Delta James is a USA Today bestselling author of steamy romantic suspense and paranormal romance. Known for her fast-paced, heart-racing, panty-melting stories, Delta writes fierce heroines, dominant heroes, dangerous secrets, and irresistible fated mates. From alpha shifters prowling the wild to powerful billionaires ruling the boardroom, her books deliver heat, suspense, and unforgettable chemistry.
Delta never planned to write romance. In fact, she launched her author career in 2018 after deciding her second act in life needed a little more passion… and possibly a little more bite. Since then, she’s published dozens of addictive romances for readers who love their happily-ever-afters with plenty of steam and danger.
She lives in Florida with her pack of loyal basset hounds (who firmly believe they run the household), and when she’s not writing steamy scenes or plotting revenge for her latest heroine, she can usually be found riding horses, walking the beach, or chasing her next adventure on the river.
I received an ARC of this book via BookSirens in exchange for an honest review.
Going into Siren of the Storm, I was really intrigued by the concept—it gave me a reversed Little Mermaid vibe with a human and a sea creature/dragon shifter love interest, which is very much my kind of trope. The writing is easy to follow and the story moves at a fast pace, making it a quick and accessible read.
However, that fast pacing is also where most of my issues come from.
At around 40–50%, I still feel like I barely know the characters. We get small hints about Finn’s past, but not enough to fully understand or connect with him.
The female main character, on the other hand, feels even less developed.
The mate bond is introduced very abruptly, with little to no buildup. It feels like an instant connection without the emotional tension that usually makes this trope so compelling. On top of that, Finn having a previous mate (who died) made it harder for me personally to fully invest in this new bond.
Another issue is how key plot elements are handled. Important concepts—like claiming a mate, what that actually means, and its consequences (including her potentially becoming a dragon)—are introduced very suddenly and without proper explanation.
The same goes for the heroine’s sudden focus on dragons, which feels like it comes out of nowhere. He lack of surprise or emotions when she sees the man shift into an enormous beast.
Although this book is presented as a standalone in a series, it doesn’t fully read that way to me. It feels like prior knowledge of the series is expected, and I often found myself missing context about the world, its rules, and even the characters.
Because of that, I’ve decided to pause reading for now. I’m considering going back and reading the earlier books in the series first, as I suspect they provide essential world-building and more background on the shifter character. I’d like to better understand the world and connect more with the male characters in the friend group/ brotherhood before continuing this one.
Overall, while the book is easy to read and has an interesting premise, the lack of buildup and explanation made it difficult for me to fully engage without reading all four book prior.

Another interesting tale of those who have sworn to keep Stormhaven safe from those who would dare to defile her waters. Dr. Lila and Finn's journey may be quick, they knew almost instantly that the connection between them was strong and permanent, but the danger from without kept their bond from snapping into place. Threats, dangers, betrayals and rituals all coalesce into a suspenseful tale of romance.
Very unique and interesting story. Dead bodies wash up but no signs of drowning. He is mourning his mate that was killed but now finds out that his true mate is now here and investigating these unusual deaths. Can he protect her from the same fate? Can they defeat their enemy? Very well written, riveting storyline with good pacing, twists and turns, thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. Loved it!
book five in the series, Finn lost his first love when a friend turned enemy killed her, Now Lila is on the island she is studying marine biology. I loved this ending to the series. Lila and Finn are wonderful together, I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
The opening?? Immediate emotional damage. I felt for Finn right away… and then things quickly started to spiral in ways I wasn’t always sold on.

