Small Town Sisterhood #3

Faking Cinderella

Rate this book
Listening Length: 11 hours and 36 minutes

A grumpy former bodyguard, an heiress in disguise, and an accidental roommate situation…

If I’d known a tall, broad mountain of a man would crash the one-bedroom cabin I’m borrowing, I might have handled things differently.

I still would’ve lied to him. He doesn’t need to know all of my reasons for wanting to meet my surprise triplet half brothers while undercover as a housekeeper.

But if I’d known I was going to have a surprise roommate, I wouldn’t have rigged a homemade security system in the cabin that left him…erm… Let’s just call it easy to spot in a crowd.

And he wouldn’t have tried to blackmail me when he figured out my real identity.

And I wouldn’t have been so attracted to his audacity that I started looking deeper at the wounded man beneath the gruff exterior.

And then we wouldn’t be here, with him making me scream his name for all of the good reasons every night.

But I can’t keep faking Cinderella forever, and when it’s time for me to come clean, he’ll have to choose—loyalty to my half brothers or belief in me and the noble reason for the long game I’ve been playing.

Faking Cinderella is a swoony romcom featuring a mountain of a man with an even bigger wounded heart and an heiress determined to right a wrong. This opposites attract, secret identity romance stands alone and comes with a sweetly satisfying happily ever after.

Tropes include opposites attract, secret identity, roommates to lovers, enemies to lovers, blackmail, revenge, secret family, found family, bodyguard, maid, and lady billionaire boss.

Thank you to Pippa Grant for the chance to read and listen to an advance copy of Faking Cinderella! This is only my second book by this author, but after my first one, I fell in love with her writing - she’s a master of sexy love stories that make me laugh, and that’s a great combination.

In Faking Cinderella, we have: bodyguard hero, heroine in disguise/secret identity, billionaire heroine, accidental roommate, roommates to lovers, fling to more, hurt/comfort, small town, opposites attract, romantic comedy.

Faking Cinderella is the third book in Grant’s Small Town Sisterhood trilogy, but it can be read as a standalone. These are interrelated stories and I’m already planning to go back and read the earlier two books. I recognized one couple from the other book of Grant’s that I’ve read (in a different series), The Worst Wedding Date, and it was fun to see them pop up here.

Margot is a billionaire heiress but her family is awful (well, her dad, especially). Because of a DNA test, she discovers she has triplet half-brothers in Colorado and she not only wants to meet them, but she’s hoping to use them to help force her father out of their huge hotel business. So she disguises herself and pretends to be an “ordinary” person, until she is ready to reveal who she really is. Rhys is a private security expert/bodyguard and the scene where they meet had me rolling in laughter. I don’t want to spoil the fun so that’s all I’ll say about that.

The audio is terrific, an actual duet audio (not just one person doing a chapter from each POV, but actual duet)! The two narrators are Ryan West and Maxine Mitchell.

4.5 stars!

Narration by Ryan West & Maxine Mitchell was amazing! These two were perfect for these characters! They brought all the emotions to live & really made it a fun ride!!

Rhys & Margie!! This book was such a fun & hilarious read. The meet cute in this one immediately had me laughing out loud. The banter, the tension, and the chemistry between these two was perfect!! Boy did this one heat up! The spice in this one was delicious!

I absolutely loved the Cinderella, hidden identity, and family secrets vibes of this one! The triples were hilarious and all the added drama had me hooked in!! Margie is a billionaire heiress, pretending to be a housekeeper, so she can try to get to know her brothers. Throw in the grumpy ex bodyguard & make him her roommate…perfect combo! I really enjoyed this story!

I have loved this series so far & this was such a fun addition! Such a funny, heartwarming, and loveable story. I love Pippa Grant’s writing style & romcoms. This was definitely another hit for me!

Thank you Pippa Grant for this early copy!

Margot goes undercover as a housekeeper to secretly meet her triplet half brothers but her carefully crafted plan unravels when Rhys unexpectedly shows up at the one-bedroom cabin she’s staying in. After a disastrous first encounter (involving a homemade security trap gone very wrong), he discovers her true identity and tries to blackmail her. As tension turns to undeniable attraction, she begins to see the wounded man beneath his tough exterior. But when the full truth comes out, he’ll have to choose between loyalty to her half brothers or believing in her and the real reason behind her deception.
This was my first Pippa Grant book and while it says it can be read as a standalone I'm not sure that is the best way to read it. There were a lot of characters that were randomly mentioned and I had no clue or didn't care who they were because I hadn't read the prior books and I felt like I was missing a lot of context. It was a quick, entertaining read and I will never think about hair dye the same way again. I loved the triplets and their distinct personalities (honestly, I wanted even more of them).

2.5. Rated R. Contemporary Romance

Usually a fan of Pippa but not this one, although I seem to be in the minority.
Totally unrealistic. Eye rolls galore. Sex scenes were stupid.
Just soooo disappointing.
Bad fluffy RomCom. Don’t waste your time.
Although again, looks like many do not agree. 🙄😵‍💫

Faking Cinderella (Small Town Sisterhood #3) by Pippa Grant

Pippa Grant does it again, this series continues to be an absolute delight.

“Meet-cutes” are adorable, sure… but Rhys and Margot do not get one of those. Instead, they kick off their story in a dark cabin, complete with booby traps and a very grumpy Rhys catching the worst of them. It’s chaotic, hilarious, and sets the tone perfectly for a book that never stops delivering fun.

From the first chapter onward, it’s full throttle, laugh‑out‑loud moments, sparkling banter, and the kind of heart that makes small-town romances so addictive. Grant has a gift for taking the absurd, the sweet, and the swoony and crafting them into something that feels both larger‑than‑life and deeply grounded.

Margot and Rhys are such a memorable pairing: sharp, stubborn, endearing, and impossible not to root for. And as always, the Small Town Sisterhood vibes are on point—warm, messy, supportive, and wonderfully entertaining.

I’ve loved this entire series, but this one might be my favourite yet. Pippa’s writing always brings the story to life and keeps you engaged with every page.

A wildly fun, heartfelt addition to the sisterhood. Highly recommended for anyone who loves humour with their heat and chaos with their charm.

