This book feels calm and comforting from the very first page.
Reading it felt like sitting quietly with my own thoughts and understanding emotions that are often hard to explain.
It talks about peace, self-acceptance, healing, and finding strength during difficult times.

What I liked most was how the book reminds us that life is full of ups and downs, but peace can still be found within ourselves.
Many parts made me stop and think about my own life, my struggles, and the importance of staying balanced even when things feel uncertain.
The message of finding calmness in chaos is very beautifully shown throughout the book.

The title itself fits perfectly because the book truly feels like a place where the soul can rest.
The idea of equanimity is explained in a way that feels real and relatable.
It shows how important it is to stay steady, accept what life brings, and keep moving forward with hope.

The dragonfly on the cover also adds meaning to the book. It reflects change, growth, and transformation, which connect deeply with what the book talks about.

This book felt very genuine and thoughtful. It is not just something to read quickly and move on from.

It is the kind of book that makes you pause, reflect, and connect with yourself. Some parts especially made me think about inner peace and how often we search for it outside, when it is actually within us.

Overall, it is a warm and meaningful read. I would recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, peace, and gentle reminders about life and self-growth.

Reading Equanimity: Where My Soul Rests by Garima felt like entering a very personal and emotional space. This poetry collection has a quiet honesty that stayed with me even after I finished reading it. The poems gently talk about vulnerability, self-discovery, pain, healing, faith, and emotional strength, making the book feel both comforting and deeply personal.

The emotions never felt forced or overly dramatic. Instead, the poems spoke in a calm and sincere voice that made them relatable. Some pieces explore overthinking and uncertainty, while others focus on inner peace, hope, and acceptance. I found myself pausing often to reflect on certain lines because they mirrored emotions many of us silently carry within ourselves.
The collection also beautifully balances darkness and light. Even in moments of sadness or confusion, there is always a gentle sense of healing woven into the writing. That emotional balance made the book feel reassuring rather than heavy. I especially admired how the poet transforms ordinary feelings and lived experiences into thoughtful verses that feel universal.

Overall, this collection felt calming, thoughtful, and emotionally honest. It is not a book to read quickly; it is meant to be read slowly and quietly. I would recommend it to readers who enjoy reflective poetry about emotions, self-awareness, and finding inner peace.

I don’t usually pick up poetry collections on a whim, but something about the title Equanimity and the content made me stop and think. And honestly? I’m so glad I did.

This is Garima’s debut collection, and it moves beautifully, some poems are almost playful, while others feel deeply personal, like she’s handing you a piece of her own diary. That contrast is what makes this book so real. It doesn’t pretend that finding peace is easy. It sits with you in the hard parts first.

What I loved most is how relatable every page felt. Garima writes with a quiet honesty that doesn’t try too hard, no overloaded metaphors, no trying to sound poetic for the sake of it, just genuine feeling, expressed simply and beautifully. For example Morning Still in Bed -it captures that soft, unhurried magic of a slow morning so perfectly, the wish for time to just pause. And then there’s a poem about overeating at a buffet that made me genuinely laugh out loud -so silly, so human, so us.

The whole collection feels like it was written for people still finding their voice those trying to understand their own emotions, to feel seen, and to slowly rediscover peace, resilience, and faith in their own journey.

If you’re going through something or even if you’re not, this book has a way of settling something inside you.

Nobody told me a poetry collection could feel this much like coming home.
The author writes like she's sitting across from you - not performing, not impressing, just sharing. There's an intimacy to these poems that feels rare, especially for a first collection. Nothing feels forced or overly crafted. It feels like someone finally saying out loud what they'd been quietly carrying for years.

What really amazed me was the range. This collection doesn't settle into one mood and stay there comfortably. It moves - from playful to deeply personal, from light to shadow, sometimes within the same page. That emotional honesty kept me genuinely engaged throughout.

The title stayed with me long before I finished reading. Equanimity. Not loud joy. Not dramatic healing. Just that quiet, steady place where you finally feel okay within yourself. Garima understands that feeling deeply - and somehow makes you feel it too.

Some lines I returned to simply because they described something I had carried for years without ever finding the right words for it. That's the highest compliment I can give any poet - the ability to name what you didn't know needed naming.

Read it slowly, on a quiet evening, with nothing else demanding your attention. You'll want to be fully present for this one.
A gentle, honest, deeply human debut.

Equanimity by Garima is a poetry collection that feels deeply personal reflective and emotionally honest. From the very first poem you feel as though you are stepping into a space where vulnerability, healing, love and self discovery co-exists without judgment.

What I enjoyed the most about this book is its simplicity. The poems don't rely on complicated language or elaborate metaphors instead they connect through genuine emotions and relatable experiences. Whether it's about hope, heartbreak, resilience or finding peace within oneself, the words feel sincere and heartfelt.

The two poems I really love from the book are 'She' and 'Aging Skin, Maturing Heart'. These particularly stayed with me as they celebrate growth, inner strength and the beauty of embracing every stage of life. I found myself pausing often to reflect on certain lines because they echoed feelings many of us quietly carry.

Overall this is a very thoughtful and uplifting collection of poems that gently reminds us to embrace our emotions, honour our journeys and find peace within ourselves. It's not a book to rush through but is to be enjoyed slowly allowing the poems to settle and reveal its meaning over time. It left me feeling lighter, calmer and grateful for the reminder that there is beauty in both healing and becoming🕊️

This is a collection of poems by a debut author which feels personal and honest.

The poems talk about a variety of themes. From self discovery, musings, the sense of belonging, companionship to some random reflections about life, this book explores them all. Each poem is emotional and raw. There is an innate simplicity in the verses which makes them impactful.

While some poems express longing and aspirations, others symbolize acceptance and the inner strength to move on. The thoughts flow without any obstacle and express the thoughts of the author in an unfiltered manner.

The author has used plain language to put down her thoughts and feelings which makes the content relatable. There is a freedom in the writing and it is not bound by any rules of poetry.

The verses have a balance between peace and chaos , calmness and curiosity. The lines are short and come straight from the inner depth of the author.

This collection is for those who want their inner conundrums heard, who want to share their deepest thoughts without being judged. This is a debut work of the author but she has displayed a great prowess to use words to express that which is usually left unspoken.

Equanimity felt like a soft, comforting pause in the middle of a busy day. It’s one of those poetry collections that doesn’t try too hard, yet quietly reaches your heart. Garima’s writing is simple, honest, and deeply personal, making it very easy to connect with.

I loved how the poems move between light and heavy emotions so naturally. Some made me smile, while others made me sit quietly and reflect. My favourites: He Never Doubted Why, Poetic Wavelength, and Soul Dance were especially beautiful. They carry a sense of calm, love, and understanding that stays with you.

What makes this book special is how real it feels. There’s no overcomplication, just pure emotions written in a gentle way. It feels like the author is talking to you, helping you understand your own feelings better.

This collection doesn’t rush you towards answers. Instead, it sits with you in your thoughts and lets you find your own peace.

Equanimity is warm, soothing, and quietly powerful, a lovely read for anyone seeking comfort and emotional connection