📖 Live Reactions (aka me losing my mind)
- First few lines and I’m already heartbroken for Finn… WHAT was that 😭 - Mikhail… I still fuckin hate you - Killing his mate to “save him from torment”??? That is INSANE logic - Another marine biologist… okay 😐 - Catronia is already playing a dangerous game with the island’s secrets - Why would she bring in MORE scientists when this is clearly magical?? - The cell stuff is interesting but also confusing… I wanted more clarity - Wait… I thought mates worked differently than this?? - I swear earlier rules are already being contradicted - He lives in a cave??? Sir be serious - The “primal attraction” descriptions… we get it. We GET IT. - He already tried to numb the bond before—why would it work now 😭 - A wolf vs a dragon?? Let’s be real for a second - Oh shit Mikhail is already tracking her - GIRL WHY are you fighting trained men over algae??? - Finn revealing she’s his mate to the enemy?? WHY - Lila has basically no real evidence… what are we doing - Mikhail switching up the “friend” narrative?? Pick a lane - “Enjoy your new weakness.” OKAY that line ate - Why didn’t he change his first mate then?? - The action scenes felt a bit inconsistent - Wait… was she kidnapped or not?? - That whole sequence felt confusing - Timeline jumps had me double checking what just happened - Some details contradicted earlier descriptions - Not them acknowledging how rushed the relationship is 💀 - Why are regular wolves being sent after a PHOENIX?? - Why is she asking someone else about dragon mating instead of Finn?? - Every man resisting the bond at first is getting repetitive - “Dragons don’t ask, they take” …sir you’ve been asking the whole time 😭 - Girl you were WARNED the bond can’t be stopped??? - The barrier… suddenly not working?? - “Is that a promise?” / “It’s a guarantee.” OKAY WAIT 👀 - Them hooking up right before battle is crazy timing 😂 - Mikhail going down that easily?? Hm - Wait… why is she the first pregnancy situation?? - Jax finally being mentioned at 92%?? Be serious - The baby shifting immediately??? 😭 - Naming the daughter after the dead mate… I’m sorry but that’s wild - Jax being left out made me sad

🔥 The Highlights (rated out of 5)
✨ Characters: 4 ⭐️ Finn had a strong emotional foundation, especially at the beginning, and there were moments where the characters really shined. But some of the decisions they made were… questionable at best.
💘 Tension & Romance: 3.5 ⭐️ There were definitely some good moments (👀 certain lines), but the relationship felt rushed and a bit inconsistent in how it developed… sex was hot though🤪😂
🌀 Plot & World: 3.5 ⭐️ The concept had a lot of potential, but the execution felt messy at times. There were inconsistencies in the worldbuilding and rules that pulled me out of the story. There wasn’t as much plot repetition as the other books though so that was nice.
😭 Emotional Damage: 2 ⭐️ The beginning hits HARD, but the emotional impact doesn’t stay consistent throughout.
---
🖤 Final Thoughts
Siren of the Storm had a really strong start and some genuinely interesting ideas, but the inconsistencies in plot, character decisions, and worldbuilding made it hard to fully stay immersed.
There were moments I really enjoyed, but also a lot of moments where I was questioning what was happening or why.
Overall, it was an okay read for me, but not one I felt fully satisfied by.
If you’re someone who notices plot inconsistencies easily… you might struggle with this one. Also, this can technically be read as a standalone but I highly suggest reading the other books first as there is more lead up and information in the other books.

🗣️ Quote I’m Still Thinking About:
"Enjoy your new weakness." Mikhail's form shifts, human bleeding into phoenix. "Let's see if you can protect this one better than the last."

Ever since the prequel novella, Finn Rowan’s story has been the one that’s interested me the most. Unlike all the other main characters, the dragon shifter is the only one to have had a mate, Saoirse, before. I knew that this would give his eventual mate bond in the series proper extra weight – but even so, I’m glad it was left until later. Having seen so many other shifters get their mates meant we knew just how meaningful it could be – and how it would be more so for Finn.
To that end, I liked how we immediately started in a flashback, showing how the loss of Saoirse – and the circumstances behind it – broke him. As he recalls, “I have reduced a landscape to slag because I loved and lost.” However, that breaking is also psychological, as he retreats to Skara’s waters for centuries, steadfast in the belief that “Alone is safer. Alone cannot betray.”
