Puppet Town has won its war with the Crimson Claws and put the undead stampede to rest, but another storm is brewing along the horizon. That ferocious swarm of reanimated beasts was only the first wave.
A tsunami of ravenous critters is surging toward the settlement, led by a kaiju of epic proportion.
Edge and his friends have two weeks to prepare for their toughest battle yet. When the clock hits zero, a thousand undead beasts and an alien squid the size of a mountain will be knocking at their door.
Will this be the end of our skill-eating hero or his biggest meal ever?
Book 4 of an action packed LitRPG adventure set in a world where artifacts known as Cores let their bearers wield the planet’s magic, and where Skills grant superhuman abilities and kaiju roam the wilds. It's perfect for fans of Solo Leveling, The Primal Hunter, and 1% Lifesteal!
I love, Love, LOVE this book! It's the Best Evarrr! I know, I know I said that for book3 as well but it's true! I really like the fact that the Spells are Sapient and Edge has made them his friends actually asking and listening to their responses. Wow Rue, Edge's Beast Companion she's AwesomeSauce and she takes the Gold in this action-packed litRPG adventure. There’s that Kaiju, a tier four undead Kraken that Edge and his team has'ta stop before it reaches Puppet Town, before it runs rampant through their their town destroying everything they love. But first they level up as quickly as possible. So yeah grab the book and sink your teeth in the fight!
Here's a few quotes:
"A foe that could never be killed, only subdued for another day before resuming its unending quest to conquer her desktop—paperwork."
"Your new arm looks badass. You could say the construction is rock solid.”
"Rue was studying the proceeding with an intensity that was normally reserved for sausages alone..."
Edge and Puppet Town, having barely survived attacks from the city of prisoners, have learned a titanic undead kaiju is on its way with an army of undead monsters – all determined to wiped out the living. And if they somehow survive, there's more danger ahead for Puppet Town. Nearly six hundred pages of story to enjoy. At times, almost relentless, yet somehow, the suspense kept ramping up, and I was curious as to how everything would resolve.
Excellent editing. If the epilogue is anything to go by, the stakes and danger for Edge and his five trusted companions, the frying pan just got hotter. Looking forward to the next volume in the series. Enjoyed.
Where the story actually progressed, this was a decent continuation of the series. Unfortunately, the amount of absolutely egregious repetition is a transparent and frustrating attempt at stretching 1/3rd of a book into a full title. From describing every single avatar in excruciating detail for a criminal % of the book’s start, to constantly entirely repeating context at the start of a chapter that we just got drowned in at the end of the immediately previous chapter, this was a SLOG to get through compared to the previous books, and has me concerned that the author has checked out.
A good continuation of this LitRPG epic. This entry focuses heavily on character development amongst the cast of characters that have been building in the wings of the last 3 novels. If this was part of a TV series, the first half of the novel would be the episode before the season finale; character development, plans setting in motion, last minute training montages, and everyone coming to grips with the stakes of the oncoming fight. The second half is the two part season finale! Enemies at the gate, the main hero advancing to fight the enemy forces, while characters we know fight their own battles as well. A well done narrative by the author.
Was a good book no real complaints besides the fact the slot of skill hunting was skimmed over which kinda defeats.the name and them of the book still though was good and will read the next book