Pippa Grant's books are always fun, funny, and full of heart, and Faking Cinderella is no exception!

Rhys and Margot don't have a meet cute - it's more of a meet at the cabin full of booby traps Margot set up. He's definitely a grump and suspicious of why she wants to meet her newly found triplet half brothers. She is on a mission and doesn't need a grumpy roommate, but that's what she gets when she has to share a cabin with Rhys. Their chemistry and banter were fantastic, and I loved the connection they built.

The writing is full of humor and heart, and I loved getting to read it in both ebook and audiobook formats. The audiobook was especially fun with its duet narration. The narrators fit the characters so well.

This is book three in the Small Town Sisterhood series, but you can definitely jump in with this book. The entire series is fantastic and Rhys and Margot are my new favorite characters so far.

Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.

This is my first book by this author, and though this can be read as a stand alone, it really shouldn’t be. There were so many characters to catch up on at the start that it was unnecessarily confusing. I was sort of hanging on and hoping it eventually made sense but the characters continued throughout the book without enough backstory to understand how they all fit.

Normally I don’t mind role reversals but there were several times I was taken right out of the story and reminded the MMC was written by a woman. Things like saying “f—-k on a crabcake” (or any other such food item), is nothing I’ve ever heard from a man’s mouth. Having him think about how he felt cherished, worthy, and wanted while having sex in a car also felt (forgive me) girlie. Plus he called her a minx….like a grandma might.

There’s a way to mix vulnerability with a hyper masculine character (marine in the world of personal security) but this missed the mark for me.

Also, did I just listen to a bonus epilogue from the moose’s perspective?

This had Pippa’s trademark humor and the shenanigans that ensue when someone is keeping secrets. Of course, as always, we find heart at the core of a story depicting a girl who yearns for family.

With enough spice to balance things out, this one was a fun next installment in the Small Town Sisterhood series! Looking forward to seeing more of our characters in the future.

This was such a fun read. Not overly silly, but definitely laugh out loud. I wasn’t sure how Margot’s story was going to pan out, but it was worth the ride. Rhys was a good fit into this world. I can’t wait for the triplets books. Margot was so vulnerable, and she wasn’t sure how to process that. She was just looking for more good family to love. The comeuppance she planned made it all worth taking the chance. I also listened to the audio version, and it was so well done. It’s duet form, which is my favorite.

Ebook / Amazon Audio / Audible / Amazon Paperback

When Margot finds out she has half-siblings, she not only wants to get to know them, she wants to protect them from their awful father. So she fakes an identity and gets a job as a housekeeper so she can be around them without them (or anyone else) realizing who she is. She had no way of knowing one of those brothers would ask their friend Rhys to check her out. Their meet cute is one for the ages (think a booby trap involving hair dye and a skillet 🤣) and both are wondering if their fling turned more has a chance of becoming something to stand the test of time (and the reveal of her real identity). All she wanted was to meet her brothers, what she gets is a whole lot more. It might be love, if both of them let the other completely in.

After Rhys gets over the little booby trap Margot caught him in, he's fascinated with his little liar. He knows she's lying to her brothers, but once he sees the way she acts around them, he knows she's not got evil intentions. In fact, she's caring with a big heart. If he can convince her to stick around after the truth comes out, they can have something neither ever had before - love.

Funny, sweet and heartfelt - Rhys and Margot are adorable together. Not only was their meet cute awesome, their entire journey to the end made me laugh and swoon and cheer them on. Margot is as amazing as I knew she was going to be when she appeared in her sister and ex's story, The Grumpiest Billionaire. She's smart and so strong, but the best, most beautiful thing about her is her heart and the way she cares for her sister. Neither of them deserved their awful father, but thank God she took that DNA test and met their brothers and more importantly, Rhys. Rhys was down bad for his Margot, and not afraid to say so. Nothing makes me happier than to read of a guy who's so down for his one that he has no problem admitting it to himself. He, Margot and their literal found family still have me smiling just thinking about them. I'm sad the Small Town Sisterhood series is done now, but Pippa gave us the best conclusion!

*Huge thank you to Pippa Grant for providing me with an ARC copy of her book. All opinions are my own. Love you Pippa!

OMG! You guys! This was such a fun book to read! I mean, Pippa Grant’s books are always funny and entertaining to read, but I also loved how this time around she made the FMC be the BILLIONAIRE! We love a boss woman! In case you haven’t read the previous books in this trilogy, go back and read them as they play a role in this last and final book in the series. With Margot, Daphne’s sister, she was on a mission to meet her triplet half brothers, and gradually work up the courage to ask for their help in taking down their father. As you could imagine, things didn’t go according to plan, especially with the introduction of former Marine/ bodyguard/ close friend to the triplets, Rhys. Pippa Grant wrote another fun filled romance with not just lovable characters, but once again connecting previous characters from Pippa’s universe. So, there were familiar faces in this book which made it even more exciting to read, and see all the characters interact with each other. Never a dull moment with Pippa Grant, and the way she wrote Margot and Rhys’s story was interesting, hilarious, loving, and heartwarming with the family aspect of it.

Margot was determined to get to know her half siblings, but she was also cautious of not having her dad find out where she really was. When I think about the lengths that Margot went to in order to get to know her other siblings, and make sure nobody knew her REAL identity, it was kind of wild. With a disguise and fake identity, Margot assumed the role of, “Margie Johnson”, and now a maid working in the resort within the small town of, Snaggletooth Creek. I also found Margot to be such a strong FMC from the way she was always ready to help anyone regardless of whether they were rich or not. Margot was the kind of person who could equally be a total shark in the boardroom to showing genuine respect to others around her. I liked Margot a lot and I admired the lengths she went to in order to protect all her siblings from their dad. Margot was a great sister, an amazing woman, and deserved all the love she got from Rhys, her siblings, and new friends.

Awwww Rhys! I loved him! With a name like, Rhys, and being a former Marine, now bodyguard who was GRUMPY! Girl, I was already crushing on him! Rhys was a favorite from the start, but even more so when I saw just how DOWN BAD OBSESSED he became over Margot. In Rhys’s point of view, he literally says it himself how much he was head over heels OBSESSED with Margot (sigh) what a man! Plus, I loved seeing how later when things got a bit tough and emotional for Margot and her siblings, Rhys was there for her. Sure, things may have gotten out of hand a bit before the end, but Rhys got himself back up and fought for Margot, and it was a heartfelt moment to see him express how much he cared and loved her! AWWWW!

