I totally loved this book as much as I loved the other books in this series. This may be my favorite one yet...I've been waiting for Death's story. With amazing characters and a plot to keep you guessing this is one author that's hard to beat. I can't wait to see how the next book in this series turns out.

Once again Melissa has out done herself. I love Death's character. He is a tormented man in love. And who torments him? His wife of course. To read the struggle 'Reaper' goes through to get his woman. There is the right amount of everything in this book and to see more into Cosmo's life is a good in site as to who might come next in the series. Keep up the awesome writing.

**ARC REVIEW**
Oh where to start? This is always the question with Melissa's writing. She is able to blend romance and suspense in a way that makes you refuse to put the book down. I absolutely love her writing and cannot wait for book five.

Death is not what you would expect. He is loving and carinf but can easily be a jerk and make uou hate him. He silently takes his "lessons" his mom requires him to go througb so he never forgets whatvit is like to die. He rarely complains and understands it it necessary. Durimg one of his lessons he is cared for by a gorgeous healer. He learns that not everyone ending is terrible. Years later when he meets her again and she begs him to take her with him and is flabbergasted and is even more drawn to her. He does not know why but after their last encounter when she is frightened she is able to pull him to her. When she does he marks her and tells her one day she will be his.

Vanessa is a healer from centuries ago and since the day that she tried to kill herself by infecting herself with the Black Plague after losing all her family and accidentally tied herself to a God she never becomes ill. In her times of fear she pulls death to her. The first time was after stowing away a boat and praying for death before the captain caused her harm. This is when Death claimed her as his. Shared spent centuries running from him. In her time of desperate need she wished she hadn't because now she has no clue if he will come for her. She also regrets never telling him how much she loved him.

Will Vanessa survive her ordeal and be able to tell Death her feelings or will Death forsake her?

I had a free copy from the Author for an honest review.
This Series of Books just hit the spot. All I can say is wow what a book once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. Read it in a whole night lol.
I loved the writing style of Melissa and they way she told the story of Destiny. You got glimpse of the rest of the family as well which was nice and set you up ready for the next book (I have read all 4) The story has it all good looking hunks, lovely ladies and a real plot to follow and some really steamy sex, what more can a woman asked for. I recommend this series of books to anyone who loves a bit of paranormal (gods). I have enjoyed everyone of them but it has left me wanting more. I hope that there will be more like Faith Story, Cosmos
Destiny and Zandra, Destruction and Megan, Morpheus and Cheval, Death and Vanessa
I suffered and loved every minute with each one. A real rollercoaster ride of emotions for all of them and I am glad that they just didn't finish in each book but lived on in the next one. I have to say that Death was my favourite I felt a deep connection with him.
I am given the books a 5 star rating
my review is for all 4 of them and if you haven't read one start there you won't be disappointed.

Defying Death book 4 is outstanding

Death the Grim Reaper was bonded to his soul mate and claimed her as his wife, his Angel/Vanessa in 1349 but promised her he would wait until she came to him openly, and wait he did many centuries have past but did he leave it too late ?

Vanessa is a caring soul the preserver of life, Death takes life away will they ever be able to meet a calm place together.

Defying Death had lots of gripping twists and we get to meet the Devil himself Lucifer and the top man God in this one. We also learn some family secrets about Cosmos.

The hot sexual chemistry is burning the pages on fire between Death & Vanessa but is love enough to keep them together when Death is face with a very difficult decision.

Cannot wait for more in this series.

I was gifted this book for an honest review. Wow, come along on this journey with Death(Reaper of the souls) and Vanessa(the white witch). When Death cheats her out of her own death she goes looking for it. Death finds her when she calls for him, he claims her for his wife and anyone to harm or touch her will die. Vanessa begins running from Death now as she realizes she has inadvertently tied herself to an immortal God. For years Vanessa has been safely hiding herself and moving when she feels Death near, but will her find her?, will she willingly go to him? Come along for the ride to see what happens next. Mystery, suspense and intrigue is what you will find with this read.

I received this free for my honest review, wow where do I start, this series has excelled in each one. This story is about death and Vanessa and what a story it pulls at your heart and emotions, there is more twists and turns and plenty of hot steamy scenes to keep your attention. I must admit death is my favourite by far up to now, all the characters blend together and you just want the stories to keep going which is down to Melissa Bell's amazing ability to put romance and suspense together that you really can't put these books down.

Well absolutely fantastic. Now I have finished the series I can happily admit death is my favourite god. As death and Vanessa have popped up in the other books it was great to read there story. Death has to be the most patient of the brothers and the story how he finally gets his "female" is exciting and keeps you guessing what's around the corner.Cosmo is up to her meddling again but all in her son's best interests. I have really enjoyed the entire series and can't wait to read Melissa's next series.

Another great book in the dutiful god series, this one answers questions from the previous books, with plenty of suprises to keep you hooked!
The lead chatacters have a long standing history, reaper (death) shows his patience stretched for many lifetimes chasing his run away wife. Both characters have a passion and inner strength to fuel their stubbornness making for a great book that's hard to put down!

This story took an emotional toll from me. I have watched thru the other books as Death has chased Vanessa. I was surprised to learn of their stories origins. I found myself clearly in Deaths corner. His love and sacrifice taking hold in my heart. His pain and suffering are finally rewarded after tragedy strikes. In the end I am left satisfied with his situation, but with many questions about others in this story.

This book took me about an hour and a half to read. For what it is, it was an entertaining read that was predictable. However, if hot short stories with a beautiful female lead and an alpha romantic male lead are your cup of tea, then this will be a book for you.

The Grim Reaper has a new face and its SEXY AS HELL!!!!

Book #4 of the Dutiful Gods series and HOPEFULLY not the last so please please please Ms Bell say there will be more. In this installment we have the story of Death also know as the Grim Reaper who's duty is to reap the souls of the recently deceased and deposit them to their final resting place. Due to a condition stipulated by his mother he must spend a week every so often living as a human among them to ensure he would never lose his compassion for the souls he collected. In the year 1340 he appears in a cottage to collect the soul of the mother of a young woman named Vanessa who has just passed way. Death upon seeing her is struck by her beauty and the words she speaks to him. We then fast forward to the year 1349 where the week trial that Death is supposed to live is forced upon him and Vanessa an irish healer takes him into her home to try and nurse him back to health. From there events are placed in motion that tie Vanessa to Death irrecoverably to her despair and she sets out trying to undo her actions while death will not allow her to escape his clutches as he has fallen in love with her. As always Ms Bell has created another SWOON WORTHY leading man who embodies all our fantasies come to life, Death is sexy, wonderfully possesive and an utter romantic to a fault, this man was a SAINT and PATIENT as hell towards the woman he loves. And our leading lady was ballsy to say the least, couragous, kind hearted and in my opinion had an iron resolve and determination (that I would'nt have been able to pull off as im quite weak when it comes to Ms Bells leading men lol) My only comment would be that this story took longer to get to the romance as our leading lady was very resouceful in avoiding our hunky hero but that did not hinder the story in anyway and I still enjoyed it immensly. I also love the fact that we see a return of some of our other loved characters and the addition of 7 new ones aswell along with some interesting scenes featuring Cosmo Death's mother. I hope (fingers crossed) that given all this additional juicy information that there is alot more to happen with this series and that this is not the end but only the begining.
