Lola is a book lover with a *slight* romance obsession and a passion for love. Especially love between sassy women and huge, growly magical men ;)
When she's not reading or writing up a storm, she's hanging out with her husband and three kids, or baking something sugary that she *probably* shouldn't eat (but will).
A guide to her books can be found on her website. All of her series can be read entirely on their own, so there's no necessary reading order.
So, I liked the story, it was relatively drama-free and pretty much 100% fluff. I see why the previous and abandoned (thank god) decision for Jonah as a male lead was a bit of a problem and basically just one unnecessary obstacle more for Niall and Liv to their HEA. Honestly, this could've been a much shorter novella and I wouldn't have missed a thing. Those two are obviously in love with each other from the beginning and this could've been solved with a simple conversation. instead the "is Jonah her mate?" (we all know the answer) or "let's bargain and find out if we are mates" (the answer is in the series title) questions were stretched because Liv is scared. It's still a super cute story, Niall is obsessed with her and was never interested in another woman during the separation.
✨ I definitely enjoyed this one more than the first. The chemistry between Niall and Livvy was simply exquisite 💫. Every moment of their connection captivated me, and I adored the way Niall treats her. with care, with love, with that perfect mix of tenderness and possessiveness ❤️🔥. He gave us everything we dream of in a man. .
Three tepid stars there was potential here but the read was juat misaing somwthing.
Really wish the FLs belief that the douchebag was her fated mate had been ended after a chapter or two. I'd also like to see him get some karma for using her.
"You're mine, and I'm yours," Niall said against my lips. "That's what we are."
I'm genuinely surprised I loved this book when I merely liked the first one. Although I'll always love Callum regardless. 😊
This book overall was better and more interesting for me. I also liked Liv far more than I expected. I absolutely adored Niall! That man was legit GONE for Liv and was their number one supporter. He was serious af when it came to knowing Liv was his. Nothing shook his belief they were fated and even if they weren't he knew without a doubt she was his and he was hers.
I felt for both of them. I loved that we explored how their past hurt Niall as well and not just Liv's side. He lost his entire world when they broke up and he had been put in an awful situation anyway when left with choosing between the woman he loved and his twin brother and best friend. It sucked all around lets be real. But what really upset me on Niall's behalf was when he expressed how painful it was for him that Liv never attempted to bargain with him to see if he was her mate, therefore assuming Liv never considered he might be despite their insane connection and love for one another.
I just wanted to hug him so much after that because yeah, I got it. Coming back into her life and being told she found her fated mate and it isn't you? Awful. Realizing her suspected fated mate is in love with his ex-fiance and not interested at all in the woman you love? Also crap but a bit of a relief. And then to realize why she came to the conclusion that Jonah might be her mate? Ouch. He had every right to be upset and hurt by that.
But I do understand why Liv avoided bargaining with him too. She didn't want to lose him if he wasn't really hers. And I think it might've been really hard for her to separate her anxiety and panic over the possibility of losing him to see how perfect he truly was for her and how he handled her magic and quirks with such ease too. Maybe she would've felt as confident as Niall if not for the burden of her magical anxiety driving her crazy. Who knows.
Either way Niall was an absolute babe. Liv felt more relatable than Kat in the first book for me. I still loved her dynamic with the other fae crew and especially her bond her bestie Callum. Their relationship is something special.
I do wish we had got them as mates a bit earlier in the book tbh. But I get why it was saved for near the end.
And I'm so so happy Lola couldn't finish the first version with Jonah as the MMC. Because ya know? Jonah sucked ass tbh and was incredibly boring and even with Lola's talent I doubt she could have saved him to make him worthy or ideal for our girl Liv.
It was always meant to be Niall and Liv.
I cannot wait for Mer and Dares stories. *grabby hands*
I am going to start off with I am so damn happy that Lola did not go with Liv and Jonah. That is no match because Liv and Niall are perfection together. Niall put Liv on a pedestal and adored her treating her like the queen she is. He is exactly what Liv needed and I am so happy they got their happily ever after.
Lola wrote this story filled with heartfelt emotion and second chances. Liv and Niall have old wounds that need mending but through it all their connection is still palpable. Their love story was intense and emotional mixed with red hot spice.
Gwen and Jonah could fall off a cliff and I’d be happy. The way they played Liv was heartbreaking and opened old wounds but Niall was there to lift her up and it only made their second chance that more memorable.