If anything, I’d have liked to see more snippets of Finn’s relationship with both Saoirse and others prior to the novel. What we do get is tantalising, but to see it presented on the page rather than just talked about would’ve helped to give more of a sense of what they used to mean to him and why her loss was so tragic.
In any case, Finn’s past leaves him thinking another mate bond is impossible – until he comes across Dr Lila Mercer, a marine biologist who’s been sent to Skara to study a series of drownings that don’t follow usual patterns. We see instantly that Finn’s dragon and his human are warring. Though the latter “still remembers pain […] learned grief in blood and broken bodies,” the former “wants her so badly my bones ache with the wrongness of standing here instead of going to her.” He doesn’t believe he deserves to love again, but knows what he’s feeling with Lila and tries to push her away as a result.
Like the other women in the series, Lila isn’t so easily discouraged. Though Finn is “everything I thought I understood about the world condensed into a form that defies classification”, making her reconsider her own entrenched scientific views, she refuses to be cowed by him or the wider Brotherhood. As she tells them all during one conversation, “Stop trying to scare me away and start treating me like someone capable of understanding what I’m walking into.”
That takes some time – with Finn not wanting to “bind you to this war, to me, to a life you never asked for”- but when the emotional storm breaks between the two of them, it is seismic. This is the spiciest book in the series, with a wider variety of acts in more successive chapters, but as with previous instalments I think it added to the closeness of their relationship (especially a moment late in the book that I won’t spoil here!).
Something else that also did this was the other Brotherhood members – and their mates. In the Tides of Fate series, “pack” is a wide ranging concept, and in Siren of the Storm we see more of how it includes everyone. From Grayson’s honesty towards Finn about what he’s denying feeling for Lila, to Isla telling Lila that “tactical advantage and genuine feeling aren’t mutually exclusive”, they come together to support each other more than they’ve ever done, and it really warmed my heart.
Though there are some threads that remain unsolved – like if Jax will get his mate – there’s a sense of finality to this fifth book. Whether or not this is the end of the series, I feel honoured to have had the chance to follow it. Stormhaven, Skara, and its shifters have left their mark on me. Declan MacRae probably put it better than I ever could when he said, “Not all of us found what we were looking for. But all of us found family.”
Siren of the Storm has that kind of pull where you step into it expecting one thing and end up caught in something much heavier, darker, and a lot more intense than it first lets on. There’s this constant sense of unease running through it, like the calm before something breaks, and it never really lets you settle.
Lila is such an interesting character to sit with because she feels grounded in a way that contrasts everything happening around her. She leans on logic, on facts, on what she can prove, and watching that slowly get chipped away is part of what makes the story feel so immersive. She doesn’t just accept what’s happening, she pushes against it, questions it, and that resistance adds this extra layer of tension to every interaction.
And Finn… he’s very much that controlled, dangerous presence that never fully relaxes. There’s a weight to him, like he’s constantly holding something back, and you can feel it in the way he interacts with Lila. He keeps his distance, but not really. Pushes her away, but watches her anyway. That dynamic creates this steady, simmering tension that builds without needing to rush anything.
Their connection isn’t soft or immediate; it’s cautious, restrained, and threaded with that underlying sense of danger. It’s less about sweeping romance and more about proximity, instinct, and the way they keep circling each other even when they shouldn’t. That push and pull is what really keeps things engaging.
The atmosphere is honestly one of the strongest parts of this book. The setting feels heavy in the best way: stormy, isolated, and just a little unsettling. There’s this constant feeling that something is off beneath the surface, and it carries through the entire story. It’s not just about what’s happening, it’s about the tension of what could happen at any moment.
There’s also a darker edge running underneath everything. The stakes feel personal, not just external, and that gives the story more weight. It leans into that mix of danger and connection without losing the emotional thread, which keeps it from feeling one-note.
