Writing has never been optional for Nikita Parmenter. Like eating and breathing, it’s something integral to their existence. Everyday they are thankful to be able to make a career from something that brings them so much pleasure.
It wasn’t easy getting their first break in the publishing world. Fortunately, a close friend and literary agent saw their potential in 2000 and that was the beginning of the first chapter of their professional literary life. Since then, Nikita Parmenter Author has published a number of short stories and bestselling books.
So this is going to be a short but sweet review... I seriously can't enough of this book series! Man, the final chapter of this book had me screaming and jumping up and down in my seat and left me on a cliffhanger! OMG, I seriously can't wait for the next book of this installment. l would suggest that this book series to be added to someone's reading list today, it's just that darn good.
Since Amazon has been restricting my reviews I hope this one makes it through. This book does finally answer one of the mystery questions but it is the one that was extremely obvious. And for once there weren’t more new mysteries added. The character even alludes to the fact that there are too many mystery questions to keep track of. There was very little plot development other than the mystery of Baz being revealed.
The formatting of the book is offputting and not typical for this author. It makes the book seem longer than it is. So while most of the book is filler with very little plot development it seems like it is longer.
I gave the book two stars for resolving the Baz identity issue otherwise it would have been one for the lack of plot development, formatting (which has been throughout the entire series and is unusual for this author, so it seems purposeful), and filler.
WHAT. THE. ABSOLUTELY. INSANITY. IN. A. FUCK. JUST. HAPPENED. THAT. ENDING.
So essentially throughout the book, we see Neith and her guys dealing with one problem after the next, especially with adding the newest member to their team.
We’re still slow going in regards to the bigger at large problem but like Neith says earlier in the book that’s something that’s not gonna be dealt with overnight and is going to be a long drawn out problem. She even goes into detail, listing all of the different issues and not even all of them that they have to deal with.
A lot A LOT of things happen in this book and a lot of things come to life and I really don’t want to spoil it but what in absolute fuck was that ending? I am flabbergasted and shocked beyond belief because that’s not at all where I thought it was going.
If you read my reviews before you’ve seen that, I am a person that has to read the ending first before I read the book so I already knew it was gonna happen, but I didn’t realize that it was gonna happen like that until you read the actual details of what was going on
Baz is who you think he is but also not. And that sounds super confusing and trust me even if I try to explain it myself, you wouldn’t understand unless you actually read the book.
Nikita you are the absolute queen when it comes to leaving me on the edge of my seat and wishing that I could pay exuberant amount of money to make you write the next book faster because I need booked 10 tomorrow. This was amazing and I cannot wait to see how things happen from here.
It does leave us with more questions in regards to our FMC and her heritage simply because now it is something that has been brought into question again due to a vision she had and someone giving her confirmation that her parents are indeed her birth parents. I honestly if you don’t read this author, I seriously don’t know what’s wrong with you. She is absolutely phenomenal when it comes to writing paranormal romance, especially across multiple books when you were like damn the series isn’t over yet, but yeah it’s long but it’s amazing and I will forever buy everything this woman writes.

WARNING! Cliffhanger! Ok this one is actually more hook than hanger, and actually rates lower on my trauma scale because of it. I’d call this one a 3/5 and more “Ah-HA!” than anything else.
Picking up where book eight left off, our crew find themselves on the moors, looking for something they’ve been instructed to search for. They don’t leave things there though, as we see them dealing with some downtime, a trip to the gargoyles, and some very intriguing events that both answer questions as well as pose some! As usual, it’s a fast paced story, with a number of steamy scenes, a lot of dirty thoughts (mostly Neith), plenty of inner ramblings (also mostly Neith, though she has apparently infected her men), and a few laugh out loud moments.
“And they are ******* my men, a cave said so.”
(My personal favourite quote). It does have to be read as part of the ongoing series, and yes, in order, because no you can’t just jump into the middle of the story. Although there are similarities to the author’s other series, there aren’t any crossovers, so feel free to start this series on its own. I have to admit I have never enjoyed a cliffhanger/hook more than this one- as a notorious hater of cliffhangers, similar readers might be encouraged to know that this one actually left me giggling, and saying “Hah! I KNEW it!”. Now I’m honestly excited to see where the next book takes us, because this one both answered so many questions, and yet set up a lot more complications for our crew. Not that I king, I actually enjoyed this deeper world building, and I’m looking forward to seeing where it takes us. Fractured Lore is for RH lovers that enjoy stories that continue through many books, features pretty much a stable of MMCs, and have heroines (and a couple of heroes) with long rambling thought monologues that make you laugh (or possibly cause you concern as you resemble them).