This story wouldn’t be complete without all the other characters who appeared in this book. Now that I think about it, there were a good amount of characters from Pippa’s other books and series that were in this story too! From Theo and Laney from, “The Worst Wedding Date”, to Sabrina and Grey from, “The Gossip and the Grump”, to Bea, Simon, Daphne and Oliver from the previous books within the Small town Sisterhood trilogy, all these characters played a role in bringing together Margot’s story with her siblings. At the heart of this story, I saw Margot trying to protect her half brothers and getting justice for Daphne after what their parents did to her. Margot was the big sister, and you can tell by what she did and said throughout this book that family meant the world to her, her siblings to be specific. I think the way Pippa wrote this book really gave everyone the closure they needed in order to move on in their lives, but also discover there are different types of families one can have. The whole book was just so lighthearted yet also heartfelt in how all the characters interacted with each other, and formed a family. I also just loved seeing other characters who I equally love get to see them in a new part of their lives as parents, with kids of their own, and living happily in Snaggletooth Creek. Overall, a great book, and Pippa did such a wonderful job bringing me the small town vibes with her special sparkle that makes me laugh, smile, and feel happy.

Faking Cinderella is the third, and final, book in the Small Town Sisterhood series and follows Margot as she gets to know some people who could become special in her life, as well as be the nail in the coffin for her father.

Margot was born the oldest daughter to her parents. She is assumed to inherit the Aurora Gardens Hotel chain when her father retires. She is the type of executive you always wished you had. Someone who listens to their employees and acts on what they say. However, she is on a mission and only time will tell if she is successful.

Rhys is the only child born to his mother. She and his grandfather built a private security company from the ground up. Rhys went in to the marines out of high school and served with his best friend, Decker. When she married his stepfather, he also gained two stepbrothers. One of which did him dirty. Top that off with his stepfather setting him up on a job, and he no longer has any family.

When Margot shows up in Colorado, she is there to put a plan in to motion. But this plan involves people who have secrets. They are good people, but they know something that they are keeping close to the vest. They think they know who she is, but what they know barely scratches the surface.

Margot is there to do some recon work. She wants to get to know these people. Her mission will involve them, but she does not want them to become collateral damage.

Rhys has been sent to scope out the situation with Margot. Decker, one of the people she is getting to know, has asked Rhys to find out if he can trust her.

When Rhys arrives at the cabin where Margot is planning to stay, she has beat him there. Since she is a single woman, staying in a secluded cabin, she rigs up a security system. So when he walks in to the cabin late at night, he sets off the handmade system. And this is how Margot and Rhys meet each other.

There is a mutual dislike and distrust between these two.

Everyone around town knows Rhys. He visits Decker periodically so his presence is no surprise. But no one knows Margot. This is a small town with a super tight community. Everyone knows everyone. So how Margot is able to keep her secrets is surprising.

Once Rhys figures out how he knows Margot, and what her true intent is with his friends, he goes out of his way to cover for her. Little mishaps that she needs to clean up at the resort she is working at in order to avoid being seen by a mutual acquaintance.

But when the truth comes out about who Margot is, the fireworks will give the Fourth of July a run for the money.

Margot now has to completely revamp her plan. But it will surprise you who provides a new plan.

Will Margot succeed in her ultimate mission? Will Rhys get justice for the past? Will these two reconnect? Or was it just a simple fling to be forgotten?

The best part of this book was the homemade security system that Margot implemented. I laughed so hard at the repercussions. Poor Rhys. Will he ever recover from simply walking in the door to the cabin?

I loved seeing Daphne and Oliver again in this story. I had to laugh at the road trip to the city. I do not know what happened previously, but when everyone tells her no and works double time to get her out of the city, it makes a girl wonder.

The one thing I was disappointed in was not getting to know more about the triplets. I felt like they were just there. Yes there were some outings with them, but I thought they would be more prominent. With that being said, it gives me hope that they will get their own series in the future. They each have a story to tell and I am hoping to someday enjoy their shenanigans.

I cannot remember the last time I listened to Maxine Mitchell. It seems like I have been missing out on her fabulous voice. Her serious Margot and her fun loving Daphne. Plus her protective townspeople. I do not seem to listen to Ryan West that often, so I truly enjoyed him as Rhys. He has that gruffness, plus a softer side. And let us not forget the fun loving persona he used for Lucky.

Wonderful Story & Narration🎧Delightful & Heartfelt!

Faking Cinderella
Small Town Sisterhood Book 3
By: Pippa Grant
Narrated by: Maxine Mitchell, Ryan West

It is great being back in Pippa Grant’s wonderful “Small Town Sisterhood” world again for another fabulous romantic comedy, a captivating story with lots of heart, humor, and heat! You can not help but fall in love with the characters, their shenanigans and idiosyncrasies, and a meddling moose. This third book in the series is Margie Johnson, aka Margo, and Rhys O’Malley’s story, and I was looking forward to Margo’s story and learning more about her after meeting her in the earlier books. Margo is Daphne Merriweather-Brown’s sister from “The Grumpiest Billionaire”, a not to be missed story, and after their father disowned Daphne, Margo has been plotting to avenge her and take her father down. Learning of her father’s infidelities and that she had triplet half-brothers out there, she was going to have them be part of that plan, but to pull it off she needed to hide her true identity from them until she got the on board. Margie went to meet her brothers, and they offered her a cabin to stay in, the same cabin Rhys was staying in. Their first meeting was a scene to remember, hilarious and one Rhys would not live down. Rhys is friends with the triplets, and Decker asked him to look into Margie, so sharing a cabin will be convenient for his investigation. He feels like he knows her, and it does not take him long to figure it out, and he makes that work to his advantage. It was great watching those two interact, get to know each other, and see their relationship morph into something so much more. I loved all the layers of the story and how it all played out with the perfect balance of drama, a touch of angst, witty dialogue and humor, heartfelt emotions, and a slow burn but so worth the wait romance. As always, the writing, plot, and world-building are incredible, as are the complexity of the characters, their growth, and development. I also loved seeing the characters from the earlier books and how everything came together in the end, which was fabulous, and the epilogues were everything. Pippa Grant, thank you for another wonderfully entertaining story, the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Maxine Mitchell and Ryan West’s stellar performance makes for a delightful listen, and they did an outstanding job animating the characters, embodying them completely. They were naturals in their roles, with Mitchell nailing it as Margo, fierce and confident, and West doing the same as Rhys, serious and perfectly grumpy. Both are fantastic performing the roles of the side/secondary characters, and their versatility and talent as voice artists truly shine. They set the ideal tone for the story, handled the humor and witty dialogue effortlessly, and their expressive performance conveyed all the characters’ emotions, making you feel each one. These two entertaining storytellers deliver an enthralling performance that is captivating while taking the already amazing story to another level.