Overall, this is one of those reads that works really well if you like your paranormal romance with a stronger suspense edge, complicated dynamics, and an atmosphere that keeps you slightly on edge the whole time. It’s not overly fast-paced, but it builds in a way that keeps you locked in.
As always be mindful of any trigger warnings, what I like you may not. Happy Reading! ✨📚
SIREN OF THE STORM is the fifth instalment in Delta James’ contemporary, adult TIDES OF FATE erotic, paranormal, romance series. This is dragon shatter Finn Rowan, and Marine Biologist Lila Mercer’s story line . SIREN OF THE STORM can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Lilah and Finn) SIREN OF THE STORM follows in the wake of the arrival of Marine biologist Lilah Mercer in Stormhaven, in search of of answers to a mysterious bioluminescent algae. Following the deaths of several people, Lilah is sent on a mission of research but finds herself facing down a man who is about to claim her heart. Finn Rowan knows immediately that Lilah Mercer their mate. Having loved and lost eons before, Finn is determined to protect Lilah at all costs. Finn’s past has followed our hero to Stormhaven, and with it, comes a promise to repeat the sins of the past, in an effort to destroy Finn’s only weakness.
The world building is fast and furious as the Brotherhood must come together in an effort to save their own. Finn has been targeted for what he is, and in this, Lilah Mercer will be the catalyst that pulls the Brotherhood into a supernatural war.
The relationship between Lilah and Finn is one of fated mates. Lilah is human but within hours of her arrival, everything she thought she knew would be replaced with wonder and awe-shifters do exist, and the probably of surviving the war will be better if Lilah becomes something else. The $ex scenes are provocative and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
All of the previous story line supernatural shifters return including their fated mates
SIREN OF THE STORM is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, secrets and lies, fate and love. The character driven premise is fast paced, captivating and dramatic; the romance is limited ; the characters are desperate and charismatic.
This is a promising book. And that's what I thought initially before finally reaching the end.
It’s a book about a dragon shifter and a marine biologist who met under the circumstances of unusual deaths found on the sea. Lila lives her life believing in logic and scientific explanation for everything until she sees unexplainable shifting from human to dragon. And the dragon was supposed to be her mate. Finn had been living the path centuries secluded deep under the sea until he met his second chance of mate snooping around things that could kill her and he needed to protect her.
I was really amazed with the amount of research made to make Lila's background as a marine biologist real and significantly important to the story. And the way the prologue was constructed to tell Finn’s hurtful pass made me have high hopes for the whole story.
However, I think for a fantasy story revolving around mate and romance it does feel like it lacks the romantic elements. They do have the spice but the spark doesn’t quite reach because of the same reason. The romance is simple, they were mates. They like each other. They did the deed. No heavy conflict even though they met in a weird circumstance but Lila's acceptance was a bit too easy for someone she met in less than a week?
The whole shifters concept is interesting. But I feel like every shifter has the same concept. In this universe and other universes. It gave the impression that there’s nothing unique between other species shifters which made my initial excitement to read another book by Delta James faltered. And it does feel like other books in the tide of fates series have the same patterns. But I might read one more just to prove me wrong. Hopefully. I don’t wish to read the same kind of book but in a different font. That would be a bit boring and repetitive.
