They say revenge is best served cold. She's about to serve the best platter yet.
Savannah Bristow wasn't the reckless type, but after catching her boyfriend in bed with her cousin—then finding out he's marrying her—she refuses to show up to their wedding alone. She needs a charming, bright smile, clean cut man to make her family swoon and make her ex regret ever losing her.
She matched with the perfect guy for the job, but that isn't who showed up to meet her. In his place was his best friend.
Jaxon Cage. The tattooed, illegally handsome, sharp-tongued menace who tormented her through high school—the last person she ever wanted to be dating, fake or not.
But Jaxon’s not the same boy she remembers. Beneath the cocky smirk is a man carrying his own demons, and when he offers to show her how to bring a man to his knees, the lessons start to cross a line neither of them ever expected to.
Now Jaxon can’t tell where the act ends and the truth begins, and it doesn't take long for him to realize that she might be the one he'd ever fall to his knees for.

Fake dating. Hate to love. One wedding, one bet, and one very bad idea.
Show Me How is a steamy, addictive university romance about second chances, past scars, and the moment a good girl decides to be bad for all the right reasons.
Thank you for this early copy. All parts of this review are of my honest opinion. I enjoyed reading this book! The fake dating trope is one of my favorites, and Ashleigh Reeds absolutely nailed it with this one.
The chemistry between the main characters was quick and so fun to watch unfold. They really tried to fight it. I loved the perfect balance of banter, sweet moments, and tension. The revenge aspect added the perfect amount of drama to keep me interested without feeling forced. I was rooting for the main characters. The cousin and ex were the worst!!
The only thing I think I would change is the book was a a little long. I felt it towards the last half of the book.
If you love a fast paced romance with great characters and plenty of butterflies, definitely pick this one up. Definitely recommend!
This was a pretty solid read, I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and dynamics Ashleigh created. They had personality and depth and had me eager for wanting to read more about them. I honestly wasn’t too sure who the next book would be about until the end 🤣 lowkey kind of loved it because it means she did a great job setting all the characters up.
I loved Savannah, an aspiring lawyer, a little uptight bookworm with a touch of sass and our MMC Jaxon, who with that name is everything you imagine and more. This needs to be an audiobook, I can only imagine his parts coming to life 🥵
It did feel a little long but the plot came together and it was well paced. Im a fan of fake dating, even though in Sav’s position I would have never even showed up to the wedding but I see her perspective and it plays to how Savannah is as a person.
I’m lowkey sat for book 2 🪑 pretty sure I texted my sis that I wanted a whole book on them.
It’s a good read, if you like fake dating and aspects of found family, you’ll enjoy it!
Omg this book has literally all my favorite tropes * fake dating * Tattoos * Biker * Enemies to lovers * Second chance romance (sorta!)
I’m completely obsessed with Savannah and Jaxon! In the beginning I wasn’t sure how this was going to go once we got some back story with their first meeting. But man it was so good!!!!
Also the supporting characters were phenomenal. The friend group chat was the best!! Nerissa is the best girls girl and just what Savannah needed!! And gramma V all I can say is YES! Go read this one yall!!
ARC Review: Thank you, Ashleigh, for the opportunity to read this!
This book was my first from Ashleigh Reeds, and baby, it did NOT disappoint. The plot was well thought out and quite perfect, to be honest. The villains in this book deserved far worse, but that's another story for another time.
Savannah, our FMC, started out so hard but with just cause, but as the story progressed and rooted for her more and more. And Jaxon, my Jaxon... "That's a good man, Savannah" (Although he wasn't always good). As fake boyfriends go, he did what needed to be done and quite well, if I might add! And his what was pierced?!?! Oh my stars!!
The chemistry and tension between Savannah and Jaxon was phenomenal. The slow burn made you feel every bit of their desire, but once they got spicy, it was HOT! If you have a praise kink, you will be giggling throughout this book.
It was steamy with tons of personal growth by both characters. Their friends rounded out their story so well.
I did NOT expect this book to hit me like this 🫠📚 I literally devoured it in one sitting 🤭 Jaxon was such a treat to read about. I loved how calm and steady he was, especially while Savannah was having her moments 😂 Their dynamic just worked so well, and I really enjoyed how both of them were so ambitious in their own fields, it added so much depth to the story.
And of course, the found family trope had me completely hooked 🫶🏻 every single character had their own vibe and I loved all of them. I already can’t wait for book 2 😭
Show Me How was a such a fun fake dating romance. Jaxon was by far one of my favorite MMCs as of late. He was not only entertaining but I loved his protective nature when it came to those he loved. Jaxon's was such a strong character and I loved everything about it.