The opening is "Pippa" hilarious 😂 and sweetly empowering all rolled into one. I felt like that was the major underlying theme throughout the entire book if there ever could be one. Margot is a boss lady who has a big heart and manages to put others first, but is also extremely successful while Rhys brings all the vibes of grumpy starting over security guy with trust issues, but also has a huge heart and can't help but put others first. These two couldn't have been more perfect for one another and the story was cute, heartfelt, and full of fun and feels.

To help with connections, since there are a few interconnected series tied to this book; Rhys O'Malley works private security is currently working for Decker Sullivan, one of the identical triplets (along with Lucky and Jack known as the Sullivan triplets from the Snaggletooth Creek series). Then we have the billionairess, Margot Merriweather-Brown (related to Daphne from The Grumpiest Billionaire) who is visiting the triplets as she recently found out that she is their half sister.

Margot, or Maggie, as she's pretending to be is meeting her half-brothers under the pretense that she is a lowly housekeeper. She doesn't want them to know that their father is a ruthless billionaire that would have zero problem using them to his own advantage and take away the lovely life that they grew up knowing in their small town. Plus she wants to get to know them without the pretense of what she's grown up with her entire life; the weight of duty, money, status and everything else that being a Merriweather-Brown means. For just a little while she wants, or more like wishes, to be Maggie, a simple, uncomplicated person. She just needs to keep up her ruse, all while living with an unexpected roommate, Rhys O'Malley. A man who also makes her heart race for every reason besides hiding her identity.

Rhys is sent by Decker to sniff out any secrets that Maggie may be hiding. Decker is by far the most untrustworthy brother of the three triplets, whereas Lucky is the complete opposite, but all three brothers are fun and easy to like. Back to Rhys--it doesn't take long for Rhys to sniff out Maggie for who she actually is, but he finds her a puzzle that he wants to solve, and not an immediate threat, so he lets her lie ride until he would feel the need to change his mind. That is until her sweet personality, her wide-eyed wonder every time she's around her siblings and family, and the way she makes his heart beat again take over the rational side of his brain.

Faking Cinderella is the best kind of found family, with crazy triplet brother stories, big family gatherings that brought smiles to my cheeks every single time, and love that has the best public indecency moments with a growly grump and a sunshiny billionairess. Rhys and Margot have that instant connection that made banter fun and I wanted them to work no matter what.

The entire book is delightful and I loved all the character updates from the interconnected series and I hope there are more spin-offs in the future, especially from the Sullivan triplets in particular.

I always enjoy the rom-com goodness that Pippa graces us with- but I was not prepared for the levels of perfection that this book brought!

Faking Cinderella is here and it is finally time for Margot Merriweather-Brown to get her HEA. What I was not expecting was the cross-over from this series and the Three BFFs and a Wedding series. That's right- Margot Merriweather-Brown is going to Snaggletooth Creek!! AND she's there "undercover" to meet her half brothers 🤯 It took me like half a second to make the connection and I literally got so excited with where this story was gonna go.

I always adored Margot as a side character in the first two books of this series- she has this carefully curated business side of her personality that carries a lot of weight on her shoulders, but you can also see that she has this big soft and caring side of her as well. It's in that soft part though that she carries this insecurity that she's not loveable or even capable of returning love. So it was so perfect to see her getting to explore that softer side of her personality more freely. Then there is Rhys- that man has had some damage done to his heart that he is not in the market to deal with any form of emotion when it comes to the opposite sex- but trying to figure out why Margot is hiding her true identity from his friends and what her end game is was an intriguing enough puzzle that he didn't instantly rat out his accidental roommate.

It wouldn't be a Pippa Grant story if I didn't find myself laughing over the craziness that makes total sense- like a homemade booby-trap alarm system complete with purple hair dye or creating a bubble explosion to distract from Margot's true identity getting made. Most of all though, I loved the connections between all the various characters. Of course Margot and Rhys' relationship was fabulous- they tease each other, they have this mutual level of respect for one another and there is this phenomenal spice between them peppered with just enough sweet that you know that it's not just lust and attraction that brings these two together. But it's the budding relationship between Margot and her brothers and getting to explore their connections to each other a little more, as well as all the pops of other familiar characters that also made me love this story. I love the found family trope in general- so while this story is literally about FOUND family all those other connections just felt like the biggest hug for both Margot and Rhys- two people who have often felt like they were on the outside.

I absolutely hope that since Pippa brought us back to "The Tooth" that it means that we are going to get to explore this "curse" on Decker, Lucky and Luke's love life!

Faking Cinderella, the third book in the Small Town Sisterhood series, is probably my favorite of the three. Margot Merriweather-Brown has a reputation for being a shark in the boardroom. She's been playing her father's perfect daughter for the last few years while planning to take him down. Her perfect opportunity presents itself when a DNA test connects her to her herefore unknown triplet brothers - she can use them to shatter the narrative. But to see if her new brothers are worth her trust, she goes undercover as a housekeeper at their retreat. The triplets know that she's their sister, but not the truth of her identity.