The ending was a bit too lengthy and it can be cut short. Also, I found that some conversations are a bit too repetitive, like they talking about the same things two to three times more in the same chapter.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I have enjoyed all the books in this series and am hoping that this is not the last! Jax needs his story and HEA. This is Finn, the Dragon shifter and Lila, the Marine Biologist's story. Lila arrives at The Isle of Skara, an Island that holds many secrets, is excited for the experience. She was sent from the Marine Research Institute to investigate the unusual deaths that have been occurring over the last few months on the island. There is something about the deaths that has triggered the interest of the Institute and she is there to find answers. Once she is settled in at the Inn she takes a wander around Skara. Catriona shows her around and when Lila asks about the phenomenom that was evident at each site where the bodies were recovered. Tasked with going and speaking with Finn, a man who lived in a cave.....alarm bells ring. Finn recognises Lila as his mate immediately! Lila feels an unusual pull towards the handsome stranger. Whilst fast paced, there was plenty of open door spice as Lila gives herself to Finn to help fight an enemy that he should of killed centuries ago. Consummating their mate bond gives Finn the upper hand as now his enemy has two dragons to eliminate, not one. The Syndicate makes an appearance in this story, as they help Mikhail to achieve his goal. And that is to take Finn's mate away from him and destroy Finn in the process. Danger is near and Lila has to adjust to being a Dragon Shifter like her mate, Finn. A young dragon still learning the ropes, using her analytical mind to work out the best way she and Finn can eliminate the threat to their species. Can Finn and Lila destroy an enemy who has been building up to this fight with Finn for centuries.....How can Finn and Lila beat their enemy which includes The Syndicate? Always love a good shifter book and this one does not disappoint!! Having the drama and romance all rolled into a great story with a surprising HEA for Lila and Finn!
I have long awaited Finn’s book. There is just something about a dragon shifter that is so appealing. And Finn caught my attention from the very first beginning. I think it was due to his ability to survive in the deep depths of the ocean – it was different. Finn was integral part of the overarching story line but he always held himself apart from the other shifters. And finally, in this book, we find out why. The trauma and sorrow of his past is suddenly what the focus of this book is about.
Lila, is just the person Finn needs to “live” again. As a marine biologist, she arrives on the island searching for answers to a mysterious type of algae that has been found on drowning victims. But these are no simple drownings. As she pushes forward to find answers on the algae, Finn has a plan to get rid of her. Finn wants to get her off the island even though his dragon knows that she is his fated mate. The pull to claim her is strong, but he thinks he has a better plan. But like all good plans (at least in Finn’s mind), they do not go according to the way he had hoped. Suddenly, Finn’s past is threatening his present, and Lila is caught right in the bullseye. It is not as simple anymore to get her the leave the island.
What happens next is hot and steamy and ends with Lila willingly becoming a dragon shifter and Finn’s mate. Now they must face the danger to the Isle of Skara together. As the mystery unfolds, it soon becomes apparent that Finn’s old friend, but now enemy is after so much more from Finn. It will take Finn, Lila and the rest of the Brotherhood to stop Mikhail – but how do you stop a phoenix from rising again?
I am assuming, that this is final book in this series, but I hope I am wrong. Throughout the series, there is one character, a wolf shifter named Jax who supports the Brotherhood. I really want him to have his own story and HEA. I can wish.
Finn, the dragon shifters, has isolated himself for centuries carrying betrayal and grief life a shroud. There's unfinished business with his former friend, Mikhail, but deaths concerning an unusual alge take precedence. That is until Lila arrives on the island. Finn recognizes the brilliant, beautiful scientist for what she is, though he fights against the feeling. These adversaries will need to come together if they hope to resolve the mysterious deaths and put an end to Mikhail's reign of terror.
Full of suspense, tension, action, drama and passion, Siren of the Storm carries on the arc from the previous book (not necessary to read, but it's helpful). The characters, particularly Finn and Lila, are clearly defined and developed, showing substantial growth throughout the story. Readers get a chance to understand Finn in this book, where he has been a more peripheral member of the Brotherhood in previous novels. I particularly enjoyed his decisiveness and domineering characteristics (and how he employed them). I found that once I got about half way through, I was so caught up I has to continue reading, regardless on hour. I needed to know how everything resolved itself. Delta is superb at crafting characters that readers genuinely care about, and therefore want to find out all ends happily (hopefully).
