Inga Teder is an Estonian-born writer and digital cinematographer.

She moved to London, United Kingdom, at the age of 20 and later found her way into the film industry, where she spent over a decade working in digital cinematography on major studio productions including Maleficent, The Jungle Book, Guardians of the Galaxy, Prometheus: Covenant, and The Witcher.

Her background in cinema continues to shape her fiction – visual, atmospheric, and attentive to rhythm, image, and place.

Living in South Oxfordshire, she draws inspiration from the folklore, landscapes, and layered history of the English countryside. Her debut novel Cotswold Mist reflects this influence and was created in collaboration with over a dozen artists from around the world, each illustrating a chapter in their own style.

When not writing, Inga travels the countryside in a red convertible, accompanied by her Chow Chow, Saiake (Estonian for “bread bun”).

Cotswold Mist is an evocative and atmospheric novel that lingers long after the final page. Inga Teder creates a richly textured world steeped in mood, mystery, and a strong sense of place. The Cotswolds are rendered with a painter’s eye, and the novel carries a quiet intensity that builds gradually. I really enjoyed this journey.

While this isn’t usually the genre I gravitate toward, I do frequent the Cotwolds once a year, every year for 2 weeks, so i really appreciated the care that has gone into the historical detail and the layered storytelling. There’s a haunting quality to the narrative — folkloric in tone — that gives it a distinctive voice. The themes feel thoughtfully explored, and the imagery is particularly striking, created with love, you can tell.

Readers who enjoy atmospheric fiction with a strong sense of setting, stunning visuals and an undercurrent of myth and history will find much to enjoy here.

Beautifully descriptive, with a unique storytelling style that brings the Cotswolds vividly to life, blending its landscapes, villages, and local myths into an exciting adventure. Even though I’ve visited the area many times, this book added a new layer to my visits, inspiring me to experience it from a fresh perspective. Full of subtle emotion and atmosphere, it leaves a lasting impression of the Cotswolds’ quiet magic and mystery.