But while she's getting to know them, they're also evaluating her. Rhys O'Malley has been tasked by his friend Decker to observe his newfound sister. He's arranged for them to "accidentally" have to share the same cabin. But Rhys is completely unprepared for the whirlwind that is Margot. When he realizes that he has met her before, he blackmails her because how dare she try to manipulate or hurt one of his best friends! He doesn't trust easily after his fiancee broke his heart, and he's sure that Margot is just one more corporate snake.

The more time Rhys spends watching Margot and waiting for her to show her true colors, the more he sees that she's more than he expected. That the kindness he saw her show when no one was watching is a core part of her personality, not something she does for show. Her fierce loyalty to family and not so secret desire to be loved draws him in like he never expected. And maybe, just maybe, they might be what each other needs.

I was so happy to see Margot get her happy ending. Seeing her through Daphne's eyes in The Grumpiest Billionaire we caught glimpses of this smart, strong woman to who real family - blood and found - is everything, but now we got to see first hand her kindness and struggle to right some serious wrongs. Rhys deserves a chance to overcome his own heartbreak. I loved that the FIRST thing he noticed about her was her kindness and that is what helped him to get over his preconceived notions. The relationship between Margot and the triplets shines too. As always the hilarity is balanced with heart and I even teared up at a few places. It was also nice to see easter eggs connecting back to Pippa's 3 BFFs and a Wedding series. While it's not necessary to read these first, this is the first appearance of Dexter, Jack & Lucky, as well as many of their friends and family.

This is a fantastic book and series and I really hope Pippa gives us books for the triplets - they need THEIR happy endings!

I received an ARC from the author and this is my personal opinion and honest review.

Finding and embracing bigger-than-the-world love.

I loved, loved, loved this book so much. This romcom is hilarious and will make you laugh out loud until your sides hurt, but it is also a deeply emotional book. So expect to feel all the very big things in between the laughs. Pippa Grant is the master at creating stories with strong characters who have seen and experienced some things. They’ve been hurt and have some baggage. Characters who need loving more than rescuing. Characters who are scarred and bruised but not broken people who find their way together by owning their choices, recognizing their scars, embracing life, and deciding to be the best version of themselves. Characters who ultimately heal and embrace found family and let go of the people who just cause them pain. Margot is the billionaire heiress to Aurora Gardens, a hotel conglomerate. She has been raised to be the good girl. Her parents are terrible people who cut off her sister four years ago for not fitting the mold. Margot never wants to be the person her parents raised her to be and she has a plan. When a DNA test turns up unknown triplet brothers in small town Snaggletooth, Colorado, Margot becomes Margie, the broke daughter of a deceased single mom. She is hoping to connect with her half-brothers to build a family but she is also hoping they will help her to take down her father. Rhys is a former Marine, unemployed bodyguard who has his own baggage making him suspicious of women. He has been asked by Decker, the suspicious triplet, to check out Margie and make sure she’s not scamming the brothers in someway. Margot and Rhys’ hilarious meet cute involves purple hair dye, flour and a cast-iron pan. Rhys is suspicious of Margie but he’s also attracted to her. Margot is afraid Rhys will find out her real identity but she’s also attracted to him. It’s a delicious exercise in them trying to ignore the chemistry and attraction while trying to stay focused on their goals. Of course, once feelings get involved and trust starts to build, truths eke out on the way to their HEA. The swoon worthy deep healing in the story included the usual baggage unpacking, inner voice finding, truth telling, and life course correction but the setting (back in Snaggletooth!) and the well rounded secondary characters (so many cameos!) made the whole story an immersive experience. It was beautiful to watch the love and connection of these two wounded people deepen and grow moment by every day moment, interaction by ordinary interaction until it shines so big and bright and their lives are woven seamlessly together. I am sad to see the end of the Small Town Sisterhood series but excited the triplets will be getting stories soon.

“I can’t decide if you’re the nicest evil person or the evilest nice person I’ve ever met.”

Faking Cinderella is the third installment in the Small Town Sisterhood series, and honestly, it might be the most charming, chaotic, and unexpectedly heartfelt one yet. We’ve met Margot before in Daphne’s book, but seeing her step into the spotlight is a whole different experience. She’s not the icy billionaire boss lady we thought we knew—she’s a woman on a mission to track down her unknown half brothers, expose the father who wronged her, and somehow do it all while pretending to be someone she’s not. She’s hiding her identity, but for the first time, she’s also trying to let people see who she really is beneath the armor.

Enter Rhys. He clocks her secret almost immediately, but instead of calling her out, he’s thrown by the contradictions he sees in her—sharp edges wrapped around a surprisingly soft center. The more he watches her navigate this small town with equal parts awkwardness and grit, the more intrigued he becomes. And then? Intrigue turns into fascination, and fascination turns into something he absolutely did not plan on.

One of the joys of this book is how much fun it is. The humor lands, the banter sparkles, and the cameos from past characters feel like a warm reunion rather than a checklist. But beneath all the laughs, there’s real emotional weight. Both Margot and Rhys carry deep wounds from their families—scars that shaped them, hardened them, and left them wary of trusting anyone. Watching them slowly recognize those same hurts in each other creates a bond that feels earned and intimate.

“She tastes like everything that’s been missing in my life.”

What I loved most is how their relationship evolves. They start off suspicious, guarded, and absolutely convinced the other is trouble. But then the grudging respect creeps in. Then the reluctant fondness. And before they know it, they’re falling—not because of the lies or the secrets, but because they finally see someone who understands them.

Faking Cinderella is small town romcom at its best: warm, witty, a little messy, and full of heart. It delivers heat, humor, and genuine emotional payoff in equal measure. And now that the triplets are back in the mix—chaotic, charming, and absolutely begging for more page time—I’m really hoping their stories are next, because this series just keeps getting better.

Thank you so much Pippa Grant for sending me this ARC!

Faking Cinderella is the third Romantic Comedy book in a series of interconnected standalones and, like always, Pippa didn’t disappoint, this book was so much fun and I loved Rhys and Margot’s story!

Margot has been planning her father’s downfall for years, ever since he disinherited her beloved sister, so when she realises she has triplet brothers no one knows about, she decides to approach them under disguise to involve them in her plans. But the more time she spends with them and likes them the harder it gets because her plans might hurt them and to make things more complicated, their handsome but grumpy friend who is her roommate figures out her real identity and blackmails her.