I was gifted a copy of this book and volunteered this review. Happy Reading Y'all 📚
Finn Rowan and his mate that has come to discover what has killed seven humans that are ritual killings Finn has never forgotten his first mate Saoirse the love of his life that had been killed by his best friend the Phoenix Mikhail supposedly to save him from suffering the heartache of losing his human mate within fifty years. Then it seemed that as he had laid his territory to ruin and had buried the love of his life in the ocean and then had followed her in his dragon form to the depths of the ocean. Then it seems that the ocean that was being investigated by a scientist had brought him more that he ever suspected, he had realised that Lila Mercer was in fact his mate and he knew that this meant that she would be at risk from his old nemesis Mikhail. As the investigation on the Isle of Skara become more in depth and it is obvious that the algae is simply covering the ritual marks on the bodies that have all been found facing the ocean and she knows that the feeling she feels for Finn is more than a simple relationship, it is as though she has known him before in a past life of sorts. I guarantee that as readers are drawn into this heartfelt story it is apparent that this couple are extremely special and that Finn will do anything to keep Lila safe and I know that readers will be as captivated by this book as I have been. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.
This book had quite an interesting premise for a shifter romance, and I enjoyed how unique it was. I liked the mix of supernatural characters, rather than a focus on purely dragons, and I'm always a sucker for the fated mates trope. I was a bit concerned by the prologue and the mention of Finn's previous mate, but thankfully she wasn't a major focus of the book. Furthermore, there was very descriptive, beautiful imagery as the story took place by the sea, and the ending of the book was sweet and full of love and hope.
However, I had a few issues with the novel. The word "love" was used far too early, before the characters had barely even spoken with one another. The characters also sometimes seemed to know things in one chapter and then forget/be shocked by them later. Furthermore, it was strange how shockingly unbothered Lila was by the existence of the supernatural. These inconsistencies made the book lack cohesion and pulled me out of the story.
Overall, this book wasn't my favorite, but readers who love water-focused, shifter romances might enjoy it. *I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.*
Dr Lila Mercer has arrived on the Isle of Skara to find answers. Seven bodies with no water in the lungs and deep-water algae transfer to shallow water drowning victims. Unfortunately answers to the many questions those deaths raise could get Lila, a marine biologist killed. Finn Rowan, and ancient dragon shifter has a very good idea of what caused those deaths. Blood magic rituals no longer practiced, and he knows of only one being who could, or would, use that magic. When Lila goes to Finn for answers he realizes two things, first is that she is his mate, and second is that he must convince Lila to leave Skara without the answers for fear she will become the next victim of his old enemy, Mikhail who is a phoenix shifter. I loved these characters! They are both stubborn and ready to fight for a life together and to save the people of Skara. This is a steamy paranormal romance with some suspense, surprising twist, magic, violence and a happily ever after. I think this is a must-read book.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary ARC provided by Book Sirens.
This is Lila and Finn's book. I'm rounding up on this because it's really a 3.75. The whole reason why Lila is sent to investigate bodies, algae, etc is basically ignored after the first chapter or so. We're told it's a ritual but no idea how they fit in. Rafe gets a bigger role than the others in that we get to see him when Moria is taken but we don't get to see the overprotective after the fact.
Lila is a strong female character who questions the science and magic, but Isla is pretty vague. They do come up with a plan to work together. Lila's supposed to be a scientist so there are some "what" moments that shouldn't have happened with her. Finn is just not as alpha in this as he was in the other books. You get a bit of his backstory but it's narrow and the reader feels a bit shortchanged on the dragons and phoenix mythology. That said there's not the normal dance but an easy acceptance.
The book felt like a finality of the series but with an open-ended question or two. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I don't know what I was expecting, but Finn and Lila came together so seamlessly that I forgot there wasn't that romance or getting to know you period. There wasn't even much time working together. They just were.
It took Lila and her analytic, scientific thought processes to figure out what Mikhail's true purpose and intention was for Finn and future dragons.