While I loved seeing Savannah grow as a person throughout the story she felt like a harder to connect with character. I really loved her interactions with Jaxon, Nerissa and their entire friend group. Savannah & Nerissa had such a fun and easy friendship. Honestly I am even more excited for us to hopefully get Nerissa as of FMC eventually because she just gives all the main character energy.
I had such a good time reading this book! I enjoyed the personal growth of the main characters and how the FMC becomes a badass like she deserves to be. Perfect for people who love inked "bad boys" and romance books!
ARC REVIEW Show Me How by Ashleigh Reeds ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (3.75/5)
There is truly nothing I love more than a well-done reformed bully romance, and Jaxon absolutely delivered on that front.
Back in high school, Jax made Savannah’s life miserable with constant teasing and cruel pranks. Now, years later, Savannah suddenly needs a fake boyfriend to survive three straight weeks of wedding events… because her cousin is marrying Savannah’s ex-fiancé. Brutal. Naturally, the last person she wants to rely on is Jaxon. Unfortunately for her, he is very determined to prove he’s not the same guy he used to be—and honestly? Watching him try to earn her trust was one of my favorite parts of the book.
I really liked Savannah. She’s ambitious, intelligent, and unapologetically focused on her future as a law student. Her ex cheating on her because she prioritized her goals honestly just made me root for her harder. I love an FMC who refuses to shrink herself or compromise her dreams for a man. And while she’s definitely bookish and driven, the story never boxes her into the “uptight nerd” stereotype—she’s confident, sexy, and fully capable of holding her own against Jax.
And Jax? Extremely my type, unfortunately. Former football player turned tattooed, motorcycle-riding bad boy is already dangerous enough, but making him secretly obsessed with Savannah? Fatal. Savannah’s grandmother calling him a “tall glass of champagne” honestly deserves its own award because yes. That is exactly the vibe.
What really worked for me, though, is that his redemption feels genuine. The book doesn’t excuse his past behavior, and Jax himself fully acknowledges how badly he treated Savannah. A traumatic experience forced him to reevaluate who he was, and therapy became a meaningful part of his growth rather than a throwaway detail. But the best part? This man is absolutely down bad for her. From the very beginning, Savannah is completely under his skin, and every moment of yearning, protectiveness, and barely-contained devotion ate me alive.
Overall, this was fun, swoony, and packed with the kind of emotional payoff I want from a bully-to-lovers romance.
This was my first book by Ashleigh and it certainly won’t be my last! I’m officially invested in this series and these characters. I loved Savannah and I kind of wish I could be her when I grow up. I love how strong she was, but she also learned a lot in this book about how to be softer and let people in. She had a not so great history with Jaxon, but it was great to see her learn to let him in after a while. It took her some time and some internal reflections, but she realized that he wasn’t the same person she remembered from high school and he grew up and changed a lot. Jaxon was the bad boy tattoo artist that speaks to my soul! I loved that he was determined to show Savannah that she was worth being cherished and treated right by someone. He showed her in all the big and little ways that he saw her and wanted her, and it was great to watch. It was also hilarious to watch him mess with Savannah’s ex the few times they all interacted. Her ex had said some terrible things to her that messed with her head, but I loved seeing Jaxon prove to Savannah that those words weren’t true and that he was a real man who would communicate with her and take his time to treat her right and satisfy her in every way. 😏 I loved seeing Savannah find a chosen family in this story with Jaxon and his friends. Seeing her connect and find an amazing friendship with Nerissa made me smile (and I loved seeing them get into all kinds of silly trouble together). Basically Savannah and Jaxon made me feel all the things during this book and if you want a book with a strong FMC who learns to be soft for the secretly sweet bad boy, this is the book for you! This was such a great story and I can’t wait to see what happens next in this fun friend group!
Thank you, Ashleigh, for providing me with an ARC!
Ashleigh Reeds is a new-to-me author and she did not disappoint! This story has some of the hottest slow burn I’ve read. Seriously, someone get the fire hose, because, phew! Did I mention that the MMC is tattooed and pierced (yes, THERE.)
Savannah catches her fiance cheating on her with her cousin, and the two of them proceeed to get engaged. Of course, since Savannah is family, she gets invited to ALL the wedding events. Rather than show up humiliated, embarrased, and ALONE, she decides to find a fake date. As a lawyer in the making, she goes about this very methodically, finding the perfect guy via an online dating app. He underestands what she's asking for, agrees to it, but unexpectedly has to leave the country for a work trip, sending his best friend in his stead. Turns out that Jaxon and Savannah went to high school together, where he, as a HS jock was a total asshole to her because she was a resident bookworm. He commits to helping her regardless for reasons of his own.