This book spent half if not more of its time with inner dialog. I feel like I wasted time because not much really happened and so much more could have taken place. The author seems to think that the characters constant thoughts are more amusing then the actual story. It gets old....I mean after nine books we get it.....move on to something else. And, do they have to say "thank f**k". What a stupid thing to say....it makes the characters sound uneducated and stupid....in fact for as smart as they are they seem to have a terrible vocabulary. I mean what are they middle schoolers trying to impress each other by talking with a constant potty mouth! I believe adults with the amount of knowledge that they have would not talk so low class. So, I just thought this book was short on actual story development and with as many things that are still happening and questions that just keep going unanswered it seems hard to believe you can do this story justice with just one more book. Hopefully it will be worth waiting for.
Ive got to say this series has blown me away so far. Honestly when i see a series with 6 or more books i always think ehhh thats going to get boring eventually or repetitive. I cant believe how many books this series has and it still keeps me on the edge of my seat the entire time. It has so many twists and turns i didnt see coming at all. I hope we get a couple more books tho i want to see what happens with dimi and this new guy plus we still dont know about the unicorn thing yet and there is still 2 threats out there plus the guy that got away so im praying for 2-3 more at least!! Im so in love with these characters i will truly be sad when it ends but i can promise you this, i will definitely be rereading this series a few time its that good!! 🩵🩷💛💚💙💜🧡❤️🩶🖤
I mean the crazy things this woman has to go through & deal with is tremendous.
I mean thankfully she has all of these incredible men behind her completely & are willing to do whatever it takes to figure out what’s going on with Casimir & Pete & Trieneliea.
But they just keep having new things thrown at them & side quests that need to be completed so they can get more answers.
But this ending, this cliffhanger, so not fair. Here I was thinking that something to do with Baz would be answered. And it was but now we’re left with more questions.
First off I absolutely love this series! I binged all the books again with this release. There is so much that needed to happened && yet the cliffhanger was the worst yet. It’s currently 2am and I was so invested I ended up screaming WHAT!? So loudly my snoring husband almost fell out of the bed. I had a feeling I knew who Baz was but it never occurred to me just how crazy a ride that would be to find his identity… I’m gonna end this rant by saying I need more than one more book, there’s too many questions I need answered in not ready for this wild ride to end.
At this point I am simply obsessed with Neith and the gang. Also this is like the first book in the series that we get actual descriptions of the men 🤯 I now have to rearrange my imagination, thank you very much. All in all a very cute book with a not-so-surprising-surprise at the end that still was a little suprising. I feel like Neith‘s rambling is brushing off on me… so when can we get the next book? 😂
As frustrating as I find the end of these books they always leave me wanting more! I absolutely love this series and this book was another fantastic instalment. As usual a few answers were given, but it also left me with more. I cannot wait for the next book to release and I would highly recommend this book.
I love this story so much! The characters are amazing, as is the storytelling. This book was definitely needed. I'm already wanting the next one. For those that wait for a complete series, these come out faster than she normally posts, and they are WELL WORTH IT.
Ok I'm a big fan. Always have been but I have to say that Neith is in her own class. I think we would have been friends. I can ramble on and sometimes have to worry if I said that out loud or is just my face. Can't wait for more. I totally called it when you introduced Baz.
Brilliant read as always from Nikita!!! Always an immediate read (and buy when I can). Love seeing the characters get closer with each other. But the cliffhangerssss!!! Can’t wait for the next one
Nikita I love you but the book endings need to come with warning labels for potential anxiety attacks and heart palpitations. I need book 10 please pretty please. So good!!!
I literally screamed "noooooo" so loud that my neighbors heard me. I wasn't ready for this book to end. There is a reason this amazing woman is my top five favorite authors. Everything she writes I not only read but love every book as well. I need more STAT!
Why oh why must it end on that cliffhanger. The story is going great, we finally get some answers and then BAM it’s the end of the book. I’m really hoping the next book will be released super early
With some authors who do lengthy series of books, the latter books sometimes lose their excitement. That never happens in a Nikita Parmenter series. This book actually gave me goose bumps at the reveal at the end! Looking forward to the next book ;)
I absolutely love the characters and the story. I absolutely HATE the cliffhangers! Will it stop me from reading the next one?? No, it never does but I'm still gonna complain. Lol
I love neith and her brain, but honestly she needs some meds. It's like 3 days.... And the whole damn book is one giant unusable ramble. It's gonna take 25 freaking books to finish. I need anxiety meds a blanket and a coffee to come down from that 400 page run on sentence. Buuuuuuuuut I love her.
I really like this series but it is taking forever to get any information. Half the book is the FMC rambling in her head. I love her personality but the fact that barely anything happens in each book and almost no questions are getting answered really is driving me mad!
OMG that cliffhanger has me screaming!! I know this author does that a lot but dang this on really got me!!! I am so glad she already has a tentative date for the next because I just cannot wai!!!
This book kept me coming back. It was a great story and the pacing is strong. It is hard to keep a story like this going for this many books and keep the reader entertained. Well done.
I really enjoyed this book. I had to go back to the previous book and do a reread as I could not remember any of it. However I felt like we got true momentum with this book and it was very enjoyable.