I enjoyed the descriptions of the dragons, the way they shifted, how they breathed fire, and the claiming process. It was intriguing how Lila figured out there were dragons before she knew for sure. I'm still not quite sure how that came about.
I enjoyed the action, suspense, and the surprise. I also enjoyed the camaraderie, loyalty, and sense of family between the members of the Brotherhood. I hope Jax gets a story. It would be interesting to see what situation occurs for the lone wolf. Rating: 4.5 Stars
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Centuries ago, dragon shifter Finn lost his beloved, Saoirse when his friend Mikhail, a Phoenix shifter killed her, telling him since she was human so she would die and leave him anyway...In Stormhaven, an island community off the coast of Scotland, there have been sightings of drownings without any water in lungs, and blood rituals along, with out of area luminescent cells normally seen in Arctic, so Institute of Marine Research sent Dr. Lila Mercer to research what is happening in these coastal waters...Finn recognizes her as someone who could see through the "magic" to find the paranormal causes of these events, which could be leading to a blood rite to make Mikhail even more powerful...but will he be able to scare her off or will he show his heart to another human female becoming important to the being who has spent most of the last Millenium in the deep water surrounding the island...I voluntarily read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy.
Dragon shifter Finn lost the human he loved centuries ago when a phoenix shifter he thought was a friend killed her. Marine biologist Dr. Lila Mercer comes to Skara to investigate some mysterious deaths that at first appeared to be drownings, but lacked the water in the lungs. All the deaths happened at peak high tide and each body had an unusual deep-ocean, bioluminescent algae on it. Finn's dragon recognizes Lila as his mate, but the human half fights the bond. Finn can't take the death of another woman he loves. He tries to convince her to leave the island, but Lila is stubborn and refuses to give up even after she finds out what he is and that an ancient phoenix shifter is likely to kill her.
Lots of drama and angst. All the main characters have had their books now. We still have Jax, though. Maybe he'll finally lose his lone wolf status.?? I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
This captivating installment blew my mind, yes I loved the previous books in the series, but Finn and Lila were absolutely the best. I awaited Finn's mate storyline with anticipation, yet Delta managed to take me to new heights with her storyline combination of magic and science. Mikhail bent on destroying Finn by killing his mate Saoirse centuries again, is back for the final blow. Lila measures everything with her scientist mind. This wraps action, suspense, family that's pack and spice galore in 1 box. The Battle of Death (my words) was fierce and intense. But Delta was not done yet, the before the end there's a heartfelt surprise in store that set my heart racing with delight. Not just your average HEA. This book has plenty of oomphh. Ps I'm crossing my fingers for a Jax HEA pretty please I received an advanced review copy and leave this review voluntary Thank you BookSirens
This series is very exciting and interesting to read. You will love the characters and every story. Finn is a sexy Dragon shifter on the Isle of Shara. When Finn meets Lila he is very drawn, and protective of her. Can Lila be his true fated mate? You will love this five star plus series!
Siren of the Storm is a fifth book in the Tides of Fate series and an entertaining matchup of the supernatural and romance. Dr. Lila Mercer has arrived on the Isle of Skara to look into mysterious drownings. The Institute of Marine Research thinks there is more than just normal drowning going on in the waters around the island. Shifter Finn Rowan knows why and that brings him in contact with Lila who he wants to leave the Island. Their story is an engaging one that is filled with drama, past trauma, suspense, danger, fated mates, surprises, emotion, passion, magic, and a dragon shifter who fears claiming another mate his enemies will again target. Finn and Lila’s story started centuries ago when his first mate is murdered, it takes this time for Finn to become the man he needs to be and Lila to be born. This is a great storyline, it has murder, magic, second chances and new life. The heat between Finn and Lila burns as hot as their dragon flames. The Brotherhood convenes against an unhinged phoenix from Finn’s past, who’s determined to end his future before it even gets started. I loved this storyline! We get to see all the Brotherhood, their mates and even a sweet glimpse of their futures. 5✨’s for a well written book, character driven story full of heat and heart all on the aisle of Skara. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
May be my favorite of the series! Finn, dragon shifter, has been alone a long time. His old “friend”, Mikhail, killed his last mate, supposedly to free him from the distraction of a mate, but really for his own twisted goals. Centuries later, Lila, a marine biologist, arrives on Skara to investigate unexplained deaths and Finn immediately knows she is his mate. He tries to scare her off and get her to leave but he’s met his match of stubborn. I really enjoyed their bonding. She brings analytics to a process that is magical, contributing to the Brotherhood, Finn’s found family. A really satisfying ending!