Savannah has all the reasons to be hesitant to trust and let people in, especially since Jaxon hurt her in the past. Her family is awful, short of her grandmother, who is an absolute delight. She fights her growing attraction to Jaxon at every turn until...
Jaxon has demons of his own and agrees to help Savannah. Once he realizes he was so horrible to her in the past, he works to right the wrongs, all while making her ex INSANELY jealous. What starts out as fake dating with a swoon level of TEN quickly becomes real to him. Unfortunately, Savannah's got some really high walls to climb!
This was such a fun and at the same time frustrating read. Our girl has been through the ringer and she refuses to budge even when the hot, tattoed man is worshiping the ground she walks on. The amount of change and love we see brought into her life throughout this book is phenominal.
Savannah: As a law student and an all around badass, she doesn’t have time for idiotic men and their drama (yes, this is about you, Chase). After her ex cheats on her she hatches a plan to show up with a new guy. Unfortunately the world has a sick sense of humor, and Jaxon falls into her lap after years of not seeing her. Through aggrivation and sheer desperation, she asks him to pretend to be her date for the month of wedding activies. It’s a roller coaster of fun, sexy moments, sweet gestures, and our girl absolutely losing her mind trying to figure out how to not fall in love with him after swearing off all men (spoiler alert, it doesn’t work). Savannah is such a beautiful representation of finding yourself when you’re an adult, and giving love a second chance.
Jaxon: I’m obsessed. The second he stepped into this book, I loved his character. He is trying to be so much better than he was as a teenager and his yearning is out of this world. As a favor to his friend he ends up meeting some “random” girl to help her get revenge and when he meets Savannah all bets are off, and he’s playing for keeps. He teachers her to have fun and he loves every single piece of her.
This story mixed with the ensemble cast (obsessed with Nerissa) truly brings it to life. I couldn’t get enough of it.
Revenge is a dish best served spicy! Thank you to the author for gifting me this amazing ARC! Show Me How is a dual POV Contemporary romance novel and is the first in the Written In Ink series. It follows Savannah, a law student who hires Benji as a fake boyfriend to make her cheating ex-fiance jealous, and Jaxon, the man who shows up in Benji's place and drives Savannah crazy in more ways than one.
Wow, this book was great! Ashleigh’s writing really sucked me in and wouldn't let me go. I love when fake dating turns into something more and watching the relationship grow. It makes me so giddy. I loved watching Savannah grow and realize that she is a strong woman all on her own. Watching Jaxon fall for her and defend her, fantasy come true. I loved the banter between the two and Savannah with her witty comebacks. The heat and chemistry between them was palpable. I love when I can practically taste the emotion coming off the characters. The tattoo shop guys were all amazing and I really hope that something happens between Nerissa and Jesse.
This book was great and I can't wait to see what's in store for Benji and the rest of the guys.

Summary: Savannah's world was rocked when she caught her boyfriend cheating...with her cousin. Now they're engaged, and she is in the market for revenge. What better way to show what her ex is missing than getting a new man? Enter Jaxon, Savannah's high school bully turned reformed bad boy. They embark on a fake dating journey that reveals a whole lot of truths they weren't prepared for.
My thoughts: This book DID NOT DISAPPOINT! In the beginning, I struggled with Savannah as a character because of her hardness. But that's the beauty of the writing and character development in this book. The writing was so good. The more you read, the more you understand her as a person. I loved reading Savannah's arc into a softer, more open character.
Jaxon Cage was a hand necklace king. In all seriousness, he was a great character. Good men tend to surround themselves with good people, and his found family was perfection. He liked and admired Savannah just as she was, despite everything. There is one particular phone conversation that had me melting and falling in love with him even more.
The plot was perfect. The bad guys were especially despicable, and I may have throat punched my Kindle...multiple times. I am so pumped to continue this series!
Well apparently so does watching your ex propose to your cousin with your ring while the video goes viral. 😭
Show Me How pulled me in immediately and never really let go. The dedication alone set the tone perfectly, and Jax Cage became one of my favorite parts of the entire book almost instantly.
Jax was everything I wanted him to be - supportive, patient, possessive in the hot way, and deeply invested in Savannah long before she was ready to admit her feelings. The chemistry between them was SO good, especially during the fake dating and forced proximity moments.
The real surprise for me though was how much I loved Jax’s crew. Nerissa, Benji, Jesse, and Avi made the story feel layered and comforting despite all the drama. That found family dynamic carried so much emotional weight, and I’m especially excited for Benji’s book now.
