Wanderlust Wisdom: Journeys of 25 Full-Time Travelers (To Travel a Nomad Life Book 4) by Chris Englert is a collection of essays from various Nomads about their experiences. They tell the reader how they went about becoming Nomads.

I have so many favorite quotes from the book. Right in the opening pages, Englert lets the reader know “the people moving about the world are as varied as the world itself.” (p. 1). Kindle Edition. The one thing that binds “nomads” in this book is: “our home is where we are, not where we left behind.” (p. 2). This book is like a “how-to” for nomading.

Like many of the nomads in this collection, the hardest part for me would be getting rid of my memories, my scrapbooks and photos of a lifetime with my family of seven. They are a part of me that I do not wish to lose.

But let me allow the essayists to speak.

Latreash and Brian learned that “It was okay to not have everything figured out, to get lost, and to make mistakes. No one was perfect at nomad life.” (p. 50). Kindle Edition.
“They realized quickly that they could go away and things, truly, would be okay.” (p. 51).

Warren, the oldest nomad in the book, offers great advice. “Life, he says, is bigger than material possessions.” (p. 76). Kindle Edition. This is so true! But difficult for many to attain.

“You can't mold yourself after someone else’s nomad style. You have to be true to yourself,” advises Georgeanna. (p. 85). Kindle Edition.

Wanderlust Wisdom: Journeys of 25 Full-Time Travelers (To Travel a Nomad Life Book 4) by Chris Englert is an extremely well-organized book about the nomading life. All the important details are included. It offers connection with other nomads and gives solid advice so the reader can consider the nomad life and do it themselves. Bravo, Chris. Well done!

Book read today. I used to follow this author when she lived in Denver (eatwalklearn)and used to post different hiking trails that she had been on or meeting with others along the HighlandCanal . Even though I would never want to travel full-time this book is full of valuable information and different perspectives (such as how to get rid of all your belongings, timelines, healthcare while traveling, etc.). I learned a lot reading this book and I will probably read at least one more from this author.

I met Chris and Steve through a travel group meet-up, where travel enthusiasts from all walks of life gather to share stories, offer advice, and trade tips from their journeys. That’s exactly what Chris brought to this book. As I read it, I felt like I was back at one of those meet-ups, discovering how each of us approaches travel differently. I always leave those gatherings feeling inspired—and that’s exactly how I felt when I finished this book.

inspirational and Practical

This book explores the whys and hows of nomad life in retirement through stories of singles and couples who are living the life. There’s a lot of variety represented, showing that nomading can be whatever suits your personality, circumstances and budget. Recommended.

Another great book by Chris Englert to help us live a life a freedom! What does that look like? I enjoyed the various perspectives of so many world travelers in these vignettes—there’s as many styles of freedom as there are travelers. The author wraps it up with practical help for those considering their own life a freedom, traveling the world.

So fun to read about all the different ways people do this travel-as-lifestyle thing...including us (see Chapter 18)!

Favorite quote: "Trust in the unfolding. Let it be easy." (Alison)
