It was stumble over my feet at first sight when I met and bowed to Lady Eden, as if I were a knight and she a queen straight out of a medieval fairy tale, at our best friends’ wedding rehearsal dinner. YOU GUYS. I never thought I'd swoon for a redheaded, Ren Faire loving, shy, short king who says "my lady"... but here we are. 😂
Martin is absolutely perfect for our fmc, Eden. She's 18 and a single mom to 2-month old Ivy. 🥰 They meet at mutual friends' wedding (James and Shayla from The Guardian's Angel), where Eden is the maid of honor and James is the best man, naturally. From there - it's pretty instalust.
Martin is 100% down bad for Eden right away, and absolutely adores Ivy. He turns into a full-on clumsy, embarrassed, stuttering mess - which does wonders for Eden who's been incredibly insecure after pregnancy + giving birth. His praise and words of devotion are just... all the green flags. 🥹🥰
This was honestly a really fun read. It's a short novella (less than 70 pages) so it's quick + easy to read, super low angst, and achingly sweet with a healthy dose of spice.

This book honestly wasn’t long enough—I needed more!
I did not expect a short king to become one of my all-time favorite MMCs, but here we are. From the very beginning, Martin and Eden’s connection felt instant and genuine, and getting to watch their love story unfold was such a joy. Martin had me completely swooning with his nerdy charm, and I loved how effortlessly Eden was drawn to him.
After everything Eden went through—with her baby daddy and the impact it had on both her and Shayla—I found myself rooting so hard for her to finally get the happily ever after she deserved. Seeing Shayla get her love story made me want that even more for Eden, and this book truly delivered.
Martin set the standard every single time. The way he went out of his way to make Eden feel comfortable, valued, and cared for? Absolutely everything. He showed her exactly how she should be treated, and I was kicking my feet through so many of their moments.
My only complaint is that it ended way too soon. I’m not ready to let them go—I need more of Martin and Eden’s story, May!

Oh my this was a fun read. A Dance with his Angel was a super short and sweet read. Eden is our fmc, she is 18 years old and is a single mum, our mmc is Martin who is 26 and is head over heels for Eden immediately. Like the moment they meet type of immediately.
He is a short king, probably about 5’6, has red hair and is slightly shy and very nerdy (endearing). He calls her ‘my lady’ and she calls him ‘my lord’ every time they refer to each other. It’s truly insta love. But because it is such a short novella it makes sense that things need to happen quickly.
I haven’t read any books in this series yet and I assume some of the characters mentioned have their own books, but I was never confused or felt lost by not knowing them. This novella had me kicking my feet and giggling throughout, I only wish it was longer so I could enjoy it more. Definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a quick, sweet, ren fair vibes read.

I was once again so excited to read a short story from May Alder! A Dance with His Angel, is a novella in May’s “Their Angels” series, and while I think it is the 3rd or 4th book in the series, it chronologically takes place between the first and second novels. Luckily these are all standalones so you don’t need to have read the others to enjoy this one!
At its heart this book is just a really sweet story about a young girl who has made some teenage mistakes and her knight in shining armor who just wants to love her and her baby with all of his heart. I loved both the m and fmc, Eden and Martin and I wish we could have had a full length story about them but at the same time, it was nice to have a quick read that was drama free! Because this story is so short, there isn’t a ton of spice, but what’s there is very sexy and we get a tiny bit of one of my favorite kinks!

This short story was only 66 pages, but it was so cute without being straight spice. It had the perfect combination of story and spice.
Martin isn’t the usual MMC I read. He’s a nerdy, ginger, short king. However, May Alder had me falling for this man. The connection between Eden and Martin was instant, and that’s what I really liked about this story.
Eden is a single mom to Ivy. I love how Martin showed her that not all men are the same by the way he regarded her infant daughter. This is the first book I’ve read in the Angels series, but I definitely won’t be my last. I can’t wait to go back and read them all!

I received an ARC of this book, and the following review is my honest opinion. This has quickly become my favorite installment in the series to date! While Eden and Martin were background characters in previous books, they absolutely shine as leads here.
Lord Martin and Lady Eden are a perfect match. I loved watching Eden navigate her caution, which is understandable after her past and find someone as respectful as Martin. He is a true gentleman who knows exactly what he wants: Eden. My favorite part was seeing Martin realize that Eden truly enjoys his company and doesn't judge him. It was beautiful to see him find someone who loves him exactly for who he is. Highly recommended!

This is the sweetest book! Definitely a little different feel from the other May Alder books but also similar in many ways (like the love at first sight, the age gap, etc.). Nerdy Martin meets sweet single teen mom Eden at their friends' wedding. It is definitely love at first sight for Martin and his bumbling behavior and Renaissance language is part of his charm. Eden is intrigued and quickly falls in love with him too. This one moves fast and was short....leaving me wanting more May Alder stories!

I have been so excited to read Eden and Martin’s story and it totally lived up to my expectations. Martin is truly such a gentlemen. This book feels so much different than any of the other May Alder books. I love the writing style and how she truly fell into Martins character with her writing. Martin might not be everyone’s cup of tea but he sure is Eden’s. I love when the nerd gets the girl! If you haven’t read a May Alder book I would highly suggest you do. The stories are always so captivating and this one is no different.

This one is very much insta-love, something May Alder def knows how to do! I really enjoyed getting a nerdy, RPG-playing, Ren Fair–loving MMC paired with the sweetest FMC who just gets him right away. Their connection felt super soft and wholesome.
I loved how they were a little awkward and shy. It made everything feel extra adorable and the two of them together were just easy to root for! (Plus the spice…hot!) Overall this was a fun quick insta love read with sweet characters, a touch of spice, and a HEA ending.

It’s sweet and nerdy which isn’t normally my type of thing but May has a way of storytelling that just works so well and makes me inhale her books.

I loved their nicknames! It gave Bridgeton vibes! This was 100% one of May Alder's lighter reads! I thought it was adorable how awkward Martin was. When he randomly says "marry me"! So cute! The spice was still hot hot!! I really enjoyed revisiting all the characters in the Their Angels Series! It's the perfect addition to the series. I'm going to re read His Relentless Angel!

When attending their respective best friends wedding cause Eden and Martin to meet, it’s an immediate attraction for them both. But, Eden has a little to consider and it’s up to Martin to convince her that he is in for the long haul.

I’m not really sure how to rate such an extremely short story. I guess I’ll give it three stars. It wasn’t really my cup of tea. The MMC was not my type. But he was extremely sweet as was the FMC.
It was all just way too quick and cutie and there was really nothing to the story at all. I’m not fully sure why the author gave us this novella other than just have two characters from other stories come together and that was it.

It was so great seeing the other characters in this series as well…I couldn’t help but laugh over Isaiah and Bailey since I’ve already read their story

It was so great seeing the other characters in this series as well…I couldn’t help but laugh over Isaiah and Bailey since I’ve already read their story

May Alder knows how to write a spicy book, even if it is only 62 pages long!

the cutest thing you'll read all year! Awkward ripped nerd meets young single mum and they fall hard and fast, this was the perfect little glimpse into Eden and Martin's romance, it was the perfect edition to their moments in the series. I love the 'Their Angels' Series SO MUCH!! (And can't wait for book 3 and 4)

If you’re into awkward, clumsy guys who love Renaissance Faires, this is the perfect book for you! If not, the MMC may give you the ick. Either way, he’s exactly the right match for our FMC Eden and they get their happily ever after.