I love this world Lol has created with intriguing characters and fated mates. It’s aa fast paced story that will give you all the feels. There’s not much angst but a little drama and spice and a whole lot of romance weaved together with the paranormal. I can’t wait for more.
These are my guilty pleasure books and I always have a good time! Not much to say really. Loved Liv. Loved Niall. Loved how sure he was that they were meant to be. I mean how could she even think Jonah was suppose to be her mate when Niall was right there. Ugh. Anyways it was a quick read for me and I will definitely be reading the rest in the series. Lola glass does Mate series like no other.
Ps Abby probably not your cup of tea. But you’ve requested reviews from me. 🤷🏼♀️

Pretty Little mate de Lola Glass serie Fated Mate Bonds libro 2
Argumento:
I’m absolutely in love with the direction this story took. A second chance romance where our FMC believes herself to be fated mates to the wolf beta but fighting feelings for her last and deepest love, a shapeshifter (yes it’s different than the wolf). Always down for a Lola Glass paranormal romance and this book, heck this series, was yet another great one. Looking forward to seeing what’ll be in store for our fae queen of autumn now that winter and spring have found their fated romances.
I didn’t hate the love story but I did hate how Jonah turned out. He could have been her actually friend and not just used her. Just don’t sit right with me
I struggled with this one because overall I did like the book and Liv and Niall were definitely meant to be. My opinion on this is prefaced by the fact that I don't usually pick up second-chance romance books because I prefer faithful-after-meeting situations which is generally not happening in those types of stories. As we all know if we read the previous book, this couple is not faithful-after-meeting, which is just my own personal point of contention in this book especially because they were still in love with each other the entire time. That being said, the author does include an afterword about how they originally wrote the book with Jonah as the love interest and changed it to Niall after it didn't work, so I like to believe she would have kept them faithful-after-meeting if Niall was the intended love interest from the beginning. Alas, that was not the case and it did kind of impact my opinion of Liv especially since she admitted that she was probably being unfair with her expectations of Niall when she broke up with him in the first place but then gave him crap because he was upset she had been with someone else while she was still in love with him. My other pet peeve with second-chance romance is that there is always just so much wasted time and the reason behind it is usually stupid. This pretty much held true here as well. He told her he was never risking her and knew she would be okay and she just chose not to believe him. And she refused to find out if they were mates the entire time they were together just because she was scared. And ended up losing him anyway because she wasn't brave enough to find out for sure. Liv was just a truly perfect example of endless self-sabotage and Niall was just ridiculously perfect all the time. And Jonah and Gwen still suck and I wish Kat would stand up for everyone and tell them off once and for all. 3 stars, probably would've been 4 if there was less Gwen and Jonah stuff and Liv got her crap together sooner. Tried not to let my own personal feelings on second-chance romance affect the rating, but there was too much Jonah and jealousy and talk about being with other people to fully keep it separate. Overall, for someone that doesn't typically like this type of story I was still able to find it enjoyable but am looking forward to brand new romances with the rest of the series.
The following opinion will give a smidge of a SPOILER.
Before I say what I’m going to say, let. me. just. SAY: This was the first time, after reading a cliffhanger, I’d ever approached a book in a series from an author I love with the discomfort of uncurling dread. Pretty Little Wolf, book 1, honestly had me wondering if I could stomach what was coming. I thought it strange I was already main character distressed for Liv. Odd even, to be so troubled that Jonah wasn’t the right fit for Liv, before I’d even cracked the ebook open. To be honest, if Jonah could love someone as self-serving as Gwen, how could he be strong enough or man enough for our vibrant Liv?? That’s why the cliffhanger felt so triggering—after all, there’s a fated bond waiting to be completed. But to whom? I just knew, if it was Jonah, it was . . . wrong. Pathetic, right?! I remembered something. One of the many great writing traits I can count on from Lola Glass: she writes her characters so well fleshed, I always walk away feeling I know them as well as if they’d walked off the page. So, I couldn’t help but feel familiar to Liv already. Nor could I help having strong opinions about who she deserved, OR who was and/or wasn’t good enough for her. I was merely following the crumbs the author cleverly sprinkled for us to find. Very, very clever. I followed those crumbs without conscious thought. The signs were NEON . . . I devoured this well written book, loveLoveLOVED it—just like every other Lola Glass book I have E V E R read. Merrily and Dare are up next! *** Recommended ***
