A palm reading told me my fated mate lives on a remote Scottish island—shrouded in darkness I can't see through.

So, I'm going undercover. Binding my wolf. Pretending to be human. Infiltrating Kintra Pack's distillery to find him.

What I don't expect is for my mate to be Alpha Auley—ruggedly gorgeous, carrying shadows he doesn't understand, and teaching me to taste whisky like it's foreplay.

But, with my wolf bound, he doesn't recognise me. Can't sense what we are. And every time he gets close, the dark magic punishes him—nosebleeds, headaches, and a compulsion to push me away.
Worse? I discover the dark magic is in Kintra's whisky itself. Someone is poisoning my mate and controlling the entire pack through hexed whisky.

Now I'm racing against the full moon to break the hex before the witch within Kintra Pack realises what I am—and eliminates the threat to her power.

A Scottish Highland shifter romance featuring sunshine heroine meets grumpy cursed hero, forbidden undercover love, mate bonds stolen by dark magic, and whisky that tastes like sin.

Review of advance copy

This is the second installment in the Curse Clans series by author Skye Bryher. It follows the story of Mina, who risks everything to find her mate when a fortune predicts that he's in trouble. Set in the same world as the first book, this installment weaves a beautiful picture of the remote Scottish countryside. Familiar characters are fun to follow. The new characters are muted in a way that was frustrating at first, but it all comes together when you figure out why. Also as with the first book, the portions of the narrative that are internal monologue were a bit choppy and hard to follow, but I think that's maybe just a style choice that doesn't appeal to me as much as it might to others.

As with the first book, this installment tees up the next one, and I'm looking forward to it.

Many thanks to BookSirens for an ARC in exchange for my honest assessment of this work.

I’m so glad I read The Hexed Alpha, after not having a great experience with the first book in the series. The author really stepped up her game! This book was well-done, though there was some repetition and editorial mistakes. I loved the premise of this story, and thought Mina and Auley were great together. Great job!

I received a copy of The Hexed Alpha from BookSirens and am voluntarily sharing my review.