Savannah herself was a little harder for me to connect with at times because she kept denying what was clearly there between her and Jax, but her trust issues made sense considering the absolute nightmare trio of Chase, Lori, and her mother.
And listen… every scene with Chase or Lori had me ready to fight fictional characters. Ashleigh Reeds did an excellent job making them genuinely unbearable.
Also: Mama V supremacy. That’s it. That’s the statement.
This was emotional, spicy, messy, comforting, and addictive in all the right ways.
First I want to thank you to the author for letting me read this ARC for Show Me How story!
This is my first time reading this author and I got to say, I LOVED IT!! It has been real hot minute since I read a fake dating trope and I just about ATE. THIS. UP.
This story was written so well for a reader like me. It had the tension, angst, chemistry, bad boy, good girl, the "I shouldnt but I reeaallllyyy want them" feelings. This is for sure a book I'm going to purchase as soon as its available.
I loved Savannah and Jaxons chemistry. They had the best banter and to see how this relationship developed was everything. I truly could feel the back and forth for Savannah. A soon to be lawyer who just had her world shaken up by a dipshit of an ex? Jaxon, who comes to be her her fake boyfriend but acts anything but with this "I will be on my KNEES for this queen" was just the cherry on top!! PLUS PIERCED PEEN!! I mean, I couldnt get enough!
This story was so good I can't wait to recommend it to my friends. Not only did the MC's have great chemistry, but the side characters added to this story as well. It makes me excited to read what this author is going to put out next!
If you love fake dating, opposites attract, he falls first and HARD, a strong FMC, and found family, this is 100% the book for you!!
This was such a fun little spicy romance. I couldn't imagine my ex-fiance marrying my cousin and then them expecting me to attend.
I do have to see it was slightly unrealistic how everyone was so supportive of their relationship even though they knew how it started, but I understand that it is a plot device to help with the story.
I really like Savannah as a character, she's a very strong independent woman, which I love of course. And Jaxon is such a bad boy, with a little golden retriever streak for his lady, even when she hasn't really his yet.
I'm not the biggest fan of insta-love or insta-lust, which Jaxon obviously falls under. However, Savannah still managed to make it a little bit of a slow burn, which I am an absolute sucker for.
Yeah, overall I just had a good time with this book. I enjoyed the story and the plot, but it wasn't anything particularly special. I've read a few stories like it before.
So, if you like a good fake dating story with a lot of spice. A strong independen fmc good girl and a very charming bad boy mmc who will do absolutely everything for the girl he loves. 100% recommend this one!!
Thank you to the author for allowing me to read this book early! All opinions and feelings are my own and completely honest.
Just finished Show Me How and I absolutely loved it. This was my first book by this author, and it definitely did not disappoint.
I loved both Savannah and Jaxon Cage. Savannah is a lawyer in the making, and Jaxon owns a tattoo parlour. They went to high school together, but now Savannah needs a fake boyfriend after being invited to her ex’s wedding — the same ex who cheated on her. So of course, she decides to show up with Jaxon for a little revenge.
This book had all my favorite tropes: 🖤 Fake dating 🖤 Revenge romance 🖤 Tattoos 🖤 Biker boy 🖤 Hate-to-love vibes
I seriously could not get enough of Jaxon. Even though the relationship started off fake, the way he was completely there for Savannah had me obsessed. He was patient, supportive, protective, and possessive in the best way.
Also, I absolutely hated her ex and her cousin 😭 but I loved all the side characters, especially Narissa and she was exactly the kind of person Savannah needed.
The chemistry, tension, and banter between Savannah and Jaxon were so good from start to finish.
If fake dating, revenge romance, tattooed biker boys, and insane chemistry are your vibe… definitely pick this one up 🖤
The tension, banter and the spice zooweeeeee mama. This book was deliciously good.
Savannah is in dire need of a boyfriend after finding out that her cousin(swiper no swiping) and her nastyyy ex are getting married. A few glasses of wine probably the whole bottle leads her to a dating app. Searching for something temporary just to get through it. This leads to Benji the perfect man to lessen the problem. Sadly(😝) he can't make it. So his replacement is Jaxon.
Ahhhh I love this book. Fake dating, dislike to lovers, he falls first and forced proximity are some of my favorite tropes!!!
Jaxon. He blew his fake boyfriend role to the max. I was laughing and swoon every other chapter. One of my favorite things he did was at the wedding shower. I was laughing as it unfolded. I loved that he did anything to make Savannah less uncomfortable. From uplifting her to showing up and putting anyone in their place for her. Thats a good man Savannah.