Let me just start by saying Jonah and Gwen are both selfish, manipulative, disgusting pieces of trash, and they deserve each other. And I don't mean that in a good-for-them way. I hope something terrible happens to them by the end of the series like they break up permanently, one or both lose their position(s), or something equivalent for the way they treated Kat and Liv
Okay, that out of the way, I loved everything about Liv and Niall's relationship, but I don't know what more to say about it without spoilers. Which, arguably, this review already has a few implied ones, so let's move on
Kat and Callum were as adorable as ever. I can't wait to read Merrily's story next. It'll be nice (maybe?) to get to know Grayson better. You know, compare to the hardly-at-all from this book and the first book. Also, fingers crossed to see more of The Wraith because that's a fun character
And Darius. I feel like the next book's gonna be hard on him, and that makes me sad, but I'm trusting Lola to give him a perfect-for-him HEA too
Well, I feel like this review doesn't really say as much about the book as I want to, (seriously, it's so good, and I even cried a couple times because of emotional issues) but I'm pretty sure anything and everything I REALLY want to mention is a spoiler, so just trust me, an internet stranger, and read the book, please. It's even a relatively short read, so what o you have to lose other than a few hours? Seriously, I started this book a bit over 12 hours ago, and, even with "life stuff" going on, finished it the same day.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This author has some issues with consistency book to book through her series. Her most consistent trend seems to be tweaking her own lore and character history. Really I should not have been surprised but, the early pages had me baffled by the interaction between Liv and Jonah. The first word of chapter five left me suspicious and a little grumpy. The relationship was just not going where I wanted or expected.... But the path change worked by the end. Mostly.
Liv and Jonah are immediately skewed. Bits of their closeness from Kat and Callum's book are suddenly an apparent myth. Stick with it because it does make sense later. That said, Liv is a solid FMC. She's amusing and interesting and shockingly consistent with her character from book 1. This book just shines a lot of light on her past, and reasons for her current. The MMC works. His loyalty, his dedication, his blind faith - he just works. He's like the text book case for "if he wanted to, he would."
The relationship building and rebuilding is perfect. The story arc and pacing are steady and satisfying. The resolution to the rain is pretty perfect. The other fae, Kat, and the spellbinders are great support characters.
My favorite aspect of the book is the emotion. Kat and Callum had some rollercoaster moments but Liv was heart wrenching at times. If you are fully in the depression junction maybe postpone this book a little. If you want a fictional silver lining, light at the end of the tunnel, HEA in spades moment then read on!
Another great installment in this series, Glass is really firing on all cylinders with this one. I loved Liv in book 1, her manic energy and deep loyalty made her instantly likable, and the teasers we got about Niall and Jonah made me excited for her book. I loathe a love triangle so I was slightly apprehensive but rest assured this is NOT a love triangle. And Jonah can go kick rocks, I hope we don’t see any more of him or Gwen in future books lol. This is the sweetest second chance romance between two people dealing with trauma and heartbreak. Liv was so relatable and sympathetic. Ugh I teared up for her a few times in the early chapters. She struggles so much with her magic, and with wondering if Jonah was her fated mate when he was in love with Gwen was rough. God bless Lola Glass and her green flag down bad MMCs because when Liv’s ex Niall (whom she’s still madly in love with) swoops in and decides to prove he’s meant to be with her, it was all swooning and heart eyes (ok… from me it was… Liv took a bit more convincing 😉).
The romance was so sweet but also has depth and healing. The friendships were well developed and led enticingly into Mer’s story next. The over arching plot was fleshed out and gave us a nice backdrop for Liv and Niall’s reconciliation. I want even more spice but only because I loved these two. Another great cozy romance from Glass. I’m loving this series thus far!
Lola Glass’ “Pretty Little Mate” is the next book in the “Fated Mate Bonds” Paranormal Romance standalone series. A romantic “whoisit” as Liv attempts to understand who her fated mate could be: an old flame or a man in love with someone else.
Liv is the embodiment of energy- a walking Duracell battery, if you will. With that abundance of energy comes rapid thought and movement, and Glass puts that directly into her writing. I felt my heart race with each chapter. However, with an abundance of feeling also comes panic and anxiety, both of which Olivia endures as a result of her powers. I felt both emotions in Olivia’s chapters as well, wrought with anxiety of my own. I enjoyed the intensity that I was made to feel as though her desperation to be free of the energy was my own. It served as an excellent representation of mental health issues, such as anxiety and panic, that people experience.