I’ve been so excited to read Margot’s story after meeting her in the two previous books and it was everything I hoper for and more. I mean, a billionaire heiress pretending to be a housekeeper to get to know her brothers while falling for an ex bodyguard who is also her roommate? It’s exactly as fun as it sounds and I was laughing out loud so many times while reading, I was hooked from the first page and didn’t want to say goodbye to this story and these characters. Margot was amazing as the FMC, she was really strong and capable and so different from what could be expected of a billionaire heiress, she was kind and compassionate and always wanting to help and did really well as a housekeeper. Rhys was such a grump but a really adorable one and I loved him so much, he and Margot were polar opposites but perfect for each other and I loved seeing their relationship grow, they definitely didn’t start of on the right foot (their first meeting was hilarious and had me cackling) but even despite their trust issues and his suspicions and protectiveness they were incredible together, their banter was amazing and them being roommates made everything even better and when they finally gave in to their attraction the spicy scenes were *chief’s kiss*, I loved these two so much. And of course it was amazing to see familiar faces from Pippa’s other books, there were so many of them here and I loved seeing them all again!

Faking Cinderella is a really great rom-com, I loved this book so much and recommend it and all Pippa’s books to everyone.

From the moment this book was announced, I couldn’t wait to start it. “Faking Cinderella” is a swoony, heartfelt, and laugh out loud opposites attract, secret identity rom-com that was an amazing addition to the “Small Town Sisterhood” series.

Margot is having a year to say the least. And on top of it, she’s found out that she has triplet half brothers that no one knew anything about. And because her family, other than her sister, are the worst kinds of people, she wants to meet them. But she’s a well known heir to an empire so she hides her identity so she can really get to know them. She borrows a cabin from one of the triplets and to her surprise one night, a big mountain of man crashes the cabin. Rhys is a grumpy bodyguard taking some time off after a job and he’s just as surprised to have a roommate in the cabin he thought he was going to have on his own. And because he’s good at his job, he figures who she is. Margot has only one option… to blackmail him so he stays quiet. And as the two spend time together, it’s clear there’s more underneath.

When I have a Pippa Grant book in my hands, I know I’m in for a hilarious rom-com with all the perfect emotions in it too. From the first chapter, I was laughing at the antics of Margot and Rhys. Margot is kind, caring and based on what her father did, she holds all of that on her shoulders which was not even her fault to begin with. Even though they weren’t her mistakes, she wanted to do everything she could to make it right. I loved her being “undercover” and really getting to know her new half brothers without the stigma of her last name. Rhys is growly, protective and I was just as smitten with him as Margot was. He has this wall built around him but once you get to know, he’s just amazing. I loved how he was protective of Margot while she was undercover. The banter between these two in the beginning was hilarious and I loved how it evolved into attraction and then a relationship. The chemistry once they gave into those feelings was off the charts hot. I loved all the quirky moments with Margot, Rhys and her brothers. And it wouldn’t be a Pippa book without an animal and his hilarious bonus epilogue. This story was so much fun and I can’t wait for what I think the next series will be about.

Faking Cinderella is the third Small Town Sisterhood novel, and while I've come to expect Pippa Grant's couples to make me laugh and fall in love in love alongside them, Margot Merriweather-Brown and Rhys O'Malley were in a class all their own. These two were like a pair of lightning rods in a bottle, distinct from many main characters that I've come across in the slew of books I've read this first quarter of 2026. She's a thirty-one-year-old billionaire heiress and the future CEO of Aurora Gardens, a global hotel conglomerate; he's a thirty-four-year-old security specialist with hopes of making a success of his own security business. Margot has a younger sister named Daphne (yes, that Daphne from The Grumpiest Billionaire, the second book in the Small Town Sisterhood series), but she's recently discovered that she has three half-brothers who are triplets living in Snaggletooth Creek, California. She decides it's time to not just meet them, but to spend time with Decker, Jack, and Lucky Sullivan and get to know them. However, she introduces herself as Margie Johnson, a housekeeper now at the luxury resort in town. Decker calls in his friend, Rhys, in hopes of getting a better read on his new sister. Margot has reasons for keeping secrets; the question is, will Rhys keep them for her when he figures out who she really is?

I wondered what Margot had up her sleeve as The Grumpiest Billionaire concluded, and once everything came to light, I was cheering her on from my perch, aka my very comfy reading chair. She was a woman on a mission, albeit a rather complicated one, and I felt for her as she balanced her need to see her plan through while also dealing with the impact of not only meeting her brothers, but also trying not to fall in love with Rhys. Speaking of Rhys, talk about a man who deserved some good things in his life! That "meet cute" he shared with Margot certainly left a mark on him--all in perfect shades of purple. These two had a lot more in common than one may initially think, and there was just this pull that they had towards each other that highlighted just how much of a connection they shared. Aside from their romance, there was also Margot navigating her relationships with her newly found brothers; and while Decker, Jack, and Lucky may have been triplets, every single one had their own unique personality. (Side note: I can't wait to see what Pippa Grant has planned for these three and their respective happily-ever-afters!) Faking Cinderella was about family, revenge, and love, and there's nothing fake about the five stars I'm giving it!

Pippa Grant delivers exactly what I need every time—laugh-out-loud humor, feel-good vibes, and a swoony hero. Faking Cinderella is a fresh, fun take on a billionaire romance with opposites attract, enemies-to-lovers, grumpy/sunshine and the added twist that she’s the billionaire.

Margot Merriweather-Brown is a billionaire heiress pretending to be a housekeeper in order get to know her triplet half-brothers without the baggage of her name. She’s smart, kind and quietly fierce, but her plan goes sideways when she’s forced to share a cabin with Triplets’ friend Rhys O’Malley.

Rhys, a grumpy former bodyguard, immediately suspects there’s more to Margot than she lets on. He’s sharp, capable, and not afraid to bend the rules a little—but falling for her? Definitely not part of the plan.

Their banter is top-tier, the chemistry undeniable and the tension builds into some seriously steamy moments. I loved the found family dynamic, the hilarious group interactions and seeing familiar faces from the Pippaverse.
This story is full of heart, humor and heat, with a satisfying HEA and a beautiful reminder that family isn’t always about blood—it’s about the people you choose and who choose you back.