I received a free Advance Review Copy of this book and this is my voluntary review.
Fabulous book. Lila and Finn. He has been alone for a millennia living in the deep. She lives in her science behind her microscope. She believes what she can see, taste and touch but when the unexplainable happens what is she to do? Well when she finds out he is a dragon she says yes of course I want to be a dragon too and the rest as they say is history. Well after they take care of the great evil that has been plaguing the island and killing the islanders oh and safely delivering the first naturally born dragon also in millennia. Awesome read lots of fast action and the HEA is so worth the read.
Lila comes to Stormhaven to investigate the ocean and some drownings, but what she finds does not make sense, so she starts asking questions that get her into trouble. Finn’s mate was murdered by his best-friend who stated it was for his own good! Grief has left him isolated and in a dark place. Lila and Finns path is a rocky one with betrayal, fighting and a hard fought for romance. I loved the interactions between Finn and Lila, she is a scientist and this comes across by the way she thinks and works thing out. This is a wonderful series and I have enjoyed each book and am looking forward to the next. I voluntarily received and reviewed an ARC copy of the book.
Mysterious and non-stop action surrounding the troubled waters of the Isle of Skara off the coast of Scotland. When bodies are recovered in the water but they did not drown, the Institute sends Dr. Lila Mercer to investigate. The only person who could help her is Finn Rowan. This human will never be here long enough to discover the secrets hidden among the islanders. Lila draws the attention of the syndicate when she discovers that the bioluminescent algae is being tampered with and cultivated. Finn is drawn to protect his mate. Love this series.

Another fantastic book to read, Stormhaven is the place Lila is human and a marine biologist, she is testing the current and the temperature of the water. Chief Catriona MacLeod organized a boat so Lila can do the job she was hired to do. Finn was married until his oldest friend Mikhail killed her both shifters, now they are wanting to kill each other. Finn knows so much about the water Catriona, took Lila to talk to him. Finn knows Lila is his fated mate and needs to protect her from Mikhail and try's to send her away except Mikhail already knows.
Siren of the Storm is the fifth book in the Tides of Fate series. The story line is well crafted and keeps the reader on the edge of their seats. As a fated mates paranormal suspense the pacing and storybuilding were superb. As the danger intensifies on Skara a dragon, the Brotherhood and a scietist must all learn to trust and work together. Finn knows that Lila is his fated mate and must get her to leave the island permanently. The twist and turns will keep you guessing and eagerly finishing this book. Will Finn be able to trust Lila with his secret? Will Mikhail be able to recreate history and hurt Finn all over again. If you could be dragon for a day, would you do it. Will Finn and Lila realize the bond they have is onky getting stronger. This books brings the an update of the Brotherhood members and their families. Nice way to end Finn and Lila's story.
Loved the book. A dragon who lost his bonded human by his best friend and has called off getting involved in a mate. A scientist who is researching the bioluminescent algae and is struggling to understand the science behind it. Mikhail is part of the Synicate, Finn's best friend and is behind the killings in Stormhaven. Lila is Finn's mate and he can't make her leave the island. They will have to work together to stop Mikhail and save the brotherhood from being destroyed. I enjoyed this book that is full of drama, danger, emotions and a happy ending.
