A princess x knight, forbidden romance: Being born a princess might be a dream to some, for me not so much. It’s a life with a lot of fake smiles, glasses filled with champagne and dresses too heavy to wear. Not a single decision I get to make on my own, a lot of protocol to follow and it gets quite lonely at times.
When my father makes a deal, sealing my fate to the devil, I decide to run.
Like a thief in the night I disappear, starting over my new life, far away from home.
When I stumble upon a mysterious man I met before, I’m swept off my feet.
Trying to adapt to my new life and the way I feel around this beautiful stranger, while enjoying the fact I’m finally free.
But danger is coming, I can feel it. A brooding cloud hanging over us. Once the secrets are spilled, we might not be the same. Once the men of my father find me, there will be nothing left.
One (k)night is a fictional romance set in a time long ago, in a world far away from here. About a runaway princess finding her way in life and a protective knight in training with the order to find her and bring her home. A story filled with love, about finding yourself, yearning, betrayal, found family, small town, a bit of a slow-burn with some spice sprinkled on top and heavy on the romance.
One Knight by Lyra Nox is a story about a young princess who runs away from home to escape an arranged marriage. The king sends his knights to search for her, and (without spoiling anything) a love story unfolds.
I enjoyed the sweet relationship with nicknames, first love vibes, and the care they show for each other. It’s also satisfying to see the princess learn to be independent. The side characters are also cute, especially the blacksmith Doug.
