Raised in Michigan but moved to Texas and has experienced the best and worst of both. Kayla has interests in the dark and macabre. She enjoys '80's music and movies. A little neurotic and a huge lover of Halloween, creepy stories and cats are totally her jam.
What an interesting twist to the story of Rumpelstiltskin with Celia wanting nothing more than to escape her home and be a Queen. Her selfishness shines through when she is NOT careful of what she wishes for and must pay the price. Trigger warnings: death, gore
This dark and frightening retelling of Rumpelstiltskin is a short horror story that can be finished in a day. Some of the scenes are really disturbing with blood and violence. So always think carefully about what you wish for because the price you pay may turn out to be very different from what you expected.
An excellent horror with an evil twist. Be careful what you wish for as the price you pay is not what you expect. A must read and highly recommended. I received a complimentary copy and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Thank you to the publisher for an ARC of this book.
This was a very dark Rumpelstiltskin reimagining. Celia is an ambitious and flawed character, which made the story interesting. It was a short story, but I felt like there was a lot to the story with the intriguing quest for power.
This is such a cool reimagining of this old tale. But with much more gore, greed, and violence. Couldn't put it down! Still excited to read more into this entire series.
Super interesting retelling of Rumplestiltskin. Unfortunately, I started this book at bedtime and had to finish the whole thing in one go! I found myself completely unable to stop turning pages.
Well, this was a different take on the rumplestilskin tale for sure. Just goes to show you what you get if you go after something you shouldn’t doesn’t it. Recommended reading
I loved this very dark horror retelling of Rumplestiltskin. The main character is unsympathetic which made the story more intriguing than the original. It was fun to have the stakes be so high. Not for the faint of heart and impossible to put down.
