highly recommend reading the author’s touching foreword and checking the trigger warnings, as the FMC's struggle with self-sabotage and her past feels painfully real. Seeing her navigate that while finding a "Hive" that actually sees her was moving and deeply emotional.
The world-building—a fresh blend of vampires and shifters—is brought to life by an expansive cast of characters who each possess a distinct, memorable personality. A few highlights for me included: • Rafe: The "gentle giant" who absolutely had me in a chokehold (I honestly needed even more of him!). • Harlow’s Fox: The most protective, cuddly highlight of the book. • Nik: Giving off major Nanami from JJK vibes—that specific brand of self-punishing, competent "asshole" energy.
The inclusion of modern text message inserts made the dialogue feel incredibly current, and the narrative kept me on my toes with several massive twists. The revelation regarding Dr. Bloom and the final member of the hive was a total "wow" moment. Between the "who hurt you" tropes and a climactic fight scene that had my heart literally pounding out of my chest, this book was a total emotional rollercoaster.
I’m sad it’s over, but so satisfied with how it wrapped up. Feral Devotion is an imaginative, high-stakes ride, and I’m already dying to see what happens in book two!
I really enjoyed this story! While it may not have been the most unique plot, the characters were really fun to experience. There were some parts of the book where I thought the FMC brushed over too quickly, or accepted too easily. I really enjoyed the different dynamics the guys had with her, especially with Rafe. Thought the dynamic with Elias felt rushed, and because we didn't get much context or background with her and her therapist's past the plot twist didn't really click or feel surprising to me. The ending was superrr abrupt to me. Would've appreciated a little more time to experience Sina's dynamics with her newly formed "hive".

Why choose a man when you can have multiple monsters who would do anything to keep you safe? 👀
Melissa Renae, what a book this was! Ill be honest, this was VERY different to the spice I'm used to, but did it stop me? Absolutely bloody not 😅🫣
It may be spicy (like, on a whole new level) but it's NOT just pure smut... We have a storyline, we have plot twists, and I HAD to know where this all went!
Tropes; ❤️🔥MMFMMM spice ⭐ Multiple POV 🤫 Hidden world ❤️🩹 Trauma AND healing 👀 Stalking elements 🧛🏻♀️ Vampire-shifters
‼️ Always check the trigger warnings and make sure this book is the one for you before starting, because the list in here is LOONGGG 😂
One of the longer books I’ve read in a year or so and I was if at first cause it started with her being self destructive but as the story moved I understood why, and I related to her, the story paints a good picture of how she met kiron and then is slid slowly into place of meeting each hive member, I e read similar story lines but this one had a nice twist with the vampire shifters, and how they were before the change determined their beast, each character was a standard character outline you’d expect but each was no less enjoyable because it was written well, I would recommend to other and look forward to your next piece I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