If you’ve read the book, get the audiobook. If you haven’t—definitely get the audiobook. It elevates an already hilarious, heartwarming story to another level. You’ll be laughing out loud and maybe even tearing up from the meet-cute alone.

Ryan West and Maxine Mitchell narrate in duet as Rhys O’Malley and Margot Merriweather-Brown and both deliver standout performances. Ryan West perfectly captures Rhys’s grumpy, gritty exterior while bringing out his underlying hurt and loneliness—plus the tension and heat are spot-on. Maxine Mitchell is equally fantastic as Margot, balancing her bold, take-charge personality with warmth, loyalty and vulnerability. Her banter and seamless shifts between identities are especially impressive.

Together, they make the story completely immersive. I was hooked from start to finish, laughing through every awkward moment and joke. Highly recommend for a genuinely fun, feel-good listen.

I absolutely adored everything about this hilarious, heartfelt, and swoony romance! I loved the hilarious meet cute between Rhys and Margot and then the push/pull, slow burn sexual tension, along with their fun and flirty banter had me completely devouring every word! Margot learned through DNA testing that she has three half brothers that she never knew about. She travels across the country in disguise hoping to get to know the triplets before she reveals who she is and who their horrible father is. Rhys has been hired by his friend, one of the triplets, to find out any secrets this new woman may be hiding. Rhys and Margot quickly discover each other's true identities, and blackmail each other to keep their secrets. Rhys is loyal to his friends, but the more time he spends with Margot, the more he is convinced that she is not a spoiled rich girl, but is sweet, and caring. As Margot gets to know Rhys and her brothers, she finally feels seen, cherished, and loved. But when her secrets are revealed, will that betrayal be too much for the triplets to forgive and make her flee leaving them and Rhys behind, broken hearted? I fell head over heels in love with Rhys and Margot. I loved the way they challenged each other, their fun banter, and their chemistry was explosive. I loved Margot's strength and thoughtfulness, and swooned over the way Rhys was both a grumpy alpha and a sweet romantic. I also loved catching up with all their supportive and quirky family and friends, including a nosey moose, who made this story even more entertaining. There were so many laugh out loud moments but many emotional, sweet and sizzling moments as well.
Ryan West and Maxine Mitchell were fantastic at bringing this delightful, laugh out loud, story to life! They were so perfect as Rhys and Margot as they made these smart, unique and witty characters come to life. I also think they have perfect comedic timing. I loved their humor, and their easy ability to make this hilarious, heartwarming, and sizzling romance one that you will want to listen to again and again!

Pippa Grant is the queen of rom-com! This series has been a favorite of mine since book one. While the books are interconnected standalones, I highly recommend reading them in order so you can catch all of the little Easter eggs Pippa is known for sprinkling throughout her stories.
The way Reese and Margo first meet had me laughing so hard. Margo’s Kevin McCallister-style trap absolutely sent me!
Margo travels to Colorado to finally meet her half brothers—the triplets: Lucky, Jack, and Decker. Their banter with Margo and with each other was hilarious. As a twin myself, I could absolutely relate to that sibling dynamic. The teasing, the loyalty, and the chaos felt very real.
We also get more development in Margo and Daphne’s relationship, which was great because it picks up nicely from where we left off in Daphne’s story.
The chemistry between Reese and Margo was phenomenal. Their relationship develops naturally throughout the book, and I loved that Pippa made them truly work for their happily ever after. Despite both characters carrying difficult pasts, they fit together beautifully.
And let’s not forget about the moose… he gets his own chapter! Honestly, Pippa couldn’t have wrapped up this series in a more perfect way.
I loved listening to this book in duet narration by Ryan West and Maxine Mitchell. They were phenomenal together. There were so many times I laughed out loud or felt deeply emotional while listening. Ryan perfectly captures Reese’s straightforward personality while still conveying the character’s hidden insecurities. Maxine brings incredible depth to Margo, balancing vulnerability with strength in a way that makes the character feel incredibly real. Their narration brought the story to life and made an already fun, heartfelt book even more enjoyable. This was an unforgettable listen and the perfect way to experience this story.

“So you’re not a shark?”
“I’m a lioness. I lead the pride. And the pride is more powerful when every lion in it is getting what they need to thrive..."

“I don’t like how much I like you.”
“Everyone has issues. Happy to be yours.”

It takes a skilled writer to execute the balance of comedy, emotional trauma and romance. Fortunately for us RomCom readers and listeners, the stellar Pippa Grant doesn't miss a step in the steamy, laugh out loud, heartfelt, hidden identity, and forced proximity Faking Cinderella.

Margot, a kickass CEO, heiress to an upscale hotel chain, is posing as a maid at a resort to meet her newly discovered half brothers, triplets Decker, Lucky and Jack. She wants them to know her as Maggie, the fun loving sister and not the take charge CEO. She's also hoping they'll help her bring down their biological father; a ruthless cheater who causes much heartache.

Rhys, an ex bodyguard, dumped by his fiancee for his stepbrother and ran out of his own security firm, is also pretending when he has a somewhat painful, hilarious meet cute, involving a skillet and purple dye, with Margot. She thinks he's here to work at the resort but he's here because her brothers want him to make sure she doesn't have any ulterior motives.

Rhys figures out who Margot is, but spending time with her chopping wood, cooking, and watching TV, he realizes she isn't an evil stepsister and he really wants to be her prince.

Voice actress Maxine Mitchell (@narratormaxine) shines as Margot, bringing the tough grit she needs to be a woman in charge and the vulnerability that lets her be a woman falling in love. Voice actor #ryanwest has that deep rich tone that makes Rhys not only sexy but strong for Margot.

With the best last chapter from a surprising POV and a truly satisfying karmic end, Faking Cinderella is a real fairytale RomCom.