The drama and heartbreak that surround Niall and Liv were palpable. There were a lot of old wounds that hadn’t healed, words unsaid, and words unbelieved. It was totally understandable how she felt, and we’ve only experienced her perspective up to this point. Their “second chance” romance felt reasonable and was understandable, using a deeper dive into their world to explain their behaviors, responses, and their move forward. Neither of them settled for less than they deserved, which made me happy because Liv finally put herself first!
🌶️🌶️🌶️ for electric chemistry, erotic paintings, and explicit “couple” exercises 🤤
“Pretty Little Mate” continues the “Found Family” dynamics I loved so much in book one. From the meddling, the banter, the “girls' nights”, and just the overt sense of closeness, I couldn’t get enough! This book also divulges and explores the beginnings of the next couple of books, storylines, and pairings for the standalone series!.

EN
I love that their powers are kind of related to neurodivergences and disabilities. This series entered my heart from the beginning.
Thank God Liv didn't get to end with that one certain guy!!!!
Honestly, he's so basic! He wouldn't be able to love Liv the right way because he can't love deeply enough.
The way MMC understands/accepts/cares for Liv is the most beautiful thing in the world. My dream, as a woman with autism and ADHD, is to find a person who understands my needs and takes care of me out of a place of love like this.
Lola, you keep delivering everything and making a girl happy with HEA that makes the heart warm!
Fated Mate Bonds: Pretty Little Mate by Lola Glass delivers a fun and flirty twist on the paranormal romance genre. Blending classic were‑wolf mate tropes with sassy humor and emotional depth, this book kept me hooked from the first moonlit chapter to the last.
What Worked: 🐺 Chemistry that Sizzles – The connection between the leads is instant, intense, and utterly compelling. Glass excels at pacing the rising heat and emotional stakes, making the slow burn feel both inevitable and delightful. 💬 Smart, Spirited Dialogue – The banter is sharp and often laugh‑out‑loud funny, which grounded the fantastical elements in real emotion. 🧠 Well‑Crafted World building – The supernatural rules feel fleshed out without overwhelming the romance. The pack dynamics, hierarchy, and mystical lore added layers that made the world feel lived‑in.
Why Four Stars, Not Five: ⚡️ At times the plot leaned a bit predictable within the “fated mate” framework — though fans of the trope will likely see that as comfort rather than a flaw. A little more complexity or subversion in the conflict could’ve elevated the stakes further. 🌕 Some secondary characters deserved more page time; there’s a sense that exciting side stories are on the brink of bursting out.
Pretty Little Mate is the next installation in the Fated Mate Series and we get Liv’s story in this one. I was very excited to read about Liv and loved her close friendship with Callum from the first book. We get more of that in this one but add in Kat to the friendship which shows how the family of royals is expanding as they get together with their mates.
Liv is fiery, so full of energy that must be expended, and she’s always thinking about killing someone. The wolves are high up on her list especially after some shenanigans that they pull. Despite her slightly grumpy outlook, Liv is always out there helping someone whether her family and friends, the community, and even the self centered wolves.
I loved Niall so much - he has remained not only devoted to Liv since she kicked him out but also faithful in all ways. He knew that they would find each other again after the incident that drove them apart was better explained in time. And he knows her inside and out, every quirk and behavior. He not only knows but he loves taking care of her despite the chaos.
Can’t wait for the next book in the series. Lola writes the most interest worlds that are so developed and intricate and always so much fun!
This is currently my favorite Lola Glass series. I ADORE IT. I honestly went into this book without knowing who was going to be the love interest. I appreciate how the synopsis (at least during this point in time) doesn’t spoil it for the reader either.
In the author acknowledgment, Lola Glass says that she went into this book without the intention of making Jonah the love interest. Apparently she had to scrap 2/3 of the book when she decided that Niall was the better choice. IM SO GRATEFUL SHE DID. Jonah was VERY wishy washy in the first installment and I couldn’t get on his team for this reason.
I also appreciate how the author uses Kat to ask any questions the reader might have about Niall and Liv’s relationship. I think in the first book, we were unsure of Niall from Kat’s POV. In this book we get Liv’s POV which helps us see that she doesn’t feel like there was any toxic/ dangerous aspects in their relationship. I feel like Kat also asks the right questions to make the reader see that Liv isn’t jaded in her and Niall’s relationship; their relationship was healthy.
Jonah and Gwen can kick rocks.

This was so good!
