I don't spend much time picking books apart, I either enjoy them or I don't, and The Omaha Variable by Dust N. Burst landed somewhere in the middle. It had a few ideas that caught my attention right away, and there were enough interesting moments that I wanted to see where the story was going. But I kept feeling like something was missing. I never really cared about the characters, and some parts dragged more than they needed to. I did finish it because I was curious about the ending, so I don't regret reading it, but it wasn't the kind of book I'd tell a friend they absolutely have to pick up.