Faking Cinderella by Pippa Grant
Small Town Sisterhood Series, Book 3 and the conclusion.
Narrated by Ryan West and Maxine Mitchell
Approximate Listening time : 10 hours and 59 Minutes
374 pages

Pippa Grant can write a rom-com like no other. This series has been a favorite of mine since book 1. Each story is totally different and interconnected is some way but you can read as a standalone. My opinion is to read in order and you will understand all of the lute easter eggs that Pippa loves to throw into her books. Here are a few spoiler free scenes of why I loved this book so much. but it is only a little taster because this book was absolutely brilliant.

-The meet cute of between Reese and Margo was absolutely hilarious. WE have hair dye, flowers and a skillet that will have you doubled over.
-The triplets...Lucky, Jack and Decker. Their banter is out of this world funny. not only with margo but with each other. imagine the 3 stooges and their antics plus throw in pipes funny writing and you get a good idea of the hilarity that comes from these three.
-Between Margo's real family.....they are horrible by the way and the found family that spans over the 3 books....Let's just say that this series is a favorite for this trope.
-Margo and daphne's relationship is the thing we look for in a sister. They are each others best friends but truly are amazing sisters together and will walk through fire for one another.
-Reese and Margo together are fire. Their relationship developed over the entire book and I loved how Pippa made them work for their HEA. Even though they both have terrible pasts, together they are unstoppable and I loved reading their story.
-The moose and he gets his own chapter....OMG Pippa could not have finished off this series any better that with that final chapter!

I had the absolute pleasure of listening to this book narrated in duet by Ryan West and Maxine Mitchell. Both performed brilliantly together and I cannot count the amount of times I either laughed or felt some kind of emotion while listening to this book. I mean come on, between Ryan and his straight forward attitude but also having the voice to make me feel his characters insecurities. And you also have Maxine with the talent to make a vulnerable character strong. Together they knocked this story out of the park. A fun filled listen that these two narrators really brought to life. Thank you for lending us your talent so we can enjoy this story by listening.

I can’t say enough good things about this book! I was smiling so often throughout reading it, and at one point I was tearing up with emotions over this wonderful story.
The story and characters are so emotionally intelligent, they’re so endearing and they have basic flaws from the realities of life that make them feel relatable.
Rhys and Margot are “accidental roommates”, she is an extremely wealthy woman who has come to small town Colorado from NYC to get know her triplet half brothers that she recently discovered. She doesn’t want them to know she’s a wealthy heiress or who their father is so she concocts a fake past and name. I understand her wanting to be accepted for herself and not money and she’s shielding them from a lot which I found so endearing.
One of the triplets asks his best friend Rhys to keep an eye on her and see what he thinks her intentions are.
Rhys and Margot bicker and trade hilarious banter that kept me extremely entertained. They have enemies to lovers chemistry, they have had rough lives in different ways, yet they both are extremely caring and thoughtful. They begin to see that in each other despite fighting their trust and attraction.
It’s a witty, hilarious RomCom with so much depth and intelligence. It was such a treat to read, it’s rare to find all of these things in a RomCom.
I love the character growth, I love the kindness and generosity of spirit that is shown by so many of these absolutely lovable, interesting characters.
The triplets and their family are fantastic, I’m already familiar with Margot’s sister who appeared in the book previous to this. I do recommend reading them in order to, I think it enhances the experience and plot. I LOVE this book and highly recommend it. It’s going on my favorites of the year.

*I was given the opportunity to read an early copy of this book, thank you. My review is entirely my personal opinion.*

{NO NEED TO FAKE} my excitement about this book!

Margo Merriweather Brown is the sister to Daphne from Book 2. Under the guise of an emotional sabbatical to recover from her sister “stealing her ex-fiance” she travels to Snaggletooth Creek, Colorado to connect with her newly found 30 year old triplet half brothers. Determined to get to know them without all the baggage and drama that comes to being related to their father - she takes on a Cinderella like role. Cleaning at the luxury creative resort, accidental roommates with Rhys (former ex-Marine and former private security). Rhys’ job is to vet the triplets “half sister” to see if she’s trustworthy. Margo is more than a rich pretty face. She’s kind, cunning, and determined to take her father down for disowning her sister. With the triplets help - his reputation would be ruined for good. Falling in love with the hot brute of a roommate was not in the cards.

Things I Loved:
-I love a boss babe who isn’t afraid to put in the hard work! Margo is everything I love in a strong FMC! Her crisis of self-worth gets an overhaul with the unconditional love and support from true family and friends.
-Rhys - rightly suspicious and begrudgingly respects Margo. The way he sees through to the heart of situations is so hot. I love that he completely looses his mind over Margo.
-The Sullivan Triplets - Decker (ex-Marine & author), Jack (explosive expert), Lucky (nurse) - hilarious and NEED their own stories!
-Cameos galore - it makes me want to dive into Pippa’s backlist ASAP!
-VENGEANCE/JUSTICE - this whole series is an ode to villains getting what is deserved!
-The bonus epilogue - in true Pippa fashion - I died laughing

Audio Notes:
{duet} PERFECTION. I was fully immersed in this performance by Maxine and Ryan. The confidence and poise of Margo and the gruff competence of Rhys were huge highlights! I highly recommend this audiobook.

I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book. This third book in series can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA. It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV.
Readers first meet Margot in book two of this series where her sister Daphne finds her HEA with Margot’s ex-fiancé. We had a hint that there was a lot more under the mask than she allowed people to see, and this book takes the mask off. I adored her! She certainly had the oldest daughter syndrome going on and I could relate to her (even though I was not raised by billionaires). I love that she crafted what she thought was a foolproof plan to meet her long-lost half brothers and gain justice against her father and his miserable self. I appreciated how much love she had for Daphne and the patience she exhibited in putting the plan together. She was a complete boss babe and I loved her.
Rhys…oh, Rhys. He was a damaged soul, and I fell hard for him. I loved how he understood Margie/Margot. I adored their chemistry and his stamina. He had protective nature and competence in the kitchen as well as chopping firewood…sigh. Yeah, he’s a total package. He’s the perfect complement to Margot because he appreciates everything about her.
There are hot times, laugh-out-loud moments and all the other emotions a reader like me wants to experience while reading a rom com. The triplets were hilarious. Being back in the Tooth was a blast. I loved seeing the characters from the Three BFFs series again in their HEAs. I couldn’t stop smiling. This is worth reading more than once.
