Gah! How does this author keep making me feel this way?! Giddy, sad, hopeful, in love. She gives you ALL the feels. It’s amazing how creative she is. We start this second book in the series with happy, carefree Mina who’s about to embark on the most important secret mission of her life. During what should have been a fun reading, Kenna, sees a dire possibility in Mina’s future. The Kintra pack has always been standoffish, they’re secretive and suspicious of outsiders. This is Mina’s mission, infiltrate the Kintra pack and find her true mate. Oh and release them from a dark hex. Piece of cake! What she finds when she arrives after a horrible binding is an Alpha unaware of what is happening and a pack deeply suspicious of others. This isn’t going to be easy but to free her mate Mina will go to any lengths, tell any lies and possibly lose him forever but it’d be worth it for him to be free! Their attraction is deep, their love is fated but evil is hovering over them and poised to strike. It will take all Mina’s love and passion to save Auley, maybe even her life. This is such a great story, you have to read it!

This book is a beautiful continuation to the series. This time following the path of Mina, another shifter, who finds out where her mate is, but she cant get to him because there is a dark magic in the way of their bond.

In comes Auley - 29, Alpha of the Kintra pack and HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS OF EVERYONE- especially those outside of the close knit pack he has. So much so that his insistence to keeping everything in the pack and the pack isolated as much as possible borders on the end of extreme paranoia.

In an effort to help her mate, Mina goes undercover to figure out how this dark magic has woven itself through the very fabric of the bonds within the Kintra pack and what she finds out threatens her mate, his pack, her life and their bond.

Is love truly strong enough to break the ties?

I loved how original this story was. I haven’t read the first one, but this one was easy to dive into. I didn’t feel like I was missing anything. I loved the suspense and mystery of this one. Going undercover to find out what was going on, loved it. Loved the island and distillery as well as the fated mates. I was really happy when everything came together the way it was meant to. It was the perfect amount of steam between these two. This story held depth and a wonderful balance that kept me turning the pages.

This is a book two but reading book one isn't needed. I do want to go back and read it though because I loved this one so much. Mina has to go undercover into the Kintra pack who are suspicious of outsiders to find her mate. Sounds super easy! But with her wolf bound, Auley (the Alpha) doesn't recognise her. And on top of that he's hexed so anytime they get close the hex pulls them apart. So Mina has to figure out how to break his hex and get him out before she's found. It was such a wonderful take on fated mates that I hadn't read before so I really enjoyed it.

I’m so glad I read The Hexed Alpha, after not having a great experience with the first book in the series. The author really stepped up her game! This book was well-done, though there was some repetition and editorial mistakes. I loved the premise of this story, and thought Mina and Auley were great together. Great job!

This book is so enjoyable. It has action, adventure, true love, romance and nefarious baddies! I love Mina and how she is prepared to sacrifice her life, wolf… everything to free Auley from the chains that have surrounded him and his pack for years. I love the cat and mouse games, the danger and the dialogue that ramps up the tension. The is such an entertaining and all-encompassing read!

This was a good read. It kept me on my toes. I had a gut feeling on who was doing the hexing. I was right but it was so much more than just the hexing. I could feel the desperation from both mmc and fmc.

I enjoyed this book. Whilst being a little slow to get into once it was there it was there. The bond between fated mates is tested, thanks to dark magic, can it win through. Mina and Auley are wonderful characters that with brought to life beautifully through the page of The Hexed Alpha.

This is the second installment in the Curse Clans series by author Skye Bryher. It follows the story of Mina, who risks everything to find her mate when a fortune predicts that he's in trouble. Set in the same world as the first book, this installment weaves a beautiful picture of the remote Scottish countryside. Familiar characters are fun to follow. The new characters are muted in a way that was frustrating at first, but it all comes together when you figure out why. Also as with the first book, the portions of the narrative that are internal monologue were a bit choppy and hard to follow, but I think that's maybe just a style choice that doesn't appeal to me as much as it might to others.

As with the first book, this installment tees up the next one, and I'm looking forward to it.
