Is it a love triangle when the “other woman” is your soul?

Don’t go into this expecting a revamped or copy paste version of Bite Full of Death. This is monster romance with a cursed witch. It is despair, longing, and in my opinion(obviously) it’s a paranormal version of what it is like to be a Black woman. Because of our greatness the power we can willed. We are cursed by the corruption of a world that cannot and refuses to appreciate us, often by those that think they are more deserving of our power. Rue is the embodiment of that while Jinx is the part of ourselves we have to cut out to make room for all that we must carry.

Or maybe it’s just a dark humor story about a reaper teaching a witch it’s ok to be wicked? Idk you read it and tell me what you think!

4 star means liked, 5 means loved. And since I loved Rue (and Poe) and liked everyone else 4.5 feels the most honest. Rue is the kind of character that I want to read all the time. She is the archetype that most if not all my mood reading is set around. I love her to pieces and I want her to get and have everything she deserves and my wicked little dark cloud deserves everything. Stewart writes monster in a way that allows them to be dark, dangerous, villainous and still deserving of the HEA and I will always love her for it!

Y'all, once again SJ Stewart pulled me into a story and gave me everything I didn't know I needed. She always has characters that you can relate to in some way or another...no matter how unhinged and chaotic they may be. You definitely get unhinged and chaotic with Rue and Jinx, these two are like watching yourself fight yourself in a mirror! (That will make sense once you read it.) Add in chaotic, unhinged, and possibly neurodivergent Poe and the recipe gets spicy and unpredictable. Plus, you sprinkle Killian...a crossroads demon who isn't exactly what we think he is in the mix as the fated mate of Rue and Jinx...you'd need a masterclass in creative writing to put a story like this together. Stewart seems to have done so effortlessly. We also have a coven of witches chasing Rue, in addition to Poe who just wants her man to be cursed again. There's also a bat "familiar" who saves Jinx as often as Rue does. This supernatural story of love, lust, finding your place, and finding your own voice will have you wanting more and more. If you haven't read A Bite Full of Death and Dex's Curse, I'm telling you to do so before this one drops next week. IMO, chef's kiss!! Happy Reading Y'all Monsters!💋

A spellbinding story of a witch, her corporeal soul, and the magnetism between them and a crossroads demon, A Deal with the Untethered, is a fast-paced read that's difficult to set down. Author SJ Stewart has written a captivating monster romance with a bat familiar, delightfully unhinged, morally grey characters, and reluctantly fated mates. This book has a layered plot of coming into one's power and becoming their whole self, as well as enchanting imagery, prose and world-building. I love a fantasy novel that dismantles a power-hungry regime of any capacity. I received this as an ARC and devoured it and it's predecessor really quickly. I absolutely loved this read!

Misery’s Sweetest Hues

I’m forever thankful for the opportunity to ARC read this deliciously dark book.

SJ Stewart has a way of crafting tales that highlight the rawness of emotions. Rue, Jinx, and Killian were all very compelling characters that encompass the yearning that comes with being. Being alive yet not living. Raw existence in need of a home—and they found it in each other.

I was locked in from the first page and I was so happy to be able to see them get their hea, or at least what it means for them! Can’t wait to see what Stewart has in store!

A Deal With the Untethered is such a fun story, and I’m left at the end not being able to decide who my favorite character is! I love the way each of them were easy to love!

Poe has her own story that I need to read asap after finishing this one!

Jinx is the playful one that will make you laugh. Rue is mostly angry, but you get why. And Killian? He’s a little bit of both of them!

Also, expect some delicious spice 😏

Thank you for the advanced copy!!
