Oh my goodness, where do I even begin with this dear story.

I just finished Dance with Me by Lisette Alford, and I feel like I have been sitting on the porch listening to someone tell me about real love, real hurt, and the courage it takes to try again. This book truly touched my heart.

Ben broke my heart from the very beginning. When a man loses his marriage the way he did, it is not just the relationship that ends. It is his confidence, his trust, and sometimes even his belief that he deserves happiness. I wanted to reach into the pages and tell him that life is not finished with him yet. Two years is a long time to carry that kind of pain.

And then sweet Rory walks into his brother’s bar. I just loved how naturally their connection unfolded. There was no rushing, no silly drama, just two people who have been through life a little and understand that love is not always easy. It felt mature and sincere. That is something I appreciate more and more these days.

The setting in the Houston suburbs made everything feel warm and grounded. The Ford family dynamic was such a comfort. You can feel the loyalty between the siblings, and it makes the romance even richer. Family matters in this story, and that always earns extra points from this grandma’s heart.

What I admired most was the theme of second chances. Accepting love after heartbreak can be frightening. It takes bravery to open your heart when it has already been bruised. Watching Ben learn to trust again was both tender and inspiring.

This story is not flashy or over the top. It is heartfelt, steady, and emotional in the best way. It reminds us that love can come quietly, at the most unexpected time, and sometimes it is the very thing we thought we no longer needed.

If you enjoy contemporary romance with family warmth, emotional healing, and characters who feel like real people, I believe you will find yourself smiling through this one just as I did.

Four sweet stars from this grateful reader. I will certainly be returning to Ford’s Crossing for the next story.

I just finished Dance with Me: Ford's Crossing Series - Book 1 by Lisette Alford**, and I’m still thinking about it. What an absolutely beautiful start to the Ford’s Crossing series.

From the very first chapter, I felt completely immersed in the world of Ford’s Crossing. The setting feels warm, lived-in, and authentic—like a place you could actually visit and never want to leave. The emotional depth of the story is what truly stood out to me. The characters aren’t just romantic leads; they feel real, layered, and human. Their vulnerabilities, struggles, and growth made the love story deeply satisfying and believable.

The chemistry between the main characters is undeniable, but what I appreciated most was how their relationship developed with intention. The romance felt earned, not rushed. Every tender moment, every bit of tension, and every emotional breakthrough added to the richness of the story.

The writing itself is smooth, engaging, and heartfelt. There’s a sincerity in the storytelling that makes it easy to connect emotionally. I found myself smiling during the lighter moments and genuinely moved during the more emotional scenes.

This book isn’t just a romance—it’s a story about healing, trust, and finding the courage to open your heart again. If this is only the beginning of the Ford’s Crossing series, I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Thank you for creating such a touching and memorable story. It was truly a joy to read.

Dance with Me is a heartfelt contemporary romance about healing after betrayal and learning to love again. Lisette Alford captures Ben’s vulnerability and hesitation in a way that feels honest and relatable. The chemistry between Ben and Rory grows naturally, making their second-chance connection both tender and believable. Set against the warm backdrop of small-town Texas life, this first installment lays a strong emotional foundation for the Ford family series. A sweet and satisfying start.

Lisette Alford knows Texas! Her story accurately portrays life in the greater Houston area to a "t." I can't wait to get into the series and find out more! This is for anyone who thinks love is beyond their reach. Think again.