Savannah. I loved her fiery personality. She may have let her family step all over her. But she knew how to tell away one off. Because she didn't let Jaxon rest when it came to her fast replies and funny clapbacks. I loved seeing her blossom into Savannah in the ending. She showed rechange and I quite happy for her. You should have seen me clapping and cheering them on.
The spice ooooo. It was spice as hell. Jaxon and Savannah put it downnnn.
I'm definitely add this author to my must read at all cost. I definitely getting a copy to display on my book shelves.
Thank you Ashleigh Reeds for this ARC opportunity!
This book made me fall in love with fake dating! I was hooked from the very beginning. The chemistry and the banter between the main characters Savannah and Jaxson was everything and more. The character development was beautifully written as well.
Savannah catches her fiancé cheating on her with her cousin of all people. Now she’s expected to attend the wedding and all of the festivities. There’s no way she could attend alone so what better way to show them that she has moved on than to show up with a hot new boyfriend. The last person she would have expected for that to be, however, is Jaxson who didn’t make her life easy when they were in high school. Luckily for her he is determined to prove to her that he isn’t the same person he once was.
Whey did I relate to the FMC so much?! This was a very fast, very spicy book!! I love that he falls first. Some of the spicy parts, I wasn't expecting and I was pleasantly surprised. I haven't read a book yet that had those features (I'm newer to the spicy part of the genre). This book was a great read! I read it in a day and didn't want to put it down once I started it. I also want to make note that the author did a great job writing each and every single one of her characters. None of them felt like a "stand in" if you will! They all had a purpose, a plan, and were well crafted! That was great to see. But, ultimately, the relationship between the FMC and MMC was to die for. I loved this book! Great job!
Here’s the thing. I loved most parts of this book and when I first started reading it, it had everything that I needed but then things felt like they were dragging which made the story boring.
I couldn’t understand why Savannah was so fast to forgive someone who humiliated her. I expected more groveling but it felt like they were so quick to pretend nothing happened.
I honestly wanted to like this book and honestly they were some things I liked. The friend’s dynamics being one of them and the smut being the second. The writing was also pretty solid and for a debut, I think this was pretty good.
However, I think there’s room for improvements. Unfortunately, I couldn’t finish this book but I wouldn’t write this author off completely.
Loved this read! I’m such a sucker for fake dating it’s one of my favourites and this book was such a vibe! Love a good revenge on the ex especially when the man your fake dating is a biker, artist and owns his own tattoo studio… but I guess the downside is he was your childhood bully? 🫣 Jax is a protective MMC who will do anything to stand up for and protect the people he loves. And when his best friend asked for a favour he couldn’t say no. If you’re looking for your next fake dating romance pick up this read! The start of an interconnected standalone series that’s just going to get more and more amazing!
Wow, hot damn best fake boyfriend ever, he took his very job seriously.
Jaxson and Savannah were the best, their banter, bickering and her hatred for him, with good reasons of course as no one really wants to work with their tormentor from highschool but she refuses to go to her ex's and cousins wedding alone after what they did.
I truly loved how everything went down and the characters were lovable and some were down right disgusting. This is a long book and I loved every second of it. I'm looking forward to other books in this series.
Oh this was a good one! The chemistry between Jaxon and Savannah was amazing, the writing, the plot, and the story flowed well and was easy to read. O enjoyed the story and the characters were so easy to love and hated for certain ones.
I did think it was a little longer than it needed to be and certain scenes could have been shortened, but other than that I absolutely loved this one! I can't wait for the next addition!
The yearning and passion between these two was HIGH in this book! I love a good fake dating romance, and Ashleigh absolutely delivered!! Jaxon was just everything and more with how attentive he was to her, and even though they had a rocky past, challenges help them overcome the toughest hurdle - figuring out their emotions. The spice was there, found family was strong, and I found myself kicking my feet at the end. Worth the read!!
It was fun, but had wayyyy too many plot holes. The whole "childhood bully" plotline made absolutely no sense, since it had barely anything to do with their dynamic. Apart from maybe a couple of instances, you could barely tell that they had a prior established relationship. There was no reconciliation or explanation as to why he treated her like that when they were younger. There were a bunch of things that could've been written out entirely or written differently.
I was pleasantly surprised with this book. I thought to give it a a go and I really liked it. The mother issue was resolved rather quickly and I couldn’t understand why the family expected her to be present for all this. Also, the subtle bully timeline from high school was instantly dissolved and I expected to be more of a focus.
