Pregnant by the Firefighter Next Door: A Single-Daddy Friends-to-Lovers Romance

Rate this book
I slept with my grumpy firefighter neighbor—

I tell myself Christopher Jones is off-limits for a reason.
He’s a good friend and the one man who makes my pulse shutter every time our eyes meet.

We share daycare drop-offs, borrowed tools, and a routine that feels too domestic to stay innocent.

I pretend it doesn’t matter when his fire suit comes off—it’s just muscle.

Loneliness turns reckless. Friendship turns hot. And I finally give in to the way I’ve been wanting him.

After that, he pulls back.

But he still shows up. Fixes what’s broken. Stays late. Is part of my life like he already belongs.

Somewhere between late nights, stolen kisses, and the way my fingers roam over his toned body, I fall for him.

Achingly. Recklessly.

Then the positive test in my shaking hand.

I’m pregnant with his baby—and if he walks away now, I don’t just lose him. I lose the family we almost built and the future I never thought I was brave enough to want.

“Pregnant by the Firefighter Next Door” by Shelly Brason

-This heartfelt neighbors-to-lovers romance follows Tessa and Chris, backyard neighbors whose shared daycare runs and friendship slowly turn into something deeper. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.

Chris’s gruff firefighter exterior softens beautifully as his devotion to his son Ben—and to Tessa and her daughter Averlee—reveals the steady, loving man beneath the risk-filled job. With an unexpected pregnancy, real fears about the dangers of firefighting, and loyal friends like Grace, this tender story shows that love is worth every leap of faith.

This book starts out a bit slow, but I was still obsessed with the storyline. I found myself smiling when I read about Chris his son Ben, Tessa and her daughter Averlee. These are some really great characters that makes this a really great book.
I found some parts of this book to be pretty realistic when it comes to Chris and his job as a firefighter. In fact, when Shelly wrote in a certain scene about it being quiet I smiled and thought oh boy the "Q" word was just said.
This is an entertaining must read book that deserves a perfect 5 out of 5.
