I just love a good redemption story. There is something so beautiful about watching a powerful man change, soften, and embrace love. They say reformed men make the best husbands, and our Karan proves it to a T.
Karan Wadhwa marries Mishti Goel for one and one reason only. Revenge. He enters the marriage with the clear intention of making her life miserable. Love was never a part of the equation, and he makes that clear to her from the first night itself. Cold, distant and harsh, he keeps her at arm’s length and refuses to give any explanation for his behaviour, despite her asking him repeatedly.
Mishti is confused n heartbroken and has no idea why her husband dislikes her so much. She pleads for answers from her husband but is brutally shut down by him every single time. Yet, despite all the hate, she remains hopeful and patient. She keeps trying to mend the relationship that is doomed from the start. There’s an unspoken tension between them that is intense and simmers quietly. And even though Karan ignores her, he is the first one to protect and support her when the need arises. In those fleeting moments, we get glimpses of the warm and loving man he could be.
Slowly, Mishti begins to fall for him, and just when she’s about to confess, a devastating truth comes to the fore. The very reason why Karan hates her family and wants revenge. Shattered, she now knows that her very existence is the cause of Karan’s turmoil. So, despite her own pain, she chooses to distance herself from him so that he can finally find peace.
Mishti is one of the best FMC I’ve read. She’s a pure soul. Grace wrapped in grit and dignity. Compassionate, understanding and resilient, she makes us believe that love and goodness can melt even the hardest heart. Even though she’s received hatred all her life, she has so much love to give. Despite her husband’s indifference, she understands him on a deeper level. And even her decision of separation is for his own good. She suffers silently so he can thrive. And yet, she’s no doormat. She is strong, self-respecting and independent, and she makes Karan work for every bit of her forgiveness. Watching her transform and grow during their time apart was so empowering. Take a bow Mrs. Wadhwa.
And Karan… WOW. I love each one of Madhuri’s leading men, and when I think she cannot outdo herself, she comes up with Karan. Arrogant, broody and filled with rage, he carries his anger like a second skin. Marrying Mishti to avenge a past wrongdoing, he leaves no stone unturned in making her life hellish but fails to break her spirit. But when she leaves him and goes away, that is when our guy loses it. You only realise the true value of a person when they are away from you. This holds so true for Karan. He begins to miss her and unknowingly remembers every little thing that she did for him. Slowly, his ego, revenge and pride take a backseat, and he goes all out to win his wife back. Watching him change, tone down, and flirt was so swoony and satisfying. And his confession speech… God, the way he owns his mistakes and apologises made me tear up.
For me, he became Karan with NO HEART to Karan, the SWEETHEART.
The bond between the friends and siblings is so beautifully portrayed. Rajat, Abhimanyu, Komal, Avni, and Divya add so much warmth. And the epilogue… it was the best kind of closure, healing everything that was broken.
Watching these two broken people find their way back to each other is what makes this story so touching and memorable. If you love picture perfect redemption and forgiveness, this one is not to miss.
Hating her was his end game, loving her was just the beginning …
Have you ever wondered about the space between "never again" and "what if?" That space is dangerous.
Because that's where you either walk away for good or turn back knowing exactly what it might cost you.
The latest read from Madhuri revolves around a similar theme. It emphasizes on the fact there is razor-thin line between heartbreak and hope.
Heartbreak teaches you how deeply you can feel. Hope teaches you how deeply you can endure. And sometimes, they coexist in the same breath-tears balanced on the edge of a smile.
In the initial days of her marriage, Mishti has been faced with more obstacles than she ever thought possible. Heartbreak, loss and betrayal to name just a few. In a house that was meant to become her nest, she finds herself navigating cold silences, unspoken truths, and wounds she never saw coming. But beneath the hurt, beneath the ache of everything that feels unfair and undeserved, her resilience never wavered. Hasn't someone rightly said, sometimes, the most shattered beginnings give rise to the fiercest strength?
The girl who entered that house with dreams in her eyes begins to challenge Karan with something far more dangerous- her resolve to make her marriage work. And this strength became her ultimate weapon to win the battle of revenge.
Life for Karan hadn't exactly been plain sailing either. Long before Mishti walked into his world, he had been carrying his own old wounds, buried rage, and a past that refused to loosen its grip. He was the one who started the cold and calculated game of revenge. But he hadn't accounted for her.
How did we get here? It was supposed to be a just a revenge game...
Somewhere along the way... between pride and punishment, he lost the one thing he had sworn to protect from Mishti-his heart. Demons were released, past was exposed and suddenly, their future together appeared to be fragile possibility-one they would have to build from the ruins themselves.
The moment Karan realised Mishti meant more to him than his vengeance, more than his pride, more than the years he had spent nursing old scars-something shifted.
For the first time in his life, revenge felt small. And love felt terrifyingly vast. And one thing became certain- he's not going to let anyone get in the way of his new found happiness, no matter the cost.
This big slice of feel-good arranged marriage romance brings enemies to lovers fire, hilarious sweetness, heart -thumping moments, and all the butterflies. Smile yourself silly as one big bossy hunk tries to keep his heart and his secrets from his innocent wife destined to make him whole. It's a pretty light and refreshing read which you can pick at anytime and in any mood. I just completed the book and I just fall in love with Mishti. She was such a pure character I have ever read. I was quite mad at her for tolerating Karan's curel words (just like komal) but at some point I understand that she is just like that. I love grovelling part and I like all other supporting characters but the thing I love the most is character development of both the leads. I love the book it's written beautifully.
One Hellish Revenge is an intense and emotional romance based on a revenge-turned-love story. The characters are strong, the emotions are deep, and the slow-burn relationship keeps the reader engaged . Madhuri Tamse delivers a gripping story filled with strong emotions, dramatic twists, and complex characters.
I have read quite a few books with the marriage for revenge trope. I have to say Karan is the cruelest in his words to Mishti.
He tells her many times:
He hates her
All of his intimate partners before her were better
He won’t be intimate with her
And my favorite that he spent the night with his best friend’s sister. She’s his business partner and makes no secret she has a crush on him. She even confronts Mishti and tells her to leave him.
All of this is before 28%. The reader sees Karan having second thoughts, but every time he pushes it down and comes back with something crueler.
Mishti holds out hope for her marriage. Just when you think she’s had enough something happens to give her hope so she doubles down as well.
Side story of the revenge because her dad killed his mom in front of him.

Wow. 600 pages and I thought I would semi-trudge through it, but once I got started it mesmerized me. Really good story that flowed throughout. I got immersed with the characters and the plot. The hero was a grade A asshole that was intent on making everyone suffer for the sins of their father and the wife he chose, who was the daughter of the man who murdered his mother was front and center. The heroine had that intense loving heart that endured so much and my heart just ached for her. The hero's vendetta against her family was written so well that you could understand his turmoil. The last third of the story brought the redemption. It wasn't glossed over or simplified, you watched him change at a gradual pace like layers being lifted after 15 years of revenge slowly splintering. Loved it.
Honestly I don't give time of world to such kind of books. Where female lead is just complete doormat and have no spine as written in the blurb of the book. 15 Chapters all I read her crying over him humiliating her and she legit next day forget about what he said and go back to get more humiliated that keep ok continuing. Seriously she didn't even back down when he said he slept with another woman. I don't care if he did it really or not but he said that and she believed them but chose to behave like Typical Prativata Patni who carry the barrier "Mera Pati mera devta hai". Lol her character is just comical. And I'm sure this book either got fake ratings or it is read by those typical sexist women out there who will take all this shit but won't leave her husband.