It had everything I was hoping for and more. There was a boatload of banter, tension, trauma, second chance romance, and everything in-between. I love how the magic system works in this world, and how it isn't always a good thing to be powerful. It can affect you mentally and physically.
Liv is awesome, and I adore her! She is so spunky and tough, but underneath she is so anxious and conflicted. Her power makes it impossible for her to properly rest, and turns her into a ball of anxiety when she doesn't burn off enough energy. I've never seen anything quite like that before, and it's really interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing the other characters work through their magic issues and find their mates too.
I can't really go into the romance side of things without venturing into spoiler territory, but I will say the spice was fantastic and the perfect amount to not distract from the story.
Overall this was a great fast paced read that was so hard to put down!
First off, Liv completely stole the show for me. She’s this perfect mix of tough, snarky, and secretly spiraling. Her magic basically keeps her running on overdrive, if she doesn’t burn off enough energy, she turns into a stressed‑out live wire. I’ve genuinely never seen a magic system mess with someone like that, and it makes her whole character so much more interesting. Speaking of the magic, the worldbuilding is chef’s kiss. Power isn’t automatically a blessing here, it can wreck you mentally and physically, and I love that the story doesn’t shy away from that. It gives the whole thing a gritty, grounded edge. And then there’s the plot vibes: banter for days, tension you could slice with a knife, trauma sprinkled everywhere, and a second‑chance romance that hits just right. It had everything I was hoping for and then some. I can’t dive too deep into the romance without spoiling things, but I can say the spice was spot‑on, enough to keep things fun, not enough to overshadow the story. I’m also ridiculously excited to see how the rest of the characters deal with their own magic chaos and, hopefully, find their mates.
Her fated mate is in ‘love’ with someone else, and she’s an absolute mess…
The author put in their note that she originally had her ending up with Jonah, and honestly… I think I would have raged. I loved this pair. Niall made a pretty rough decision, and their relationship imploded - leading to her finding Jonah… From the first minute, I was not a fan of the snivelling little loser, and when Niall made his entry… despite her feelings towards him, I was all in!
Niall was a golden retriever for her - an obsessive, unhinged, extremely possessive golden retriever, and he’s the perfect match for her craziness… A bit of spice, a whole bunch of sweetness, and a wonderful reunion between two people who were meant to be together, no matter what fate says. The other characters were awesome, and I can’t wait to see what happens in Mer and Dare’s stories….

While I am relieved that Lola changed her original plot/pairing for this book, the choices she made to address the set up from book 1 were tough. We never got an explanation for why Jonah felt her magic differently. Niall never understood why it was so important for Liv to find her fated mate DESPITE witnessing her suffer significantly. I get that he believed they were fated, but to expect her to commit without knowing bc he didn’t want to take the risk of losing her is beyond shitty. Liv deserves to know all of the information before she makes a decision that is truly irreversible. She might have chosen him anyway, even if they weren’t mates, but at least she would have the details for an informed decision. It sucks that the book ended with them becoming made accidentally as a product of the spell rather than him choosing to risk his own emotional stability to give her the information she needs.
Another lovely wonderful paranormal fated mates romance by Lola Glass. Lola’s stories are always so well written with humour, banter, romance and human nature (worries, insecurities, etc causing problems) and this one is no different. It's full of a mix of wonderful characters with brilliant chemistry (both main and side characters), friendships, shifters and fae royals, vampires, demons and other paranormals, characters who struggle with their powers, heaps of humor, cheeky banter, second chances and sweet spice💖. I couldn't put down and would strongly recommend.
This is a particularly wonderful second chance love story of two people who'd been in love and didn't want to admit they still were (well he's happy to but she's worried about hurting others); though they are perfect for each other and work so well together when they get past their worries.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I don't know if I can bring myself to write a full review on this book as I have similar complaints from book one in the series (check out that review if you want more details).
However, I did like this one less than the first book in the series. I love a second chance romance and a he falls harder moment- but that's all that carried this for me. When tropes are carrying the story, there's a problem.
There was too much drama with Jonah, and Liv's magic was too distracting for me. For the first 55% she is constantly running or doing handstands or biking and it got to be too much. I understand that's the 'price' she is paying for power, but that doesn't mean it didn't annoy me.
I guess there was slightly more plot than book one- as ultimately their goal was to stop the rain Rumor, but it's a pretty weak through line for me.
I hate to say, you will catch me reading book three. I read book one and two in 1.5 days- they're kind of like candy.
